Sweet and friendly: Joohwan was raised to be a good boy, his parents always put a lot of attention to raising their kids to be nice people. Careless and mannerless: Because Joohwan loves fun so much and isn't afraid to be himself, he became very careless with growing up. When he wants to do something that seems crazy and will have a risk, he'll do it. He likes to look for the extreme thrill in things like skydiving and bungeejumping and barely has any fears. He also doesn't really act like how an idol should. People say that it's because he grew up on the stage, but he sits with his legs open, burps, yawns and curses on broadcast. Netizens either love it because he's so real, or hate it because he's so impolite. Joohwan also isn't afraid of voicing his opinion against anyone, heck, he would even argue with the president if he had to. background. Little Joohwan was always a little ray of sunshine. He had an older brother and a twin sister, Joosung and Jooeun. Even though he was just a few minutes older than his sister, Joohwan was always seen as the youngest, the little baby that needed to be protected. Even his much smaller sister took care of him all the time. His parents were both involved in backstage work for kdrama's. One day, a role was required to be played by a little baby that was less than a year old, but the baby was very sick and was crying all the time, so they had to find a replacement. Joohwan and Jooeun were always brought to the filming set because they couldn't be in the kindergarten all day, so the other staff asked their parents if they could use Joohwan for the role. He just had to sit there in the actress' arms and stay calm, and even though the little baby boy looked around, curious of his surroundings, Joohwan didn't get scared even once, and did really well. He was used to filming sets already, because he and his twin sister were basically raised on the set.

After a few years, when Joohwan was a rapidly growing toddler, his parents got asked if he could play another minor role, and of course, after asking his permission, they agreed. Joohwan and Jooeun as well made a cameo in another drama, and they did amazing. At that moment, their parents knew that the two little twins were born to be on the filming set. They kept having small roles in dramas and movies, but didn't have an agency, until they joined Fantagio entertainment back when it was  just founded in 2008. The two were young teens of 12 years old, and then their careers started to bloom, but with new roles and opportunities came new struggles and hardships as well. The two twins were thrown into the harsh celebrity world at a way too young age. But they weren't the only ones, in 2010, they had a whole group of children with them, the iTeen trainees. Child actors and trainees who experienced training to polish their skills. Joohwan and Jooeun were some of the older members, taking people like Kim Saeron, Moonbin and Chanwoo under their wings. Joohwan promised himself that no matter how hard it was, he had to keep smiling, for himself, for his siblings, for his parents, for the trainees who looked up to him, simply because he was older and more experienced.

The iTeen project kept going, and both Joohwan and Jooeun kept acting their hearts out for the company. But friends around Joohwan started to dream about being an idol as well, and he just tagged along, well, more like Fantagio told him to tag along. At first, the boy was a bit lost, but he actually did quite well, and was one of the more known trainees of the iTeen boys. But when the project group were preparing to debut, Fantagio had to break the news to Joohwan, they would not let him debut, he wasn't as good as the other members, and on top of that, his contract was ending. Right after Astro's debut, Joohwan left Fantagio, while Jooeun decided to extend her contract. It was weird, after 8 years, Joohwan was suddenly out in the free world, but even though the boy did keep smiling, he was lost. He was used to the rythm of idol life, the lack of freedom, now he had too much freedom, so much freedom that he was afraid of it. After a few months of wandering around aimlessly, Joohwan got approached by a person who introduced herself as Lee Areum. A former idol, so she must know what Joohwan felt, and by playing her cards like that, the disease lured poor Joohwan in her trap, but little did she know that he would be strong, that even though she would hurt him so much, he would go on and smile, making the others around him feel better as well. All because he once made that promise, because he was the one currently very popular idols and actors admired. There's no way he would admit defeat as the first of them all. He promised his little siblings of the iTeen project to rise and be the best of them all.

TRaining background.  Joohwan has been in the spotlight all his life, so he was used to the hard work he had to deliver, but when he started to train to become an idol, the boy was taken by surprise. It was so different, and he wasn't able to fully flourish yet. His vocals are average, his rapping is good, but acting will always be his forte. Because he is well-known already as actor, he is one of the more popular members of the group. It is no secret that he worked way better and felt way better at Fantagio, but his contract ended, and Fantagio didn't offer him an extension, so he had to leave his friends and twin sister behind.
