Romantic and flirty: This is what Marelaine is known for. The ultimate seduction. Even when she was still an underage solo artist in china, she was known for her art of flirting. She flirted with the audience and fellow artists, because that's what made her so popular. Marelaine loves to see fans and just regular people swoon for her when she uses her advances, it brings her a certain thrill. The thing is, she sometimes does it too much and makes people believe wrongly, like a certain big brother. This results in misunderstandings and broken hearts, and Marelaine often thinks 'why do I keep doing this?' but she just can't stop her flirting. She's extra flirty and romantic with guys she finds appealing, so her closest friends can see who Marelaine likes the most by watching her flirts. Careless and arrogant: Of course Marelaine is not perfect, just like everyone else. Marelaine doesn't really think about the consequences of her actions, especially with her endless flirting. She never thinks of what could go wrong even if it has gone wrong before. Marelaine can't see it happening again, even though it keeps happening. She goes into things without thinking. She sometimes also says things without thinking. Most of the times, those things have to do with her looks. She can sometimes say arrogant things without realising they're arrogant and not just confident. It's just that she likes to boast about her looks so much, and sometimes she goes over the line. It's really too bad, but she always makes sure to apologise properly when she does offend someone.

Clingy and Possessive: arrogance is not the only problem Marelaine has to deal with, she's also very clingy and possessive. She really needs people around her, or she'll become stressed and sad. Because she needs people around her to feel good, Marelaine has become very clingy and possessive. She wants to keep the people she loves close to her, too close. She's afraid of separation and being left behind by the people she loves, so she keeps them close desperately, sometimes becoming too desperate, scaring the people she clings to off. Because she's possessive over her friends, Marelaine has also grown possessive over the stuff that's important to her. No one can touch her favourite clothes, no one can take a bite from her favourite food, more stuff like that.

BACKGROUND : Marelaine Li was born as the only child of a mixed race family, a rich one, living in a fancy penthouse in Shanghai. She was a beautiful and wellbehaved girl, but since she was half brazilian, people sometimes looked at her weirdly. Once they got to know that Marelaine came from a rich family though, they calmed down and treated her well. Marelaine's father is an actor, very big in China. His Brazilian wife is a doctor. It's a hectic family, but very loving and friendly. They raised their only daughter very well and she grew into a good person who wouldn't hurt a fly. Marelaine was obviously into music ever since she was a little toddler. The best way to calm her down when she was crying was to just put on some good music. Her parents thought that she would be into music for the rest of her life, and maybe even make it her career. And they were right.

Because her dad was a big actor in China, Marelaine herself played some minor roles when she was young as well, but her heart always lied with music. She was more than happy when her parents gifted her her first piano for her birthday, a beautiful cream colored piano that fit perfectly in the house. Marelaine loved to play on it all day, playing pieces she got at piano class, but also just freestyling. It was no surprise to her parents when she said she wanted to become a singer when she was 12. The problem was: she had no skills at all, and she was mixed race, so normally no company would accept her. When she was 14, after following dance and vocal class on her own, Marelaine decided that it was time to start training. It was 2013. She still wasn't exceptional, so the bigger companies rejected her, but then there was Summer star.

In Summer star, they had plans for a boy group, but because Marelaine was developing so well in training, they decided to debut her first, as solo artist. She was beautiful, special, had a huge voice range and could do all three fields decently. Summer star decided to debut her in summer 2015 with a strong, badass and empowering song, even though she was only 16 at that time. She looked more mature, and everyone always thought that was because of her Brazilian blood. The song was strong, and it received good response, partly because she was the daughter of a famous actor, of course. Marelaine was known, but it was not like she was the new it-girl of China. People seemed to be wary of her appearance, mixed race and very strong song and haughty concept. She was intimidating. Every comeback, Summer star toned her intimidatingness down, and increased the trendiness. Marelaine's first release was Queen of queens, exploring her rap and lower vocal range. In late 2015 she made her first comeback with Liu Xing, another song full of self-praise, but it was already less intimidating. In this song, Marelaine rocked the greyish blue hair with black roots, which contrasted greatly against her darker skin. It's definitely a look to bring back.

What made Marelaine explode though was her March 2016 comeback with me vs. me. A catchy bop, that's what it was. That was what Marelaine needed to gain the super star popularity. She was the monster rookie of China, conquering at fast speed. The next (and for now last) comeback came in fall of 2016, a double mv and one of the title tracks was a collaboration with one of the biggest stars of China, who would become like a big brother to Marelaine after collabing, while the other song was a complete turnaround from her usual concept. It was Show Luo. Their song was called handsome guy. Through just a year, Marelaine had aquired a huge following, being known for her visuals, voice and flirtiness on stage. But Marelaine didn't feel good anymore, especially after collaborating with Show Luo. She realised how lonely she actually was as solo artist, away from her parents, friends and fellow trainees. Marelaine didn't want to be solo anymore, but in a group, like her labelmates ZOOM. She released a song together with Namie Amuro before deciding to go look for a girl group to debut in.

After coming together with her parents and then having a good talk with Show Luo, Marelaine got adviced to leave Summer Star and go look for a company that would be willing to debut her together with other girls. The problem was that girl groups weren't really a thing in China, so Show Luo came up with the idea that Marelaine should go to Korea instead. Marelaine knew some chinese kpop stars quite well, like Jackson, Yixing and Qin Fen. They all said the same thing. It would be hard in Korea, but since Marelaine handled being a solo artist in China perfectly, they expected her to be able to handle it in Korea as well, and that the public would dig her. Not so long after, Yixing came to Marelaine with the news that SM was looking for new members for NCT's sister group. Marelaine didn't know of NCT, but when she looked them up, she got very interested. It was a huge group, so Marelaine would never be alone. She decided to try her luck somewhere at the start of 2017 after learning some basic Korean. She got accepted into SM and started training immediately, where she met the G-OK girls, NCT boys and even the group of Doyoung's big brother, 5urprise. She was popular amongst the trainees, the china line even being fans of her. Marelaine had the time of her life, even though the training was hard. After a year of training in the shadows and her chinese fans worrying about their star, Marelaine got announced as one of G-ok's members, and the fandom exploded. On one side, there were her chinese fans suddenly becoming 'GOKzens', but at the other side there was the terrible fanwar starting, the GOKzens who didn't believe in Marelaine vs the salty Amors (Amor is Marelaine's personal fandom name). Marelaine didn't like it at all.

Marelaine's best friend. They got to know each other at a young age when they started training at summer star and quickly grew close. The age difference wasn't like dangerously big but still, it was there. They dated in 2016 for 7 months and had an awesome relationship, but when Marelaine decided to go to Korea, Zihao decided to break up with her. He still likes Marelaine and there is some sort of tension whenever they see each other. Marelaine can't deny that she's attracted to him as well, but her heart is currently somewhere else. Sorry Zihao. At least they're still best friends.

In Marelaine's last solo comeback, she was offered to collaborate with huge veteran star, Show Luo. She was extremely nervous to meet him, but Show Luo, or Luo Zhixiang, was so friendly to her. He acts way younger than his age and is a silly and caring man. He took great care of Marelaine and gave her great advice when she was struggling. He adviced her to go to Korea and also recommended SM because he's good friends with Zhang Yixing, and Marelaine knows him as well. Show Luo has grown to be like a big brother to Marelaine, the big brother she never had. Their comeback was a little scandalous, actually, because it was y and all, but Marelaine at that time was 17, and show luo was 37. He has lived double her life, yet they are friends like there is just a few years difference. That's probably cause Show Luo acts younger than his age, and Marelaine older. Oh, and she also guested on a variety show where he's a fixed cast member.

Marelaine's closest friend in NCT is Doyoung, so after only a few weeks of being in Korea and under SM, Marelaine was already introduced to his big brother. A friendly, calm guy who's the typical second lead who gets ignored in dramas while doing everything for his love interest. Doyoung knows that his big brother likes Marelaine a lot, and Marelaine does love Gong Myung too. More on this at the love interest section.

comic relief : Kang Taeoh (24) / actor with 5urprise / funny, clumsy, airheaded / 9,5/10
All of 5urprise are really friendly to Marelaine, but out of the other members that are not Gong Myung, Taeoh is the one that got close to her. He makes Marelaine laugh at all times, even when she's feeling sad, and he really helps her with getting used to Korea. He might actually be her closest friend in Korea right now, even closer than she is with Gong Myung. Marelaine just feels at ease with this guy. He's also trying the hardest to set Gong Myung and Marelaine up.

Marelaine knew Yixing from before she went to Korea and joined his company, SM. Yixing is a great friend of Show Luo, and he met Marelaine when she guested on their variety show Go Fighting. They're friends, but they never had the time to grow closer. Yixing did help her with integrating into SM entertainment. He also introduced her to Jackson Wang to get even more advice. It's often a big surprise to people that these two already know each other, but honestly, all the Chinese idols in Korea squad together and plot to take over the world.

old man : Qin Fen (27) / member of awaken-f / silly, friendly, caring / 8/10
Qin Fen is another one Marelaine got to know thanks to the chain reaction Show Luo started when Marelaine was looking for chinese idols in Korea to give her advice. While Yixing showed her how it is to be in a big company and well-known, Qin Fen showed her the other side. Qin Fen used to be idol in Korea, but he got treated terribly and filed a lawsuit against his company. He might have hurted a lot, but Qin Fen is now a rising star in China and has completely bloomed. Marelaine is happy to see him happy, because she really likes Qin Fen and his old man jokes. They might grow even closer once they have the time.

Show Luo introduced Yixing to Marelaine, Yixing introduced Jakcson to her, and Jackson introduced Qin Fen to her. This chain reaction was all because they wanted to help Marelaine battle her loneliness. Jackson was the mood lifter at that time. Yes, he did give some good advice, but he was mainly by Marelaine's side to just make her feel better during the times of doubt. Because the other old men had no time to accompany Marelaine to korea, Jackson did it, only to return to China once he knew she had arrived safely. Rich people...

Poor Taeyong... Marelaine really feels for him and his counterpart, having to take care of so many kids is so tiring. They get along quite well and Marelaine tries to lift some of the burden on their shoulders by looking out for the dreamies. She sometimes even mothers older members. Auntie Marelaine is in the house.

Lucas is Marelaine's chinese buddy in nct, but they are very different from each other. They're both stunning, but Lucas is just such a noisy kid. Marelaine likes him and sees him as good friend, but the good friend that she can attack at any moment. Just like Avaron. Lucas is just such an idiot, asking to be kicked on the by the soccer player. Especially when he dares to flirt with little baby Minchi. Marelaine will kill him if he ever harms anyone. She's pretty much the only one that could overpower him and he would voluntarily give in.

Doyoung is definitely the one NCT member who Marelaine is the closest to. Not one of the dreamies, not the china line, but Doyoung. They just hit it off so well, and now often stick together. Marelaine is also eternally thankful for introducing her to the amazing group that is 5urprise. They just spend lots of time together just talking away, practicing Marelaine's Korean and Doyoung's Mandarin. They also text like the minute they leave each other. She texts more with Doyoung than any of her actual boyfriends and best friend. Doyoung might actually have a little crush on her but that is to be decided by our lord and savior Min. (even more drama?)

Jaemin is Marelaine's favourite dreamie and she takes care of him like a big sister and sometimes even a mom, even though they only differ a year (crazy, right?). Marelaine loves and babies all the dreamies (only Jeno tries to refuse her motherly love) but Jaemin is definitely special to her. When Marelaine joined SM, Jaemin was stuck with his back injury. They didn't meet as soon as she met the other members, but once she met him, Marelaine felt so bad for him. She just melted at seeing his sad smile, and she spent a lot of time caring for little nana when he was revalidating. Marelaine helped this poor child to get back out there doing what he loves with the boys he loves. She sacrificed part of her training time to help take care of this boy and making sure he got better.

TRAINEE LIFE : In Summer star, trainee life started out really harsh. Because they saw potential, they were drilling all the skills Marelaine needed into her head at a fast pace while she didn't have much knowledge before that. It was a heavy burden to carry Summer star on her back, but Marelaine fought through it with Zihao on her side and got to debut. Summer star really took advantage of what she had and sometimes Marelaine would get sick from overworking. In SM entertainment, Marelaine was very happy to not be alone anymore. She already had the skills down so it wasn't as hard for her as for others, even though it was still very tiring. She had it hard mentally at the beginning though. She was back to square one, with barely any knowledge of Korean and the country, and away from Zihao and Show Luo. She quickly got integrated in the group though and both NCT and G-OK loved her a lot, especially the china line, because they're her fans.

I explored Gong Myung more, made zihao her ex who still likes her and added some more solos and stuff for her. I hope you like that, Min! Also, how much love drama will be in the story can be decided by you, dear. Also, I don't know if secretly dating by the start of the story is allowed (I know openly dating isn't) so if that's not okay you can change that. I just thought that if she would get together with gong myung, break up and then get together with kun all after the start of the story that it would take too long.
