Deleting for piece of mind

I've had this folder on my computer for years. It's full of half baked ideas, random sentences and honestly, a load of crap.

Lately, every time I click on the folder to attempt to write something, I've actually been getting intimidated by it. Just looking at all those half-written things just mocked me when I attempted to do something with them, or worse if I thought of yet another idea.

I finally took control of that folder today and deleted so many things from it. There are still 34 files in it, some of which are several first chapters to stories which have remained unwritten for longer than I'd care to admit, others are plans for stories that I fully intend on writing (and have been working on), but now I have control over them again.

When I opened that folder this afternoon, there was over 60 files in it.  I read every word of every file before finally deciding to delete the ones that I knew deep down in my heart that I just wouldn't finish or do anything with, and honestly, it's such a relief.

I'm hoping that by clearing out that folder that I've now cleared my mind a little and that I'll be able to get back into writing, as I've barely written a thing for over a month! (A small part of that is because I've started drawing again, but a big part of it was because I was intimidated by that folder.)

Sorry for the random blog post, but I had to get this out! <3
