seunghwan is a lot of things. he has strong opinions and will fight tirelessly for an idea that he believes in with clever and wit. when he comes to believe that something is important, he will pursue that goal with conviction and energy. he will rock the boat if he has to, something not everyone likes to see, but his passion for his goals cause in an inseparable part of his personality. that passion is what drives him to do his best. he can be very meticulous about how he goes about it, but that's just how is is.
seunghwan is a romantic by heart. each time he goes out into public, he expects this will be the day that he'll meet his soulmate. at least, a part of him does. he knows it crazy to think that way, but the excitement gets him going.

BACKGROUND: seunghwan was born to normal couple in busan, south korea. he wasn't planned, but the couple welcomed him to the family anyway. his family wasn't rich, but they weren't poor either. it was normal family and he was raised like normal. but as he grew up, everyone around seunghwan noticed the boy was the light of their neighborhood. he brightened everyone's moods with just a goofy smile on his face. he did his best in school, making sure to make his family proud of him. he even applied for foreign exchanges to america for further studying multiple times. he defintely made his parents (and little sister) proud when he graduated those few months early. he even made plans to apply to music colleges to pursue his piano career like his parents wanted.
though what his parent's didn't know was that whenever he was studying or practicing the piano, he was listening to music. not just any type of music, kpop. listening to kpop became his happy place where he didn't have to study or do anything. he could be himself.
when he graduated, he was quick to audition. he knew his piano lessons came in handy as his piano teacher was also a singing instructor who thought singing helped with playing the piano. his parents had no idea about his singing talent until he was accepted into bighit entertainment.
despite being angry for their son's secrecy and going behind their backs, they were happy with whatever made seunghwan happy.
tl;dr he started the foreign exchange program in middle school which carried on into his high school years. his little sister was born when he was 6 years old, making her 15 years old. his parents do not know about seunghwan's orientation, but they have a suspicion of it. yoonji is the only family member who knows of his orientation. seunghwan graduated in 2012, making him 16/17 when he auditioned for bighit entertaiment.
