( style ) : to tell the truth, soohyun is not the best at matching her clothes or basically fashion. most of the clothes she wears usually are gifted to her from the mall/ designer that she modelled for. she always asks sejeong and dasom for any fashion or make-up tips. usually, she just asks them what to wear for the day. sometimes, she did follows from the fashion magazine that she got from dasom. she doesn't know what she likes to wear but most of the time, she wears something in pastels or dark colour. oh, she doesn't really like to wear heels and dress/ skirts but she had to wear them when she is modelling.

( elaboration ) : if you ask the others' first impression on soohyun, they would probably said that she was cold and hard to get along with. she seems to have this confident and cold aura around her. sometimes people think that she is really rude and unfriendly, only because of her expression; which doesn't really show any expression. she has this stare that will send chills down your spine if you ever catch her staring at you. it was as if she was plotting to kill you in your sleep or something along the line. well, that's what people think about her. let me tell you the real soohyun. to tell the truth, she just had a hard time to express her true feelings so instead of showing them, she will just showed them the cold side of her because that was like the easiest thing to do since she has this kind of resting face (i'm sorry i just had to add this). yes it is true that she was sometimes expressionless and cold; being her introvert self. however, she was just awkward and didn't know how to communicate with strangers. she almost broke in tears when people insulted her for being cold and rude and literally in panic cause she doesn't know how to react to strangers. she didn't really meant to offense anyone with her outer personality. she admitted that she might come off as cold and blunt if anyone did try to mess with her. it's not her fault entirely. that was just how she protecting herself from stranger and people she was not comfortable with.

if you ever get to crack her hard shells, you could meet her soft and possibly vulnerable side of hers. she was actually quite caring, reliable, kind, humble, protective, supportive, sympathetic and thoughtful. she always put other people before her and never left a friend or person she cares behind. because of her independent self, she could be the type where people will rely on and seek when they have a problem. however, it is quite hard for her to rely on someone and most of the people she relies on are the people she close with. she was really caring, protective and supportive towards people she cares. sometimes people said that she was gifted with all the talents she currently possesed but all of it came from all the hard works she did for the past few years. she was not a good rapper, dancer and singer when she started being a trainee. there was like zero talents in her but after the hardwork and sacrifice she had been through, she finally could be proud of herself as a trainee even she didn't debut yet. after achieving these talents, she was still humble about it and didn't really like to show it off cause it makes her felt weird. she was quite thoughtful when she was choosing a gift for people she cares. however, that didn't meant she was a mother to her group of friends or people she cares about. you could say she was kinda the hidden mother figure when she feels like it. this is because she is still a bit childish but not most of the times, insecure about herself, indecisve when she needs to choose something, clumsy at things that requires details work except drawing and always sleepy when she attends her classes or during a talk (anything that has a long talk will makes her sleepy). she didn't know why but she did feel sleepy and eventually fell asleep. she is quite secretive but herself. one of the reasons was that she didn't think she was an interesting person at all and she did have a trust issues even to the people she was close to. she had a bad memory with trusting people where she was left alone by her friends in the middle of the woods when she was around 7-8. she was nearly being attacked by a tiger when the people found her. from that day, she have a trust issue which she sometimes desperately wants to make it disappear. she is a bit blank sometimes and pondering in her own world. so, you could probably catch her off guard. she did had her own quirkiness and sometimes could be 4d and unpredictable. that is only if she is with people she close with. oh did i tell you that she is savage? i meant- she could hurt you with not only physical but also with her words. overall, she was cold and introvert at first meeting but i assure you that she was caring and reliable person to be with. forgot one thing. remember that she does stare at people? well, that is because she has a slightly bad eyesight but she always wears contact lens. whenever she is staring/ glaring, that's means she doesn't wear one and forget to wear her red round-rimmed glasses. i think she would eventually get comfortable with the people and the surrounding so she would express herself a bit more but she will still hold the ice princess title sometimes.

( background ) :

she was born a month earlier than her supposed date. fortunately, she was born without any flaws except for her blankness and slowness in thinking ha. she was raised in busan with her family along with her grandparents who owned a farm. you could say she was a country girl before she moved to seoul. she usually helped the works at the farm like planting the crops and taking care of the sheeps. this is mainly where she got her strength and stamina. it is also one of the reason why she is close with gugudan's sejeong. her mother also owned a flower shop which received most of the people in busan's favor. when she was around 7-8, her father left her family for a woman and money after making the family suffered with the financial problem. it was really a devastating memory for her and it became one of the reasons why she didn't open up to people easily, trust the people and having a partner in her life. she was afraid the same thing would happen to her. when she was in school either primary or high school, she was not one of the noticeable student because she was always alone. that was because she isolated herself from the others. she felt that it was pleasant and peaceful to be alone rather than being with fake people. she wore a thick glasses with a hair tied into a ponytail. whenever people befriend her is either to copy her homeworks or just basically using her. so, she preferred to just be a lone wolf and was kinda like to be independent. it was sad to say but she did get bullied when she was in school. basically, people didn't have a life and attacked her for no reason. she didn't do anything wrong to them but for them, everything was wrong. she suffered from depression with the school and the bullies she got. she was nearly commit suicide but later on decided to against it since she didn't want to leave her mother and family alone. she was basically the common female student with an average score except she didn't have any friends.

as music was her only escape from the reality world, she learnt about kpop on 2007 through super junior's happiness and marry u. although she lived in korea, it didn't meant she knew about kpop becasuse she did only listen to what her grandparents and mother listened to which was basically trot songs. she only knew about the k-dramas. however, that didn't really being the cause of her dream to be an idol/ singer. the one who lit up the fire in her was shinee especially minho during their debut song 'replay' on 2008. the song was about a younger boy who loves a noona and she was younger than them but besides that, she started to have a dream about being an idol/ singer. she knew music could do a lot of things to people and healing was one of them. she began her journey as a shawol by buying albums and went to a fanmeet which her mother allowed her to go suprisingly. it might be that her mother noticed the happy feeling from soohyun whenever she listened to them. she did told her mother about her dream. her mother allowed her to be a trainee but not after she finished her study in high school. after graduating from high school, she applied for the same uni as sejeong and took music as her major, moving out from busan to seoul. she could be a doctor with her result but she chose to the path to be a singer instead. this was where she met sejeong and started to be friends. this was also the beginning of her independent life where she worked at a bookstore and a part-time cashier girl at a cafe to pay her small apartment that she rented alone. because she was lonely, she bought a male havanese puppy to accompany her which she named as sora; means sky in japanese. she found and took care of a female maine coon cat at the alley near her apartment which she named as JOA. LUCKILY FOR HER, THOSE TWO PETS OF HER GET ALONG WELL. when she was working at the cafe, a female approached her and asked her if she was interested in being a model for a magazine or a mall. since she desperately needed money to pay THE rent AND STUFF, she decided to accept the offer. AT THE END OF 2013, she got street-casted BY sm ent. when she was on her way back to her apartment from securely receiving her driving license. this was basically her only chance to fulfill her dream or so she thought. WELL, SHE DIDN'T KNOW SHE WILL BE A TRAINEE FOR ALONG TIME. TO MAKE IT WORST, SHE WAS NOT GOOD IN SINGING, DANCING OR RAPPNG BUT SHE DID GET SOME COMMENTS THAT SHE HAD A FLOW/ SWAG WHEN SHE WAS RAPPING AND SHE WAS ADAPTABLE TO DANCE QUICKLY. so, this is the beginning of her training life TO THE PATH OF BEING A SINGER/ IDOL.

( likes ) :

• music | she loves music a lot that she literally listen to different kinds of genres; from pop, ballad, jazz, classical and etc.

• food | she has a suprisingly big appetite when it comes to food. if she can, she wants to try a lot different types of food except for spicy food and something that is too exotic for her.

• plushies | she has a collection of plushies in her bed. it is either on her bed or arranged next to the bed.

• anime/ manga | these two things are the main reasons why she wants to learn japanese. she likes japanese music becauSe of this too.

• sports | she likes them especially volleyball but she's not good at them. she does knows a bit about the sports tho and she's just simply lazy to move.

• games | she is a gamer but doesn't really shows it. she does have a psp and ps4 which she bought with her own money.

• pets | especially dogs, cats and ferrets. she wanted to own a pet but couldn't do it because her mother is allergic to furs and she has an asthma. she did have two pets of hers when she moved to soeul.

• chocolate | this is one of the favourite flavours of hers either for food or drinks.

• coffee | this is also one of the favourite flavors of hers. she will drink a coffe at least once a month. she prefers mocha than black coffee.

• cute things | cute things always have a special place in soohyun's heart. she just really adores them. she could often be seen either internally fangirling or directly fangirling over them. her definition of cute things is in a wide range.

• ARTS | SHE DOES LIKES DRAWING AND MUSIC. SO, IT WAS ONLY NATURAL FOR HER TO LIKE ARTS TOO. SE DID TRIED TO PAINT BUT SHE DISCOVERED THAT WAS NOT GOOD AT COLOURING.

• FLOWERS | BECAUSE HER MOTHER OWNED A FLOWER SHOP, SHE IS PASSIONATE ABOUT FLOWERS AND KNOWS A LOT ABOUT THEM. SHE ALSO KNOWS HOW TO TAKE CARE AND PLANT THE FLOWERS PROPERLY. SHE PLANTED A FEW SMALL AND SIMPLE PLANTS LIKE CACTUS ON THE CORRIDOR OF HER APARTMENT.

• photography | she likes taking pictures of the scenery and her surrounding. it is either with her phone or camera. most of the pictures she took are the sky. this is why she doesn't really like to selfie or people taking her pictures without permission.

• liars | please don't lie to her. she really hates being lied to. she might accepted you back as her friends but she won't be as close as she was to you before. you won't get her trust back easily.

• rude/ arrogant/ annoying people | these are just the types of people she hates the most. her bluntness and coldness will be doubled if she ever encountered them.

• anyone who hurts people she cares about | she might hunt you down if you did. either physically or with words. both of them will hurt you tho.

• too much romance | she does like to watch romance things sometimes but if it is too much, she despises it.

• too hot weather | SHE DOES SWEAT A LOT EVEN IF SHE DOESN'T DO ANYTHING THAT COULD MAKE HER SWEATING. SHE PREFERS COOL WEATHER THAN HOT WEATHER.

• people touched her stuff without permission | she despises it a lot. her stuffs are hers to begin with. if you want to borrow or touch them at least let her knows first.

• too much skinship | she could handle a few skinship here and there but if it was too over-exaggerating, it becomes a nuisance and annoying to her. she didn't really initiate the skinship but she could if she feels like it.

• humming | SHE DOES HUMMING SOFTLY EITHER TO A SONG OR RANDOM TUNE. ESPECIALLY WHEN SHE IS DRAWING AND PLAYING GAMES.

• scratching any part of her head | this is literally when she is confused/ annoyed/ feeling awkward.

• falling asleep | SLEEPING IS LIKE A NATURE TO HER. I MEANT- SHE COULD FALL ASLEEP IF SHE WAS IN A CLASS OR A CEREMONY. DESPITE THIS, SHE HAS INSOMNIA WHICH COULD BE THE REASON WHY SHE SLEEPS IN DAYLIGHT.

• biting& her LOWER lip PART | SHE DOES THIS WHEN SHE IS EITHER FOCUS ON SOMETHING OR FEELING AWKWARD/ NERVOUS.

• playing with her hair | this is an unconcious habit of her. she always either playing wither the tip of her hairs or the bangs.

• singing along | she does sing along if she is lsitening to music. even the lyrics or pronounciation is wrong or she doesn't know the full lyric, she just sing along. but, she didn't sing along when there are a lot of people around cause she is shy.

( hobbies ) :

• listening music | music is the only platform for her to escape the reality. so, she usually could be seen listening to music through her earphones/ headphones.

• playing any sort of games | yup, she is a gamer girl. once, she wanted to open a youtube channel for gaming but didn't think it was a good idea since she was busy with training and modelling.

• reading fanfics | aha what could you say? she is a normal fangirl. she always read fanfics which is mostly about anime/ game/ movie's characters but sometimes she did read a few about idols. this is the only way for her to reveal her fangirl side.

• drawing | she does draws something either on a paper or on her hand or others'. she didn't take any lesson about drawing. she just learnt them from the internet. she had an insta account of her drawings but she later on deleted them.

• taking a nap | if she is tired or bored, she could just fall asleep while thinking on what to do.

• surfing the internet | there are a lot of things to search on internet. either watching youtube, watching movies, scrolling twitter/ instagram or a lot more. she does this to get some updates about news and things that happenned.

( trivia ) :

• she was supposed to enter produce 101 season 1 with her unofficial 7-members group from c9 ent. but after a few trainees from the team left the group, c9 decided to not participate because they think the remaining trainees were not ready. it was making soohyun to be depressed but she didn't want to give up yet. so, she continuing her training.

• unfortunately for her, all the trainees for the group left the company except for her. to say that she was depressed was an understatement. she was actually going through a depression because of this.

• she is friends wiTH SM ARTISTS and trainees, sm rookies and MOON GAYOUNG (but not really that close because it have been quite a time not meeting them).

• she was supposed to be a member of smrookies but she left sm because of some issues.

• she was not easily scared but instead she feels excited. so, that's why she likes horror movies and extreme activities like bungee jumping. she said that she likes the feels of adrenaline.

• sHE IS BASICALLY A FAN OF KPOP IN GENERAL. SHE LIKES A LOT OF GROUPS EITHER GIRL GROUPS OR BOY GROUPS. SHE DOESN'T REALLY STICK TO THE STANDARD WHERE A FAN COULD ONLY STAN ONE GROUP.

• she has a male havanese dog named as sora and a female maine coon cat named as joa. usually, when she is not at home, dasom will take care of them. if both of them busy, she will just bring them to her work or her older brother will be the one who take care of them.

• she has a blackbelt in taekwondo. she took a lesson in taekwondo when she was around 9-10 because of she wanted to protect her mother and family. she eventually quitted the club when she was moving to seoul.

• she knows how to play guitar and piano. she always borrowed her brother's guitar to play it.

• she has a tendecy to cuddle or snuggle onto things that makes her comfortable either a couch, her plushie dolls, her pets, a bed and even someone's arm/ shoulder.

• gugudan's sejeong was soohyun's no.1 pick when she was in pd101 s1 along with the pristin, loen's park soyeon, fantagio's lee soomin, weki meki's yoojung, doyeon and g idle's soyeon (for the one she can votes a lot). for s2, her no.1 pick was wannaone's woojin along with jinyoung, jaehwan, jihoon, guanlin, cube's yoo seonho, nuest and jung sewoon.

• she had a car accident with her mother and younger brother in their journey to go back home from buying groceries. luckily, none of them were hurting badly; just a few scratches here and there. because of this, she is easily to feel aches onto her back and waist when doing something that could put pressure onto them.

• she is not really choosy when it comes to love. tbh she never thinks about it before. she doesn't even have a preference. she just hope that her partner won't treat her badly and left her just like what her father did to her mother. oh, she did feels weird when her partner is younger than her for a few years.

( relations ) :

• JOO MI RAN | 52 | MOTHER | ALIVE | fc - jeon mi seon | Soohyun loves her mother a lot. she would do almost anything to make her happy. she hates her father for leaving her family but was glad that he did because her mother doesn't have to deal with any problems relating to her father. her mother owned a flower shop and most of the flowers sold there were planted at the yard behind the shop. soohyun always helps her mother at the shop. the presence of her mother and the flowers sooth her mind and body. if she has any holiday or is free from the training for a few days, she would go back to busan and visit her mother and her family. her mother is allergic to furs and jhas an asthma. so, soohyun always told/ reminded his younger brother to take care of their mother and to help her at the shop.

• JOO DAE HYUN | 24 | OLDER BROTHER | ALIVE | fc - yoon shi yoon | DAEHYUN WAS A FORMER TRAINEE OF jyp MEDIA ENT. FOR THE PAST 6 YEARS. HOWEVER, HE EVENTUALLY STOP BEING A TRAINEE WHEN HE WAS 22 BECAUSE HE WAS HOSPITALIZED FOR TOO FORCING HIMSELF IN TRAINING. THEIR PARENTS FORBID HIM FROM BEING A TRAINEE AGAIN OR DOING ANY EXTREME ACTIVITIES. WHEN SOOHYUN HEARD THE NEWS, SHE WAS REALLY WORRIED ABOUT HIS BROTHER AND HAD ASKED FOR PERMISSION TO SKIP THE TRAINING CLASSES TO TAKE CARE OF HER BROTHER AT THE HOSPITAL. IT WAS DEVASTATING FOR DAEHYUN TO KNOW THAT HE COULDN'T BE A SINGER BUT HE DIDN'T WANT TO DISOBEY THEIR PARENTS. HE TOLD SOOHYUN TO NOT GIVE UP HER DREAM ON BEING A SINGER. AFTER HE HAS RECOVERED, HE PURSUED ON BEING A VOLLEYBALL PLAYER AND EVENTUALLY CREATED A NAME AS HE IS CHOSEN AS THE OFFICIAL MEMBER FOR THE NATIONAL TEAM. HE IS REALLY SUPPORTIVE TOWARDS SOOHYUN and had proclaimed himself as her no.1 fan.

• JOO HA MIN | 17 | YOUNGER BROTHER | ALIVE | fc - ahn hyeongseop | HE IS A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT WHO ALWAYS SLEEP IN HIS CLASS BUT STILL GET GOOD GRADES. HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH SOOHYUN IS OKAY. DESPITE HAMIN COULD BE ANNOYING THE LIFE OUT OF SOOHYUN, SOOHYUN STILL LOVES HER BROTHER A LOT tho and that the same goes to hamin even both of them said they hate each other. HE ALWAYS PULLS PRANKS ON SOOHYUN EVEN HE KNOWS SHE HAD QUITE A TEMPER SHE WAS IN ANGER AND BECAUSE HE KNOWS THAT HIS SISTER LIKES CUTE THINGS, HE ALWAYS DOES THE AEGYO OR THAT PUPPY EYES WHEN SHE WAS NEARLY GOING TO BEAT HIM UP; OF COURSE NOT IN A BAD MANNER THO. SOMETIMES HAMIN DOES NEED TO BE BEAT SOME MANNER INTO HIM CAUSE HE IS KINDA ANNOYING IF HE IS NOT SLEEPING. a few nicknames that soohyun gave to him were the white boy from juon and dumpling flour while hamin called as ice block or ugly siri. well, both of them love to sleep so it is cute to see when they did fall asleep next to each other or in the same room like the living room. oh, hamin wanted to be a singer too and he is excited to be a trainee. however, when he saw the struggles of his brother and sister, he decided to be an actor who could sing and dance if he wanted to.

• kim sejeong | 22 | best friend | alive | she is a member of gugudan and a former member of i.o.i. they are best friend when they met up at the Hanyang's women university which soohyun just attended for a year and had to change her university because of some issues with th schedule. they became friends despite soohyun's cold exterior. eventually, she softened and opened up to sejeong when she the efforts of being friends with her from sejeong. sejeong always motivates soohyun to work hard during her trainee days. a few reasons why they connected with each other was because both of them don't have a father, their dream of being an idol/ singer and they were raised in the countryside. they support each other a lot.

elaboration: jaemin is an energetic, hyper, friendly, kind, cheerful, bright and helpful person. he likes to help people a lot and always have this happy aura around him when he smiles which is contagious to people around him including soohyun. he is always being seen to be in high energy which makes sohhyun thinking; 'where did he get those energy from??'. he is your typical hyperactive dorky kid who always makes people smiling or feel happy with his smile. oh, he was also quite quirky, unpredictable, a bit clingy, cuddly, flirty and could be savage especially to his friends/ members. he did has his weird moment and not many can predict what he would do next cause he is just that unpredictable. he could be a bit clingy , cuddly and savage to people he really close with. he did becomes clingy and cuddly towards soohyun which almost scared her off for the sudden skinship like hugs and leaning his head onto her shoulder. because of his flirty self, people might think he is gay for s (lol) when the truth is she just loves them a lot and wants to always shows them how he feels. he explained this to soohyun and she thinks that it was such a cute move from him even he could be annoying sometimes by following her around the the sm building except for toilet (luckily). she thought that he almost resembles as a puppy just like her pet which makes her wanted to pet and coo him most of the time but she did restrained herself.

( love story ) : they met at sm ent. when soohyun joined the company and started being a trainee there on 2014. at first, jaemin didn't really noticed soohyun's because of her quietness and she tend to be alone but when he did noticed her, you could say he found her interesting? he always kept his eyes on her and wondered if she ever smiles or showed any emotion before. that was one of the reasons why he approached her in the first place and started the friendship between them. soohyun was suprised that one of the famous trainees talked to her. she just had this mindset to not get too close with anyone and she won't get hurt. so, she preferred to be alone and kept to herself. when jaemin started talking to her, it was natural for the others to follow his step. most of the people who became her not-so-close friends were close to jaemin. honestly, she didn't know either to feel happy or uncomfortable with the amount of jaemin's group of friends (nct and others). nonetheless, she felt grateful to him for helping her to make friends. when the bullying occured, he didn;t even know about it till someone pointed it out to him. he felt furious and it was really rare to see him being mad. his friends (nct+hansol) felt weird when they saw him like that. jaemin's didn't know why but he had this urge to protect the quiet girl when he first saw her. when his friends joked around saying he was infatuated with the girl, it suddenly hit him, hard. he had a crush on her. starting from this acknowledgement, he started to become flirty and affectionate towards her. although he was younger than her, he tried to be friend with her and even use informal speech when talking to her. as he said 'i don't need to use banmal to a girl i like'. it was quite a shock for soohyun when he just simply said that to her. of course like any other people, she would feel flustered about the sudden indirect confession. it did made its awkward for her as she only thought him as a younger brother figure. to make her felt more awkward was that jaemin was 3 years younger than her and she afraid people would call her pedo or something which of course no one would call her that. she was just really flustered and didn't know what to do since she never get a confession before. despite her awkwardness to that fact, she didn't really pushed him away cause she felt bad if she did but she did act like she didn't know about his feelings to her and jaemin knew about this. he knew the girl would feel awkward but he still pursued for her heart. most of the interaction between them were made by the boy but sometimes the girl did initiate something like giving him a towel or a soda can before walking away from there with a sligth hint of blushes. the boy's friends were teasing him and found it amusing to see the interaction between them. the boy was glad that he was finally be able to make her opened up to him even not that much. he even got to give her presents like ryan plushie which she normally rejected them. it was not that she didn't like the gift. she just don't want him to waste his money fo her. when the incident happened, jaemin and his friends were not there to defense like they usually did. all they were that soohyun left the company and the case was considered as another secret of sm ent. he wanted to give a piece of his mind to the bullies but luckily, the others held him back. his friends knew how devastated he was when the girl left the company and tried to keep him motivated and happy as he was before. he became quiet and gloomy because he couldn't meet her at all now that she left. he didn't even get to know her phone number since he always could detect her from afar and that was one of the stupidest things he did which he admitted. when he got a message from an unknown number on a kakaotalk app that said she was soohyun and apologizing to him, he immediately brighten up and became his usual self again. they always chatted through the app and did meet up at a cafe that not many people went to or at the time not many people were there. usually, jaemin bring along his nct friends (mostly dreamies; coughhaechancough00linercough) to accompany him while soohyun always bring her pets either one or both. oh, she did feel something warm in her when she is with him and since she didn't know how the love feeling or how liking someone feels, she just thought it is a wierd feeling of a pedo (lol). so, she always denied those feelings.

( ending ) : i badly want a sad ending but nope. my heart can't take any heartbreak anymore after watching a lot of kdramas. so maybe they will ended up together but it takes a long time cause neither did ask about the important question? suprisingly, jaemin didn't ask the question too cause he was really nervous and self-concious about it and that the same goes to soohyun. uhmm they could started dating then but keeping it as a secret as to not disappoint the fans. and i dunno if they could reveal their relationship tho ;; so maybe just dating in secret...

( Introduce yourself to the viewers! ) : oh right... /clears my throat and bows a bit/ h-hello everyone. it was nice to meet you. i'm joo soohyun but you can call me iris if you like too.. /internally panicking/

( HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT SPECTRUM AND WHY DID YOU JOIN THE group? ) : i found out about the spectrum from my friend who sometimes works at cj e&m ent. as a make-up artist. she told me about a girl group that will be formed from different companies without a survival show. actually.. i was interested to join produce 101 and produce 48 but i didn't get the chance to do it. i don't know when i will debut as an idol or if i even get to debut, so i decided to join this group. i did beg to my modelling manager and company to let me do this. if i didn't get chosen, i won't quit obviously.. i will still strive for my dream.

( DO YOU HAVE PREVIOUS PERFORMING EXPERIENCES, SUCH AS BEING A MEMBER OF A PAST GIRL GROUP, solo performance, mv cameos, eTC? ) : well.. /ponders/ to tell you the truth, i did make a few cameos in a few kdramas and being a back-up dancer for a few artists like sistar and orange caramel. uhm i remember doing a busking for a few times but i stopped cause i was embarassed to sit in the middle of the crowds. most of the time, i wear a cap and mask to cover my face.. oh, i almost forgot that i did a few cfs but stopped accepting works like that but i guess being an idol, i need to familiarized myself with it. i do still working as a model for the magazines or some malls. /nods herself/

( why should cj e&m entertainment choose you? what makes you different from other trainees we've interviewed?) : oh.. about this uhm /clears throat and a small smile form onto her lips/ i'm not a really confident person to begin with and i don't really have much talents to show off in the beginning. however, i do believe what talents i have today and confidence that i build are all coming from the hard works. i'm quite a hardworking and passionate person when i put my mind on something. you do realize that i don't really express my feeling that much right? that is one of my uhmm charms to attract people to like me. if people did dislike or hate me.. /shrugs/ well that is not my fault. that could be their own problem for having a heart to hate on people rather than having positive things in them. i had gone through a lot during these tranee days and i think i'm ready to debut either as a solo or in a group. But of course, it is all the company decision either to let the trainee debut or not. I won't give up and I keep on holding onto my dream of being a singer.

how do you feel about being placed in a group of girls from other companies? ) : huh... i'm not comfortable with strangers but i am willing to challenge myself if i have to. i don't really mind the noisiness of the members, as long as i get some alone time and my beauty sleepy. anyone who will be roommates with me can be messy but if it is too much, i might have to forced her to clean it up. they also need to not touch my stuffs without my permission.other than, i'm okay with it i guess. oh, i can cook a bit so i might cook something for the members. of course i might need a recipe to follow if it is a dish that i didn't make it before.

( trainee years ) : 4 years (2014-current) | 1 YEARS 9 MONTHS (SM ENT.), 1 year 2 months (c9 ent.)& 1 YEARS a month (pledis ent.)

( trainee life ) : she started her trainee life at the sm ent. where she was street-casted. she auditioned with a song entitled maybe by sunye for singing and shinee's replay for dancing. her voice was not that good so the judges (i dunno...) told her to try rapping by looking at the lyric. she did and they gave comments that she could be a rapper if she trained really hard. eventually, she got accepted into the company to be a trainee. it was a whole new world to her as she didn't really like to move a lot. she had a packed schedule as the sm staffs thought she could became another jack-of-all-trades. because of her packed schedule, she had to transfer to the uni which classes could be flexible or online with her schedule and had to be near the sm ent. building. she didn't live in the dorms provided by sm tho because she already have an apartment. is she never gone back to her apartment, dasom or daehyun would stay there to take care of her pets. she eventually stopped her works at both bookstore and cafe, focusing on training and classes. the bullying happened again when she was a trainee. the causes were mostly because she didn't show any feelings and didn't really interact with anyone except the trainers but she still became one of the most trainee that people wanted to be friend with and even became the one who didn't have any talents to talented person.she didn't wear her glasses that often when she was training but occasionally she did ear them. the bully also was one of the reasons why she didn't really like to stay in the dorms. she didn't really want to cause a trouble while being a trainee. so, she just endure the bullying. however, she did make some acquitances with the girls and boys there tho. they did tried to defense her from the bullies but most of them didn't want to cause any troubles too. the bullying got intense when she was close with smrookies, the one which surely to debut group mixed with girls and boys. she was supposed to be a memeber of the group but after the incident, she ended up leaving the company. the incident was that the bullies did their usual things to her; mocking and vandalizing her stuffs when soohyun saw that her ryan plushie was torn apart, she started to lose her cool and a fight occur between her and the bullies. well, it started with verbal fight by the bullies but when they started to go for physical fight.. you could say that they were damned as soohyun did know about taekwondo and with her strength, she could easily overpowered the 5-6 group of girls. she was sued by the parents' bullies for hurting their poor babies (ugh). luckily, sm didn't want this case to reach the media so they paid a lot of money to the parents to shut their mouth, kicking the bullies out from sm and that was the same for soohyun. sm did regretted to let her go but they need to save their image more.

later on, she auditioned for c9 ent. and was accepted to be a trainee there. you remember that she was supposed to go to pd 101 s1 right? the company made a team of 7-members which was supposed to debut afterwards. however, after a few trainees from the team left the group, c9 decided to not participate in pd 101 s1 because they thought the remaining trainees were not ready. it was making soohyun to be depressed but she didn't want to give up yet. so, she continuing her training like she normally did. she did begged c9 to let her join the program with the remaining trainees or alone but c9 seemed to have another plan for her. sejeong was sad that soohyun didn't participate in pd101 but she understood that it was all depending to the company. unfortunately for soohyun, all the trainees for the unofficial group left the company except for her. to say that she was depressed was an understatement. she was nearly gave up but when she got a lot of moral supports from her family especially her older brother, sejeong and dasom, she decided to still try her best to achieve her dream. after 1 year being under c9 ent., she left the company and auditioned for pledis ent., getting accepted into the company eventually. there, she got close with most of the pledis artists but mostly seventeen and pristin. she felt at ease being under pledis despite the company systems. the reason was because trainees and artists there accept didn't judge her but accept her as herself.

( strengths ) :

strengthness | she has a lot of stamina and strength because of her works at the farm. she doesn't mind being dirty at all but she despised leech a lot. she can carries someone who is heavier than her but not like do bongsoon (i love that kdrama). she can basically flip someone obver her shoulder in taekwondo style. so, people always wonder why she didn't play any sports. the answer is simple. its is because she is lazy to move.
high notes | this could be one of the unexpected talents of hers which she didn't even know about it. it could be discovered by playing the infamous high notes battle.
dance cover | she is good at it especially boy groups. it could be because she doesn't have to act too feminine for the songs. she can cover girl groups' songs too but only to some of the songs that she likes.
tumbling | because she joined taekwondo club before, the club teached her about taekwondo dance which used songs to dance mixed with taekwondo moves. so, it is natural for her to learn tumbling or cart-wheel.
rapping& dancing | of course, both of them are her specialty but it doesn't meant she is the best or something. she still nneed and want to learn something to improve herself.
impersonafication | either a movie charcter or cartoon character and real people, she could imitate them; not really perfectly tho. once, she imitate pennywise's voice and the mebers were terrified about it.
acting | however, she is not really that great. she was an average and learning wannabe-actress.

( weaknesses ) :

spicy food | she dislikes spicy food but that doesn't meant she wouldn't eat it. if she could, she wants to avoid it at all cost. all of her family members can handle spicy dishes well except for her. because of this, her family always by only cooking a spicy dish. she could eat them but you will see these symptoms from her; coughing a bit, her face turns red, eyes started to form tears, suddenly she has a runny nose and if the food is too spicy, she will ends up hicupping.
clowns | she had a bit traumatic past with a clown when she was around 9-10. she was lost in the middle of the amusement park which were crowded with people. as she was really not comfortable with strangers when she was child, she started to tear up while looking for her mother and brothers, clutching onto her only friend that time; a plushie of panda. she was greeted with a tall figure and when she looked up, she saw a clown wih a creepy smile while holding balloons. actually, the clown was not smiling creepily but he smiled in a friendly manner. she didn't hear what the clown was talking about because the next second the clown started talking to her, she just bursted into tears and a loud cries could be heard from her. poor mr. clown. he was just doing his job by being friendly to people but he ended making the little girl cried. till today, she wants to find the clown man and apologize to him for getting him in trouble with his employer. but her dislike towards clowns still remains especially when she just watched the it movie but ironically she can imitate the clown's voice.
mannequins | she doesn't know why but she hates those mannequins. it creeps her out to think that thing is just standing there while looking at people passed by it. sometimes, she swears she could see from the corner of her eyes that the eyes staring at her when she was near the mannequins. alas, she could be paranoid and watched/ played too many horrors movies/ games.
singing | she didn't really have a powerful voice but she eventually develop a good voice that is stable and pleasing for the ears to listen.
swimming | embarassing to admit but she doesn't know how to swim. it was not like she had a fear or trauma about it. it just simply because she got no time to learn swimming. to make it worse, she couldn't balance herself to float on the water at all.
cycling | and yes. she also doesn't know how to ride a bicycle. she always feels jealous towards people who can do these two things that she can't do. she was hoping to learn these two activities soon when she has a free time.
cute things | you know she likes cute things right? so, she basically would melt if she sees cute things. she might lose in a game or something if she did saw them.
flexibility | despite being good at dancing and taking the taekwondo dance, she is not flexible at all because she had left the taekwondo club for about 5 years now. so, she can't do some taekwondo moves cause of this. she can't even do splits properly without struggling. her body is not familiar anymore and she regretted quitting the club.

( predebut experiences ) : she was and still a model for some magazines and malls. so, that's why she used to the camera but did feel nervous sometimes. she appeared in seventeen's don't wanna cry mv (just a bit). a cameo for kdramas like school 2015, signal, cheese in the trap, oh my venus, sassy go go, weightlifting fairy kim bok joo and school 2017. in most of them, she appeared only in a short time. she did some cfs but didn't really like to take jobs in cfs cause most of the products or things she advertised were not what she used or never used them before. she did a few busking but with a cap and mask cause she was nervous and eventually stopped busking. she did became a back-up dancer for a few artists.

( stage name & explanation ) : iris | the reason why she choose this name as her stage name is because iris is one of her favourite flower. IRIS REMINDS HER TO EXPRESS HER TRUE COLORS. IT ALSO TELL HER THAT IT'S OKAY TO SHIFT AND CHANGE. IT ALSO REMINDS PEOPLE AND HER THAT SHE CAN BE BOLD AND SHARP-WITTED, YET SOFT AND DELICATE TOO. BASICALLY, IT REMINDS HER THAT SHE NEEDS TO HARMONIZING HER SHARP EDGES WITH HER SOFT SIDES. AMONG THESE FLOWERS, SHE LIKES BLUE IRIS MORE BECAUSE IT REMINDS HER OF FREEDOM, IMAGINATION, EXPANSION, DREAMS AND SENSITIVITY.
