We do not own idols {rant}

I don't know how many times Ive ranted on here before about my hatred for how fans treat idols, but yet, here I am again to complain about the same ol' BS.

Hyuna and Edawn announced that they're dating. I am very happy that Hyuna is in a relationship. I'm very happy in general when idols announce theyre dating. What doesn't make me happy are the fans' reactions.

What I don't understand is why fans think it's okay to act offended. It's not your relationship, mind your own business. I saw an article saying that Pentagon's official fancafe wants to have Edawn removed. Their reasoning was that he didn't tell them. Once again, he aint your friend. He isn't your boyfriend. He isn't your brother- he has to explain nothing to you.

I've read comments on the article that was basically implying that Pentagon should give the fans money for "emotional and financial damage".

Let me clear one thing up for you all: Just because you spend money on an upcoming idol group and support them from the beginning DOES NOT mean that they owe you ANYTHING. It was your choice to spend your own money of their merch. It was your own choice to get so emotionally invested. The only thing they owe you is quality music and nothing else.

They do not exist for you to control. You know what that sounds like from the outside looking in? A SLAVE.

Why should a grown man listen to kids? It's idiotic.

No matter if Hyuna and Edawn announced they're dating a day after getting together or two years after- the result will be the same. Chaotic. Fans cannot comprehend that oppa is not yours to have. You do not control oppa. You will not have oppa to yourself. These people are adults. Should I go over to your house and tell your parents "You know, I don't like you two being together. I don't think you should be together. In fact, break up or else I'll create a suicide petition and make sure your business flops"?

Does that sound okay to you?

This whole thing reminds me of what happened between Taeyeon and Baekhyun, Kai and Krystal, Tiffany and Nichkhun, and what they did to Jonghyun and his girlfriend. They bullied them all.

People do not comprehend that these MEN and WOMEN are allowed to date. They are human,

YOU CANNOT EXPECT THEM TO SING YOU LOVE SONGS WITHOUT ANY EXPERIENCE IN THE FIELD.

I've also seen comments on there that said "You all must be new to Kpop if you think you have a say on how the dating system works. That is not how Kpop works. This has always been the way of Kpop and how it works. Stop trying to change it"

No. Kpop idols are not there to be bullied by children. I've been in this genre for 9 years now. This is not a culture, this is not tradition. THIS IS OBSESSIVE FANS WHO THINK THEY WILL GET A CHANCE IF THEIR OPPA IS SINGLE. Idols do not sign contracts for the sheer fact of "Yeah once your dating ban is over and you want to date- you cant because you must give up all your emotions and feelings to give 100% to your fans".

Do not give me that bull.

That may have been the case back in the day, but times are changing. If people and society doesn't change, then the world will continue to stay the same and I'm sorry if you think that is acceptable but it's not.  In order for things to advance and grow, things need to change.

This is why idols date and engage in ADULT BEHAVIOR behind closed doors without telling anyone.

BECAUSE FANS HARRASS THEM.

THEY RUIN THEIR LOVE LIVES.

YOU ARE BEING A TY FAN.

Honestly, the more and more ty news comes from these situations- the more distant I become with the fandom and the community.

Totally agree with you. What can people respect human rights of the idols? I mean, is basic. It's their privacy, their life. It makes me so mad ):
