appearance. Weihan has black hair that tends to stick up in the back. It makes him look more like a kid, but he doesn't mind. His face is rounder, which adds to the kiddish look, and let's be honest here, his eyes are smol. He's a pretty boi, so much that ppl wonder if he was selling his body...

But yeah nothing different from faceclaim. He has a small star-shaped birthmark on his lower back and has a faint linear scar above his right eyebrow from when he was learning to walk and bashed his head into a table. He also has assorted scars all over his body (most notably hands and arms).

personality. Giiiiiiiiirl it's been a while since i've applied to your fics, but as always, positives first. Weihan is a loyal . If he likes you, if you've done smth to gain his trust, he'll follow you like a loyal hound dog. This ain't always great since he could get involved with bad ppl like criminals, but Weihan's smart and he usually doesn't get in trouble. Usually. He's also the resident mom friend, and he will smother you in affection, whether or not you want it. His affection is actually sorta greasy, more like a y older brother type LOL but hey, if he likes you, you can't escape it. It's also nice since he genuinely cares, and he'll take time out of his own schedule to listen to your problems. He'll help you try to solve them too, and he'll try to give you advice on how to deal with it. He's the kind of person to notice the small details, like how badly does that injury actually hurt, oh you like top bunks we can switch beds, this person prefers classical music while this other person likes folk music, etc etc. He remembers the small details and tries to make his friends' lives that much better by catering to them specifically. He's also quite cheerful and has a sense of humor. Of course, it's mostly dirty and/or self-deprecating jokes (" is using a feather, is using the whole chicken..." "what does a 75 woman have between her that a 25 year old girl doesn't? her navel LOL" <-- reference to saggy lol). But fr, due to his thoughtful nature (nudge nudge wink wink), if you need a real pick-me-up, Weihan will have one ("A man showed up to a duel with nothing but paper and a pencil. He then proceeded to DRAW his weapon").

Phew. What a man. Negatives yo. Okay, so this boi has ZERO patience. He asks you smth, you didn't hear him or you need to think about it, and almost immediately, boi turns around all angry and asks someone else. Like wtf bro, give me a few seconds?? Due to this, he's also quite rash and makes on-the-whim decisions. You didn't apologize to me after I asked you three times? LET'S GO BRO. Seriously this dude is like Hanbyul breakdancing on the ing wall... aka dumb when it comes to this !! Anyway yeah, if it wasn't already obvious, Weihan is QUITE the violent guy... ironic for a mom friend. He's already ready to fiteTM and actually, he can knock out some pretty good fighters. He's a pretty good fighter despite his shorter height and knows how to use the surroundings to his advantage. But of course, being violent isn't a GOOD THING and he gets hurt a lot (gets lots of scars poor bby ;;). His mood literally changes like lightning, like if he's originally in a good mood but then smth displeases him, even if it was trivial, he'll get angry like God himself sent down a thunderstorm. On the contrary, it's SCARY how quickly he can change from angry to happy. Like if he's just ranting about smth and you approach him (you have nothing to do with the matter), he'll immediately perk up and face you all cheerily like he wasn't just muttering death threats to that goddamn captain........

If everything is going smoothly, Weihan gives off the vibe of a cheerful, airheaded kid. He can be fairly whimsical and just talk about the randomest things ("do you think seagulls can fall in love with us? what do you think happens when we die?"). He enjoys some deep talk, but the downside to that is he usually feels like afterwards ;; (nothing a good sleep can't fix). He's surprisingly realistic, having grown up poor, and does not harbor any high-flying dreams. Nope, all he wants to do is make a living. It might seem conflicting to have both distrustful and loyal as personality traits, but tbh Weihan just doesn't trust many ppl. He doesn't like to be vulnerable, so he trusts very few ppl, which means he doesn't make many true friends. However, when he does, he's loyal to them forevaa mwahaha

background. Weihan was born in a poor Northern city in [the equivalent of China/Asia]. Growing up, he didn't have much. All he had was his family's musical skills and an old violin, passed down from generation to generation. His family had once been celebrated musicians, performing for even the highest-ranking officials [emperors or some ], but by his father's generation, the officials no longer appreciated music and the court musicians had fallen out of favor. Probably logically, since the country was experiencing a food shortage, and no one wanted to spend money on unnecessary extras such as music. So, with no customers to service, the Xin family relocated to the poor North, where food was even scarcer, in hopes of making a living as folk performers. Of course, it wasn't enough, and sometimes they had to try to farm as much as the Northern soil could offer. It wasn't much, but it fed the family and kept their skills alive. Weihan grew up learning various types of music, but when he was seven, his ailing father put the ancient violin into his hands and implored him to always treasure it, because it was the only legacy the family had left.

Between school and life (performances and farming), Weihan practiced the violin until his fingers bled, but the winter he was thirteen, the cold struck deep, the crops froze in the ground, and Weihan's father died. His distraught mother followed soon after, and Weihan was alone. The mayor took him in and took care of the funeral processions (it was small and lonely). The mayor offered to let Weihan stay until he turned eighteen, but Weihan refused. He couldn't bear to stay, not when there was nothing left for him, so he left. He took whatever money he still had from his family, some food from the mayor, and a spare change of clothes. Then, with his violin, he left the town.

He travelled East until he reached the sea. During his journeys, Weihan was surprised to learn that there were other ppl just like him, kids who had lost their parents, families who had been driven out of their homes, on the run and trying to survive. He bonded with a few of them, travelled with them and shared his food, until one day, he woke up with all his food and money gone, and the family whom he'd been travelling with had just vanished. The only thing left was his violin, and from then on, Weihan stopped trusting so blindly. He begged for food on the way, exchanging it for his skills and a few minutes of music. Thankfully, most travellers were sympathetic, and Weihan lived long enough to reach a port city. Once there, he became one of those street musicians, playing piece after piece in exchange for some money or food. During the nights, he would sleep under a bridge or next to the bakery, in hopes of warmth or even scraps the next morning. This went on for a few years, and Weihan was not happy. He wanted a job, he wanted to make the music come to life. He didn't leave his home to become a beggar. On a random whim, the winter he was fifteen (man everything happens in winter), Weihan entered a well-known pub, The Classic, for warmth and found a home.

He found live entertainment there, magic and dancing and music, and immediately, he knew he had to work here. Weihan didn't drink, but he bought a beer with what little money he had and talked to the bartender. The bartender, a pretty man called Hyesung, agreed to talk to the owner about hiring Weihan. In the meantime, though, Hyesung let him live in the kitchen so he wouldn't have to freeze on the streets. Two days and an audition later, Weihan was hired, and from then on, he began to work in the pub, playing music for the customers. He'd been trained in classical music, but because his family had been folk performers as well, he knew a few folk songs. In the pub, Weihan learned even more: jigs and rondos and straight-up improvs. He was truly living, and suddenly, all the suffering on the streets was worth it. However, because he was living at the pub with the other staff (the owner, Junghyuk, felt terrible that a kid would have to sleep on the streets), Weihan had to shoulder some household chores too, such as cleaning and cooking and hell, Hyesung even taught him some bar tricks.

Being a musician, Weihan eventually reached the point where just playing music wasn't enough for him. He wanted more, something that he would be remembered for, and he decided that he would compose. It was hard at first since he had zero idea, but by talking to some of the other musicians and simply by observing their playing, Weihan gradually learned how to properly balance the melody and the harmony, and where to place just the right countermelody. His music showed the influences on him: he incorporated melodies from classical music but also folksy undertones. He strove to write music that everyone could enjoy. At the same time, he tried to write lyrics for his songs, but he's not an eloquent person and doesn't know how to manipulate words, so he quickly gave up on that idea. But soon, as he began to compose more and more, his reputation grew, and more and more ppl came to the The Classic to hear this boi play his songs. Of course, as his fans grew, so did his haters. Many people ended up uncovering his past, and his hates accused him of running away from his past. "You know you don't mean anything. Your ancestors used to play for the [emperor or equivalent]." "You're trash compared to your predecessors... how can you even call yourself a musician when you play folk tunes?"

However great something is, it must have a breaking point. When Weihan was eighteen, just barely an adult, a large group of men came into the pub, claiming to want to hear the "legendary boy play his little instrument". Immediately, both Hyesung and Weihan knew these ppl were nothing but trouble, but unfortunately, without Junghyuk's permission, they could not possibly kick any customers out, and it just so happened that Junghyuk was towns away, doing some trading business. So, tamping down his anger, Weihan played for them. After the performance ended, the other patrons were amazed, but these men only shook their heads derisively. "Nah, definitely can't compare," one of them said. Another one took a drink and cackled. "Yeah," he agreed, "and by the looks of him, he won't grovel at our feet begging for money." "'My family needs to live, sirs, please!'" the first one mocked, and the others laughed.

Now, Weihan canNOT stand ppl making fun of him, but when they insult his family - when they mock the harsh times they've been through - that is God's own wrath. Weihan leaped off the stage and rushed over, instrument still in hand. He jabbed his bow at the first man's chest. "Say that again," he dared, breathing heavily. (At this point Hyesung's trying to make his way through the crowd, but as with pubs, fights are very very welcome, and the crowd will not let him through). The man looked down at the bow derisively.

"You, boy?" The other men stood up, ready to punt a , but the first man waved a hand to make them sit down. "You ain't worth . About as much as your old man when he worshipped my feet for--"

He never finished his sentence, and previous to that, Weihan didn't know his bow could be so sharp. Blood stained the bowhair, and the other men leaped to their feet, ready to kill Weihan, but thankfully, the crowd had had enough and restrained them long enough for Weihan to get the out of there. He got as far as the back alley when someone tall and lithe stepped out from the shadows. "I wouldn't do that if I were you."

THe man's name was Johnny Seo, and he was very much impressed with Weihan's musical skills, as well as his nerve to murder one of the Northern region's biggest officials. He was also a pirate, and having lived in a port city for so long, Weihan knew that pirates were dangerous. If he had already killed one man tonight, what would be one more? So he charged at Johnny, who sidestepped the attack and very professionally whipped out a sword and cut the bow clean in half. Remember this bow had been in the family for generations, and Weihan just about lost it when it fell apart. He was seriously ready to murder Johnny, but then the man said smth that made his blood run cold.

"If you run, the owner would be charged with the murder, yes?"

Ah, that's right. He couldn't let Junghyuk be charged with a murder, especially after everything he's done for him, and what about Hyesung, without whom Weihan would still be homeless? So he forced himself to calm down and listen to Johnny. Johnny had a plan, but first, his conditions: he wanted to recruit Weihan for his ship's crew, and in exchange for the job, Weihan had to kill whomever Johnny wanted him to kill, and in the meantime just play some music to liven up the atmosphere. Weihan didn't trust him, but at the thought of The Classic being burnt to the ground by city officials...

So when the officials arrived at the pub, Johnny Seo was waiting for them. He proposed to take away the dreaded murderer forever, promising to never let him return to the city, but in return, the officials would have to buy Weihan a new bow, and also leave The Classic alone. The ? The officials weren't going to follow orders from a pirate. But then Johnny tossed a small red sack at them, and suddenly everything was in good order. Weihan got his new bow, charges against The Classic were dropped, and Johnny got his new crew member. Weihan bade goodbye to Hyesung, Junghyuk, and the rest of the staff at the pub and went on his merry way to become a pirate.

how did Weihan meet johnny? Because I've already talked about this, I'll just add in a tl;dr here:

Weihan murdered a man at the pub in which he worked, and Johnny came to save him from death and the pub from destruction. They negotiated with the government officials, and in return for giving Weihan a job, Johnny demanded the utmost cooperation when it came to killing ppl.

what made him join the crew? He was sort of forced into it. Weihan didn't want to, but Johnny promised that he could save The Classic from a scandal if Weihan would join him. So in the end, Weihan joined because it would save the ppl closest to him.

how would he describe his relationship with the other princes? The Captain: Originally, Weihan didn't really trust Johnny. He joined the crew, but it was mostly because it would save The Classic. He thought pirates were all ruthless murderers who plundered and wreaked havoc for fun. But he noticed how Johnny treated the crew, like they were his own brothers, and eventually put down his misgivings. After all, he was one of them now, wasn't he?

The First Mate: Ngl, Weihan didn't believe such a soft boi could be a coldblooded murderer. But Klahan taught him how to kill, how to use that bow like a sword, and while they're not close, they sometimes talk about life.

The Weaponsmaster (collab with KoreanGal5): Originally, Weihan was distrustful of Kaito. They weren't close, but as Weihan became more comfortable with the crew, he began to let his personality slip out. Weihan loves making dirty jokes, and being pirates, most of the crew doesn't mind; in fact, they find them exceedingly funny too. There's also the fact that Weihan tends to be touchy-feely with ppl once he gets to know him. But anyway, once, Weihan directed one of his jokes at Kaito, not knowing his past, and Kaito just about murdered him. Weihan was so ing confused but also mad now ("what's your problem? it's just a ing joke") so they started fighting, and in the end, the entire crew had to work together to separate them. After they both calmed down, Johnny went and made them apologize to each other. Now, Weihan might be a moody , but he knows when he's done wrong. So he apologizes to Kaito, and all Kaito says is smth along the lines of "i don't like those kinds of jokes. my past..." and Weihan understands. "Yeah, I get you." So they start to tolerate each other more, and they're still not exceedingly close, but sometimes when Weihan works on composing songs, Kaito comes and gives him advice for writing lyrics. Weihan speaks in rhyme when it's like this, just them alone together, in an attempt to make things less uncomfortable for Kaito. It's like a little special thing they have.

The Navigator: tbh now i'm just going off what's on the plotlines sheet. But ahhh i feel like Weihan would sort of understand how Navigator feels about distrusting the crew. Like bruh "I only joined because otherwise everyone around me would die again", right?

The Saw-Bones: Weihan likes him a lot, actually. Johnny recruited them around the same time and if we're being honest here, he's one of the only ppl who bothers to put up with Weihan if he's in a mood. They parry with words sometimes and lowkey fight for the mom friend position, but more often than not, Saw-Bones can be found listening secretly to Weihan practicing his music with a smile on his face.

The Tactician: Weihan doesn't actually know him too well. He knows that the dude's smart and that he's gotten them out of trouble more than once, but ehhh that's about it. They don't often interact, and it's probably for the better. Weihan doesn't trust ppl who are too smart.

The Cook: O_O I know nothing about this plotline but uhhh it's all based on personality. If the Cook is cheerful and/or snappish, they're gonna get along fine. On the contrary, if the Cook is more pensive and , they're probably not going to interact much.

how would he describe his relationship with johnny? Although Weihan didn't much like him at first, he's since seen how Johnny treats his crew and respects him both as a person and a captain. Even though it's sort of his job to be Johnny's personal assassin, he would do it without prompting now.

FRIENDS.

friend: Mizushima Kaito (27) / crew member / part human, part koujin / NCT Yuta / 7

Basically what I said above They're still learning to open up to each other, although it's doubtful they ever will, but for now, they're content with being occasional hang-outers and lyric partners

friend: Johnny Seo (28) / captain / ??human?? / NCT Johnny / 8

Although he distrusted him at first, Weihan grew to respect Johnny because of how well he treats the crew. He then grew to trust him with his life and unquestioningly follows his orders.

friend: Klahan Daicharoenkul (21) / crew member / ??human?? / NCT Ten / 8

Even though Klahan's younger than him, Weihan finds that he can always learn more from the boy. They're not exceedingly close, but Weihan knows to trust him with his back, and [according to your character trends] he knows that Klahan actually cares deeply about all the crew members. The boy has a deep past, Weihan knows, and he doesn't pry. Instead, he talks some about his own life, reveals small bits at a time, in hopes that Klahan will find it comforting to know that he's not alone.

savior of a sort: Shin Hyesung (30) / bartender / human / Shinhwa's Shin Hyesung / 9

Hyesung essentially saved Weihan by offering him a job and place to stay. Ngl, Weihan had the HUGEST crush on Hyesung when they first met, and tbh maybe that never really faded... AHEM ANYWAY, Hyesung basically filled the role of a mother for Weihan, nagging at him but also showing him genuine care and gentleness.

Without Junghyuk, Weihan would still be on the streets now. He isn't normally a cheerful person, but he cares a lot about the ppl close to him and acted like a big brother to Weihan. He's close friends with Hyesung.

The Violinist.

The Saw-Bones.

duties.

▷ playing music

well, ngl, it gets boring on a ship in the middle of the ocean with nothing to do, so Weihan plays his music throughout the day to give the crew a pick-me-up. It also motivates them to do their tasks better.

▷ composing music/writing lyrics

Again, basically the same as above. If he plays the same songs over and over, the crew will eventually get tired of them, so Weihan has to keep coming up with new songs and words.

▷ cleaning

Everyone has to do it because they're living on the ship. Weihan doesn't really complain and does what's asked of him.

quirks.

▷ the crow's nest

Weihan likes the freedom, and being up there with the wind blowing makes him feel relaxed. Sometimes he will bring his violin up there to play, but it's mostly for himself since no one can really hear him from down on the decks.

▷ the clinic

For some ing reason, whenever Weihan's in a ridiculously good mood, he goes down to the clinic and get the Saw-Bones to listen to him perform.

▷ the kitchen

Weihan loves to play in the kitchen. He also lowkey uses it as an excuse to steal food and/or cook smth up for himself. He usually sneaks food when he's cleaning loool since everyone else is too busy working, they don't notice.

the magic. "It's odd, Weihan didn't even know he could do magic until after coming to Johnny. It was actually during one of the battles, when Weihan was just, yknow, casually playing a waltz while ppl where getting killed around him. Then, when Johnny calls out to him to kill "THAT ONE", Weihan stops playing long enough to point his bow at the dude, and suddenly, everything goes quiet. Honestly, Weihan has no ing clue what just happened - did he suddenly go deaf? - but it seems like the man is terrified too. The man screams as Weihan runs towards him but doesn't make an effort to move. Weihan kills him with a swift stab to the heart, and suddenly, all the noises of the battle rush back. "OVER THERE!" Johnny screams, and Weihan looks over at the dude this time. Nothing happens. The man charges towards him, and in a moment of panic, Weihan raises his bow to point at him. The man freezes, and everything falls quiet again.

Tl;dr: whenever he points his bow at someone, they are immobile, and everything they can hear is now between them (like the other person can only hear what Weihan says, and Weihan can only hear what the other person says)"

the weapons. "Legit the only thing Weihan uses is his bow. He could actually be good at swordplay, but he doesn't like swords."

how Weihan fights. "First, he listens to Johnny's call to kill whomever. Either that, or he determines a suitable target himself. Then, using his power, he makes the target unable to move, and then he rushes at them with his bow and kills them with a stab."

strengths and weaknesses. "Strengths:
- Element of surprise: you don't expect there to be a violinist at all on the ship, and you definitely don't expect him to fight
- Power: it's actually pretty useful since the other person can't run away
- Size: Weihan's not too tall, so it's very easy for him to slip under ppl's arms and stab them in unexpected places

Weaknesses:
- Strength: tbh he's not a very strong person, so he's definitely in trouble if someone confronts him straight up
- Power: he can't hear other ppl, so he won't know if someone's going to hit him from behind or from the sides
- Bow: bows break so ing easily omg once my bowhair came out and i did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING so yeah that's definitely inconvenient (although he can always use what's left of the stick to stabby stabby)"

skills/abilities.

▷ cooking

he learned a few basic dishes from his time in the pub

▷ bartending

it's so ironic, Weihan doesn't even drink, but Hyesung taught him some basic bartending skills and now he likes to show off LOL

▷ music

even though he's a violinist by profession, Weihan is a musician by nature and training. He can play other instruments like piano and harp and guitar, but he doesn't always have the chance to do so.

▷ instrument repair

I think this one's a given since, going through so much, Weihan's instrument's going to get beaten up a bit. Plus he should definitely know how to rehair bows on his own.

shortcomings.

▷ sewing

or anything with needlework. Weihan's not the most patient person, obviously, and he just can't sit still for that.

▷ healing

or anything to do with that. Sure, he might be a mom friend, but it's really more on the emotional side... Weihan ain't worth in the clinic LOL

▷ singing

despite everything musical he's done, Weihan actually has a voice. (If you allow the smoking thing, that could be part of the reason why). He can literally do anything else, but not singing.

But as for fashion, he almost exclusively wears white formal shirts that he rolls the sleeves half up, black pants, work boots, and an apron. The apron is the main star of the show lol it's a half apron, one that ties around his waist, and is sky blue and has ruffles around the edges. (Weihan got it for him as a birthday gift). "

personality. "Shin Hyesung = Mama Bird. All SHCJs know this, and this trait is not changing for this story XD literally, as long as he likes you, he'll smother you in affection and make sure you're aware that you're loved. He tries his best to be there for you and always has time to listen to you rant about anything. He's also stupidly nice to everyone (although he might not trust them). His main policy is "kill them with kindness" lol and is always willing to give discounts on drinks. He had a top-class education and knows anything you might have ever wanted to know (regarding facts, of course). He tends to spew out random facts as well lmao like just at any given time.

Granted, he has an unrealistic view on life and the world. He assumes ppl are nice and kind and helpful, which means he gets taken advantage of a lot. He tends to live in a highly-idealized world of his own mind and doesn't realize that real life is . He's also whiny as LOL any SHCJ will know. He'll get bullied into doing stuff (mostly by Junghyuk) and will whine the entire time while doing the thing. It's like, whatever he's not happy with, he'll whine about, and rest assured, everyone in the pub will know what he's whining about and why. He also holds grudges like a ... do even smth small to him and he'll dig it back out months later to use in an argument. Imagine what he'd do if you did smth really, really bad against him."

background. "Shin Hyesung was born Jung Pilkyo in [kingdom equivalent to Korea]. His mother was elvish, and his father was human. They lived in peace for a while, and Pilkyo even had a brother called Jinkyo. But then, when Pilkyo was ten, everything went to . Apparently, his mother was actually the runaway daughter of a pretty important elvish noble, and while she'd hidden her identity pretty well, she had still been exposed, and now her father's men were after her. The entire family went on the run. Pilkyo and Jinkyo weren't too close growing up, but from then on, they knew they had to depend on each other. Even on the run, the brothers had to learn , and since their father used to be a teacher at a high school and their mother had a top-class education, they learned from basically the best. When Pilkyo was fifteen, the entire family settled down south, in an incredibly busy trade city, in hopes that the elvish noble's men wouldn't be able to find them. Unfortunately, they did, but when Pilkyo and Jinkyo were at school. They abducted their mother and slaughtered their father, and then they were coming after the brothers too! Thankfully, the school's principal was an incredibly nice man and offered to let them stay with him. Pilkyo knew it was impossible to do that and that they'd be endangering him, so once again, they went on the run. He hid his identity as Shin Hyesung and Jinkyo called himself Hyejung. During this time, Hyesung took up the oddest jobs to support himself and his brother. It didn't matter if the jobs were hard, as long as he made money, he would do it. Of course, many ppl wanted to take advantage of his pretty face, but thankfully, he managed to outtalk them (expanded on power). When he was eighteen, he and Jinkyo found themselves in a northern port city, tailed by two men. Obviously, they were the elvish noble's ppl (do they ever give up??) and Hyesung was honestly beginning to give up. What was the point of running anymore? But then, a kid around his age suddenly came flying out and roundhouse-kicked the dudes, and what followed was an epic fight where a skinny eighteen year old punk beat up two elvish bodyguards. He actually ended up killing them, but meh whatever. Hyesung and Jinkyo were SHOOKETH, and the kid introduced himself as Junghyuk, the son of the owner of the pub they were behind. He offered the two a place to stay and jobs, and Hyesung gratefully took it. However, Jinkyo (now Hyejung, just to remind you) didn't just want to settle down. More rash than his elder brother, Jinkyo wanted to find the elvish noble and avenge his father and even find his mother again, so Jinkyo/Hyejung set off back across the country."

magic. "Hyesung is a silvertongue. His magic is called Allure, or Sweettalk, or even just Charm. It's basically where he can smth (anything at all) and make ppl believe it. He can also give ppl commands that they'll follow absolutely. It's part of his elvish heredity, but since he's only half elvish, it's weak. And he doesn't have much control over it; it tends to just slip out at random times (that's the reason so many ppl fall in love with him LOL he'll be like "but you love me" and ppl will fall under the Charm like "yeah.... i love you....")"

weapons and fighting style. "Ngl Hyesung's picked up some really weird fighting techniques throughout his running-away travels. He can literally pull anything on you, although he prefers to use a stick, like in martial arts, twirling it around and bashing ppl left and right. He tends to lag behind and assess the situation before rushing into the battle, but because of this, he knows the terrain well and can manuveur his way through a battlefield without too much trouble. (of course, he prefers NOT to fight)"

strengths and weaknesses. "Strengths:
- Charm: if everything goes well, he can basically Charm ppl into killing themselves
- Skillz: he needed to know how to defend himself, so he picked up on all sorts of different skills; you never know what he's going to pull on you
- Big Stick: he prefers fighting with a stick and knows how to do it well

Weaknesses:
- Weak: ngl he doesn't have the best stamina and s out quite early in the battle
- Inconsistent: because he switches up his fighting style a lot, he can't always remember what he's been doing and can sometimes stumble. Plus his power isn't really within his control.
- Defensive: he really doesn't do much offense; it's mostly defensive action, which isn't... the best plan?"

would he/she be useful on a ship? on their particular voyage, more specifically? why or why not? "Hyesung would totally be useful on a ship. He knows how to cook, how to mix alcohol, and if all else fails he knows how to keep the ship clean. He might actually come in handy on this voyage because he knows so much random and can tell you about most things you ask him about. Then again, he's not really... particularly suited for piracy?"

would weihan die for hyesung? would hyesung die for weihan? "Honestly, yeah. Hyesung saved Weihan from a terrible life on the streets, so Hyesung's basically Jesus to Weihan. On the other hand, Hyesung would 100% sacrifice his own life for Weihan because he reminds him way too much of Jinkyo... ;;"

are weihan and hyesung faithful, loyal, and honest with one another, or would they be if they were a couple? "Definitely would be. Loyalty is in Weihan's blood, and Hyesung gets attached way too deeply to let Weihan go ;;"

would hyesung take A blood oath and become part of the crew, should it be asked of him or her? "See, here's the thing. After the whole thing with Weihan killing a man, Hyesung realized that he couldn't stay at all. If city officials looked into his past, they would definitely find suspicion, and plus, he wants to find his brother, find his mother, and definitely avenge his father. So yeah, since being part of the crew would help him accomplish all that, he would definitely."

what would hyesung and weihan name their child or children, were they to have any? "THEY WOULD NOT HAVE KIDS LMFAOOO #no but um... I think for girls, Weihan would name a girl smth like Shiqin (诗琴), and Hyesung would go with Ibyeol (이별). For guys, Weihan would pick smth like Moxiao (墨萧) and Hyesung would go with Jisung (지성). "

▷ He's quite poetic lol
▷ He dwells a lot of his past and is often sad
▷ He smokes
▷ He has a beautiful beautiful voice
▷ No one knows his real name aside from Junghyuk and Sunho

first meeting. "Hyesung remembers that day like it was yesterday. It was just another normal night in the pub, and he was showing off a typical absinthe-lighting to an obviously-lovestruck couple. Then, the door opened, Hyesung looked up, and saw the boy. The boy had black hair, a sweet face, and an astonished expression upon seeing the band. Hyesung smiled to himself, but then something struck him as odd: the boy's clothes were tattered, and even his violin case was weather-beaten. When he came back to focus, the boy was sitting in front of him, quietly ordering a beer.

"I really like the orchestra," the boy says, and Hyesung decided to talk only to him that night.

"Yeah?" The boy hadn't touched the beer. "I see you have a case there. What do you play?"

The boy blushed. "Violin." He looked up, into Hyesung's eyes, and Hyesung was surprised to see fire there. "I want to work for you."

"Whoa there, I'm not the owner." Hyesung concluded that this boy must be homeless, living on the streets. "But I'll ask him about it." The boy's eyes softened, and he took a small sip of his drink. "Don't worry, he's a nice guy. In the meantime, would you like to stay with us tonight? I know it's cold outside."

The boy looked shocked, but he accepted, and Hyesung remarked quietly to Sunho, "He looks like he has a past."

Sunho only looked at him. "Don't we all.""

development. "Hyesung doesn't know when he fell in love with the boy. After Junghyuk hired him, they learned that his name was Weihan, and he was homeless. They let him live in the pub with the other staff, but at first, Weihan was cautious. He responded to everything too quickly, but eventually, he relaxed and became more comfortable with the staff and customers.

It must have happened when Hyesung watched him play that violin. The boy had a talent, he admitted, watching those magic fingers moving up and down the neck of the instrument. He could make something out of nothing.

It must have happened when Hyesung taught him those cheap bartending tricks. How to light a drink on fire, how to mix the colors, how to pour multiple drinks at once. He watched the boy's eyes light up in wonder and astonishment, then dim in disappointment as he couldn't do it. The boy gave up too easily, Hyesung noticed, but he had enough patience for the both of them, and the boy calmed down and learned.

It must have happened when Hyesung watched him struggle with new compositions. He watched the boy scribble furiously, angrily crumple up the paper, grab his hair in frustration. He soothed him gently, in that particular way of his, and the boy only shook his head, angry with himself. But eventually, he watched the notes flow effortlessly from the boy's fingertips.

It must have happened when they fooled around with the rest of the staff. The boy didn't drink, but Hyesung sure did, and when he did, he grew sickeningly affectionate, even more than normally. It must have been when, in a rare moment of giddiness, he kissed Sunho on the cheek, and saw the flash of disappointment and hurt in the boy's eyes.

It must have happened when Hyesung desperately tried to push through the crowd to get to the boy. But he couldn't, and all he could do was watch the boy he loved murder a customer (an obnoxious one, albeit). When the boy ran out, Hyesung chased, but the crowd held him back. You can't, he'll be arrested, your downfall. And Hyesung's tears fell.

It must have happened when Hyesung watched the pirate bribe the officials with a bag of gold. The boy returned to say goodbye, and Hyesung held him, crying, and didn't want to let go. It must have been then, that he realized he was losing another brother, someone who mattered more than anyone else, someone he wouldn't mind looking after for an eternity."

interactions. "The boy didn't trust easily, that much Hyesung understood. So he started out gentle (but isn't he always?), soft words and how-was-your-days, showing the boy that he was okay, not a threat, because he understands. As the boy began to open up, Hyesung talked more, about himself, about the pub, about his best friends Junghyuk and Sunho. The boy only listened, but he listened with bright eyes. Eventually, when Hyesung got through to the boy, he talked too, about his family, about his music, about his travels. Hyesung talked about his brother, his travels, but not once did he mention his family, nor his story. Eventually, they grew close, as close as brothers, joking around like a real family. Hyesung could swoop in and attack the boy with hugs and kisses, and the boy would only pretend to push him away, and Hyesung was happy. The boy reminded him so much of his own brother, but not really. He was someone... more intimate. Someone Hyesung could really take care of, because Jinkyo had always been so independent. The boy, Weihan, he was something more."

status. CRUSHES GALORE

ideal ending. girllll so yknow how Johnny's promise was that he'd take Weihan away and never come back? Well what if Hyesung signed on too, or he was a stowaway lol but that's too unrealistic. More realistic would be if they ended up coming back despite Johnny's promise, and Hyesung's like YOU, WHERE'S MY BOY!! And then he comes signs on or smth?? or even Hyesung goes signs onto another ship that Johnny ends up attacking and then they're about to kill him and Weihan's like NO DON'T DO THAT and yeah

but tl;dr I want them to meet again and start dating ;;;
