NICKNAMES.
다안, 단, 단아 general nickname that has been stuck to her since she was a kid. da-an came from her surname and the da from dasom. which later on got transformed into dan and also dana. it used to be used by her family only when she was younger, but as she got older she prefers to be called as dana instead of dasom. though, she does not like it when people that she isn't close with calls her so.
단람쥐 a combination between the word 다람쥐 (squirrel) and the 단 from her nickname. it's common for idols to have their fans calling them out for their similarities towards certain animals. dasom was a squirrel, hence why they call her danramjwi. it is used in the fandom, but once in a while the group also uses it to refer her.
일진 basically, when rumors about big hit possibly debuting a girl group someone who she had bad blood with made a post regarding dasom's allegedly bad behaviour. that person stated that dasom was a delinquent through out her school days, from middle school to high school. enjoys bullying other students for fun, smokes near school ground, underage drinking and such. she did include receipts in her post, so people did believe what they read. dasom was still a trainee at that time the rumors were being spread hence why big hit never clarified it. since there was no clarification, people will keep assuming it's true until one day big hit decides to decline the rumors. but as for now, dasom is still known as an iljin by antis and non fans.

영어 advanced / fluent english was one of the language she learned since she was young, she had took english lessons that her parents made her do. when it comes to pronunciation, as she had learn english since she was young, her korean accent isn't that thick but there are hints of her accent just a tad bit. she also understands english well and her grammar is not perfect but is on the advanced level.
중국어 basic mandarin was also one of the language she had to learn when she was younger. she didn't really like it, hence why she didn't put that much effort when she learned it. all dasom can remembers from her mandarin lessons are the basics. she doesn't understand it that well, but her level of understanding in mandarin is enough for her to as for help if she goes to china. her pronunciation isn't the best however, she usually ignores the shengdiao. and dasom is also blind when it comes to the hanzi, so she can't really read the characters.

APPEARANCE. dasom's visual has oftenly been described as a pretty but with an antagonistic vibe. it may be due to her having a typical cold city girl look to her. pulling off a luxurious and high class fashion, having a fair cool tone complexion, had long locks in raven, and big eyes with sharp gaze.
other than that is also due to the fact that dasom isn't the type to flash a smile 24/7, as she isn't confident with her smile. she had always felt that she doesn't look the best when she smiles, especially after her cousin told her that even if she was genuinely smiling it looks like a forced smile. hence why, she doesn't smile that often, leading to people finding her intimidating.
dasom currently flaunts a very vivid and striking orange colored hair. despite her hair being naturally straight she prefers her hair to be wavy, hence why she always style her hair in the morning before going out.

from the very start dasom never intended to use the her brithname as a stage name. one of the reason is because sistar's dasom is already known for that name and she wasnts to have stage name that when people searches her name online, it won't show another person as a result.
she choses the name dana because it has been a nickname that stuck to her since she was little. the company also thought that the name dana suits her image rather than her birth name.

dasom started her training at a very young age of 11 years old. when she first decided to become a trainee her only goal was to feel the supposedly glam celebrity life, but she didn't think that there were hard works involved before she can become a part of the industry. yes she was still a young and innocent kid back then, she didn't expect things to be hard.
dancing had been her biggest issue. so far her only dance practices were from trying to copy other's choreography from videos she saw online. so when she entered the trainee life, she was introduced to multiple different dance techniques and was taught choreographies that she has never seen before and or she isn't comfortable of doing.
it was hard for her to develop her dancing as it was still all too foreign for her. she was slower than others when it comes to mastering the choreographies, she felt that she's so behind from the others and that really angred her.
she had thought of calling it quits just after two months being there. not only because she felt that she was behind the others, it was also because she felt like she is too young to be there. of course, there was a kid who is the same age of her, that kid was lee seoyeon.
she thought that she should at least be on the same level of seoyeon if she wants to keep training under yg, she's the same age as her but her league is way above her. dasom approached first as she thinks that being friends with her might help her improve, maybe this seoyeon kid would want to help her out.
and turns out, being friends with seoyeon didn't only helped her improve her skills but she also ended up finding a friend that means a lot to her. seoyeon was her first best friend and she was the reason why she wants to keep staying at yg, in hope that she could debut with her together.
after two years, she did improve her skills, a lot more than she expected herself to, but she eventually fall sick one day. she caught a fever and she thought that it was just a mere common cold and she doesn't need to worry about it. she continued to over work herself despite her condition and she eventually made her condition worse that her family forced her to leave the company.

big hit was her last chance, to prove her family wrong and that she can actually do this and become someone. hence this time around, she was more determined and more serious than before.
of course, she had gotten used to the trainee life. she knows what to expect and what she needs improving in. she knows her weakness and she wants to improve more than before and maybe if she does, she can finally have the confidence to actually believe that she can have a shot on debuting.
this time around, she tries to not view the whole training process as some kind of competition. she wants to try befriending more of the trainees, of course one of the reason is that she realizes that some were intimidated by her and she doesn't want them to have bad impressions towards her. she also worries that what if she actually debuts with them and there's tension between them. althought she knows it's natural that some people don't get along with one another, but dasom wants to try to reduce getting in to any conflict within the other trainees.
her biggest concern regarding big hit was, will they actually debut a girl group any soon? it has been heard within the trainees that they want to debut a boy group soon and they think it's likely because the whole glam scandal they've been very cautious about debuting the girls.
of course all she can do was hope that maybe one day big hit would concider giving the female trainees a chance also. but dasom realizes that debuting under big hit would mean that she would have to face people's high expectation as a sister group of korea's most popular boy group. she did concidered trying to move companies again, but she realizes that she can't always back out that easily just because she's impatient.
