dal has black hair about her forearm. she's on the lighter shade of skintone, and is rather slender. she's well-aware that her monolid eyes gets abused with tapes and eyeliner—but eh. she agreed to that. had slightly parted lips and long nose bridge. had two cartilage piercings, both on the right, and three lobe piercings on the left and right.

 

dal smiles a lot off-stage and gets quite giddy (read: excitable) easily. if she's in a more serious situation however, she gets a little more poised, hands folded and standing straight.

 

dal likes her things  pastel and plain. Or lacy with mesh. she prefers most pastel colours and usually had brands in the name. she isn't really picky with what she gets, but avoids miniskirts.

dal's persistence to be an artist fuels nearly everyday of her life now; trainee life is full of pain that way, but dal had fully understood that prospects.she decides to give it a go anyway.

 

there's just a certain nostalgia and heart, that when she trains to get better. she liked that good feeling. yes, she realized she could have slipped and ended her career right when she makes the wrong move, so she's fully in control of her own desires and feelings. she knows what they wanted in an idol, so she does it anyway. it's not the unreal part of her. it's just one side of it. she doesn't mind showing what sides people wanted from her, and she acknowledges that she may have easily seen it past them. still, she doesn't have the heart to tell them if it's enough yet, in fear that they would get up and leave.

 

dal's determination made her want to learn more to be better at the industry and the art. she may not be the best rapper, made the sickest beats, or even write like her mother's amazing (she admitted) lyrics, but she learns experiences added up and she applied to them well when she made her own songs.

 

dal gets hurt easily, though. even if she wanted to satisfy people, she knows that it's at the expense of her. it's one of the reasons why she's very afraid to show people the real, true her, and it's what people like saera, rizar, and even nayoung knew; dal hasn't reached her full potential because she's so afraid.

 

dal doesn't mind to get some more information for herself... yet she's afraid to push herself out of that boundary. she has a filter of her own, where she puts all the things she deemed unsafe out, and if something tries to break that, she would not like it. she deems that filter good enough, not realizing that it's not always the truth. she's wanted to learn more, but often felt inadequate and unprepared, and she does get hurt by negativity easily, so she often plays with the safe ones for long before she moved on.

 

dal cares genuinely for her members and would wish them the best for all of them, and knows they're her responsibility. but there's also the fact that her care can be smothering, and it could hurt the group in the long run.

background

dal was abandoned just when she was born, so a woman picked her up. the woman was choi saera, and when she found her, it was about full moon. so she was named dal (meaning 'moon').

 

they lived in a relatively quiet suburbs in perth for four years, where saera worked as an accountant. dal also went to school, sometimes wondering about her father or why her mother seemed to despise the korean songs she likes. eventually though, they moved to seoul, because saera misses it, and the news has died down enough that dal wouldn't know.

 

dal loved jazz and gospel, but she fell for ccm and hip-hop songs. she started mouthing the songs, going on how the lyrics went and how the beat should be; especially k-hip hop. she followed her first battles when she's 16.

 

soon enough, saera noticed this, and it came to an end after dal actually rapped at an underground competition in seoul. what's worse, dal met up with lee hyuntae. he just opened his company and dal idolized him, and invited her to be a trainee.

saera and dal fought about this, but dal, at the age of 18, met hyuntae. as a rapper with the status almost at yg's level, his entertainment bought in quite some trainees, and he decided to debut a girlgroup.

but saera was angry, and she came to his company. turns out, saera was a famed rapper, back in the 1990s, but got into a scandal after hyuntae cheated on her. hyuntae realized their connection, and immediately pulled saera out of the company. this was about three months after dal got into it.

dal confronted saera about this, and demanded her actual parents. so saera told it all; from her adoption and when dal became her child, the false news spread that dal is an illegitimate child of saera. the worst part was that dal got actual hate from public. saera got upset, and decided to move to perth and end her career completely.

dal was absolutely crushed at the revelation. saera assured her that she would always be a family to her, no matter what.  but saera warned her about the idol industry, and wanted dal out of it. yet dal disagreed, as she fell in love with the art itself and already doubted saera. she continued to stay in seoul, but their relationship remains strained.

one year later, dal has composed and wrote her own raps as she battled at the underground; rizar saw her, and recommended her to junhyuk. dal met with rizar and junhyuk, and eventually became part of ace in february 2016.

tl;dr: dal was adopted, her mother was an infamous rapper who then erased her identity in australia, but dal founds out anyway, gets kicked out because of the past, only recently knows the full deal, but gets better and is now at ace entertainment.

trivia

— in an interview, dal revealed that the company considered her stage name 'moon', 'artemis', 'diana', or 'luna'. Even she was listed as 'artemis' under early pre-debut discussions. but dal decided to be her ownself and changed it.

—dal also noted that her eyes are the body part she likes the least; she wanted to get a double eyelid surgery, but her saera never allowed it. and only few knows what happens if saera gets pissed off. money is also a problem for her.

—not a lot of people knew her adoption or her connection with famed rapper choi saera; but junhyuk knew about it (and decided to keep it a secret).

—dal's weakness is cute boys. she fawns over them easily, especially exo (chen) and bts (rm, suga). gave her the fanmeeting tickets and she would do whatever you want. or, song joongki. really.

—she likes a lot of k-rappers, but hyuntae is one of those she used to idolize. no longer, though. she likes madclown, dj doc, deepflow, to name a few.

—she also wishes to be on return of superman; she just loves watching the variety shows. so far, her favorite has been the twins and triplets.

—rap is like storytelling for her; it's where she wants to tell about something she knows well. 

—she's the group's exhausted hen. also their english 'translator'. also, a bit smothering. you had amaryllis, so that's justified.

—dal's korean is also why she's the lead rapper. she's much, much better at it now and managed to remove most of her accent, but it's still not as good as a native.

—dealt with discrimination pretty much worse in south korea, she would secretly admit. her english is good, but when she came, her korean had a thick accent and she wasn't raised with the customs. it was the most highly stressful time for her.

hyuntae ent. (may 2012-august 2012)

joined because lee hyuntae was the rapper she idolized; he had planned to debut a new girlgroup and she was good enough to be a rapper (and quite pretty). but saera's encounter and the ugly truth made him kick her out. hyuntae ent. also mysteriously disappeared afterwards. according to the ex-trainees, hyuntae ran off. it tainted his name. dal was awkward with dancing.

 

ace ent. (2016-2017)

 

rizar saw her and likes her well, and convinced junhyuk about her. junhyuk agreed, and realized she could be helped a bit with her dancing, but overall was well.

scandal: 

[ dal of evr is the daughter of choi saera? ] basically some journalists get pesky and dal accidentally revealed that; she gets a huge backlash afterwards, but it did die down. saera defended her  daughter, and the company clears it out.

relationships

saera still loves her very dearly and dal has pretty much forgiven her, but dal's relationship is strained. the older still disagreed with her choices, but saera wanted it. so they're both still not on speaking terms. dal wants to debut so that it would prove her mother that dal deserves it. dal never minded saera's scandal, never did.

dal's wary of nayoung because her words hurt. nayoung isn't close to dal because she's actually teared up once after hearing her saying some hurtful criticism. dal knows nayoung is a good person and so does the older, and nayoung realized that dal hasn't reached her full potential. she wished dal listens to her, so that she could pull it off. 

she's hyuntae's ex-trainee, and one of the closest korean trainees to dal. got to a point that dal stayed with her before she even came to hyuntae ent, until she got into ace. they still kept close contacts, and sujin trained her really well, multiple extra nights, so dal improved dancing.
