OTHER NAMES.   Pong — is a nickname she goes with because her given name, Pongiya Kumagai is difficult to pronounce and remember. She likes to introduce herself as 'Pong' unless the other person asks for her full name. Pong has a nice ring to it and it's somewhat memorable.
NICKNAMES.

▸ Ping Pong — the name was fist given by her father as an endearment which later discovered by her friends. Her friends enjoy teasing her by rhyming her name, "We know for sure that Ping Pong doesn't like pink but what if your Ping Pong she likes a thong?" that doesn't make sense but that is just how silly her friends are.
▸ THE JS — the nickname stands for 'The Japanese Student' due to her Japanese features which set her apart from the other students. People from other class who doesn't know her will refer her as 'The JS' from diamond class.
▸ girl —cross my heart, it's not what you think it is. She gains the nickname becaue she 's good at using her hands for creative purposes; knitting, drawing, building robots.

DATE OF BIRTH + AGE.   21th February
PLACE OF BIRTH.   Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan
ETHNICITY.   Half Korean, half Japanese
LANGUAGE SPOKEN.

▸ Japanese — is her mother-tongue. Born and grew up in the Tochigi Prefecture, she adopted the Kanto dialect that is also used in the modern-day Tokyo. Although she excels in other languages such as Korean and English, she still prefers Japanese over them. She does her thinking mostly in Japanese so she has the tendency of mixing-up words with Japanese. Once she stopped two children from figting with each other. She seperated them while saying, "Guys, please yamete-yo," which combined English, Japanese, and Korean all ot once. In fact, she does that quite often. People will also notice that she uses a lot of facial expressions in talking and goes "Eh~?" when she gets surprised or confused, a habit of a typical Japanese girl.
▸ Korean — she is fluent in Korean because her mother was of Korean descent and wants her daughter to be proud of her ancestry. She was given private Korean lessons since child. Back in Japan, she treasured the language as her and her mother's secret language since the people had a little to no idea of what they were talking about. Every now and then they'd go to some Korean bookshops for their mother-daughter bonding time and it was through reading that she developed her Korean literacy.
▸ English —advanced. Her parents sent her to a prestigious IB school in Tokyo where she studied there from kindergarten until junior high, even though it took an hour car ride from her home to Tokyo.

APPEARANCE.

Her eyes are the most striking feature of her face. She has big, rounded eyes that seems as if she's surprised 24/7. People usually ask if she's wearing any dolly effect contact lenses because with the huge eyes of hers, she does indeed look like a Blythe doll. Although she has cute eyes, she will not be considered as a cute girl because of her height. Standing at 170 cm high, she is too tall to be one. She weighs at 54 and is proud that she's not like the other lanky girls.

She always has short hair for as long as she remembers. It's low-maintanance and refreshing. She opts for brown hair; whether it's mahogany brown or espresso brown. Having her hair dyed makes her face looks much more alive since she refuses to wear any kind of make-up. She was born with thin, silky hair and pretty much always leaves her hair loose.

FASHION STYLE.

I wear everything limited edition is her motto when it comes to her style. She can change anything into a piece of clothing. She gets creative with it. Her usual trick is to use scarf as her top and remodel her jeans as jacket. That embroided leather jacket that you think is fresh from the runaway is actually fresh from her sewing machine. You will not find her in the designer stores, but in the fabric store or flea market instead. Her wardrobe is very denim and blue oriented. Powerpuff girls is her all-time favorite cartoon and she likes to put them on her clothes.

Pong has her uniform upgraded. She makes changes here and there. She changes the hem of her blazer into her favorite color, blue (she gets into trouble for this). Her skirt seems to be plain and normal at first glance, but when you inspect it further, she actually sews flower patterns on it. It's a very delicate touch and also her masterpiece so far. It took her weeks to make it.

PERSONALITY TRAITS.

(+) earnest, cheerful, hard-working, confident, daring

(=) clueless, ambitious

"I clearly tried to seduce you, did I get seduced too?"
- Cheon Song Yi from My Love from Another Star

(-) childish, possesive, proud, demanding

ELABORATION.
"What a nice, good-natured girl!"
When people first meet her, they will gush on her impeccable manners. She treats the elderly warmly and tries her best to assist them. Every now and then, you'll probably see her at the crossroads talking to some elderly while carrying their groceries. She'll see you staring and wave her hand at you, a big smile on her face that you'll probably think is fake. But no, she does good simply because it makes her feel good. She really doesn't see the logic of treating people badly, especially the elderly. We might as well make their last days pleasant.

Pong is very active with expressing her thoughts which means that she shows everything through her body language. She always make sure that her ideas are delivered clearly to the other person. You don't have to wonder if she's on your side or not, you will know it right away. Pong likes to do lots of skinship with people that she likes and if somehow she grimaces when you touch her, she might have an ill-feeling towards you. That's just how open her emotions are.

Her father had always taught her to pour her heart into everything she does because, "You don't have to work hard but when you give all of your heart into what you do, the results will come out nicely," he said. She put his words close to her heart and act accordingly. Whether it's school or relationships, she makes sure that she gives 101% into it. And so far, she hasn't been disappointed.

"That Pong girl is okay I guess,"
Although she is friendly with everyone, sometimes she's too aloof to read the social cues. Pong, being used to be the only child in her family, is oblivious when it comes to interacting with people. She'll just stand there cluelessly if someone cries in front of her and burst out laughing if someone's ever angry at her just because she thinks their expression is cute.

It was unsual for Pong to get her wish unfulfilled. From the day she was born, her parents made sure that Pong had everything she asked for. She has been hearing 'yes' her whole life. People are drawn to her kindness and will do anything to keep her happy because deep inside they also know that Pong will do the same for them. That's how everything supposed to work so she just couldn't grasp the idea of someone rejecting her. Why would someone say no to her?  But when someone does, she gets curious and it motivates her to try harder, to the point that it can get annoying at times.

"I don't think she's really umm... nice,"
Pong can get really possessive to what she owns. Just like a kid refusing to give up her toys, Pong hates it the most when people tries to take things away from her. Her people should always be her people and betrayal wound her deeply. If she sees her close friends hanging out with other people than her, she can get sensitive. Although not in an extreme way. She wouldn't kindap her friends and torture them just to be with her obviously. Her life is not a movie. Her life is full of childish impressions of the world around her. How different the world really is compared to her sheltered childhood where she didn't have to beg for anyone's attention.

Back in kindergarten, her teacher asked what she wanted to be when she grew up. Detective, she answered. Fast forward years later and it seems that Pong isn't meant to be a detective after all. That job is too good for her. Pong was born to be a stalker. Oh, the length she goes just to get the information she wants. She's the type of someone who will do a background check on her friends. Curiosity killed the cat but not Pong. She got her father's influence as a backing anyway. She probably won't show it but she knew everyone's family net worth, individual net worth, etc. It's like her hobby stalking people and it gets creepy sometimes because she knows when someone's lying to her or not. She knew whether you went skiing to the Alps or not, or whether your family really do own a private beach in Indonesia.

BACKGROUND.
Masatoshi Kumagai used to have it the rough way. He was half broke when he founded Kurakura Medical Systems, a bio-tech company specializes in radiation oncology treatments and software maker. Their medical devices include linear accelators and software for treating cancer and other medical conditions with radiotherapy, radiosurgery, proton therapy, and brachytheraphy. It is also a supplier of tubes and digital detectors for x-ray imaging in medical diagnostics, dentistry, veterinary care, scientific, and industry. Graduating from the department of medicine, he's gained his reputation as an ambitious health activist and later was appointed to be the state minister of health, labour, and welfare.

In 1995, he was introduced to Jung Euna through a mutual friend. Euna was a contract researcher at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. It took time before Euna finally agreed to marry the persistent yet soft-hearted man, Masatoshi Kumagai. Euna later gave birth to her first daughter, Pongiya Kumagai. The unsual name was her husband's idea. He purposefully wanted their daughter to always stay little by giving her a childish, playful name. They both did try to have a second child but the attempts continuously failed. This made Pong as her parents' treasured child.

"You only have to say what you want, sweetie," the sentence was repeated throughout Pong's childhood. She only had to name it and what she wanted would be delivered to her. It was like having Santa as your parents and getting Christmas presents everyday. But sometimes the attention could be overwhelming for Pong. She wasn't allowed to go out, so she used to throw slumber parties to have her friends come over and play with her. School could also be exhausting at times. Even though she went to a prestigious IB school where most of the rich kids went to, she didn't like to have her own chaffeur. As a kid, she looked up to Wonder Woman more than Disney princesses. Pong once asked her parents if she could go to school by bike and her parents weren't amused. With her limited freedom, Pong later turned to books. At least, the stories let her to have amazing experiences and see the world. She was a voracious reader ever since she was young.

Pong was 10 when her parents agreed to have a divorce. Pong didn't see it coming. They always had a peaceful househould. Never once did Pong saw her parents argued or her mother cried. And in fact, they didn't. Jung Euna simply decided that she didn't really love her husband anymore and Masatoshi Kumagai decided to let her go. Pong remembered waving at her mother at the airport. Jung Euna, her beloved mother, decided to go back to Seoul for a new start. It was a hard time for Pong and she was grateful that her father was there through it all. Her father despite his busy schedule always made sure that he came back at 9 PM and tucked her into bed, even though at one point she had already outgrew it. He also never missed Pong's important events whether it's her surprise birthday party or coming to her graduation.

In junior high, Pong fell in love. It was with a classmate of hers, Kim Jungwoo. He had just arrived in Tokyo and Pong was assigned to help him adapt with the school. It was the good old days when she would spend her time hanging out with him, showing him different sides of the Japanase culture. Everything went well when suddenly her father told Pong that their company was in jeopardy. Masatoshi Kumagai hated doing this to his precious daughter, but he had no choice but to put her in an arranged marriage with the son of the deputy prime minister. Pong was against the arranged marriage but she loved her father too much to be able to say no. It was set that the marriage was scheduled to be on her 18th birthday.

At their graduation, Jungwoo bid his farewell to his friends for his father had finished his work in Tokyo and they would head back to Seoul. Pong was unable to let him go so she went to her father. "Oto-san, it'll be my last wish before the arranged marriage. Please let me study in Seoul,"

LIFESTYLE.
Her father had prepared her a condo to live in Seoul in the Gangnam area, along with the live-in housekeeper. She stays there on weekdays and stay at her mother's on weekends. Madame Goo, the housekeeper, will wake her up at 5 in the morning. She wakes up early to cook her own lunch. After that, she'll have her shower at 6 and head to Jungwoo's house. Pong travels by bus. Having a personal chaffeur is like having his father's eyes on her. Although she loves her father a lot, it's still uncomfortable. Pong usually arrives when Jungwoo is having a bath, so she will help to make breakfast for Jungwoo and his little sister. She gets creative with her breakfast recipes, but their favorite is her apple-stuffed french toast. It's rare that for her to meet Jungwoo's father since he spends most of his time away, but when she does she makes sure to cook him delicious food too.

They don't talk much on their way to school. Jungwoo will probably has his nose buried in a textbook, while Pong playing Tap Tap Dash on her phone. Jungwoo will sometimes ask her to read the textbook for him since he's more of an auditory learner. And if Pong gets an A+ for a test, it's probably because Jungwoo asked her to read. Pong always makes her own lunch and will also bring Jungwoo's favorite banana. Her classmates like to come at her table and see what she brings for lunch because her menu is appetizing and beautifully decorated. After school, Pong will go to the club room and stay there doing her project for hours. If she's in the mood for it, she will ask to hangout with Jungwoo instead of working. Robotics and Jungwoo, they both are equal in her heart (her father comes first).

At home, she spends her time playing mobile games or just mindlessly browse the web. Watching DIY videos and practicing it is what she does to kill time. Pong is an early sleeper and early riser, too. She can sleep anyhwere, anytime and often at outrageous time like at the principal's speech. She often fall asleep while texting with Jungwoo at night.

On weekends when she visits her mother, she will bring books and they'll spend time together reading. Her mother also helps Pong with her projects and sometimes they'll go shopping together, though mostly it's for books. They also often Skype with her father. Her parents are still in a good terms with each other even after the divorce, and she's very thankful for it.

TRIVIA
Pong is gifted with her hands. She's able to make anything with it; from robots to clothes. Creativity is one of her strongest points. Her fingers are long and slender and people most people agree that she's indeed has beautiful hands. Though unfortunately, she has been overworking them that the skin is no longer soft and there are many cuts here and there. Pong is very proud of it, though. You'll often find her wearing band-aid on her fingers.

Pong fell in love with robotics when she met a talking robot greeting her in her family's factory. Eversince that time, she has been immersing herself in all things robotics and artificial intelligence. Pong used to practice making robots by building legos. Until now, she still enjoys playing legos and turning it into many kind of robots.

Pong designs and makes her own clothes. She rarely shops clothes from the department store. The only time she comes to the department store is when she's trying to find gifts from her father.

Pong is a foodie when also amateur chef. Those who have tried her food encouraged her to sign up for survival cooking show like Masterchef. Pong appreciates their support but she thinks that food tastes best when the motivation of cooking is for loved ones, not for competing for the title of being the best. Pong also always makes her own lunch and cooks for Jungwoo and his little sister too.

Pong was raised as a princess, but she's unlike some kind of spoiled, useless princess. She's the princess who likes to go down and dirty. Pong likes travelling. She's good at adapting in new places. Due to her curiosity and daring nature, she's open to try everything; from skydiving to caving. Her favorite place to go is the jungle. She often went there with her father and started to develop the liking for outdoor activity because her father is very fond of trekking.

Unlike other teenagers her age, she doesn't like music. The only music she listens to is Jungwoo's. She's a er for beautiful, meaningful lyrics. Jungwoo did introduce her to many other artists, but so far Jungwoo is still her favorite musician. Though John Mayer is also not that bad.

Her favorite movie genre is sci-fi. She prefers Star Trek over Star Wars (simply because Chris Pine as Captain Kirk is overwhelmingly hot). She dislikes romance movies the most; they are pointless with the negative side effects of giving people unrealistic expectations from relationship.

Pong is someone who can't get mad. When she's frustrated, she will end up crying. Because she can't raise her voice at someone, she will vent her anger by smashing things around her. She rarley gets angry, but when she does she can turn into the scariest person you'll ever meet.

Her father, Masatoshi Kumagai is the founder Kurakura Medical Systems. She is the heiress of the bio-tech company. Her father is currently the minister of health, labour, and welfare.

Pong doesn't own any SNS accounts. She has her own personal access to the dark web since her father is one of the most influential people in Japan. Through this dark web she gathers the information she needs. She has been reminded of how dangerous it is, but she thinks that as long as she doesn't upset the dark web communities, she'll be just fine.

RELATIONSHIPS.

father — Masatoshi Kumagai (50) | the Japan's state minister of health, labour, and welfare
hard-working, gentle, attentive| 9 out of 10.

Her father holds the 1st place in heart. He has always been there when she needs him the most. He's the kind of father who wouldn't want her daughter to ever felt lonely. He's a very considerate listener and someone who understands what Pong needs before she even knows it herself.  Pong likes to talk to his father about all sort of stuffs, from little things to heavy topics such as the essence of human nature. Pong feels most loved by his father. She adores her father more than anything else in the world. She wants to see him happy because she understands just how much he has sacrificed to keep the smile on her face.

▸ mother — Jung Euna (47) | physics professor at Seoul National University
kind, warm, practical, private/ 8 out of 10

Her mother reminds her very much of a midsummer's night; warm and at times it can be too hot it makes you sweat. She has always been a loving person. Only heaven knows what happened to the loving wife she used to be. Pong feels most safe when she's with her mother. When they're together, they never talk much. Jung Euna is someone who's very secretive. Though, they seem to have some kind of telepathy going on between them. Jung Euna is really sensitive to her daughter's needs and emotions. She can easily figure out what's going on her mind.

▸ jungwoo's little sister a.k.a. the sister she wishes she had — Kim Jungah (12) | student
  active, bossy, outspoken/ 7 out of 10

Pong is not good with handling kids. The first time she was introduced to Jungah, that little girl was only 9 and kept throwing on tantrums so she would buy her newest set of the Sylvanian families. Jungah still collects the dolls and Pong likes to bribe her with it so that she can spy on her brother for her. For someone her age, Jungah is very mature. Pong likes to go to her and talks about her relationship issues. Jungah gives good advice and so far her advice works.

▸ adventure pal — Yu Haera (17) | student
  passionate, risk-taker, curious/ 7 out of 10

Their friendship begins when Pong asks her classmates if any one wants to have a quick getaway with her to Daegu. Pong has read it somewhere that Daegu is a nice place to refresh. The response she got was, "Ya! Exams are starting soon," but then Haera came up to her and said, "I'm up for it. Can we also go hike the Palgong mountain?" and they've been adventure pal eversince. Pong will look for her when she's in the mood for a spontaneous trip; whether it's just visiting the newly opened cafe in the neighourhood ot hop on a KTX train to Busan. Their conversation is mostly about exotic destinations and of course, food.

STUDY HABITS.   Pong hates studying. She couldn't care less about her grades although she's quite gifted on STEM subjects. Her efforts in studying are limited to listening intently in class and copy everything written on the board. She has the habit of studying early in the morning before the exam starts. Rather than studying for exams, she'd rather spend her time polishing her latest robot design or discussing on artificial intelligence with her club mates. As the head of the robotics club, Pong is responsible for conducting club activities. She easily gets immersed in planning programs alongside with other board members. Because it is something that she loves, she will always give it her all.

Pong sometimes will drag Jungwoo to the hanok (traditional houses) restaurants after school with 'study together' as an excuse. They will get a room to themselves while eating seafood pancakes. You will not find her reading her textbooks of course, she is someone who brings her own wifi device to such place. Her eyes will be fixed on the laptop screen before her. It's easier for her to focus coding on a quiet surroundings. She can spend hours coding in that place and if she gets bored, she always has Jungwoo to annoy. And that guy, unlike her, spends his time studying seriously. Jungwoo usually will hand her practice questions which she must answer. If not, he will leave the place. The threat does work and it's the most efficient way to make Pong study.

NICKNAMES.

▸Jay his father actually came up with the name since they travelled a lot and the name Jungwoo is hard to pronounce in foreign tongues.
▸Jaybulous Leader He was chosen as the class president because they think he has the leadership genes of his diplomat father. But unlike his strict father, Jungwoo is more of an easy-going leader. His classmates gave him the nickname because he's willing to cooperate when they want to trick their teachers.
▸Woo-chan
is how Pong usually addresses him.
▸Poobum — it's a highly classified nickname because of the embarassing story of how Jungwoo earned the nickname. Pong uses this nickname to threaten him to get what she wants, like to buy her a meal or treat her to the movie.

PERSONALITY.

"It all started years ago,"
His father holds the biggest control in his life. From an early age, he knew just how monstrous his father could be when he's displeased. His father used to slap and kick her mother a lot and he had to witness all of it in silence. Her mother persisted to stay in the abusive marriage for the sake of Jungwoo and his sister, Jungah, but then Jungwoo told his mother that she was better off without the family. Eversince that day, Jungwoo became his father's punching bag.
"I adore him,"
Jungwoo has always been a quiet, obedient child. He obeys everything he's told to. Being the first child and the only son in the family, he has to carry a lot of responsibility on his shoulders. He's very capable and trustworthy, all because he wants his little sister to always rely on him. Eveyrone will agree that he treats his sister better than everyone, even himself. But slowly, he starts to be a reliable person to everyone around him. His always refuses to show how much of a caring person he is. But underneath the calm facade, his heart is actually bigger than his ego.

He's actually very shy and avoids confrontations. He mostly will let people do what they want to and not mind it. As a true introvert, he rarely speaks up his mind. The only way for him to show his feelings are through music, in which he will bleed his feelings in it.
"Can you stop being such an A+ digger?"
Jungwoo has always been struggling with inferiority. His father doesn't want less than a perfect kid and he has to live up to that expectations throughout his life. The reason his father is so keen on having a perfect kid is none other than to elevate their rank in the high society. His father serves as a chargé d'affaires, or to put in another way he's just a temporary replacement for the ambassador. It's not that high of a diplomatic rank, and also not that low either. Because it's in the middle, his father has set his mind to do something about it.

Because of such mindset, Jungwoo thinks that everyone is above him level-wise. He unconsciously judge someone based on their connection and influence worth. And even the underlying reason why he agreed to be the class president actually has something to do with him wanting to be closer with the important kids.

Jungwoo hates failure the most and is very ambitious to the painstaking point. He gets depressed easily when he fails on something he does because he knew just what kind of reaction he will get from his father.

LOVE STORY.

"It was love at everyday sight,"
Pong remembered it was a sunny day. The sky was pale blue and cloudless she thought to herself. what a beautiful way to start the first day at school. Though it was the opposite for Jungwoo. For him, there was nothing memorable about that day. He got transferred to a new school again. But this time, his father told them that they planned to stay long in Japan. Her parents enrolled him to the most prestigious IB school in Tokyo. His father had told him beforehand that he should utizile this oppurtunity to make friends with all the important kids. It's a good start for future connections, he said.

He didn't realize that the girl who attended him on his first day of school was the daughter of Masatoshi Kumagai, one of the most influential people in Japan. Pong wasn't exactly what he thought Masatoshi Kumagai's daughter would be. She was..., different. Her lively upbringing is something he didn't see quite often in people he had met.

They got acquainted and he told his father about it. It was the first time his father had ever complimented him. Jungwoo was eager to get close to her. He began to spend more time with her; going to the arcade, having late lunch at McDonald's, and even meeting her father.
Looking back, Pong realized that between their late night funny meme texting and early morning wake up call, she had fallen in love.

"You have no idea that ever since we kissed, everything about you lingers,"
It wasn't until their final year that a major shift in happened in their relationship. Their class went to the mountain for their farewell trip. After the bonfire party, Pong tried to scare him with a story of a headless ghost that will steal boy's underwear at night. But instead of scaring him, Pong herself got paranoid. She asked Jungwoo to accompany her back to her vila and on their way Jungwoo was trying very hard to hold in his stomachache. He pooped himself only 2 steps away from the bathroom. Junwoo panicked while Pong was hyterically laughing. "I can't believe your just poo from your bums! HAHAHA" and that was how he earned the 'Poobum' nickname.

Jungwoo was embarassed and couldn't make himself to face her. Pong, noticing he was avoiding her, thought it was cute. She sneaked in into the guys' villa and threw rocks at Jungwoo's window. To prevent Pong's from waking the teachers up and getting both of them in trouble, Jungwoo headed downstairs to meet her.

Pong stood there with a naughty smile on her lips.
"W-what do you want?" Jungwoo asked.
"Why are you avoiding me. If it's because I saw you pooped in your pants, I promise I won't tell anybody about it,"
Jungwoo narrowed his eyes, not trusting her words.
"Oh c'mon Woo-chan, we're friends!"
"Just because we're friends that doesn't mean I should trust you,"
Pong seemed to considering something. "Hmm..., okay then," she leaned closer and kissed Jungwoo on the lips. "Do you trust me now?"
Never once did Pong ever seen Jungwoo blushed hard his neck turned red. That poor boy was muttering something in a language Pong didn't recognize. Pong threw her head back, laughing.
Jungwoo was angry of course. How could she do that to his innocent, lips! But then he looked up and saw how happy that girl was, and suddenly he no longer felt upset.

"It'll always be like this, right? Me chasing after you?"
Days after that, Jungwoo noticed the sudden change in Pong's behaviour. That loud girl began to talk less and crease her forehead a lot (meaning: she was thinking very hard). At first he thought it was just the usual woman's stuff, you know, the PMS thing. It was only through his father that Jungwoo found out Pong was being betrothed to the son of the deputy prime minister. His father was very happy because it meant that Jungwoo will also get an access to the deputy prime minister himself.

Jungwoo wasn't sure how he exactly felt. He liked being around Pong. She was the only who can bear his silence without being nosy and would be thrilled upon seeing him being frustrated trying to write a song with his guitar.

Then, Graduation day was approacing really soon and his father announced that they would head back home to Seoul. He would continue his study there.

Pong was the first person he told about this. That girl was very sad about it as was shown in her face, the way she looked at him with sad puppy eyes. Just before their graduation ceremony, Pong came to him and confessed her feelings. Jungwoo rejected her nicely. Why would he accepted her feelings anyway? She was betrothed to someone of a higher level than him.

He thought that would be the end of it. But he must've known by now that Pong was her father's daughter, the persistent kind.

RELATIONSHIP STATUS.
"Dating, because he is my prince. I feel like I'm a Cinderella with a ticking time bomb on my body haha," said Pong nonchalantly.
The interviewer then later seek Jungwoo for a confirmation of their relationship. Jungwoo had a sudden headache upon hearing Pong's name being mentioned. From the corner of his eyes, he could find Pong was waving his hand at him, probably trying to drag him into that weird restaurant again.
"I'm sorry, I don't know who Pong is," he replied.

INTERACTION.

"Today is all we have you know, so I'll spend it loving you,"
Pong likes to cling to Jungwoo, while Jungwoo takes more of an indifferent approach to her and let her get close to him for old  times' sake. Though, he secretly enjoys being around her because Pong is weird and her bright personality is infectious. She's just someone who can turn any situations into fun moments.

It gets annoying at times when Pong keeps on plestering him, especially in the classroom. Pong will have the seat next to him and ask him questions regarding the subjects. Jungwoo thinks she's trying to seek attention from him, while in fact the girl is really clueless about what's happening in the class. She goes to school only to meet Jungwoo after all, and if she wants to keep on meeting him everyday she needs to give some efforts on studying.

Pong remembers that Jungwoo likes bananas from their middle school days, so she would put a banana with a smiley face drawn on it on his table. Jungwoo's favorite banana is Pong's. She seems to have a knack of choosing the perfectly ripe banana although she herself dislikes any kind of fruit.

Pong does want to spend all of her time with Jungwoo, but she also has her own life too. That's why she uses their break and after school time with her hobby, making robots with her fellow robotic's club mates. She often gets lost in her own world that she momentarily forgets about everything that's happening in her life and Jungwoo. Pong has the habit of skipping the next class after lunch break. While she's away, Jungwoo sometimes steal glances at the vacant seat next to him and wonder what kind of smart robot will Pong make.

Pong usually will be the one who initiates on spending time together. Their kind of date involves Pong blabbering on about her latest project and Jungwoo nodding to everything she has to say. Jungwoo has no idea when did it all started, but after spending a lot of time together, he will go to Pong to ask for her insight on his music. Pong will always be the first to hear Jungwoo's music.

Through his music, Pong seems to have a grasp about what's hapenning on Jungwoo's life. No matter how hard he tries to hide it behind his 'open for interpretation' lyrics, Jungwoo's inner thoughts still bleed. And that's how Pong first notices he has something going on with his family.

Jungwoo never talks to anyone about it but then the situation worsens when he starts to come to school with bruises. He will gush it off by saying that he got into a fight. Pong will tease about how 'baka' he was while tending his wounds. She will refuse to look at him in eyes. It was then that Jungwoo realized she was silently crying.

Jungwoo is aware about her arranged marriage and begins to distance himself from her. Pong thought that it's because he has lost his patience. He asks Jungwoo to let her stay by his side just until they graduate. Pong always jokes that when she marries, she will make a robot who looks exactly like Jungwoo and this time, robot Jungwoo will return her feelings. As for Jungwoo, if only he has the skill like those of Pong's, he'll make a robot of her for himself so that he will have her by his side always.

ENDING.

Pong loves Jungwoo, but she loves her father more. Nothing makes her happier than seeing her father happy. She is a person of her words. Just like what she has promised, she will be marrying the deputy prime minister's son after she graduates.

NICKNAMES.

▸ Bocchan — means 'young master' in Japanese and this is how everyone usually address him.
▸ Naka-sama — at first Pong calls him Nakamoto-sama, but he thinks that the name is too pretentious. He wants Pong to think of him as someone close to her, but Pong refuses to address him by his name, Yuta. So she comes up with the name Naka-sama.
▸ Japan's Most Desirable Airhead — Pong once told Jungwoo about Yuta's interest in learning more about robotics. Though, he failed to grasp even the most basic concepts. Jungwoo called him Airhead, but Pong tried to defend him with saying that amidst his stupidness, he's still Japan's most desirable bachelor. And thus, the nickname was created. When Pong seems to be troubled about things with Yuta, Jungwoo will with saying, "Oh, is it about that airhead that you desire the most?"

OCCUPATION.

LOVE RIVAL'S PERSONALITY.

"That deputy prime minister's son is on the magazine again,"
Even though the nickname as Japan's Most Desirable Airhead is just a make up by Jungwoo and Pong, it's actually persists on real life. Yuta is Japan's most desirable bachelor because of his fancy background and as the son of the deputy prime minister, his handsome face is no stranger to the public's eye. He got his position secured in life, so he doesn't have to try hard in life. He can get his grades manipulated and although his IQ is barely 120, he's actually very clever when it comes to tricking people. His schemes are just perfectly planned and well executed. He is his father's son after all, which rumour has it that he used his money and connections to able to hold such a prestigious title.

Yuta lives for today. His motto is obviously, the infamous carpe diem. So he makes sure that at the end of the day, he gets what he wants. He's loved by his friends because of his approachable personality. He is friends with everyone no matter what background they came from. He hates being lonely the most. Although he gives off the vibe of a womanizer because of his friendliness (and also the fact that most of his inner circle are girls), he is actually loyal to the person he's with. When Yuta consider someone is important to him, he will cherish them wholeheartedly. He grew up watching his father showering endless love to his mother after all.

LOVE STORY.

"Who's that girl?"
Their first meeting was on the private gala held by the prime minister. It was more of social night for the members of the cabinet and their families. Yuta and the other officials' children had established their own group named SADs (inspired by WAGs of the athletes) which stands for Sons and Daughters of Officials. Yuta was one of the co-founder of the club. The club is known for their exclusivity and only the higher rank officials' children can gain a membership.

Pong was talking with her friends when Yuta approached her. "I'm sorry to interrupt. You're the daughter of the state minister of health, Masatoshi Kumagai, right?" he exclaimed.

Pong had no idea who he was but one of her friends whispered that he's actually the prince of tonight's gala, the son of the deputy prime minister. Pong responded to him and they had a conversation about the moonstone that she wears as her earrings. Pong thought it was a friendly small conversation but her friends seemed to have another idea. It was clear for them that Yuta was hitting on Pong.

"Do you want to be SAD?" Yuta asked.
Pong laughed. Yuta sincerelly thought that her laugh was cute and it reminded him of a squirrel. "Why would I want to be sad?"
Yuta then explained that it's a club, an elite one. They handpicked the most suitable person to join the club.
It seemed for her that all the high society people had their own club and enjoy the privilege, but she didn't like that kind of things.
"I'm sorry but I'm not interested," she replied.
Yuta was in awe. Everyone, and that included the friends that she was with would do anything to be a part of the SADs. They're known for having special privilege with the Japan's royalty, and even those of the Dutch empire.
"Well, how about going out with me?" he asked again.
Pong smiled. "I'm sorry, but I'm also not interested,"
Pong wasn't interested, but Yuta was interested in getting to know more of her.

"This is our future,"
Yuta knew of her familty's net worth. Her father's company's worth was similiar to his. But then he noticed that Pong's father company, Kurakura Medical Systems went through a steady decline in the stock market. From the informants, Yuta found out that it was because there are malfunction with some of the radiosurgery machine and it had caused death. That incident caused juridicial issues and damaged Kurakura's brand.

Yuta saw it as an oppurtunity for his family business and also to himself.  His father agreed to help Kurakura Medical Systems under one condition; Pong will be betrothed to Yuta as requested by Yuta himself. As the deputy prime minister, he can get the case to be removed easily and have Kurakura's company name unstained. With the merger of the two companies, Nakamoto Pearls and Kurakura Medical Systems, they'll be the power company of Japan.

The next time that they met was to sign the marriage agreement. Pong looked pretty in a peach summer dress and her hair up. He really thought that they both can be a perfect couple. Though perhaps the situation wasn't ideal at all because the sadness in Pong's face couldn't be hiden.

RELATIONSHIP STATUS.
"She's my fiance," Yuta looked at her and smiled.
Pong felt uncomfortable having his hand around her shoulders. She shifted awkwardly. "Yes, I guess so,"

INTERACTION.

"Can I call you tonight?"
They rarely meet each other face-to-face since they both currenly live in different countries. They  are scheduled to skype only at Saturday, but Yuta will try to facetime her anytime. Most of the time she declines the facetime request and say that she's busy. Yuta although really misses her and could go visit anytime he wants, he still respects her time alone. He visits every 3 months and will stay for a week where he'll pick up Pong everyday after school and go out on a date with her. Pong always choose to go the movies because it's the only way for her not to have a conversation with him. They are not awkward with each other, but Pong tries her best to avoid unnecessary talks.

Yuta knew about Jungwoo and for him, Jungwoo is not less than an ant that bites. Yuta knew that Pong is in love with him, but he also understands it better than everyone that Jungwoo can't have her. He's only the son a low-key diplomat for God's sake. Though, Yuta likes to make him feel inferior. He will ask Pong to bring his friend Jungwoo along and they'd go on lavish adventures where Yuta will show Jungwoo that unlike him, he can have everything he wants because he's the son of the deputy prime minister.

Pong always makes sure that Yuta knows she doesn't love him and she'll do the marriage out of his father's request. At the end of every date, she will go up to him and say, "Thank you, I'm sorry, I only love Jungwoo,"
It doesn't irritate him when she said that. He will pat her head and promise her that one day she will feel the same way about him. They have the future for themselves, after all.

ENDING.

Pong ends up marrying him. Although she knows that deep inside she'll always love Jungwoo, she begins to care for Yuta too. Their love is not that of an hour long romance movie, it takes quite sometime for their story to blossom.

goodbye, at least for now

SCENE SUGGESTIONS.

Pong making a kawaii robot and presents it to the diamond class and the students gets excited because it looks like a cute pet

The scene when Jungwoo cries. Goodbye is really hard to bear, you know, and Jungwoo is not that calm and collected all the time
