Rising Hope

Hey everyone,

Brazil really was amazing. I got to meet so many other sponsors and people living in extreme poverty. Too, I got to go into some of the homes, churches, and projects that our beneficiaries exist within to see how they live. Such incredible experiences! And, of course, best of all, I got to meet the little girl I sponsor! The people who came along with her include her mother, baby sister, and the director of the project she attends. I even got to meet her father through video chat very briefly, and an interpreter joined us as well. It was so wonderful! Not to mention, on our one "off" day, we sponsors got to go to a gorgeous beach and then take a cruise along a river until a man with a saxophone and on little boat serenaded the sun as it set. Too cool!

Anyway, perhaps now is a good time to share some other ideas I've had in my mind for a while.

Everyone loves being read to no matter how old they are, right? I've been thinking of going back and audio-recording myself reading some of my stories and then posting them as unlisted videos on YouTube or something. Would anyone be interested in that? You could hear how the characters sound in my head and spoken native English for those of you who are English-language learners. Hmm... just a thought.

Another idea I have is to self-publish a lot of my works. Of course, I would change character names and perhaps some attributes and so forth about them, but that's something else I've been thinking of doing. Would anyone here support me in that?

Who knows if I'll actually be able to do these things, though? Korea and Koreans in general are notoriously difficult to deal with, especially for me, where I live, and the situation in which I currently find myself. Why you sabotage me so much, Korea? >:'( Heh :')

Well, anyway, let me know what you think!

Thanks!

Ashlee

I agree with BTS_SNSD_EXO_Lover below. The children in your pictures look so joyful and the adults too look happy. Likewise, I have no objections to reading your stories. But I do admit, I did grow out of being read to LOL. Idk, my reading speed typically outpaces most people I know, so I like reading on my own, by my own hehe. Still, I support you making these stories — they’ll hopefully give me insight into how different people in different countries and conditions live their lives compared to moi. Best of luck with good ol’Korea, though! Doesn’t sound like they take kindly to strangers/foreigners ( ・∇・)

First of all, those kids are adorable! Second of all, I'd be down to hear you read your stories. I personally really like the idea because as a child I loved getting read to because my eyes didn't need to strain themselves to decipher small characters on the page, and it's soothing to hear other people read out loud.

I'd buy your books. No doubt about it, even if the names are changed, I know they'll be great!
