▸ malady — "mou akane, are you trying to copy mandalay-pro?" she chose this hero name in relation to her quirk, which is to inflict status ailments on her opponents. malady is a synonym of ailment, which she found to be too basic, so she chose malady instead. it sounds like an accented “milady” which is befitting for someone as graceful as herself not really. and no, takuro, she isn't copying mandalay-pro.

NICKNAME: 
▸ aka-nee, akane-chan, akane-kun, aka-san, kimura-chan, kimura-san — "for the last time, I'M the girl amongst the three of us!" the typical honorifics that are added to her name, the akane-kun happened a lot in the past when she used to be mistaken as the other boy amongst the triplets whilst haruka used to be mistaken for the girl. but the rest are the normal stuff.

▸ ohime-sama, akane-hime — "aww is our little ohime-same getting angry~" that’s what her brothers jokingly call her when they want something from her, or after they’ve made her angry. also used by some of the younger customers that range from elementary to high school of their cafe who have a crush on the stoic beauty.

▸ bunny, usa-chan — "usa-chan can i get another americano?" after one of their little twin sisters got bullied for her cat ears, the whole family dedicated a day in their cafe to wearing animal ears to show their support for her. akane chose to wear bunny ears and the nickname has stuck with the customers ever since.

▸ english ; conversational — she followed haruka's example and decided to take english more seriously as it's an important language. a lot of their foreign customers are more comfortable speaking english so she thought it'd be nice if she could speak it too. it would be important too when she became a hero too next time. 
▸ a little bit of everything — their cafe gets a lot of visitors from all over the world, so she's taken it upon herself to learn a bit of everything so that she can give their customers a much easier time.

APPEARANCE: 
her hair is long, and with a pastel pink hue that darkens to a faint red the lower it gets. the reason why this is so is because she used to have red hair as a kid, juch like her brothers, but as she grew up, her hair lightened and that helped people differentiate the triplets much better. she usually has some of it tied up but they tend to fall back down, giving her a slightly more messy look. her eyes are a mix of ruby and amethyst and tend to look slightly blank, especially when she’s tired. unlike the faceclaim, she also has a red rose that adorns the left side of her hair where her quirk is released mostly from. she has a lean figure too, faint ab-line and strong calves from training with her father and mother, as well as her constant working in the family cafe. 

 

STYLE: 
out of school, akane is more casual, usually opting for light coloured cotton clothes that are cooling. she has a love for off-shoulders and usually matches them with jean shorts. she might wear a skirt if she feels like it too. dresses are reserved purely for the summer and are usually paired with a summer hat. she also wears the different themes of their family cafe but she has to admit, the maid outfit is her favourite. she might be a bit of a tomboy, but she also enjoys being girly sometimes. 

SCHOOL UNIFORM: 
she likes to have a little flair when it comes to her school uniform so she wears her school blazer open and with a red bow instead of the assigned red tie. she wears white thigh highs with her school shoes. in the summer, she wears the same things but switches the white thigh highs in favour of white hidden socks. she also folds her sleeves up neatly instead of rolling them up. 

HERO COSTUME: 
right click to enlarge! her hero costume is a red, sleeveless and fireproof qipao dress with white ts that reaches her upper thighs. she wear black shorts underneath her dress, don on reinforced gloves that have spikes. she also wears grey elbow and knee guards to minimise damage. the dress is tied together by a black pouch in which she uses to carry her liquid concoctions as well as the concoctions in power form if ever needed. she also has a holster on her right thigh which contains throwing knives (and sometimes darts) that has can be laced with poison or acid. she also wears black combat boots.

  

PERSONALITY TRAITS:

PERSONALITY: 
akane prides herself to be the sanest one out of the three. she's the one who tries (read: tries) to talk takuro out of doing stupid pranks and is usually the voice of reason in the crazily huge family. she's thinks everything through thorougly before actually doing it, and weighs all the pros and cons before deciding the best, and most efficient course of action. she's really intelligent too (it runs in the family) and it's something else she prides herself in; it helps her stand out amongst the six children in the family, really. she's gotta do what she can to pull her weight in the family! she can come off as a bit of a know-it-all at times though, because she does in fact know a lot, and studies hard, but she unconciously puts people down to show that she's smarter than them. she's incredibly witty because of this, and would never back down from an intellectual debate.

 

having grown up with boys, akane also tends to be rather rough, both in character and in everyday life. she's used to being manhandled and roughhoused, so she also tends to have a tougher grip when she holds on to someone, or even tends to go harder and rougher whenever she fights, regardless of who's her opponent. she's rather blunt with her words too, and seldom sugarcoats it. she usually speaks her mind without much thought (takuro says she's lacks tact) and sometimes offend others without really meaning to. unsurprisingly, she's also someone who's rather short-tempered; it's easy to make her blow her fuse, really, especially if you hurt or threaten to hurt someone she treasures (read: her family, friends and lover). oh you're just asking for a good beating from her. this is partially the reason why her brothers love to prank her though, because according to them, "it's amusing to see her face turn red when she realises she's walked into another one of our traps and starts yelling at us and chasing us around!" "truly." 

 

okay, pranks are fine, but don't try hurting anyone she loves; protectiveness is another trait that runs in the family, and it comes hand in hand with being unforgiving. akane can be quite the unforgiving one when it comes to being betrayed or hurt by someone she trusts. same rules apply to her enemies; if they hurt someone she loves, she's going to make them pay to hell and back. she will go all out to make sure they're sorry for what they've done, and to avenge the one they hurt. this is probably why it's important to never, ever make akane angry, because it won't end well for either party.   

 

but of course, akane has her silly side too, she's not all books and drear! she's a friendly person who really loves to make friends, though she can come across as overbearing at times, but she's always open to being friends with everyone who's willing. mischeviousness unfortunately does run in the family and she does enjoy teasing people (read: momo) once in a while, though she doesn't take to being teased (by her brothers) herself. she's also a closet ert, and that really only shows up when it's someone she likes (read: momo). she's fond of both subtle innuendos and full on ertedness, though the latter is more prominent in her everyday life. she hates it when others on the person she likes (again read: momo). only she's allowed to violate them! she enjoys flirting with momo certain people, in an elegant way of course! haruka would never approve of anything not done in a classy and elegant manner!

HISTORY: 
she was born the second out of three, on that fine spring day, named after her red, red hair. as a child, she had short, short hair, because she was a tomboy. it was inevitable really, for she grew up with boys, she was used to the roughhousing, and she was okay with it. she trained almost every day with her mother and father; and would be covered in scratches and bruises, but she was okay with that! what she was not okay with though, was the fact that she was always mistaken for a boy, whilst haruka was mistaken for the girl. she was the girl! she would stomp her foot, only for her parents to chuckle and ruffle her then, short, short hair and tell her that they would stop evetually. they didn't.

 

needless to say, she was infuriated to say the least. so, she grew her hair out, even though she didn't particularly like long hair, and eventually when puberty hit her, she started looking more feminine. god forbid, she actually tried begging haruka to tell her how to look more feminine or act more demurely. it worked, thankfully, and as she grew older, she started attracting attention to their cafe, and she was happy about that; very happy in fact. she was finally recognised as a girl! and she found herself enjoying doing 'girly' things as much as 'manly' things. she never stopped training though, it was part and parcel of her life and she would never pass up on a day of training, no matter what the reason.

 

of course, she had a few other issues of her own whilst growing up. being the middle child, she was always overlooked in favour of the oldest haruka who was essentially 'perfect' in everyone's eyes (she swears he's hiding demons, she can tell!) and the youngest takuro who was the naughtiest amongst them all. she needed to stand out in her own way; and she did that through monopolising her parents' time through making them train her. she knew, when her quirk manifested, it would never be able to sustain her in a long fight like her parents or siblings, so she had to rely on herself. so she trained, and trained and trained. she also studied vigorously, both for her actual studies and for her quirk. her quirk required her to have an extensive and in-depth knowledge on the different properties of different plants and how to combine them or extract them to give her the desired result. she was smart, she was strong, but it wasn't enough.

 

it's never enough.

 

she wanted more. she wanted to help people with her strength; she wanted to be someone everyone loved and admired too, just like haruka and takuro. she wanted to be a hero.

 

haruka was pleasantly surprised when both akane and takuro said they were going to u.a. as well, really. the boys passed the entrance test easily, but akane, not so much. she couldn't do as much damage as she expected to the robotic villans and struggled to amass the points but she did what she could to help the others in the field. she didn't earn much points in the end (at least that's what she thought, because they didn't know about the rescue points), and she was devastated, having failed while her brothers passed easily in their respective battle centres. while having passed the written exam easily, it wasn't enough.

 

she cooped herself up in her room for a few days after that; no amount of bribing or teasing could get her out of it. so, it came to a huge surprise to the entire family when the letter from the school came for akane anyway, saying that someone had put in a recommendation for her and after having been reviewed by the panel on her quirks, she was finally admitted into u.a. together with her brothers.

 

it's really not much different from before she was admitted into u.a. really, she wakes up earlier than everyone else on most days for her morning jog before doing a quick clean of the cafe for her mom, and taking a shower. she would then yell at takuro to get the hell up and proceed to drag him to the bathroom before heading off to school with her brothers. she usually hangs out with the girls for a little while after school before running off after haruka who's already halfway home, to help out with the cafe, or help their little siblings with their homework. she does her own homework at night before she sleeps.

 

in school itself, she has sort of an untoucable aura around her, which makes a lot of people from the other classes shy away from her, especially when they see either or both her brothers trailing after her. inside the 1-a itself though, she's known to be one of the jokesters of the class, and the self-proclaimed defender of the girls from mineta (although haruka and takuro also join in if mineta tries to peek at the girls). the teachers themselves often have mixed feelings about akane, because while she is most definitely a great student in terms of studying, she also likes to sleep in class, especially since she's in seat d which is at the far end of the class, and they can't be bothered to walk all the way there to hit her on the head to wake her up (though some would use their quirks to hit her awake). 

 

when they move into the u.a. dorms, she feels a little empty inside because a good portion of her routine is taken away, but she always insists that her siblings call her if they ever need help. she's also ecstatic about it too though! because it means she gets to spend more time with the girls, something which she could never do in the past.

 

DORM: 
her room in the dorm definitely reflects who she is as a person, it's pink, girly but with hints of masculinity littered around the slightly messy room. she has a rack full of work out equipment in one corner so that she can do light workouts even in her room. her windows are usually open and are framed with white lace curtains. on the windowsills sit a few succulents because they're the only plants hardy enough to deal with akane's roughness. above her table sits a corkboard decorated with polaroids of herself with her family and friends.

 

 

 

 

 

 

QUIRK: 
▸ ailment infliction ( emitter ) — her quirk, similar to her mother’s and brother’s is plant manipulation but with a twist. whilst haruka’s quirk deals with the physical manipulation of plants, akane’s deals with the chemical manipulation of plants. thanks to her vast knowledge of plants and their properties, she can come up with various concoctions that inflict status ailments (poison, sleep, paralysis are the most common ones) on her opponents. her quirk allows her to quickly combine the necessary ingredients needed before releasing them in the gaseous form from the flower on her head. that is her main form of combat. she can also enhance her ally's strength but to a much smaller extent as she hasn't practiced that as much. if the flower is cut off, it takes about a day or two to regrow into a full bud.

STRENGTHS: 
▸ versatile usage — she can also produce her concotions in liquid "potions" form and in solid "pill" or "powder" form, though the latter is seldom actually used. the concotions that take the liquid form are usually poisonous and/or acidic so it's advisable not to drink them, even if they look really yummy. no kaminari, don't even think of trying that bright pink one. 

▸ wide range — if she needs to increase the range of her ailment infliction, she will have to release the gas from her skin, which will require her to expose more of her arms (something like midnight). currently her range is 20 meters, but with training and in stressful situations, it can go up to 50 meters, but not just yet. she doesn't do this very often because she usually only engages in close-combat. thus, this is sort of her trump card that most of her peers (excluding her family of course) don't know of. 

▸ cancelling the ailments — while they will fade away and the one inflicted will recover with some time, she has made antidotes to the more severe kinds of poison just in case. just in case. if she can inflict it, she can cancel it. the same goes for ailments not inflicted by herself; if they are the regular paralysis, she can reduce the amount of time needed to recover and even cure the inflicted immediately if it's not too serious. speaking of which, she can also neutralise poison that is released into the air, but only for a small radius.  

WEAKNESSES: 
▸ her quirk only works on humans — and against those who don't already have resistance to certain ailments like poison. machines obviously can't be affected but they will still corrode if she uses strong acids like hydrochloric or sulfuric acids. 

▸ they take time to produce — usually she has a good amount of everything already stocked up in her reserves, so she tends to do better in short and small battles, but once they drag beyond fifteen minutes, or go over ten to fifteen opponents, the potency and efficacy of her ailments start to drop exponentially. and because good concoctions take time to make, she can't rely on her quirk for extended durations of time. 

▸ it's easy to tell when the gas will be produced — the flower on her head is the most tell-tale indication. the flower is usually closed, but once it blooms, the gas is released. so any observant opponent would have taken notice of that and should be able to easily avoid that by holding their breath or getting a mask or the like. 

▸ the duration and strength of the status ailment depends on the concentration of the concoction — as mentioned, the longer she spends making her concoctions, the more powerful they become, but the reverse is also true. if she only has a minute to make a paralysis concoction, it won't be very strong and will only be effective on the opponent for about a minute or two, or even less for stronger opponents. 

▸ she can also be affected if she's not careful — while she is already rather resistant to the ailments themselves, she cannot inhale too much of it or she will also succumb to them, especially if they are of higer concentrations. 

 

▸ increasing the rate of growth of plants — while not very good at it, she can also make plants grow from seeds too like haruka, but she's just not great at it. takuro thinks she's not gentle and patient enough for such delicate procedures. 

▸ enhanced speed and stamina — she moves quickly, thanks solely to her years of training.

▸ conditioning — she's very very fit, thanks to her daily morning jogs and intense training regime. she does relatively well even when compared to her classmates who are at least have one superhuman quirk. 

FIGHTING STYLE: 
she's a quick and efficient fighter; she has to be, for her quirk is not suited for long fights unless she fights without her quirk, which is most of the time anway. she's fast, agile, and very flexible. she's the best at close-combat and can pack quite a punch, and also a kick, especially with the spikes on her knuckles and shoes. attack then inflict, that's her fighting style. she knows her quirk cannot always be relied on so, if she can't win with it, she will have to rely solely on brute force. yes, she knows that's not very ladylike of her, especially with the elegant suit she has on, but what choice does she have?

WEAPONRY: 
akane doesn't have a specific weapon that she has affinity for as she's more of a fist-to-face combat kind of person, but she does appreciate the brass knuckles and spikes that are already in-built into her suit. she's also proficient with throwing knives and darts but doesn't use them very often as she relies on her fists more. she does however, keep some in her back pocket, just in case. said knives and darts can be laced in poison or acid as well if she wishes. the poison can either kill or paralyse her opponent as she wishes; as long as she makes even the smallest of cuts, they're doomed.

▸ pink — surprisingly for a tomboy like her, she really likes pink a lot; maybe it's got something to do with her hair?

PERSONALITY: 
momo is someone who is highly similar to akane, which is possibly why they clash often. she's highly intelligent, much more so as compared to akane. she's dedicated, and a natural leader, who can remain calm even in the most dangerous of situations. of course, there will be times where she loses confidence in herself, but once she picks herself back up, she's even stronger and revving to go.

 

momo can be rather blunt with her words too, and often displays little care when she makes comments about their performace or attitude in class. she means absolutely no harm though, because she genuinely wishes for her friends to improve and become great heroes for their generation. as a result, she's always willing to lend a helping hand, especially to those who need a little push in the studying department. 

 

she can be rather naive and silly at times too, easily falling for pranks or going along with someone's ridiculous ideas, though with much reluctance. when she gets excited however, she tends to become what the class would describe as "bouncy", in that she becomes very upbeat. akane finds this side of hers very adorable, and always tries to draw it out, despite failing most of the time. 

FIRST MEETING: 
their first meeting was a rather rushed one; they had taken seats next to each other during their interviews (since they got in by recommendations) and had barely introduced themselves to each other when they had been ushered into different rooms for their quirk testing. they didn't bump into each other anymore that day.

 

the second time they met had been in class. they were surprised to see each other, moreso to be in the same class. their seats were far, but they got along well, especially when the other balls of sunshine girls had come bounding in and introducing themselves. they didn't get much along time together, even during their second meeting, but akane already knew, she was already starting to show signs of attraction to momo.  

LOVE STORY: 
it was surprsing to momo that she had gotten so close to another girl that easily, but they had a certain connection with each other, so she never ever questioned it. she had never known what it was like to feel that way but they made easy friends, both having similar personalities and having gotten in through recommendations. they had bonded over their similar quirks and mutual likes and dislikes. they were comfortable with each other; far too comfortable by normal standards apparently. it raised eyebrows between some of their classmates who were far too polite to address the elephant in the room.

 

the reason for such a reaction from their classmates was that they spend a lot of time together, both in and out of school. they always stayed back together to study together, they would eat lunch together, sometimes momo would follow akane back to the cafe to study (and with time she was roped into helping much to haruka's disdain) or akane would go over to momo's place on a weekend to hang out or study. she always tagged along whenever momo was tutoring those who lagged behind during the mid-terms. her excuse for being there was that she could help with tutoring too! 

 

what came as more of a surprise to their classmates was how willingly affectionate they both were towards each other. akane was always the one initiating contact with momo, sometimes jokingly groping her, to which momo would respond with a shocked squeal of embarrassment before lightly telling akane off with an exasperated sigh. but she never complained, and when mineta tried, all he got was a kick to the face from akane because "only i can momo, so piss off grapeboy!" she had hissed. akane also naturally leans against momo as well when they're next to each other; except during training because those had to be taken seriously, but during any other time, akane's head is always on the taller girl's shoulder while she reads her own book or momo's. backhugs from akane to momo are a common sight too (they usually end up with akane grooping momo) and sometimes, just sometimes, they'd see momo's hand creeping up to akane's hair, or to link her arm with akane's as they as they window shopped. they were little things that everyone but them noticed, but again, no one dared to be the enabler.

 

momo was confused, nonetheless, about her feelings towards akane and their closeness despite being two girls, but she brushed it off as being exceptionally close to a friend but perhaps she was afraid of opening pandora's box, and that it would somehow change their relationship it wouldn't. on akane's end however, from the very beginning, she already knew she was going to fall for momo, and she was right. the more time she spent with momo, the more she started falling in love with her. she wanted to be the comforting shoulder that momo could lean on when she was sad, and she wanted to be the one momo would always come back to. she could sense the other girl's distress and confusion, but she was afraid, afraid to bring the idea of being in a formal relationship up. she was afraid of disrupting the delicate balance they already established. she was fine with this. she was. she told herself. 

 

akane also once made a passing remark that perhaps they were meant to be rivals. but it was true to some extent. they were always compared to each other in class, in terms of intelligence and overall performace. they both didn't like it, not one bit. couldn't they have gone a day without being compared to each other? was it that hard to see the both of them as equals? why did they always have to be comapred? it unknowingly put a strain on their relationship but both of them refused to admit it to the other, instead choosing to maintain the status quo, something that seems to be happening a lot in their relationship.

 

after that particular revelation, something in their relationship shifted; they couldn't work in tandem as they previously had, and it confused the both of them because what had changed?  they couldn't figure out what was wrong with the both of them, but they didn't want to find out either. they didn't want to ruin what they had left. so, they left it be. and they found themselves drifting apart, spending less and less time with each other and with other people though there were always the fleeting glances when they went their separate ways. they started drowning themselves in their own work because everything else reminds them so fondly of the other. but every night, as they lay in bed, the same thoughts run through their heads.

 

 

 

ENDING: 
well, i made this love story rather open-ended because i didn't want to affect canon too much, which is why i didn't specify when exactly their relationship begins to change (i'll leave you to decide that!) but of course they don't ever have to end up together despite me really wanting that to happen huhu but it's all up to you! their relationship is an open book! also by all means, use the final exams arc to develop both akamomo's relationship as well as chidori and shoto's relationships! i think it'll be a good fit here!  

STATUS:

TRIVIA: 
▸ their ship name is very aptly named, akamomo or red peach. red from aka in akane and peach from momo.

▸  they once gifted each other on the same day, for no apparent reason. akane gave momo a hand-stitched matryoshka dolls (which was honestly very ugly and momo could have done much better but she treasures it either way) and momo gave akane a rose-shaped locket with a holographic image of them inside (the picture was taken when they went shopping together one day and had a competition of who could be the worse dresser). momo sleeps with the doll whilst akane wears the locket everywhere. since their drifting apart, they both always look at their respectively items wistfully at night. 

 
COMMENTS: 
SO YAY SHE'S FINALLY DONE! /wipes sweat/ i didn't expect momo and akane's relationship to turn out this way tbh, it was a lot more violent and competitve in my head hmm... but nonetheless, i truly hope you enjoyed my girl!
