birth name. Oda Ikumi
nicknames.

— Kumi | a shortened version of ikumi, pretty much everyone refers to her as this as she's lived in foreign countries her whole life.
— Kuu/Kuu-chan | Ikumi has been obsessed with 'saiki kusuo no psi nan' pretty much since the manga debuted in 2012. the main characters nickname is kuu, which is also a pun on ikumi. Her friends and fans reference this when they refer to her as Kuu, but a lot of people still call her "Kuu-chan" just because it goes with her name.
— Ju-on | Fans jokingly call Ikumi Ju-On (the grudge) due to her obsession with horror.

birthdate. October  13, 1996

appearance.

— Ikumi has a lean, but muscular, body type from years of playing sports. she is very thin, but as we all know, muscle weighs more than fat. many are surprised to find out her actual weight of 52kg due to how small she looks. ikumi is on the taller side with a height of 169 cm.
ikumi usually dyes her hair either a blonde or dark brown color with the length varying. she loves the aesthetic of long hair, but it annoys her by getting into her way so she usually has it pulled back or cut short with extensions when she feels like it. usually makeup for ikumi is kept as a minimum, she prefers a natural look to heavy glam makeup.
one thing that sets ikumi apart from others is that she has multiple piercings. she has three ear lobe piercings in each ear, a cartilage piercing in her right ear and a tragus in her left. she also has her belly button pierced, and at one time she had a nose piercing but removed it when she kept knocking it out while playing sports.
her knees are also unmatched when it comes to shape, although not a lot of people notices it until she points it out. she's had a hairline fracture in her left knee cap resulting in the bottom half to stick out like a lump when she bends her knees. (it also pops like crazy when she hasn't moved it in a while, freaking the other girls out even though it doesn't bother her at all)

style.

— ikumi has always been interested in street fashion. although she loves to dress nice, she also prefers comfort over style so don't expect her to wear a bunch of extravagant outfits. black, gray, and white are what you would see when you look inside her closet; ikumi prefers monochromatic colors over anything else. she does have the occasional splash of color to spruce things up a bit, but never anything bright. always darker colors over pastels any day.
ikumi hardly never wears skirts or dresses without shorts underneath so she can be free to move as she pleases. she also keeps accessories to a minimum as well, other than earrings, as she also sees them as something that just gets in her way. x.

personality Traits.

positive: friendly, optimistic, energetic, hard-working, self-aware
neutral: competitive, charismatic, quirky, erted
negative: mischievous, stubborn, insensitive, short-tempered
Elaboration. ikumi is the type of person who will do whatever they can to keep their friends happy, even if that means sacrificing her own happiness and hiding behind a smile. she is extremely caring toward those she holds close to her, sometimes even being a bit over-protective. she's the type who will go to extremes to make someone smile, the kind that will end up embarrassing themselves in the process. she's a friendly person, although some may see her friendliness as cringy, or being a try-hard. she can be a very optimistic person, always trying to find the best in any situation she's in. ikumi is very self-aware, being the first to point out her flaws. she knows what her strengths and weakness are and handles criticism very well, although she doesn't like hearing it. she's quite energetic, always wanting to be up and moving around. once she finds something she wants to do she can be very hard-working and wants to be the best at it. her mind set of always needing to be the best can also be a downfall as it make her very competitive. ikumi is always pushing herself and others to their limits.
of course, ikumi has her own quirky personality also. she isn't one to be sad as she feels like life always goes on and could be quite random at times if there is an awkward silence or tension in the air. she loves to friends as well, always saying some random joke to her members or friends. her past has taught her that no one in your life may be permanent; you never know when those friends you thought you would spend your life with may leave.
off stage, ikumi might be cute and happy-go-lucky, but when her competitive drive kicks in ikumi can be quite the charismatic charmer. she's almost like a different person when she's performing or doing something she loves. ikumi will immerse herself completely in the role of the song or portray emotions with her dancing. another trait of hers is that she can be quite erted at times. mainly towards those she's close with as she's always seen clinging onto someone (possibly because she doesn't want to subconsciously loose that person or have their feelings sway for her, which plays in with her being possessive over those she's close with), but mainly because she's always slapping the butts of her members or complementing them on their body or looks. of course, she doesn't hesitate to stare down someone she thinks is attractive and makes comments on their body as well. "mark tuan doesn't have many bulge pics and it's really disappointing."
of course, no one can be optimistic all the time. ikumi is a very short-tempered person, the stupidity of others usually setting her off and making run a mile a minute. she can also be somewhat passive aggressive, doing little subtile things when someone pisses her off. "the dishes would have been done an hour ago if you didn't set their and complain about them. i'll just do it myself." she can also be very mischievous at times; this going in effect when she plays pranks on or teases her members.
another negative trait of ikumi's is that she can be quite insensitive at times. to things that make others sob, ikumi simply shrugs and goes about her business. she acknowledges sadness, she just doesn't let is show often unless something really bothers her or she lets her emotions build up for too long. tsundere much? ikumi is also one of the most stubborn people you will find. perhaps it's her need to always be the best that no one ever was, but she'll never take no for an answer. it's her way or the highway. .. or an even compromise that mainly goes in her favor.
no matter what, ikumi always tries to find the positive side of things. life is a competition to her, and when she finds the people who she can relax around she'll never let them go.

background. Ikumi was born into a fairly well off family in Osaka, Japan. Her father worked as an English teacher as he grew up in America and her mother was a nurse. She lived in Japan until she was two and had a fairly average life there, from what she was told anyway as she was too young to have any memories of her time there.
When she was two and a half her family picked up and moved to Atlanta, Georgia, her fathers home town. There she lived for fourteen years and grew up with a very Americanized lifestyle. Ikumi watched her older brother play baseball and noticed all the praise he was getting and the young Ikumi wanted to do the same. She started playing softball in elementary school and fell in love with sports ever sense. When Ikumi was 4 her younger sister was born and despite the , Ikumi felt like she was constantly competing with her sister in everything. Ikumi was very tomboyish and loved sports where her sister was girly and had interest in the arts instead of sports like her two older siblings. Her sister loved singing and performing, something Ikumi never paid much attention to until her sister came along. When her sister was 8 and Ikumi was 12, her sister started taking dance lessons and was well praised for her talent. Ikumi being the competitive person she was didn't like the fact that her youngest sibling was getting praise and begged her parents to also take dance lessons, but found out that it would overlap with her sports. Settling for vocal lessons given out by a family friend, Ikumi struggled to keep up her grades with her sport and singing activities, but she managed by not having a lot of free time as she didn't want to give either up.
When Ikumi was 16 and had a pretty good life going for her in Georgia, her father got offered a English teaching job in Tokyo that paid higher than what he was getting then. Her family packed up everything once again and moved back to their home country, even though it was quite foreign to Ikumi. Sure, she knew the language but didn't have the need for speaking it every day so she was quite rusty and awkward. It was definitely a culture shock for the teenager as she was used to just getting by with her grades in school and in Japan they took grades very seriously. However, the idol world was booming in 2012, and Ikumi wanted nothing more than to make her family proud by becoming an idol. However, her stay in Japan was very limited as well as a little over a year later her father got a job proposition to teach English in Seoul, South Korea.
Ikumi moved once again in 2013 and spent the last years of her high school career in South Korea. Much like japan, she felt the pressure to focus on her grades more than sports or singing, but this time things came much easier as she went to a foreign, English speaking school. Her older brother stayed behind in Japan as he had a full scholarship to college for baseball. Ikumi was very envious, but stuck to the path of becoming an idol.
In 2013 she auditioned to many entertainment companies but finally ended up in SM Entertainment in 2014. There she trained for four years while studying Korean until she became a member of Blue Moon in 2018.

relationships.

— brother : Oda Takumi / baseball player / competitive, strong willed, sore loser / 7/10

Takumi and Ikumi don't see each other as much as they would like after Takumi went off to college, but try to keep in contact as much as they can. Ikumi looks up to her brother greatly; after all her interest in sports comes and competitive drive come from growing up with Takumi.

— sister : Oda Ayumi / student / perfectionist, bubbly, judgemental / 2/10

Ikumi is sadly not very close to Ayumi. Where Ikumi was a tomboy and interested in sports, Ayumi was always very girly and more interested in dancing. After seeing the praise Ayumi was getting for her dancing, Ikumi became jealous and wanted something to do with the musical field as well and thus and idol was formed. Ikumi now loves singing, but she still tries to one up her sister every chance she gets. Oh, Ayumi got a full scholarship to the most prestigious dance school in Tokyo? Cool, Ikumi is debuting in a girl group in Korea that's under the label that's the hardest to debut from. Heck, part of the reason Ikumi wanted to be under the big three companies was to throw it back in her sisters face.

— best friend : Park "Jamie" Jimin / idol (15&) / friendly, extra, kinda loud / 9/10

Jimin is perhaps the person in korea who knows Ikumi the best. The two met in high school as they went to the same international school and Ikumi could always come to Jimin with her problems and get advice as Jimin was once a trainee under the big three too. Despite the girls being from different companies, Jimin and Ikumi still find time to meet up and hang out although not as often as they used to.

— brother from another mother : Nakamoto Yuta / idol (NCT) / savage, manly, tough / 7/10

Although Ikumi didn't make many friend when she was a trainee, Yuta is the exception. Yuta was always like another older brother to Ikumi and they often looked out for one another. Since Yuta was also from Japan, the two got along quite nicely and often studied Korean together. Ikumi often refers to Yuta as "that anime boy" because let's face it, Yuta could have came straight off a page from a manga and we wouldn't be able to tell the difference. He's her handsome brother figure; although the two of them often get mistaken for more than that, there's absolutely no romance feelings for the other from either of them. They have an official couple name of Yumi though.

— acquaintance : Kang Woolim / idol (Blue Moon) / competitive, controlling, passionate / 4/10

As trainees, the one Ikumi was always the most jealous of was Woolim. Both girls are very competitive and there was always this unsaid competition between them as Woolim was one of the best dancers in the company. Although the competition was probably all in Ikumi's head, it's not lie to say the girls personalities sometimes clashed. When Ikumi found out that Woolim was one of the chosen members of Blue Moon, Ikumi kicked it into over drive and wanted to become a member and debut twice as bad as she once did. Perhaps their little competition will continue once they've both debuted.

Trainee years. 4 years (2014-2018)
trainee life.

— During Ikumi's four years of training she was considered an average trainee in every aspect. Her vocals were pretty and she could hold her own, but could only be considered a lead vocalist at best and was over shadowed by other trainees. her dancing was also average; she was a fast learner and had plenty of stamina due to her sports training, but there were always those that had dedicated their whole life to dance and overshadowed ikumi in that aspect as well. due to ikumi not knowing much korean upon arriving in seoul a lot of her training time went to studying the language as well. The main reason SM kept her around was due to her body type and she had the visuals of an SM artist even if everything else was considered average.
ikumi became very frustrated with the other trainees due to how competitive she was. she always wanted to be the best and would often push herself to exhaustion to better her skills. she also finished high school while being a trainee, which was just more added stress. ikumi would look at her brother and younger sister succeeding at what they loved while she was working hard for what felt like nothing.
Ikumi didn't live in the dorms until she debuted as her family lived in Seoul. After practices she would take the subway home or hang out with Jimin and Chan if she had any free time. However, home was a place she started hating to be at. Ikumi started staying longer at the sm building or made excuses to spend the night somewhere, all because she hated seeing how her sister was succeeding with her dancing while she was stuck as a trainee who was considered average.
the months soon turned to years and ikumi thought her chances to debut were as slim as her chances of becoming friends with other trainees. just when she was considering leaving the company and maybe the idol life in general, she heard about sm plans to debut a new girl group. with the first two girls already picked, ikumi's competitiveness kicked into overdrive and her instructors finally noticed how much effort she was putting into her training. ikumi gained a spot as one of the last girls to debut under Blue Moon, something she thanks how competitive she is for. although her need to be the best just might be something that will get her in trouble in the long run.

scandals.

— 2019 | Another SM Couple? NCT's Yuta and Blue Moon's Kumi caught up in Relationship Rumors. Ikumi once said she was close to the NCT member, the internet shippers went wild. It wasn't until Ikumi was caught dancing to NCT a little too often and Yuta knew Ikumi's solo song by heart that rumors were starting to become wild, but what finally created a big scandal was Ikumi's cell phone background being caught on film. Her lock screen was a photo of her and Yuta and of course, fans were starting to actually believe their friendship was something more. News sites started reporting the "dating news" with pictures of them hanging out and other random, ironic similarities between the two that were made out to look like more than they were. SM denied the claims, but there is still those who believe "Yumi" might be a thing. | false, they're like siblings but at least it takes the spot light off of her and her actual relationship.

PERSONALITY.

ENTJ, strong willed, leader, assertive, organized, kind, over thinks
Chan, much like Ikumi, grew up in a foreign country then moved to korea as a teenager. Chan is one of the most friendly people Ikumi knows, almost making friends automatically where ever her goes. He cares about s and friends dearly and often blames himself when things don't work out as planned. He's an over thinker and puts others before himself.
As caring as Chan is, he can also be very strict and a workaholic. Chan is assertive when it comes to getting what he wants, only because he knows how competitive Ikumi the world is. He isn't one to settle for less and leads those around him with passion.
Chan has a warm and friendly personality, instantly making those around him smile and feel at ease; also what drew Ikumi to him almost instantly. His personality relaxes those he's around and is always cracking jokes. a meme generator.  He may be cool and full of charisma on stage with his rapping and power vocals, but off stage he's full of dad jokes.

love story.

— Chan and Ikumi met through a mutual friendship with Jimin, and maybe Ikumi had an instant crush but she'll never admit it. It was nice having another English speaker in her tiny friend circle though. Just being mutual friends was all the two were for a while, although Ikumi was secretly crushing before actually having a one on one conversation with the male.
After to admitting to Jimin she was catching feels for Chan, Jimin sat up a "date" for the two. And by the quotations around date I mean the three of them were supposed to meet up for a movie and bowling but Jimin ditched last minute making Chan and Ikumi go on with their plans themselves. Believe me when i say that the movie was extremely awkward for Ikumi. As the night went on, Ikumi started to become more open especially as her competitiveness was in full drive while bowling.
By the end of their little date, Jimin's plan of getting her two friends to become closer was a success. The two started to chat privately outside of their group chat and would occasionally hang out as just the two of them instead of a group. As Ikumi's feelings continued to grow she found out Chan also had feelings for her through the sleuthing of Jimin.
After months of hardcore flirting and basically being friends with benefits without the acknowledging of either of their feelings, the two knew it was time for a serious talk when Chan started preparing for his debut with Stray Kids. They decided to stay as friends as their careers called for no dating, but still continued to act as if they were in a relationship.
After Chan's debut Ikumi's heart was for Chan only, not that she had many options to begin with as she still hadn't made many friends within SM. She couldn't believe that her Channie would look so cool on stage and be such a good leader to his friends.

Need a love guru? Call ya girl Jamie Park.

the ending.

— It's already known that Chan is in her friend group but that's literally all most fans think of them as. The SM shipper fans are too occupied with Ikumi / Yuta interactions that luckily her interactions with Chan are swept under the rug and mainly noticed by only Stays.
Despite this, due to busy schedules and both being rookies they aren't in any official relationship. Maybe someday when they're further in their career and they would love to be official, but the timing would have to be right for both of them.
Only after Ikumi's scandal with Yuta in 2019 did Chan actually develop any feeling of jealousy towards Ikumi. He knew she was his despite the non title but suddenly that wasn't good enough. Although he would never admit his jealousy as he isn't one to put his feelings above others, he started to message Ikumi more and more until suddenly she was taking up all his free time and he wouldn't want it any other way.
Maybe love was in the air? Chan realizing that he needed Ikumi in his life as more than just a friend was what it took to take matters in his own hands and officially asked Ikumi to be his girlfriend later in 2019. They've succeeded in keeping a hidden relationship tp even to their companies and most of their group members ever since.

trivia.

— Ikumi is an avid 3racha stan (the predebut soundcloud group chan was a part of with jisung and changbin)
— Literally i'm not kidding some of her favorite songs are For You and Placebo, both by 3racha.
— Their conversations are a mixture of English, Korean, and Japanese as they both know all three of the languages.
— Ikumi refers to Chan either by "Channie" or his real name "Chris". she hardly ever calls him Chan.
— They copy each others accents when speaking English a lot. (Chan - Australian, Ikumi - Southern)
— Ikumi just generally enjoys annoying Chan oops. He's one of the few people she can just relax and be herself around.
— "LiKE mAtE" "my favorite Australian is Christian Yu i'm sorry" "BYUNGchan" "zookeeper?"
— the first time Ikumi met Chan's group mates they referred to her as "mom" and she didn't know how to react like she wasn't ready for eight children. she is now the octomom and they are the only people to refer to her as such.
— except Felix. he is her child who she might love more than Chan. "don't come between a mother and her son."
— "i'm they call me mom do they call you daddy?"

— Knows how much Chan loves his hoodies. Steals them anyway.
— lowkey jealous of any female idol who is also close with Chan, except Jimin. Cause ya know, Ikumi has to be the best, even at relationships.
— Chan often makes Ikumi soft due to how caring he always is
— After Chan and Ikumi were officially dated they were a little too touchy at the end of the year awards oops. Luckily fans thought pf it as friendly teasing as fans were still focused on Ikumi and Yuta.
— Although most Stray Kids members guessed that Chan and Ikumi were a thing waaayyy before they were official, the only Blue Moon member that knows is Woolim due to her accidentally over hearing a conversation the two were having  in the hallway back stage at a music show. Woolim was only coming to tell Ikumi it was her turn for touch ups and heard way more than she asked for.
