fluent, due to his family moving to sk at a young age, he had to learn. and since he still young, he was able to grasp the language with only a slight problem (due to him still preferring chinese characteristics). he mainly has problems with some pronounciation and he likes to just ignore hangul all together. he still has a heavy chinese accent when speaking korean.

APPEARANCE
at first glance, many people mistake tyler for a female due to his doe-like face. because of his deer-like appearance, it makes him popular with people and especially with the ladies (now if only he actually dated). underneath his plain wardrode is a lean physique, faint abs and muscles along his body. he has several moles scattered over his body, some in more embarrassing places than others.
only his right earlobe is pierced. tyler only has one tattoo, behind his left ear.
STYLE
tyler's wardrobe is pretty plain considering his pretty face. his clothes are usually baggy, hiding his lean body from prying eyes cause he doesn't like to show off.

tyler is extremely independent. he hardly ever asks for help. it mostly stems from him being so quiet and because of his arthritis, he just doesn't want people to try and help him just because he's in pain.

BACKGROUND
tyler grew up in the same town where jackson wang grew up in and his life was pretty normal. he had an older sister who cared for him, maybe too much, and a father who worked a little too much. his mother was always home, being the perfect little housewife for his father.
the only thing keeping the family normal was his father's job. then his job went down under when tyler was only five, his sister ten. came home drunk afterwards, angry and fighting with their mom. nothing bad happened until he tried to take it out on tyler. his mother had finally stepped in. she couldn't take it anymore.
after his parents' divorce, life became bit better than before. they moved to korea for a new start where his mother got a job, but she seemed happier which made her children happier. tyler was doing better in school (despite changing countries) and he was truly a happier child, despite still being quiet.
it was around the age of ten when tyler found a love for music. his mother always loved to play music whenever she was in the kitchen and tyler always loved watching his mother dance along to the music. he would sing along to the songs that came on the radio. it was what gave his mom the idea to send tyler to vocal lessons.
throughout the years juggling between school, he but he always made sure to have decent grades to make his mother happy. he was about to apply for college when his freends thought it would be cool to audition for a entertainment company. tyler went along with them because...why not? so they all went to an audition for jyp where tyler ended up being the only one accepted.

TRIVIA
· tyler suffers from chronic arthritis in his hands and feet. he has to take medication for it. he's in chronic pain because of the arthritis, but he's used to the pain. it's the reason for when he cracks his knuckles, they sound so bad.
· tyler is a clean freak. he cleans anything that he deems dirty or out of place. his bed is kept in perfect condition and will kick anyone in the shin if they get too close to his bed (so far, only jaebeom can get close to his bed).
· green tea is his absolute favorite thing in the world. it's what keeps him calm most of the time. number one thing to calm him down if he ever gets angry.
· despite never dated before, tyler considers himself biual. sometimes girls interest him and sometimes it's boys.
· played soccer in elementary and middle school. stopped when his chronic arthritis got too bad.
· stops by the jyp building to hang out with jackson and mark.
· despite him being able to do the same stuff jackson and mark can do, he hardly does it because of his arthritis.

despite tyler not needed protection, sum protects her lil bro anyways (she's a black belt in kung fu for a reason). to get on his nerves, sum still calls tyler tseng while he calls her dimsum. she pretends to hate the nickname, but she really does like it. especially when it's her lil bro calling her that.

tyler met jackson as children, growing up in the same place while he met mark as a trainee at jyp. they all trained together for a few years. despite tyler not making it into got7, they still remained great friends. despite jackson's loud personality, tyler enjoys his company even though he becomes quiet when jackson is involved. mark, on the other hand, is much calmer and tyler enjoys having good talk-to-talks with him. they both got super sad when tyler decided to leave jyp, but they give him good luck on debuting with bighit.

tyler isn't a social butterfly, but the other boys of butterfly effect make him feel accepted. they don't judge for his quietness or his arthritis, they make him feel like him! tyler became friends with the foreigners members first, but he's good friends with all of them.

tyler was the only one out of his friends to get accepted into their spur-of-the-moment idea to audition for jyp. jyp was really good to tyler. the company already had so many foreign trainees and artists, he felt like he belonged. his soft singing voice praises from all the instructors of the company, even jyp himself. because of health reasons, he didn't make it into got7, but he didn't let it deter him. he still trained and did his best.
in mid 2015, tyler decided he needed something different. auditioning for different companies, he was given a chance to transfer to bighit entertainment. despite really loving jyp and all the friends he made, he knew jyp wasn't the place he was going to blossom.

training at bighit entertainment was hard at first. he didn't have any friends and there weren't as many foreigners here like at jyp. despite never meeting another chinese trainee, he did become close friends with other foreigner despite their language barriers and soon enough he was thrown in with six other males. they became a close knit family and when they were given the information that they would debut, it was like a dream come true.

photos of tyler taking his daily medication surfaced and many people thought he was taking drugs. quite the contrary, they are his arthritis medicine. bighit released a statment on tyler's behalf, letting everyone know that he wasn't doing drugs and the he suffers from arthritis and it was just his mediciation he has to take for it.
the pictures where soon taken down from the original poster. she even made an apology as it was only a army that was angry about bighit releasing another boy group.
MEMBERS OF BUTTERFLY EFFECT GAY FOR EACH OTHER?
later in their careers, fans begin to notice the closeness between jaebeom and tyler. fans sometimes don't know the difference between fanservice and reality, but these two had something. it just doesn't make sense for how they act with each other and it just be fanservice.
it was just a simple rumor that didn't really blow out of proportion so bighit didn't release anything from the situation...except that maybe whenever the two saw fans staring at them, they would smile and move closer to each other.

when tyler first traansferred to bighit, he was lost. he knew no one and he was a foreigner surrounded by non-foreigners or until he ran into american moth and brush-footed. they helped him feel more comforable despite their language barriers.
meeting those two meant tyler soon met him. yook jaebeom. at first glance, tyler couldn't help, but give the attractive male a second glance.
now tyler has never felt something like this before. he just saw him in the hallways of the company, why does he feel a draw towards him?
then that one faithful day happened. american moth and brush-foot were doing something that kept them busy so tler was left alone for the day. easily getting lost in the building, he ran into jaebeom.
tyler being tyler, sputtered like the awkward child he is and pracitcally made a fool of himself right in fron of his crush. whether or not jaebeom thought of anything for tyler, tyler ran away before he could say anything.
fast forward to when butterfly effect was put into formation, tyler felt like all his breath was stolen when he saw jaebeom. hisheart was pounding in his chest at the thought of him having to spend practices with jaebeom, his crush.
as the group got closer, tyler became that much closer with jaebeom. keeping his crush tight-lipped, the two became inseperable. tyler let jaebeom get closer to him that anyone else ever did. he let him do things that tyler would normally fight others on.
tyler's crush began to grow even more, taking over his entire body. it was definitely getting harder to hide his crush from the male now.
but sooner or later...tyler was going to slip.
