Recently, Byul dyed her hair to a light purple almost lavender-ish color due to her group's last comeback.
Good → Ambitious, Passionate, Optimistic, Outgoing, Empathetic
Bad → Perfectionist, Tireless, Downhearted, Nervous, Vulnerable
GOOD:
// "There's a light at the end of the tunnel." // But when Byul's off the stage and not training she's pretty much not what he portrays herself as what she is. Because you know the saying, "Fake it 'till you make it.", right? Because in reality when you see idols onstage, you literally can only see them for 3-4 minutes and done. Goes with variety shows too. Not everyone is who they actually say they are. Byul's is no exception. She does show a confident and charismatic side of him onstage, but of the stage is a different story. Because due to her past, it has left her in a vulnerable state. But she just has to keep reminding her something what she's doing this for - who's she doing this for. Because that's the reason why she's walking in a very shaky bridge, and a road with a lot of unexpected twists, turns, and bumps. To know and just hope that all the hardwork and pain will be paid off one day, and to just see the people who were behind you the whole time to just cry because you made it. To know that they're proud of you is what Byul thinks - knows that all the pain she faced and others faced is what makes their loved ones smile.
// "Hi, is the first word of friendship." // With her past crawling back to her thoughts during the competition, Byul tries her hardest to make sure that the girls (ecspecially the younger ones) to know what they're in for. She wants them to know that it takes sweat, blood, and a whole lot of tears to just train. Everyone knows that a trainee lifestyle is hinderous no matter what. But the expierience is a whole lot easier when you have allies. Because she started out young, and she had to sacrifice a lot in her youth, but with the people that she met it made them feel like she was not sacrificing that much (if that makes sense). With the contestants that she meets through the show, she wants to be like the people she encountered in her trainee life. She like an Unnie who always has her shoulders ready for them to lean on and the simple pat of the back when they did a good job. Byul even spends some time with other trainees to tell them what they look like they're struggling with, and has bit one-on-one with them as well. Plus, the figure to remind them that the road to be an idol is not the glitz and glamour.
BAD:
// "Never give the opportunity to waste your time twice. // Byul is treating this compeition as a second chance for her dream. It took a lot of courage for her to get her head back in the game. Now, she's rested, and ready to rumble because this is probably the factor in her life that changes who she's going to be and she wants to make sure that what she's going to be in the furture, is what everything she does in the present doesn't go to waste. She is probably the last person that leaves the practice room because she's still training herself past his limits which can lead her some minor complication. Because she's a perfectionist, it slows a team down when she knows she didn't do something right, she wants to restart to make sure that she's timing, position, and everything is right. She doesn't really care how much her eyes flutter when she's tried, or how sweaty her training clothes get, even with the amount of people to tell her to stop. She wants to start this competiton with her all, and leave the competiton to know that she gave her all.
// "Being nervous isn't a bad thing. It just means that something important is going to happen." // Even despite being couragous enough to come back to the harsh trainee life to become an idol. No matter how hard she had it before in life, doesn't mean that the same amount of jitters can change. No matter how confident she may seem onstage, she' still nervous and scared that she might fumble her lines, and has to play it off like nothing has happened. Also, there's time where she does doubt herself if she's picking the right path. That maybe the past event were a sign to tell her that this is not right path for him. She does lose the fire that was inside of her at times, because she's scared that the cycle that she faced will hit her like a typhoon. And trust me, it's scary.
// "People don't cry for being weak. It's because sometimes we were strong for so long." // Byul may seem confident, and charismatic, but let me tell you something. It's easier to say that there's nothing wrong, but it's harder to keep your head and actually being strong. Byul faced a lot of hardships when she came to Korea. She thought that the hardships will make her stronger than she was then, so she held in a lot of tears to herself because she didn't want other people to know she was hurting. Some of her experience made her feel vulnerable. She thought if music was the right path for ger and really consider to quitting in the past. She still does now, but because she doesn't want to fail in front of others, she has to put on a mask on to make her seem strong, but when she's in bed, she grabs her blanket and he just cries, because it really is hard to actually be strong for friends, family, fans, and most of alll - herself.
// Gotta Go Back // Unfortunatley (age 10), there was a time where her parents convenince store weren't getting enough money and had to back to South Korea to get a better job there. She had to start anew. She only knew basic Korean because his parents taught him enough to get him by, but he had a bit of an Brooklyn accent to her voice that made her mispronounce some words. So she would get made fun of a lot and it kind of restrained her from talking because it would embarass herself.
// Lean On Me // Byul felt a tad left out when it came to making friends at school because of the language barrier. She didn't attend an internaional school because her family didn't have enough money. So Byul mostly spent her time to herself and would watch TV after school all day, everyday. Then it was like something out of a movie and she saw BoA performing her song, "Atlantis Princess" and she fell in love at first sight. Soon, Byul found herself mirroring BoA at trying to dance like her infront of the television. She would be dancing everywhere that she can, from her bedroom to the living room, in the school gymnasium and even while she was walking on the streets.
// How It All Came Together // Byul became avid trying to learn the dance routines that she would see idols performing on the TV. She able to make friends because of her common interest in dance. She would soon end up as the leader of her school dance club.
A year after living in South Korea, her parents re-opened a convenince store down the street from her school. So, as a chore she was usually looking after the store (as a cashier). He would rap along to the songs that the radio played, go back to work when there's customers in the store.
It was only when she was 16 years old, after school one day, she was looking after the store, while her parents were resting for a while at home. A man in a very professional looking suit came to the cash register to pay for instant ramen and looked up to see her pretty face that a thought was conjuring in the mans head.
He literally asked if Byul thought to ever become an idol, in which she (Byul) hesitantly nodded in response. The man gave her a card, and said, "You have a good face, tryout for our company. I'll put in a good word in for you." And left (with his instant ramen).
When she told his parents about the news, her parents were unsure to push her towards that path, but they told her to do whatever she wants. She talked to her friends during school, and they said that she was should tryout. And since they were bestfriends Byul didn't want to audition. It was only until after school the next day, her friends dragged her to the company called B2M Entertainment.
She danced and sang for her audition then about after a month she got confirmation that she was an official trainee of B2M Enertainment.
// Hey, Mom and Dad, I Made It // But as we all know trainee life, is hard to do. Because she would wake up in the morning, got to school, train, and repeat. Plus, when she had to focus a lot more school when she's there.
However after two years of training hard, Byul was given the news that she would finally be making her debut as the leader of a five membered girl group. She was ecstatic that she would be making her parents proud and her dreams would come true.
Byul's group consisted of five members, and were named KWINS (Pronounced as "queen"). However the dream turned out to be a long nightmare instead what all the girls were hoping for. They debuted, they acheived their dream of debuting, however it didn't seem that way. The girls would spend their all recording songs, practising their dance skills only to get mediorce feedback/results from the public. Soon, the promotions seemed to come once every blue moon and they were fading away into abyss of "failed" idol groups. Their last comeback was in 2016, and did not do a lot for the group sake. KWINS still have a small, but patient fanclub waiting for them to comenack, but with KWINS having to debuting in 2012 and with only one year left under their contract it's unlikely that they will stay together.
- Byul is the leader of KWINS
- KWINS fandom name was called "Royals" (로열스)
- Byul loves to choreograph her own dances and even choreographed some routines for her group
- She's on Team Samsung
- Byul tries to work at her parents convenince store as much as she can
- She thinks that she dances he best when she's under pressure
- Fond of doing dance battles
- Doesn't like being called "BoA" lookalike
- She gets a tad of stage fright when she's onstage due to the lack of cheers when she was doing
promotions - The judge that she wants to impress the most are the dance instructors
- Hopes that her group will be better known through the show
- The reasons when she decided to compete on PD99 is because she felt responisble as the leader
to represent her team and also because she is desperate at this point to get the name KWINS known
even if the whole group is not there - Despite the other KWIN members not joining, Byul is very much close to them. I mean they did spend
years training and working together

However it seemed like all of yul's efforts were noticed and paid off when she got chosen as the leader of KWINS and debuted in 2012. However, the group failed to gain success and attention due to many other groups debuting such as EXO, BAP, NU'ESt, BTOB, VIXX, etc.
- Last comeback was in 2016 with "Want to Say"
Nonetheless the girls tried to work hard to get their names known by doing countless protmotions. Such as busking, fansigns/fanmeets, appearing on rookie variety shows, just doing everything they can to just increase the numbers of views on their videos. Yet, they weren't as lucky as other groups. Sooner down the line and a couple of yeats later the girls slowly lost hope of being mainstream.
Byul always felt at her worst whenever KWINS would go on music shows. Because despite debuting earlier than other groups, they don't get treated with much respect as they would expect. They get their performances shortened, when they perform they rarely hear fanchants, and sometimes their hoobaes don't even bow to them.
Byul said she decided to compete because she felt responisble as the leader to go on and make her team's
name known. Her fellow groupmate and best friend Jinju joined her because she doesn't give up her idol career yet.
- Can the girls perform this for their evaluation? ANd maybe Byul getting critiqued by the instructors due to lack of
stage presence compared to Jinju
- Byul competing in the dance battle against classes
- Can byul expose he realities of the already debuted idol world
- Byul having some good leader moments
- Jinju and Byul just being idiots with each other
