kaeun is a laid-back, calm type of person. she isn't very social and outgoing, lacking in both of those, though you can't really say she's shy - just more on the reserved side. in social situations, she is more of a listener than a speaker and usually isn't the one to initiate conversations.

although she is generally non-confrontational, she is a bit narrow-minded, as in more often than not she thinks she's right and anyone with a differing opinion is wrong, so she won't back down until she proves she's right. besides that, she hates getting into fights/arguments, and tries to avoid them at all costs - but is also the person that would stop others from fighting and calm them down. 

 

if you ever need advice or someone to talk to, kaeun is the right person for the job. people say she is, although not much of a talker in larger groups, very well-spoken and has a way with words. she is insightful and altruistic - able to understand others and what they're feeling, and is always willing to help out anyone in need.

 

layla is the dad of the group. she takes good care of the members and is always there to lend them a shoulder or steer them in the right direction, but what makes her a 'dad' more than a 'mom' is that she is all about tough love. she isn't one to be very sensitive and tender with her members (and friends), but rather be realistic and a bit stern. 

 

what makes her even more of a 'dad' is how responsible and 'by the book' she is. never the one to cause trouble or let someone else cause it in her presence - definitely comes from her being the eldest of four kids. she always abides the rules and wouldn't break them if her life depended on it, which does translate to her being a bit of a party-pooper; it's not that she is no fun, just that she won't do something she generally isn't supposed to (e.g. - sneak out of the dorms, get drunk when they have schedules early the next day, etc).

 

kaeun is a strong-willed perfectionist. very determined to reach her goals, she does tend to overwork herself. exhausted to no end, she'd just continue working until she has perfected whatever she was doing. but she is patient, with her work as well as with people. her perfectionism shows in how organized she is - she has everything planned to a t, as well as having her living surroundings always clean and tidied up.

 

layla was born in brisbane as the oldest of four children. she has three younger brothers: liam (18), landon (16) and lucas (13). with her dad always away for work and her mom working long hours, layla had to take care of her brothers and practically raise them. she'd prepare their meals, walk them to and from school, clean after them, help them with homework, etc. her mom always told her that tough love is the best love, so instead of getting in her feelings when alone with her siblings, she learnt to be stern with them so that she'll get them to listen.

 

ever since she was little, layla loved singing around the house. there are countless home movies with just little layla singing her favorite disney songs while going about her day. her parents thought signing her up for piano lessons would be a great step for working on her musicality and so they did when she was about six years old. she really enjoyed playing the piano and grew a big passion for it.

around the time she was 12, during a trip to korea to visit her grandparents, layla went to an sm town concert held in seoul. she wasn't a fan of kpop at the time, but her cousin made her come along. seeing all those artists perform live really inspired her - their dancing captivated her and made her think that she could do that too. upon the first time she mentioned it to her parents, they didn't approve of her wish to audition, saying she was too young. 

 

layla started writing songs around the time she was 13. she had a notebook, which no one was allowed to touch, filled with mostly unfinished songs written by her. since she isn't really a person that shares her feelings that much, writing songs was her outlet for that - a way to express herself, although she didn't want to share them with anyone.

when she was 15, kaeun made a channel on youtube where she started uploading covers of her favorite songs. by the time she was 17, she had about 90k subscribers. although she never took singing lessons, uploading weekly covers and having strangers critique them in the comments and give her advice, really helped her improve a lot. (after debut, she still uploads covers on her channel, but rarely)

ever since that sm town concert in 2010, layla had been dreaming of becoming an idol. she did bring it up to her parents a few times, but they just brushed it off. when she'd talk about it more seriously, they'd tell her she can do whatever she wants after she turns 18 and finishes high school, but until then her only obligation is studying. so she worked hard in high school until she finally graduated in 2016. not even a few days after her graduation, layla sent in an audition tape to jyp entertainment - a cover of fergie's big girls don't cry. (she initially wanted to audition for sm but heard that they have unfair contracts in comparison to jyp so she changed her mind).

she was accepted and ended up moving to seoul to live with her grandparents so that she could train. she misses her parents and brothers a lot, but she takes any opportunity she has to fly back to australia to visit them, or if she can't, she makes sure to talk with them on skype almost daily. 

 

TRIVIA. 
 

VOICE. her voice stands out as it's deep and has a unique tone to it, as well as not fully matching her face. all that plus her aussie accent make her fans go uwu

PRODUCER. her dream is to one day be a known and respected producer (and have her own studio). some of her favorite producers in kpop are choice37, shinsadong tiger and teddy park. she also admires suga, g-dragon and b.i a lot as idol producers.

 

SCRIBBLE. she has a songbook in which she writes her songs and scribbles down ideas for future songs. it's her most sacred material possesion and no one is allowed to touch it (mostly because she is embarrassed of having other people read her songs unless she is 100% content with them)

 

GENRE. she doesn't have a specific genre of music she prefers as she can listen to anything from trap to rock to bubblegum pop. but her favorite types of songs are the sad but kind of fast-paced ones (such as 'i need u' by bts or 'killing me' by ikon) and she feels the most comfortable with such lunation concepts (if you're planning on including those kind of songs for the group, i'd suggest hann by (g)i-dle, mirror by fiestar, playing with fire by blackpink)

 

ARTISTS. her favorite western artists are post malone, ariana grande and the weeknd. as for kpop, her favorite groups are shinee, bigbang and exid. she is also a big fan of kim jonghyun and bang yongguk, they're her role models (she is very inspired by their passion for what they do and their artistry)

 

PUPPY. she owns a grey italian greyhound, named lumin. he lives with her and her grandparents, but she is planning on bringing him to the dorm once the girls move in (if pets are allowed that is)

 

ALCOHOL. layla loves drinking wine more than anything. it's her favorite alcoholic beverage, or beverage period. on her days off, her favorite pasttime is running a warm bath, pouring herself a glass of wine (well, at first. she brings the whole bottle to the bathroom just in case), lighting up a few scented candles and playing some slow, mood-setting music, relieving all her stress.

 

FOOD. italian cousine is her favorite cousine. she'd eat pizza or pasta over anything, almost any kind too. the food she absolutely can't eat is seafood since she is allergic.

SLEEP. she is an early bird and has no trouble waking up/getting out of bed. usually in charge of waking up the other members because of this. although she wakes up early all the time, it doesn't mean she has had a goodnight's sleep - she tends to have a hard time falling asleep but it's like her body is programmed to wake up rather early no matter when she falls asleep.

FORMAL. since she is such a rule-obsessed person and korea is very big on etiquette and cultural rules, she sometimes tends to take that a bit further. she uses honorifics and formal language with anyone she isn't close to, even people her age/a bit younger. the members and fans like to when she's talking formally to a younger person. although she didn't live in korea for the first 18 years of her life, her parents raised her to be awfully polite and taught her all about south korean etiquette to a t.
