PERSONALITY : 

insook has been an imaginative person since she was young. her imagination is her strength in her job. sometimes, she is just sitting around writing, and an idea will come to her head. she gets panicked and frantically tries to write down her thoughts before they go away. she'll hum and tap her pencil trying to finish her thoughts. inspiration comes and goes, so its best to listen to it while it is there. while insook is imaginative, she is an escapist as well. when it comes to the unpleasant realities of the world around her, insook will escape into her writing/composing to help deal. this is her "running away" from her problems instead of facing them head-on. she does not want to dwell on the harsh realities of the entertainment industry.

insook has been known to be a kind person. she respects others and is genuinely concerned when people are feeling down. if she saw someone crying in the kitchen or living room, she would more than likely walk over and comfort them. while insook is kind, she can be a secretive person. she is concerned about others, but when it comes to herself, she is not so open to letting things about herself be known. she beats around the truth instead of admitting things, but she does not lie. insook just keeps things to herself. if she saw someone take another housemate's food, she probably wouldn't voice it to the others because it "wasn't her business to tell". 

insook, as stated before, she will comfort others when they are down. this also means that she is an empathetic person. she understands the feelings of others and is able to adapt accordingly to their moods. if someone is angry, she won't get angry back and will try to see it from their side. if one of the housemates are yelling about something that pissed them off, insook would come over and listen to them until they calmed down.  when it comes to herself, insook is a mess. she is unorganized to the worst extent. her room has books and papers and notebooks all strewn about that its hard to focus. except, even if she gets her life in order and cleans everything, she has an even worse time trying to work because she can't "find" anything anymore. its a vicious circle. the housemates should never venture into her room....or trust her to do anything that is remotely important because she will mess it up.

insook is an open-minded person. she does not care what other people are wearing or who they like romantically, its not her business. if someone were to comment on her attire or feelings, she would just offer a smile and say "mind your business". she is all for not judging a book by its cover. while insook is open-minded, she does have a weak mentality. she's easily swayed and caves in almost instantly. if a housemate was begging her with puppy eyes to give them her food, she'd give them everything. 

insook is a carefree gal. she goes with the flow most of the time in life, just trying to stay floating in this tsunami of stress. her escapism leads to her being carefree, "nothing can hurt me" attitude. she doesnt care what others say about her and she does not want to rush into any plans without thinking it over first. while she is carefree when it comes to being "lost in your head" insook takes the cake. she is an idealistic person. she thinks that her dream will just happen, even if she doesn't put the maximum amount of effort. she's sure that everything will just fall into place and that she will get recognized and become a world famous composer. little does she know, there's a lot more that goes into gaining recognition. 

BACKGROUND :
insook grew up in seoul, south korea, where she was born to music teachers at local schools. her family has always been musically inclined, so there was no doubt in their minds that insook was going to follow in their footsteps. insook was named after her grandmother on her father's side, which is obvious when you realize that only people well into their fifties have this name. she has always been teased for it and she's working up the courage to change her name to something more pretty and elegant, which is why she calls herself "nana" for now. her mother taught her piano when she was young, and she continues to play to this day. her parents always thought she would go on to be a pianist, but instead, she revealed she wanted to become a composer. she loved reading music and experimenting with beats and pitches so it only seemed to be the best option.

insook did decently in school from primary to high school and went to a decent college where she studied music theory and commercial music. she never thought of doing jingles as a profession, and was focused on becoming a composer for actual songs that singers would sing. well, you have to start somewhere. insook did well enough in university that she caught the eye of one of her professors, who recommended her to her first job. this job was one for a yogurt drink. it was her first ever job, so when she presented them with her ideas, they were all shut down. she was being too "experimental" so she had to write more inside of a box rather than outside of it. thats her main problem, no one wants to hear her originality, all they want is something catchy and fun, so its hard for insook to express herself. she just wants someone to recognize her talent and see past the jolly jingles that she makes.

she moved out of her parent's house after university and just jumps from apartment to apartment. she gets a moderate amount of royalties a month from her music, but it is not making her filthy rich anytime soon.

▸ horror movie fanatic (zombie movies are her favorite; train to busan is legendary)

▸ her most "famous" jingle was one that was made for a rpg app that people described as "annoying but stuck in your head" (kinda like the tropicana commercials.) insook is proud of this
▸ open to finding love, but its not her priority
▸ channels the "crazy cat lady" aesthetic to perfection
▸prefers cats, would own fifty if it was allowed. she had a cat named "ink" when she was a child, but he died of old age.
▸ picked up knitting as a hobby and stress reliever *angrily knits on the couch at 3 am*
▸ she hates her name with a burning passion, but she still hesitates to change it (KIM SAM SOON!!)
▸her mother sets her up on blind dates all the time and she just goes for free food
▸she has notebooks upon notebooks with jingles/compositions that she hasn't released yet
▸she keeps a portable keyboard in her room that she uses at ungodly hours in the morning to help compose
▸when first meeting insook, everyone mistakes her as a fifty-year-old woman. They are always surprised when she turns out to be so young

RELATIONSHIPS : 

▸ mother & father  — lee yoojin & na injun (58 & 62) / music teachers / wise, nice, quiet / 10/10
her mother and father are her life line. they encourage her to continue moving forward. her mother usually calls her to tell her to eat something and to make sure that she's taking care of herself. her father also calls, but sparsely compared to her mother. they both think that insook should of had a more stable career, but they are happy she is doing something she loves. one day, they hope to hear her music on the radio.

▸ professor — jang euiwoong (47) / music professor / strict, serious, caring / 8/10
the professor who helped insook make a break into the business. he still works at the university that insook went to and when insook is in need of advice, she will go personally to the school to talk to him. he does not sugar coat anything and will tell insook straight up that she's being stupid and that she doesnt understand music when she is having trouble with writing. he does think that insook was one of his best students, and he wants to see her succeed in the profession. 

▸ agent/friend — park hyunjoo (28) / agent / stubborn, protective, smart / 9/10
the only person besides her parents who can handle insook. hyunjoo is insook's agent who helps get her deals with companies and is the "mediator". she likes to accept jobs for insook when insook doesnt want them simply because she needs to accept as many as possible if she wants a chance. hyunjoo will drag insook out of bed if insook even dares to try and skip working a day. insook and hyunjoo are friends outside of work, and sometimes they go out shopping and drinking together.

▸ "This boarding house had good energy to it. It also means that I don't have to keep running around from apartment to apartment."

question : what house chores are you able and/or prefer to do?

▸ "Chores? I can do anything that is asked of me. If I can do it well? Now that's another story. I can barely keep my own room clean for more than a day."

question : what time do you have to be at work? will you have enough time to relax inside the house?

▸ "Not set schedule for me, I mostly work from home. I will go to the companies that I am contracted to for meetings every two weeks. Those are usually on Mondays or Thursdays from 10am to 1pm. I do like to leave the house and go work in the park or somewhere with less chaos when I need it."

▸ "There needs to be privacy so we don't kill each other."

question : If someone were to eat the food you kept in the fridge, what would you do?

▸ "If it were MY food to get stolen, I wouldn't get angry. Just sad and mope around for a bit before getting over it. No reason to get angry over something so trivial."
