appearance. zhiruo is 166 cm with 48 kg. she's not too short or too tall. despite her big innocent eyes, people tend to feel a cold aura come from her. it's most likely due to her resting face, something she has come to realize really affects how people view her. despite that, when she smiles, it's like a ray of sunshine has been sent down to purify the lands. her smile is big and her eyes become perfect crescent moons. this is a rare sight and every fleur member says that you must capture it on camera to make sure it wasn't a figure of their imagination.

zhiruo is a cold person inside and out. her parents' expectations and the unknown of the idol world has carved her into an ice sculpture they could say. she rarely smiles and she has a difficult time forming connections with others. her first impressions are always bad. not only that, but she is also a pretty intense woman, as she thinks everyone needs to get everything right first try or they obviously aren't trying hard enough.

she is so intense that it intimidates others, and no one really can call her a "friend". she doesn't mind it, to an extent. she hears all the gossip and the obvious discomfort and it only hurts for a moment. she really only thinks of it when she's alone practicing late and she can't run away from the thoughts anymore. since she was betrayed by her best friend, she has become a closed off person. it takes a long time to break down her walls, even then, it's possible that you could never break down her walls.
onto the better aspects of her personality, if it isn't obvious enough now, zhiruo is a hardworking woman. she wants to show the world her passion and see where it takes her. she doesn't want to be held back anymore. she is super focused on her goal of debuting, which makes her a monster in the practice room. she can't help but feel a tiny bit guilty when sakura starts crying over her yelling. she shakes it off though:

zhiruo is seriously a brave person though. she started her dream so young and knew what she wanted. she was going to do everything that needed to be done to finish it. not even her parents were going to stand in the way. she would definitely be the only one in the haunted house who could get out without flinching once. zhiruo is a pretty loyal person though. she would stay with her group 100%, and she would be the last to go solo. once someone is her friend, she would never join in the gossip and talk bad about them. she treasures them so much. she is a super protective person as well, if she heard someone talking crap about her members, she would fight someone to hell and back. if anyone is going to make fleur feel bad about themselves, it's going to Zhiruo, no one else.

zhiruo was born in changsha, hunan, china - a place b with talented children ready to tackle the world. ever since she was little zhiruo knew she was destined to be a star. her mother, jisoo, and her father, Li Jun, weren't supportive of her dream though. Despite numerous kids, like zhiruo's close friend yixing, joining the entertainment industry, her parents' wanted her to get a real job. that didn't sit well with zhiruo at all, and she made that clear with her parents by auditioning for yeuhua entertainment when she was just 15 in 2008.
zhiruo's parents (mom - korean, dad - chinese) are both stockholders and ceo's of their own companies. the two met through an arranged marriage where they got married two months after meeting. it was a plan to join the korean and chinese companies together to get maximum profits. zhiruo is 100% sure there is no love between them but they stay together due to status. it always bothered zhiruo. zhiruo is the middle child of five kids. she's not going to be taking over either parents' company, yet they expected her to follow their footsteps like the little "robots" they are. zhiruo is not fond of her parents' at all, her little siblings are her light despite the circumstances. when she was 10, her parents let her enroll in a chinese traditional dance class. soon, as she grew older, zhiruo had adopted other forms of dances from her peers, like hiphop and popping. she had found something that she enjoyed tremendously.
kpop groups were becoming a popular occurence in china during which she got into boa, who was the reason she grew interest in korean music. in 2005, without her parents knowing, zhiruo made an appearance on star academy (thanks to her older sister being her "guardian") dancing and singing to boa's girls on top. this garnered her some attention which angered her parents.
when zhiruo was 15, she found out that her best friend, yixing, was auditioning for sm entertainment. this prompted zhiruo to try out as well since she always followed him wherever he went. it didn't end well and now zhiruo didn't have a best friend anymore. (as explained in love interest section). yuehua, a popular chinese entertainment company. which is where her trainee life started.

zhiruo joined yeuhua entertainment in 2008 after being rejected from sm. she was one of their first trainees, and she mostly had to train herself and others in the company. it could almost be like she was a dance instructor herself. she wasn't set to debut in any of the groups as her "image" didn't fit with any of the groups like wjsn and she wasn't even decent at singing to even think of going solo. yet, zhiruo stayed with the company for nine years. during this time, she got a reputation in the company of "step demon" because she would make everyone relearn the dance if one member couldnt get it right. she ate alone in the cafeteria, she practiced alone in one of the practice rooms, she slept in a room in the dorm by herself because no one wanted to room with her. zhiruo didn't let it get to her.
soon after her produce 101 debacle, zhiruo knew she had a choice. she had finished at 34, so she got kicked out of the competition and forced to go back to the company. well, on a whim, zhiruo had quit the company. she needed to go some place in life and yuehua wasn't giving her that. so, instead, zhiruo set her eyes on korea. while her mom is korean, she did end up learning some korean from the korean trainees in yuehua. she found auditions being held at star entertainment, so she joined right away. she again, danced to boa's woman and got accepted into the company in late november.
in star entertainment, zhiruo doesnt really do much better. she insults everyone by (fake) laughing at their dancing when they all start practicing together. she can't believe she is with so many amateurs. the only person she can really stand is rose, but even then, zhiruo can see why she she hadn't debuted yet as she was lacking something. zhiruo cant really stand sunflower, only because sunflower seems to be at least decent, but too much energy for zhiruo. sakura ist he same, except she is a hot mess when it comes to dancing. gerbera is terrible and bougainvillea can't even get he beat. honestly, zhiruo doesnt know how she is going to survive.

when she was around 12, zhiruo convinced her older sister (rui) to be her chaperone to star academy. her bff yixing was performing and of course, zhiruo had to go perform to. she performed girls on top by boa, where she gained attention for her dancing skills. her parents heard about it and forced her out of the starlight again. that didn't keep zhiruo out for long though.
in 2018, yuehua sent all their female trainees to produce 101, except zhiruo went to the chinese one. she got some fame for her amazing dances and being in a class, however, she fell short in popularity and finished 34.
in 2020, zhiruo gets invited to happy camp. she forces all the members to come too because she can't do it alone. they play lots of games and bond. zhiruo gains some popularity in china again. lay is also a guest on here as well, where there is some noticable chemistry. she starts getting love calls.

yixing can be an easygoing individual, as he goes with the flow of whatever is happening around him. there is really no way for anyone to ever see him be flustered as he can adapt to any situation. he is a humble person as well, and hates receiving compliments because he doesnt think he deserves it. he can also be quite a playful person, as he gives nicknames to his friends and likes to play innocent pranks on them.
despite that, lay can be pretty slow. he doesn't catch up to what is happening to those around him until way later. he just goes with it. he can also be forgetful, he has forgotten numerous birthdays and even that he was going to meet up with friends. it's really a big problem. he also tends to bottle up his feelings, which ruins some friendships (i.e. his and zhiruo's friendship). he keeps everything bottled up until its bursts out, making him say things he doesnt mean. it's his worst trait.
love story.
zhiruo and lay met in school together. they lived near one another and would walk to school together every day. lay was two years older than zhiruo, but he was always there for zhiruo whenever she needed him. you could even say zhiruo harbored a small crush on him from the tender age of six, as he was the older boy who would protect her and talk to her. they were inseperable when they were young, and zhiruo wanted to do everything that lay did so that they could be together forever. she even followed him to multiple tv shows where he was performing so she could support him.
yixing appreciated zhiruo, as she was someone who encouraged him to keep going and it was nice having someone younger than him cheering him on. he felt like a celebrity. when he applied for sm entertainment though, he was pretty annoyed to find out that zhiruo had also applied to go there as well. while he was proud of zhiruo, he felt that she wasn't taking any of the performing seriously. all she did was follow him around and copy him, she wasn't her own person.
so, yixing did the worst possible thing.
zhiruo had invited him over to her house the night before they both were to go audition. he was going to sleepover and they were going to go together in the morning. however, after listening to zhiruo squeal over how she's going to meet boa and how they should be a duo, yixing had enough.
he burst out that she didn't have enough passion, she didn't deserve to audition and that she should really look at herself in the mirror and ask herself if she really thinks she has what it takes to become an idol.
zhiruo was shocked to the core. her best friend just told her that she wasn't fit to be an idol? something she looked forward to even before she found out that lay was also trying to break into the industry? she felt insulted. at that moment, all her feelings melted away. no more puppy crush, no more friendship. he obviously hasnt been watching her close enough to see that she HAD been putting in the effort, just because he would go hang out with the guys which would leave her all alone at lunch where she would practice when he couldnt see didn't mean she wasn't doing anything. he just didn't even try to understand her!
in a rare moment of bravery, zhiruo didn't even cry. she just told yixing to leave, quietly. she didn't even look at him. after his outburst, yixing felt terrible. he just ruined his friendship with his best friend because he was being selfish.
from that point on, they never talked again. when yixing would call zhiruo, he would get no answer. it was as if their friendship never existed. yixing went along and got accepted into sm entertainment while zhiruo got accepted into yuehua in 2009. the burning passion of proving yixing wrong still ablaze inside of her.

fast forward to 2019, fleur debut. unknown to zhiruo, yixing had been watching her activities from the moment she became a trainee. he kept tabs on her from her sisters, and was silently rooting for her. he even voted for her when she appeared on produce 101 china version (so close to where he was on idol producer). so, when fleur finally debuts, he actually greets her backstage with a bouqet of flowers. which lead the fleur members to think they are together. well, zhiruo just walks right by him without paying him a glance. yixing thinks he deserves it. rose apologizes and takes the flowers from him, and he asks her to tell zhiruo to call him please, they need to talk, and he leaves his number and retreats back like a kicked puppy. (he also can't help but think about how beautiful she blossomed, even if she can be a bit prickly)
this meeting shakes zhiruo. why the heck is yixing here? whats with those flowers? how did he find me? zhiruo doesnt know what to think anymore. however, after some prodding, (rose: you don't have to tell us everything, but I think you should meet with him. zhiruo: rolls eyes) zhiruo goes and meets with yixing in a family restaurant. yixing is only in s.korea for a limited amount of time, so zhiruo had to be fast.
at this meeting, yixing begins by apologizing, head touching the ground and everthing. he just wants zhiruo to know he didn't mean any of the words he said back then. all he wants is forgiveness, even if she wont give it to him. zhiruo has to think it over, but she agrees to them being friends again.
they end up getting stuck together on happy together together (+fleur members). this ends up in a game where yixing has to dedicate a love song to any of the hosts/guests. well, he chooses zhiruo. which causes some side eyes since when did they know each other. yixing begins to feel a slight pull towards zhiruo, and zhiruo is entranced by yixing's vocals. in the end, they are staring straight into each other's eyes, only to be broken by the hosts clapping. zhiruo is embarrassed beyond recovery. yixing is unbothered.
a few months later, yixing calls zhiruo out on a date out of the blue. he thinks he has to be straightforward, he emphasizes the DATE part of it. zhiruo is confused af but hesitantly agrees (after consulting members). yixing and her fly to china, where they visit the old park where they would play as children. there, they swing on the swings together and play on the slides where yixing gets stuck halfway down on. they are having a blast. at the end of the night, they are both laying on the grass staring at the stars.
while zhiruo is content and relaxed, she is unknowingly smiling at the stars. yixing catches her smile, and he can't help but feel so happy to be able to see her smile again. before he can help himself, yixing leans over and pecks her on her cheek. zhiruo is so surprised that he hits him on the chest making him groan in pain.
after the intial shock wears off, and yixing is left rubbing at his bruised collarbone, zhiruo hesitantly leans over and brushes their lips together. which turns into a full blown make-out session.
after this point, they both start going on dates whenever they can fit it into their schedule. they even refer to themselves as boyfriend and girlfriend. from what zhiruo knows, no plans of marriage yet. she doesn't know what yixing has planned as he has always been go with the flow. he might just get brave one day.

together, yixing and zhiruo are a cute and shy couple. yixing is usually the one who initiates the skinship while zhiruo is often left embarrassed and shy by it. yixing doesnt mind it and likes seeing her rosy red cheeks. yixing will often subtly mention zhiruo in passing while in interviews which cause speculation between fandoms. zhiruo can never mention yixing without getting super embarrassed. they never confirm to anyone though that they are dating, its a private thing between only them.
