PERSONALITY : 

When it comes to doing what he loves, Woohyun is a passionate individual. He has extensive knowledge of his career and knows it like the back of his hand. Woohyun holds himself in high regards of his talent and work, he can be nothing but the best of the field. Some people may be turned off by Woohyun's personality, but there is no doubt that he is a charming person. He knows exactly what to say and every social queue known to man. Socializing comes naturally to a social butterfly like Woohyun. He is outgoing, which makes him easy to talk to and have a conversation with. With his new roommates, when it comes to getting to know everyone, Woohyun is one of the first to do so. He is curious about everyone's backgrounds and life. 

To be a makeup artist, there is a certain level of creativity that is required. Woohyun has always been more art-centered, so it helps with his work. He is also a playful guy if a bit flirtatious. He has no sense of shame, so he will go ahead and tease his roommates whenever he can, be it trying to kiss their cheeks or making fun of their daily habits.  A negative of him is his self-centered nature. Woohyun comes first before anyone. If the house was burning down, Woohyun would save himself. Don't expect him to offer anything, especially money. Being interesting just comes naturally to Woohyun. He is quite quirky and is outside of the box. It's hard to understand him and nobody really tries to. Being outside of the box is where Woohyun wants to be. He's confident in himself and that's all that matters to him. So what if he likes makeup and taking care of himself? There 's no harm in any of it. Woohyun just can't understand why people are so judgemental.

Woohyun is an overthinker. He takes so long to make decisions and sometimes even ends up talking himself out of opportunities, which is how he lost his contract with MAC cosmetics. He is also prone to emotional outbursts and he lets everyone know how he is feeling. No one in the house will be in the dark about why Woohyun is crying on the couch and drinking champagne at 2 in the afternoon. His independence keeps him from relying on others. His mother always shouldering everything and trying to help him when he was little made Woohyun not ever want to see someone else suffer because of him. So, he doesn't need any help from others. He needs to learn to depend on people who are willing to be depended on.

BACKGROUND : 

Woohyun grew up in a single mother home. He was born on June 30, 1995 with no father. His mother has never told him the full story of his biological father, but all that Woohyun knows is that he was a one-night stand that ended up with a baby. He was the first and only born to Joori and the mysterious man, so he was spoiled as a kid even if his mother had to work two jobs to make ends meet. One of his favorite pastimes was the use of his mother's makeup when she wasn't watching him, and he would scribble all over his face, trying desperately to imitate his mother's precise hands. As the years went by, his interest in makeup only grew rapidly. He was innocent to the judgments of the outside world, as his mother had always been a supportive figure who encouraged his interests. She even bought him his own child makeup so he could "get ready with money" in the mornings. Once he started school was when the reality of the world hit him in the face. He got ridiculed so much for his love of makeup and was insulted with countless names that a child shouldn't have to hear. Without being affected by these insults, Woohyun was determined to follow his dream of being a makeup artist, no matter what anyone said. His mother always told him that he was the greatest and he knew best, so no one else's opinions matter.

Around the time that Woohyun was eight, his mother had met her current boyfriend. She had gotten pregnant a few months in and ended up having a beautiful baby girl named Leah. Woohyun was a er for her and once she grew old enough, Leah acted as his doll so he could practice on other people. She, along with his mother, was his biggest motivations in applying to cosmetology school. To show how serious he was towards his goal in life, Woohyun even applied for college as a theatre major so he could learn more about stage makeup and uses of it. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in theatre (performing arts) and got an associate's degree in cosmetology. Woohyun had all the experience and knowledge to become a renowned makeup artist. Once he got into the industry, that was when he could feel the pressure of social norms. He was lucky enough to be good at making connections since Woohyun was able to start his career with a contract with a minor beauty company in South Korea. 

While his career was taking off without a hitch, Woohyun did face some setbacks. His step-father was not as welcoming towards his choice in career but he wasn't cruel or mean about it. That didn't mean other people weren't. Woohyun had heard his stepfather discussing how some of his co-workers were ridiculing Woohyun about how he is so "feminine" and "gay" especially now that he is getting a job with makeup. Throughout college Woohyun would have constant stares and derogatory terms thrown at him for even being interested in makeup and wearing it. Even girls in his own department were rude to him when he was being "serious" about wanting to study cosmetology. These setbacks were another factor in Woohyun's determination to create an equal space for everyone. The men with their fragile masculinity and the women with confidence issues needed to realize that there was an incredibly thin line between masculinity and feminity, and in most cases, the two are intertwined into a single concept. Through his makeup, Woohyun hopes to change people's minds on what a person can be in their life.

His biggest supporter. She never abandoned her son when he was figuring out what he wanted to do in the world, and always was behind him when he was into makeup as a child. Joori is proud of what her son has become and hopes that he can achieve his dream. She gave up a lot in life to give Woohyun all that she could, so she just wants to see him happy. Once a week Woohyun will get together with her and his sister over dinner, or he will go home and stay there for a weekend. She babies him and spoils him still. Woohyun tries to buy her expensive items that she refuses to accept.

Leah and Woohyun are close. She has looked up to Woohyun ever since she was little and acted as his "doll" so he could practice. She wants to follow in his footsteps and become a makeup artist but also wants to create her own line of makeup that Woohyun can use. She usually calls him at random times to ask what he is doing where Woohyun will end up getting distracted by talking to her for three hours. She also joins in on the dinner dates Woohyun has with his mom.

The two of them are at a standpoint in their relationship where Woohyun doesn't bother him, so he doesn't bother Woohyun. He was never mean to Woohyun personally, but it is obvious that he does hold a sort of "disgust" towards Woohyun. Leon is barely around and Woohyun only ever sees him when he goes home. The two really only exchange a few "hellos" and "how are yous" before never talking for the rest of the time.

Eun Byul as Woohyun's bff is his match made in heaven. They are inseparable, and she helps get him deals and contracts when she can. She was an upperclassman in cosmetology school that took Woohyun under her wing. She and Woohyun like to gossip about clients and their lives with each other over drinks or coffee. If Woohyun leaves the house, its 85% likely that he's going to visit Eun Byul.

Jonghyun was Woohyun's first ever boyfriend and his most recent one. They dated for five years before Jonghyun broke up with Woohyun because he wanted to get married and start a life with a wife and kids. He also was never supportive of Woohyun's dreams and thought he was a fool for wanting to go into the makeup industry. Jonghyun was the reason why Woohyun has sworn off dating for now and wants to focus on himself until he has achieved his dream.

▸ "I don't have a set schedule. It's whenever I have an appointment. Clients will set up appointments and I will meet wherever they set up. When I'm hired by a company, those are when I have an actual schedule. Right now, no one has me booked"

▸ "It's not a big concern. I would love to get to know everyone and how their lives are doing. If someone wants to come listen to my woes, I will gladly listen to theirs. Have I innocently listened in on people's conversations? Don't worry about it."
