the look
face claim Dreamcatcher's Gahyeon
backup face claim Loona's Haseul

appearance.
- There's nothing that's really different from the faceclaim. Moonhwan has a faint scar above her right eyebrown from when she bumped her bead on the table as a kid learning to walk, and she has a small star-shaped birthmark on her back. She's 165 cm and 65 kg.

style
- Moonhwan's style is pretty simple. She prefers to wear shirts and jeans, but she also adores cute dresses. She's a typical cutesy girl who likes pink and purple and pastels and cupcakes and cute things like that. She doesn't feel comfortable in y outfits and tries not to wear anything too tight-fitting.

the woman
traits. optimistic, thoughtful, hard-working, loyal; sensitive, impulsive, stubborn, naive

personality.
Maybe it’s because she came from a poor background, but Moonhwan is always cheerful and optimistic. She believes in the best of the situation, and she can easily cheer other people up. Part of this also stems from her thoughtful nature; she tries to make everyone happy by quietly observing their habits, picking up on the small things like their usual coffee order. She's quite observant and can read the atmosphere well, knowing when to say something encouraging to her friends or to just leave them alone. Moonhwan is also hard-working; her mother once told her, “If you’re going to do something, might as well do it right”, and she now lives by that statement, working as hard as she can to debut. Sometimes she can pull all-nighters if she thinks she's lacking in a certain area, like staying up all night to perfect one dance move. Moonhwan easily makes friends, and she cares a lot about them. She’s an extremely loyal person who won’t betray her friends or leak secrets, which has led to many people confiding in her. Honestly, Moonhwan would probably be the type of person to help you hide a dead body without asking a single word.

Moonhwan tends to be a very sensitive person, and if anyone mentions anything about her past or her family conditions, she’ll immediately turn angry and walk away (she'll probably ignore you for the rest of the day). She's also a bit sensitive about her weight and body figure because she feels like she should be thinner, so if anyone makes any comment on her body, she'll beat herself up for not being skinnier. Moonhwan also has a trusting nature; she's much too trusting and naive, and she thinks that everyone she meets is a good person who has her best interests in mind. This has led to some people taking advantage of her, but thankfully, her real friends have always been there to chase those fake friends away. Another thing about Moonhwan is that she's too impulsive. She's a huge impulse shopper (mostly because she grew up poor and couldn't have a lot of stuff as a kid) and will often buy a lot of stuff for herself, her friends and members, and her family. She's also a pretty stubborn person, holding onto her beliefs even if they're wrong until absolutely proven (think flat-earthers, but less extreme lol). Tbh you probably couldn't have a fight with Moonhwan because you'd get so frustrated with her lmao.

background.
Moonhwan was born in Suwon. She has an older brother, Moonsoo, and her parents run a grocery store. It's not easy selling food for a living, so Moonhwan grew up on the poorer spectrum of wealth. Despite this, she was happy, and her parents always made sure that she realized that being poor wasn't shameful. Moonhwan was a pretty normal kid, and she thought she would grow up to inherit her parents' store (which, admittedly, she didn't want to do, but she didn't think it would be too bad). When she was 12, her brother was 17, and he dropped out of school to become a trainee at TOP Media. Their parents were mad at him for just dropping school like that, but they realized that he had his own dreams to follow and supported him thoroughly. After he left, Moonhwan started to consider entertainment as a career. True, she liked singing, but she'd never taken lessons and wasn't great at it, but hey, if her brother could do it, so could she!

When she was 15, Moonhwan made it into Pledis Entertainment, and the company arranged for her to transfer to a school in Seoul. There, she met someone who would become her best friend: Lee Heeyeon. Moonhwan was a year younger than Heeyeon, but they became great friends, and when Moonhwan found out that Heeyeon wanted to become an idol, she helped her find companies to audition for. Although Heeyeon didn't make it into Pledis, Moonhwan was happy that she ended up at Dublekick. Despite seeming close, they're actually pretty awkward, and they didn't speak much after Heeyeon became busy with training too.

Moonhwan trained hard and eventually landed herself a spot in the group that was to be Pristin. When her teaser picture was revealed, however, the fans didn't like her at all. Apparently, they thought that Moonhwan was too plain to be in such a spectacular group like Pristin. The other members outshone her in pretty much everything, from singing to dancing to rapping, and Moonhwan was just average. The company, afraid that Pristin would fail because of this fan rebellion, cut Moonhwan from the group. Afterwards, because she'd already graduated high school, Moonhwan tried to focus on her university studies, but she realized that she just really wanted to be an idol, and so she kept auditioning for companies until, a few months later, she made it into Ginger Tea Media.

the connections
relations.
Son Moonsoo - trainee at TOP Media - Moonhwan's brother. While Moonhwan has a masculine name, Moonsoo has a somewhat feminine name lol. They're pretty close despite the , and Moonsoo has always been there to protect his sister. They call each other often but don't always have time to meet up.

Lee Heeyeon - best friend - They met at school but didn't talk much because of busy training. It was an awkward sort of acquaintanceship until Moonhwan came to Ginger Tea Media and they met again. They quickly realized that they had a lot in common and became best friends.

Kang Yebin (Rena) - friend - They trained in Pledis together and are same-age friends. Even though Moonhwan was cut, she doesn't really resent the Pristin members as much as the fans, so she and Rena keep in contact.

trainee history.
Moonhwan wasn't an outstanding trainee at Pledis. She could sing, but she couldn't dance or rap. She worked hard and improved quickly, and although she still couldn't compete with some of the other members, she had at least caught up. She made friends with the other trainees, especially Yebin, and they encouraged each other through the training until they were to debut. However, it seemed that the fans didn't want Moonhwan in the group, and the company cut her from the final lineup of Pristin.

Moonhwan cried for days. What was wrong with her? Was she not good enough? She didn't have anywhere to go (she couldn't stay with her brother either, since he was also a trainee), so she ended up going to university to focus on her studies. However, she realized during her time with Pledis that she didn't want to do anything else than be an idol, so she auditioned for several different entertainment companies. Out of the ones she auditioned for, only Ginger Tea Media accepted her, and she went.

She worked harder than ever under them because, well, she didn't want a repeat of what had happened in Pledis. By chance, she re-met a friend in high school, Heeyeon, and they became close. After talking for a bit, they discovered that they had more in common than they thought, and they bot related with each other's failed debut stories. They resolved to debut in the same group together, helping each other improve. They did improve a lot, and even though Moonhwan was still just able to sing and dance, she thought she was a lot better than she was in Pledis, which made her already happy enough.

Then, out of the blue, she began to hear news on Pristin. Apparently, the fans - the same ones who kicked her out of the group - were harping on the youngest member, Kyla, for being too fat. Even though Moonhwan wasn't very close to Kyla, they trained together and were friends, and besides, Kyla's the youngest member. She didn't deserve to be hated on like this, especially because of her weight. Moonhwan is a bit sensitive about her weight, and she just hates how people are so quick to judge weights and hate of people because of that, especially since Kyla isn't overweight at all! The more she thought about it (she even went through Yebin to encourage Kyla not to give up), the madder she got. These fans, these so-called supporters of Pristin, got her kicked out of the group for not being good enough, and now they're trying to ruin the maknae, the baby? Kyla has done nothing wrong, and honestly, back then, Moonhwan didn't either, so the more she thinks, the madder she gets. What are these fans? Suddenly, Moonhwan no longer thought that it was her fault for getting cut from Pristin; she knew it was the fans' fault. She resolved to be even better than before, and while she harbors no resentment for Pristin, she just wants to outshine them so that she can show their fans how great she can be, make them regret shoving her away.

ideal type someone like my brother, who will take care of me even when they're mad
her real type Shinhwa's Shin Hyesung (but no one knows)

the vengeance
have you had any pre-debut experiences?
- Actually, I almost debuted, so I had teaser pictures and everything... but other than that, if you're talking abou CFs, no, I haven't.

have you had any scandals before joining Ginger Tea Media
- Well... like I said, I almost debuted, but the company pulled me because the fans really... um, disliked me.

do you regret your training time with your former company
- No, not at all. I learned valuable lessons from Pledis, and they've helped me improve my singing and dancing a lot.

who do you solely blame for your failure to debut earlier
- The fans of Pristin, my would-be group.

are you excited to finally debut
- Of course! I've wanted this since forever, and I need to show the world that I can amount to something after all.

the end
comments I worked on this with marshybleep :DD
scene suggestions
- Pls let her meet Shin Hyesung just once XD
- Actually, meeting Shinhwa would be great too :"))
- Moonhwan x Heeyeon bonding times
- Is it weird if I really want a scene where she disses the Pristin fans?
