TRAINEE BACKGROUND [ ⋆ ] 
Hyemi started her training with YG when she was 18, in 2012. With her determination to prove her parents wrong, she focuses on training day and night and didn't make any close friends, as they see each other as competitors there. She was ecstatic when the management told her they are planning to debut her as a soloist, one year and a few months into her training, and she should start preparing from then on. Hyemi gets even focused working on her singing and rapping; she's quite weak in dancing, but soloist won't be needing too much dancing, don't they? Imagine her dreaming about her debut, standing on stage with songs that she helps to create, fans cheering on her, maybe some variety show invitation, all crushed when they announced to hold her debut as they decided to debut the winner of their survival show first, "WINNER". She continued to train another year in YG but didn't see any sign of her to debut under the label. She started to feel the pressure, insecurities hitting her almost every night, and she started to doubt her decision against her parents. However, she holds onto her dream and the goal to prove her parents wrong.

It was a miracle, to Hyemi, when a Fantasia staff contacted her, offering her to train with them as they are in a rush to make a debut. Hyemi was hesitant at first, as changing from a Big 3 company which will guarantee your fame once debuting, to a smaller and new company didn't seem desirable. Her decision was sealed when she overheard the management talking about debuting a boy group, which now known as "IKON". She realized her debut won't be anytime soon with YG, thus she started her training with Fantasia at the end of 2014. 

She wasn't really happy with the fact that she's going to debut as a group instead of a soloist. In her opinion, debuting as a group means more chances and risk to fail. As a soloist, she'll only have to worry about herself, manage her own behavior and working on things that truly suits her. Debuting as a group means you have more people who might be the cause of problems, your performance will also depend on others, and you won't be working on things your way. She's even frustrated when they told her that she will be the leader. Good news is, she'll have the upper hand in the group, she has bigger say (maybe), she could try controlling the members' behavior so that they won't be a problem to the group. The bad news is, she'll have to lead and manage the group, be the mediator between the company and the members, and teamwork isn't really her style. The training was rushed as well; luckily she had experience with YG and is confident with her talent, ready to debut. But they didn't get the chance to truly get to know the members properly before they are thrown into debut. Hyemi was crushed once again when their debut wasn't anything close to what she had imagined it to be. Their album sales weren't doing well, their MV view was less than targeted, only weak cheers could be heard during their performances in Music shows, and the group was linked to "cringe-worthy" instead of praises. When the disband announcement made, Hyemi wasn't surprised, she knew it was coming, yet she still felt a great disappointment. 

Hyemi stayed with Fantasia as she has nowhere to go. She was too ashamed to go back to her parents, and she still hopes to debut. Which company would accept the member of a flop group? So she continues, watching other trainees debut and gained fame. Why couldn't Cherry Day gain fame like they do? Where did they go wrong? Was it her fault? was what she has in her mind, and she slowly loses her motivation in training. Soon, Younghwan informed the girls of the plan to re-debut them, Hyemi made up her mind to ensure this one will work, no matter how. She learned to be a better leader, encourage better team-work, loving the group as a whole and working on her own talent. Sure, they get better response compared to Cherry Day debut, but it wasn't enough to catch people's attention and get them into the live chart. She has never been this stressed before, looking at the condition of the group and how some of the members have clearly started to lose their hope as well. Her only happiness throughout the ordeal was her idol (she still hope she will have the chance to stand on the same stage as them), comments left by their loyal fanbase (even though most are not for her), and her members.  When Jaehyun informed them about the competition show to them, she can't mask her anger and disappointment, but then determined to not let the group fall into failure once more. She swears to fight and bring her best self to get Nova into the spotlight they deserve.

// Hyemi does not stick to a plan. She prefers to have some flexibility, space for improvisation and unexpected events suddenly jumping out. She doesn't get irritated when a plan is canceled, or when they have to suddenly change their parts for the performance. "Let's just decide on the goal, and get going! There's plenty of ways to reach it and we can think of it on our way!" Open-minded about everything, Hyemi prefers to not judge or stereotype people into a category. Despite the strict respect culture in Korea, Hyemi doesn't mind when those younger than her speak informally to her, or even teasing her, as long as they don't go overboard with it.

// Hyemi could be very impulsive, though, when it came to her daily life, especially shopping. She has tons of items in her room that she bought without thinking, or 'just in case' she would want it later. Ask her to go out for a walk in the middle of the night, and she will most probably say yes without thinking, despite having a lot of things to do. Or take her out for an ice cream and she'll go along, despite being on diet. She works with her mood, and do what she feels like doing. Don't worry about the unfinished work, though. She'd rather lose some sleep and work extra hard than delivering an unsatisfactory result. She took responsibility for her works, and wouldn't settle for the sub-par outcome. She could come across as bossy or naggy because of her nature, feeling like it would be on her when the thing won't work out. As the leader of Nova, she feels responsible for her members and things that happen to them, thus she keeps an eye on their behavior on-camera, and isn't afraid to call them out if she feels like they're not behaving appropriately. When problem or scandal hit them, Hyemi isn't afraid to stand up and claim responsibility, instead of pointing fingers at who making the mistake.

Hyemi is thankful that she could control her emotion well, or else she'd be long gone from the industry. When offended, she doesn't get worked out, but also won't quietly accept the insult. Instead, she'd return calmly with savage comments, letting them interpret it themselves if she's actually joking or not. // Loyal is the one trait that her friends use to describe Hyemi. Others' first impression of her would be that she's a reserved person. That doesn't mean she doesn't talk, no, but she is not the type to talk just for the sake of talking. She's friendly; she could start a conversation with strangers, but she won't make small talks just to keep the conversation going. It takes time for others to get to know her, as she doesn't talk about herself much. She's a listener, not a talker, and she prefers to keep things real. Being sincere is her style, so don't get offended if others are praising you for what you are wearing while she just stays quiet. She doesn't make empty praises or promises nor showing interest and care just for the sake of looking caring. She prefers to have a sincere relationship with everyone, on and off the camera, with fellow idols and fans, so staged relationship is also off the list.Even with the Nova members, there are some that she wasn't really close with, and wouldn't have much interaction even on camera. Once she starts to consider someone as a friend, she'd care for their feelings and need. She'll try to be there for her friends when they need her and would drop anything she's doing to attend to them. "When it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter. When it matters, it matters big" She is lowkey a Tsundere, though. Hyemi prefers to not show her care for people around her. She'd ask about your problem, buying your favorite items, helping you with work, but acting nonchalant about it, as if she didn't just run all the way to you when you call or dropping her work just to console you."Hey, bought some cola, cake, chicken, fruits in the kitchen on my way back. Oh, and give maknae some choco it's her time of the month"  Don't get too personal when she fails to wish you birthday right on the midnight, or when she suddenly blurt out something totally out of topic when you were talking. She would have made an alarm to wish your birthday but forget to when she's doing other things, or something behind you just get her attention away for the moment. She just gets distracted in a heartbeat. Hyemi could be unforgiving as well, especially to those who refuse to admit they are in the wrong. When someone made a mistake, it's wise for them to just admit it and apologize for it. That way, they'll just get away with her scolding (or nag) for the moment and back to normal afterward.She hates it when people made mistake, and still try to make excuses or accuse others of it. She wasn't the type to forgive and forget when the other party clearly doesn't want to admit their mistake. But as a leader, she'd try to have a talk with them, giving them her piece of mind to make them see their mistake.

//Hyemi is confident, that's right. She has pride in her work and leadership. But she has her own insecurities that get to her once in a while. The feeling of not being enough. Has she been a good daughter to her parents? Is her personality good enough to be likable? She's a good decision maker, but is that enough to make her a leader? Was Cherry Day's failure because of her lack of ability in leading the group?  Why isn't she as popular as the other members? Has she done enough for the group, in terms of holding the group together, being a good member; and as an artist herself, contributing to the performances and gaining fans for the group? These thoughts sometimes come to her and hit her hard, she just wants to cry her heart out. She cares about what others said and thinks about her that she often scrutinize her actions. In the outside, she'd be seen as unaffected when receiving criticism, or even confidently throwing back savage comments, but when she got her own time, she'll think about it for a long time. When her insecurity hits, usually in the late night, she'd take a walk in the nearby park to clear her mind and be her own friend to chase away those toxic thoughts (In case you're wondering, yes, she talks to herself).    

BACKGROUND [ ⋆ ] 
Hyemi came from a rather well off family. Her father is the Director of a large hospital in Changwon, and her mother is a freelance Senior Editor for a lifestyle magazine. As the oldest of the two sisters, her parents has high expectation for Hyemi. During her childhood, she was taught to be responsible and dependable, to be a good example for her sister and be the perfect daughter. Her mother signed her up for study groups, class reps, and urge her to join the school rep when she reaches junior high school. She's not popular nor unknown in her school. She's just..there. The vice president of the school rep, the doctor's daughter, the valedictorian. But that's all she will ever be known as. People don't really know her name, some do, but most don't. They don't really try to befriend her, maybe so when they need her help with school stuff. She doesn't really have close friends, her days are busy enough with meetings and studying, and family time on weekends that she doesn't have much time to spend with friends. When she has free time, she doesn't even know who to go out with, so she finds her happiness through idols, movies, penpals and virtual friends. 

Her sister, Dasom, is quite the opposite of Hyemi, thus they never really get along well. Dasom is carefree, talkative, fashionable and social, she's always out with her friends whenever school is over. Hyemi often questions why their parents don't urge Dasom to study hard and join study group as Hyemi has to do, and rather let her stay out and play. Her parents often get called by the school because of Dasom's scores, and they seem to be fine with it while Hyemi would get scolded if she were to get the 2nd rank in her class. Dasom could get away with being slow when getting ready, not helping the house chores, or break the house rules, while her mother would nag Hyemi if she fails to do so. When she asked why they treat them differently, "Because, that's how she is. We can't force her." is what she got from her parents. When she proudly shows her perfect score for the last exam, her mother would demand more. She would also nag Hyemi to learn to do makeup like Dasom does, instead of going around 'like a messy bum', to stop looking at idols and at least try to make some guy friends, like how Dasom is popular among guys,or to start dieting to be as skinny as Dasom (not that she was overweight to begin with). It's always Dasom this and Dasom that, when they had their girls time it'll always be Dasom telling stories about her school life, boyfriend, even her boyfriend friends. Hyemi often wonder, is it wrong to feel such a resentment towards her sister? 
The sisters do have their own moments, maybe watching some TV shows (usually Dasom's pick), talking about their days and gossiping. Hyemi would listen to Dasom's problem and help her, doing homework, but kind of tuning out when she started to gossips about who's dating who, how the guys try to ask her out, or what dress to wear for her next outings. The family is not without love, though. Her parents do show her love, they had their fun and bonding time; only that sometimes, or maybe often, she's overshadowed by her sister. Maybe her parents prefer a daughter like her sister. Maybe she is truly not doing enough for them. She could only wonder. 

The family moved to Seoul when Hyemi was about to enter senior high school, because of her father being transferred to Seoul branch. With the new environment, hopefully, something would change. And something did change. Hyemi got herself a group of friends who accept her for who she is and she cherishes them a lot, knowing this kind of friends don't come easily. She decided to be less involved in school activities, and more time to explore her hobby. She's still part of student rep, but with lesser responsibilities (her mom couldn't stop nagging her to join one since before they move to Seoul). She joined the theater club which her friend drag her in. There, she found her spot. She never thought that her voice, which said to be just okay by her family, was being praised and said to be unique. She found passion in singing and even helping the club to write the songs. Encouraged by her friends, she tried to audition in several companies and around her final year exam, was accepted into YG. Finally, she has something she did well, she thought. Something that is better than Dasom, the chance to be the one shining; fame and fortune.  But when Hyemi announced to her family that she wanted to pursue singing, her parents flipped. They have set her to enter Medical school, and then doing Master for Heart Diseases, they totally against her dream, telling her that the entertainment industry is harsh, and she would never survive there. The years of feeling unfairness exploded, she stands her ground. Her parents supported Dasom when she told them she will pursue Fashion Design in the future, so why can't Hyemi? She stubbornly signed up with YG and move out to their dorm once she graduated high school.

He is against her choice to be an idol because he believes entertainment industry is a dark place, and to him, Hyemi is always his little daughter who look at things face-value.

Dasom is against Hyemi choice as well, as she is not into idols herself and thinks that being an idol is a childish dream.

Hyemi hasn't been keeping in contact with her family since her training days. They made no effort in contacting her, and her pride won't let her reach out first either. She still hasn't forgotten how their parents were strongly against her dream and deep down, she still holds anger towards them. The only time Dasom contacted her was when Cherry Days announce their disbandment, only to urge Hyemi to give up her childish act and get her life straight, which Hyemi ignored.

Sure, at times she just wants to run away from them, sometimes they are the cause of her headache, but some of them manage to break into her walls and even understand her better than her own family. They are her family now. She often joins them in fooling around or pranking other members, listening to their thoughts, and support them.  She is still trying to be a good leader the group needs and work to get to know the members she's not close with. She could be very awkward with them, though, that others might see it as cringy

He and Hyemi were somewhat functioning as the 'messenger' between the management and members, with Jaehyun more of the management side and Hyemi of the members' side. They often argue because of the difference in opinion, especially when the management want one thing and the members want another, and they argue on how to make both parties into an agreement.
With Jaehyun awkward personality, Hyemi, along with the other member often to get a reaction out of him, especially about his gaming and otaku hobby. Hyemi makes sure their teasing doesn't go over the line or became disrespectful to him though. To her, he's like the older brother she never had; someone who took care of them, and someone to talk to. She loves how Jaehyun could see things from a perspective she would never think of, and make her see things differently.

That practically sums up Yoongi personality. He knows what he likes, and do what he wants. When he dislikes something he won't do it and know the way to get out of it. He also seems to be very aloof even with s, occasionally joining in their antics but mostly just throwing shades and remarks on them, the rest of the time looking like he regret his life choice to join BTS. Gruff, tough, and grumpy is what others usually describe him. He's very honest and blunt, the combination that no sensitive people could stand. He doesn't censor his language at all and just says out loud what's on his mind. 
In reality, he is someone who is caring and loves harmony, he just doesn't express his feelings well. He loves deep talks, not useless small talks that don't carry any weight. He needs to know what inspires you, what tick you, what get you going and what you dream to be. Despite being seen as aloof, he cares deeply to those around him and empathetic. You could catch a glimpse of his cute and soft side when he feels like doing it, or his somewhat cheesy jokes and tease when he feels like it. As said, he really does what he wants.

RELATIONSHIP [ ⋆ ] 
Hyemi and Yoongi feel really comfortable in each other company, that they don't care about image anymore. They would arrange to meet somewhere when they have time, send messages and video call when they don't. Those around them often mistake the two as dating, with their skinship, long video calls as yoongi work with his music and Hyemi give out her opinions vice versa, accompanied with snarky comments throughout the call, and maybe stay quiet when they don't have anything to say. The two has similar personality in a way that they could understand each other, and become the perfect partner-in-crime. They are merciless with their sarcasm and snarky remarks with each other because at the end of the day, they just do it for fun and none of the two took it personally. It's just their way of communicating. When they start to argue, others would back off because of how stubborn the two are in holding their stand, but it would usually be ended up with one of them gave up because of the loss of words.
Yoongi often joke about his popularity as a BTS member and told her to be grateful that this famous Hallyu star has spare his precious time to talk to her, which in return she calls him "Your Majesty Hallyu Star"
Yoongi is quite protective of Hyemi as well when it came to people hurting her or simple thing as a showy stage outfit. He would complain that the wardrobe staff should be lenient to the guys, and should have spared their eyes from seeing her in those "ugly" outfit.

HISTORY [ ⋆ ] 
Hyemi met Yoongi when they did a collab for Yoongi's mixtape, "So Far Away". He was looking for a unique voice yet a new fresh voice within the industry. That's when he noticed Hyemi when looking through possible artists and contacted her company. Hyemi was ecstatic to get an invitation to feature in a song. It was 2016 when they just re-debut as Nova, and she was looking for gigs and opportunities. She has no idea though, what kind of person this Min Yoongi is. Hell, she won't even recognize his face if she hasn't been looking him up the past 3 days before the meeting, only knows that he is one of the BTS members ("ah, the one who sang I Need U?") and is talented in rapping and composing. 
When they met to discuss her part, Hyemi was taken aback at how cold and straightforward he was. He didn't make any small talk like any other people do and just dive into the point, nodding and giving a short answer when her manager tried to make a small talk but gave a detailed information on how he wants her to do, what his song is about and what he expects. At one point, Hyemi question his lyric and made a suggestion to slightly change the wording, forgetting that he is her senior and is far more experienced than she is. Fortunately for Hyemi, Yoongi like her suggestion. Since then, they often keep in contact to discuss music in general, which slowly blooms into friendship. Maybe it was because they are discussing their passion, but the two strangely let down their guards easily with each other.   
Even the members are shocked to see their aloof member open up so easily to somebody else, and how fast their friendship grows over time. The members could clearly see that Yoongi has developed a soft spot for the said girl, seeing how the lazy member choose to visit Hyemi if they finished their schedule early instead of going straight to bed as he usually does, or when he does video call with Hyemi while composing, when he actually hates interruption inside his "genius lab".
Yoongi himself started to realize that he did develop affection for Hyemi, especially when he saw how determined she is in reaching her goal, how similar they are and how responsible she is. He knows that he should not act upon his feelings as BTS popularity is soaring high. One small mistake like a dating scandal could drive their fans crazy and the group might tumble down because of him. He also knows that this stupid girl is as clueless as a wall of his feelings. Heck, even walls could see how he has been treating her, but this idiot couldn't. He often finds it funny, how attraction works. He's the Hallyu star that represents Korea in Hollywood and topped Billboard chart, he could get any girl he wants, and yet he has developed a feeling for this idiot of a leader from a rookie group. Shouldn't it be the other way around? And the fact that this ridiculously tactless leader stubbornly liking a guy who is in a relationship frustrates him even more.

Hakyeon is confident, that's for sure, especially when it comes to his self-praise, which often make people want to just ignore his comments altogether. He mostly does it for fun, though, to break the ice or to lift up the atmosphere. He is actually a humble person, always showing gratitude to those who support him, calling himself a man lacking many qualities, and always work hard to return the love he received. He makes sure to be friendly to everyone he sees and could talk to everyone about anything for hours if they don't stop him. He's both Malleable and controlling. He could change adapt to what the situation demands. If he has to sit back, he will stay in the back and let the others take the spotlight. When it calls for him to lead the situation, he would confidently take over the wheel. Even to his friends, he could be soft and let others bully him, yet a demanding, calm and forgiving leader when he needs to. He likes to be in control of things, has a high standard for himself, and want the best for others that he often comes off like a nagging mother, fussing over things and encourage others to be more upfront.

Hakyeon and Hyemi often said to look like a married couple by their friends (Which Hyemi secretly enjoys), and how they complement each other. They are both confident and controlled, but Hakyeon is talkative while Hyemi is more reserved. He is humble while Hyemi is prideful, and would be promoting on his behalf.Hyemi personality would resemble one of fire, while Hakyeon would like a river stream.
Hakyeon is the king of skinship, their skinship is so natural and casual. They would put their arms around each other, let them sleep on their laps, casually wipe their faces, or just simply hug. They know that the other would have their back no matter what, always there to lend their shoulder and talk about their deeper thoughts and secret they couldn't even tell their family. Their texts never stop, they left voice messages for each other, and send random pics that they came across that remind them of the other. Hyemi would be one of the first person he shows his choreography to, and she always finds the urge to learn dancing whenever she sees him dance. They like to do video call as well when their schedule is too packed, and Hyemi just couldn't stop smiling whenever they finally got the chance to see each other. 
Hakyeon looks out for Hyemi, reminding her not to skip any meal, to take care of herself and would randomly show up at her place with foods and her favorite snacks. He often nags Hyemi of how random things, like how reserved she is around the others or small things like how she should be wearing warmer clothes.He could be quite possessive of Hyemi as well when she visits and is too busy to talk to the other guys. "Hey! That's my bestfriend you are talking to, not your. Give her back to me." "Yah, don't be looking so happy to talk to them, you don't know what guys could be thinking. Don't trust any guys, okay?". Hakyeon might be saying it jokingly, but to Hyemi, those words successfully make her heart skips a beat, or two.
Both being the leader of their group, Hyemi often confides in Hakyeon and ask for his guidance, as she loves how he could give her a totally new way to see things. He would gladly give her his perspective, not to forget with some self-praise and teasing. He too would confide in her when he feels stuffy about or work. 
To Hyemi, he has been always there for her when she needs a friend, during her lowest point, and offering care and support that she has been looking for. They are each others' biggest fan. Hyemi would come to his concert, musical performances and tune in his variety show whenever she could, and Hakyeon would do the same for her.
But now that Hakyeon has Eunyoung, Hyemi feels lost. They couldn't meet up too often because he would have to spend it with his girlfriend, and it wouldn't be nice for the two of them to be caught by the media when Hakyeon has a girlfriend. They still keep their daily texts and often do video calls when he isn't with his girlfriend, but Hyemi miss him alot.

Hyemi was introduced to Hakyeon by her high school friend that know him in late 2011 when Hyemi made the decision to train with YG. Hakyeon was just a trainee back then, and her friend thought it would be better if she has someone she knows within the same industry. Thankfully Hakyeon is a bright and friendly person, and he has already called her 'a friend' since their first meeting. They keep in contact even after that,with mostly Hakyeon telling her stories about his trainee experience, and even the reality show, MyDol, that he was later in.
The friendship blooms slowly but surely, until they have been staying to share each others' highest and lowest point. From Hakyeon's struggle in MyDol, VIXX debut; VIXX's first win, the day Hyemi resign from YG and enter Fantasia, VIXX comebacks, Cherry Days' debut, all the way to now, the re-debut of Nova and the competition show. They might not celebrate good events on the day itself when they are really busy, they would find a day to celebrate it. However when one of them need a shoulder to lean on, they'll make sure they are there. Hakyeon introduced Hyemi to his Changwon friends after he met Eunji of a drama set and get together with Hoya. Despite that, the two still meets whenever they have time if the others couldn't make it. It was pure friendship they started with, but at some point of time, Hyemi herself isn't sure when it started,she found herself has fallen hard for him. All his small touches and actions which were supposed to be normal to them make her heart restless, not only once he managed to make her into a stuttering mess. Somewhere along the way, he looks more and more alluring to her she caught herself staring at him. Somewhere along the way, his small caring action cause her to overthink it for days on end.Somewhere along the way, she got used to his parfume that others doesn't smell as nice. And somehow, he's no longer her best friend, but also her crush.
Hyemi herself are not really sure of her feelings, was it infatuation or was it interest? It couldn't be love...right? They don't have the time and freedom to do love, she thought, with both of them being a leader, huge responsibility is upon them. They don't have the time to do romance, and to be truly honest, she's scared of what Hakyeon reaction would be.She's scared of ruining the strong friendship the two had, she choose to be satisfied with their current relationship. But when the scandal of Hakyeon and Eunyoung dating came out in the end of 2017, she felt as if the manager told her that they have to disband again.

Best friend, but later turned into more as Hakyeon broke up with Eunyoung a few months to a year of their relationship. Their relationship stays the same, but both of them started to be sure about their feelings. They don't make it official to the media.
