IN DEPTH
PERSONALITY —
a little leaf, floating in a storm — jihee's a bit flippant with most things. he gets to know a little about things, but they don't stick long. he's changed career prospects from being a lawyer to a test subject for NASA (don't really ask why), but nothing. which did came quite ironically, since zhi (志) was given so he could be driven by purpose. he just wanted to live, have life, and not care about the next day. his peers are stressed out about a lot of things, but he put up only if things had been so urgent. he's naturally drawn to many aspects, but he just didn't know which one to really put his energy worth to. he's second-guesses himself a lot and has misgivings about what is the best decision to take. being as young as him, he tends to rather let go and let loose, trying things that worked the best for him. once he'd found out what makes the best of him, he'd follow it.

the one who lets them see — jihee doesn't close his eyes so he could block things out, but he just puts his focus on things that is of the present, causing him to be very painfully aware of many things. it made him a bright person, who knows that he is able to absorb academic knowledge and picked up skills easily. he knows that olivia hye's red eyes meant she could have been sad, he knows the dark sky meant it may rain soon, he knows that one trainee avoiding the others meant he may be leaving. these things can come to him conciously or not, but those that came to him as unknown things came as 'gut feeling'. he enjoyed many of these things, and let it go back to him. unfortunately, this meant he's fully aware of the good and bad side of things, which naturally, makes things bad. he may be impassive, but ask him about music or physics, he'll talk a lot.

knowledge 20/10, execution -100/10 — being naturally drawn to things meant that he knew them to a thorough detail without any hurdles, but he had a very doubting nature that knew consequences that would come to his choices. so, to deal with it, he just let loose himself. he knows his informations, but is known for the impulsive nature. he doesn't want to be responsible for things, and hates being pushed to such parts.

feel it now — he's very in touch with the physical world, and yet he's out of it with himself mentally. compassion almost doesn't exist in him, so he tends to ridicule the idea of optimism. he thinks being jaded is being wise, but truthfully, his pesimissm was an immediate reaction for his failure to reach for himself, something that he denied truthfully. he's the bright kid in school, but never made his effort to search for himself something that felt worth it. he made himself to feel like he's a realist, but he's really just never realize, he actually lost himself.

basically, jihee's young and he really needs to know himself.

TL;DR —
(+) observant, intellegent, adaptive, curious
(–) irresponsible, immature, pesimisstic, impulsive
(...) a rather different take on the average stoner

BIOGRAPHY —
honestly, zhihui doesn't remember who his dad is, except that he's korean. his mom, tsai yuna, is a taiwanese expat who'd lived there for a long time, and then had raised him without other parent figure. jihee's rebellious and a little crazy—he was the tiny prankster that the teachers often reprimand him for making so much trouble—except for one teacher. zhihui might have been lazy, troublesome, and again, so much trouble, but he had an amazing voice. he's also very talented in physics, but the pranks really hides it. that one teacher, his music teacher, no changsoo, introduced him to rock songs. not only that, he was the one that pushed the younger to use his apathy to sing confidently in public. at this, zhihui's mother was so surprised, she actually invited him for dinner for her gratefulness.
zhihui himself got around with some music students, and they agreed to make a rock band, with him as their lead singer when he was 15. they performed mostly underground, but after the graduation of their eldest members, the band broke up when he was 17. most of their members had careers of their own to pursue, but jihee was confused. he didn't want to go to university (he didn't want the financial burden), but he wasn't liking other jobs. so for one year until his own graduation, he stopped singing. changsoo's very concerned, and so is yuna, but he insisted he got it figured out (he didn't). zhihui worked with his mom in their restaurant after he graduated, or helping changsoo.
but one day, just at the age of 18, changsoo quit his job, and worked at an entertainment agency. it was new, and (zhihui heard) super rich. changsoo became a vocal coach, and zhihui sometimes visited to annoy him (and to bring his mom's food to him, something zhihui would not get until three months later). he saw the cute girls and a few boys who had went there, but didn't think too much of it. he knew loona, and thought it was cute, but that was it.
almost one year later, he arrived earlier, before changsoo had come. he saw the recording room, and started playing around with it. he was spotted by jaeeun before he could run away, much to changsoo's embarassment.
after zhihui and changsoo apologized, the ceo asked if he's interested in being part of their training program. zhihui thought of it. he definitely didn't have anything else to do, but changsoo's against it, complaining on how zhihui didn't have the determination to do so. after a long-winded argument (and lecture from the older), zhihui agreed, and become blockberry's trainee.

— skinships. he'll personally hit someone if they dared invade his personal space.

TRIVIA —
— jinsoul knows he really likes her. the loona members know. nox knows. jaeeun knows. changsoo knows. everyone in the company knows.
— he gets into so much trouble for 'accidental' pranks against the bullies that made fun of his taiwanese side. he got off only a few times.

— he didn't know what happened to his biological dad. his mom always changed the topic about him, although he got around from his relatives that he was an unexpected pregnancy from a short-lived relationship.

RELATIONSHIPS
SOON-TO-BE-FATHER — no changsoo, 38, vocal coach, plucky, snarky, socially awkward, observant, ambitious
— "How did you even get my mom"
zhihui never admits it, but he loves changsoo. the older has been very helpful in determining his current life. he's the one who actually fought for him, understanding and always kind even when others gave up. deep down, zhihui was happy that someone cared for him, even when he felt lonely. changsoo is now in a relationship with his mom for over two years, and has been talking about the prospects of their relationship.

MOTHER — tsai yuna, 36, restaurant owner, tough, determined, overbearing, caring
— "Mom, why him"
yuna loved her son very dearly, even if they occasionally got into playful banters. yuna's tough, from being a single mother with no job to a moderately succesful chicken restaurant owner. zhihui looked up to her greatly, desiring her greatest asset; to dream. zhihui is her dream and her grief; she didn't gave him his name for nothing. is probably her worst nightmare; he'll end up the way his father was. so changsoo was definitely someone she's very grateful for.

FRENEMIES — moon hawon, 20, ΠОΧ member, observant, intellectual, bitter, aloof
— "the world doesn't have to be like your dreams"
hawon and jihee are quite alike, personality-wise, being both of them are quite their own people and are quite cold. but jihee actually likes too many, while hawon likes little. jihee sees right through him, and much as he hated it, sees himself in hawon. truthfully, they liked to talk about the 'intellegent stuff (jihee)' and hard rock songs. which jihee knows, and pains him a lot.
the talent
TRAINING PERIOD — one year
TRAINEE LIFE —
jihee's efforts is only obvious if he sings. even then, with a voice that's been geared to a rockier sound, he does had his own problems reaching any extreme highs or lows, not that it had been important. but he doesn't have any problems doing so publicly, so it was alright. changsoo wasn't the only vocal coach though, so it was unfortunate if he got chewed out.
dancing was okay. he was curious, and did wanted to learn more of it, and so quickly adapted to the rhythm well. still prefers singing, though.

the INTEREST
FULL NAME — Jung Jinsol
BACKUP — n/a
BIRTHDAY & AGE — June 13 1997 & 21

PERSONALITY — She looked cold, unapproachable, and yet is very determined with what she does on the outside. she's going to debut, and she's going to make it. on the inside, she's a dork, is charming, and does what she wants. feisty with many people. values freedom greatly.
TL;DR — the spicy curry bread with chocolate inside of it.
RELATIONSHIP — jinsol knows him as the lazy, occasionally annoying trainee who only likes singing (and doesn't really do much else to the group). he's handsome, but does not make her like him. zhihui thinks she's super cute when she's not angry at him 24/7, and unconciously fawns over her. they occasionally exchanged witty banters with each other, and had been suspected to actually fight. their 'drama' was known to practically everyone but zhihui himself, who thought that jinsol mostly just joke around.

ANYTHING ELSE — jinsol knows he likes her, and she likes him too, bit by his charms, but she knew that her career and his was much more important than their dumb love, so she holds her feelings.
THE noCTiverse

STAGE NAME — Dal (moon in korean)

COLOUR — mauve
#b784a7
ANIMAL — munchkin cat ("WHY" zhihui screamed)
NAME OF DEBUT SONG —
Take Me Now (FTISLAND)

THE MUSIC VIDEO —
Closes up on a tiny game spinner with three parts. It spins from the word "M", and suddenly stops at the word, "A". There's a "?" at the third side. Instead of focusing on "A", it focuses on "?".

) It changes to Dal's eyes, the left half of his face was covered with a white curtain. He had blue contact lenses, and took it off. He looks through, and suddenly averted his gaze to the left. Music plays.
) Dal starts singing in the middle of the table, in an empty room. He wore white long sleeved shirt (with spots of red), long white pants, and is barefeeted. There were minor scratches on his feet, hands, and arms.

) He sat down in a single chair, the sole object. Curtains had been ripped, blowing gently. All parts of the room were covered with white sheet. As it closes up on him, he was chained to the chair with cuffs. His feet were bound to the legs of the chair, and his eyes were hidden with a black fabric. The floor had large blocks of "CURIOUS" there, written in red. He hesitated for a while, trying to avoid stepping on it, but gets jolted all of a sudden, and becomes limp.
) Focuses back on the needle reverse-turning to "M". Dal's clothing still looked the same, but he had a black jacket covering him. His eyes didn't have the blue color. He was walking down a night market, a setting that had a remarkable Chinese culture. He was walking, and stared at his left palm, which was carrying two rings. They were both tied with a pink ribbon, one that was now cut with a sharp object. On his right hand, he held a mauve ribbon, and hid it back on his jacket. He looked much more heartbroken.
) As the song has reached the second verse, he walked again, this time finding the spinner next to a black munchkin cat with blue eyes. It was raining. Viewers saw that now it has nine needles, eight which stayed in a place, but one kept on spinning fast. He almost touched it, but was hesitant. He tried to chase the cat again, face scared, but the cat stopped, and turn back. The eight needles break into pieces, and the spinning needle stopped at "?"

) Focus changes. He went on a long corridor, all covered with white sheets and curtain at its windows. As the songs goes into the chorus, he runs, hallway full of nothing but sheets. It focuses on his eyes, which now had blue contacts. His black jacket has mysteriously disappeared.
) However, if he had turned around, sideways, he'd have noticed the curtains went red at the back of him.
) He reached a room, seemingly prepared. He opens the door, to find nothing but the spinner again, rotating next to a mirror. When he saw himself in the mirror, he saw the black cat. The song abruptly stops. Cuts to the black jacket left in the rain with the broken needles.
) The scene opens back again, silent, as he stood in the middle of the empty room, stepped on the "CURIOUS". The spinner board and the needle was broken. He looked peaceful, and held nine new needles at his right hand, walking towards the screen. He covered his hand, and the video ends.

SYMBOLISM —
The "A" represents Aether, to "M" as Mundus. "?" meant an unknown at Noctiverse, and is suspected to be The Veil, as Dal did ended up going to a weird-looking room. He'd been getting from Mundus to Aether, but get to the underworld instead, many suspected, mostly due to malfunction.
(Which brings in the question: How did he even get there when its not supposed to be?)
— There, Dal lets go of his blue contacts, blue eyes meant holding deep knowledge. The fact that he lets go of contacts meant he lets go of knowledge that hasn't been part of him, as a sign to show the real him. Brown eyes represent independence, painting him as his own man.
— Curtains that hid part of his face meant he hadn't let go of who he was fully. Something is stiffling him. When he averted his eyes, he was showing the viewers as a caution for something, but people started suspecting he may actually want to show something.
— He was bind by something. He was caught, and most likely injured. The scratches resembled that from a small animal, rather than from attempts to get out. His barefeet indicate that he was actually free, but is now bind. He hesitated to 'step' on the word, pointing to his willingness to learn, even if it will cost his life (limpness).
— Fans recognized the place easily as Incheon Chinatown, so alluding to his chinese (taiwanese) heritage. His loneliness meant there was a rejection he had in that part of the culture (being that he didn't know any relatives he had from his mom's side).
— The rings most likely represented marriage. People suspected the pink ribbon was of a child, and the fact that it was cut meant the child didn't make it. As mauve ribbon represented him, it meant that he could've tie the rings, but he hesitated.
— The eight spinner had stopped somewhere, and many suspected that they represented the other eight members (as the end tip of the needle resemble the cutouts of their animals). The spinner that continued to spin was his, uncertain on where to land.
— Black cats have been known to bring bad luck. Rain appears in dramatic scenes to represent a bad time. The fact that he just impulsively picks it up, chasing the cat meant he wants to 'chase' the reason for his misery. But the eight needles breaking meant their 'bad luck' had come true.
— He ran down the long corridor, full of uncertainty. Fans suspected he actually didn't look like he freaked out, but determined. Meaning he knows of something, especially now that he had the blue eyes. But in the process, he lost the jacket (where he'd kept the rings), losing part of himself.
— When he approached the room, he'd seemed to actually know what the room really held, certain with the knowledge. But the spinner rotates, meaning that he was, still uncertain, after all things.
— "Curiosity killed the cat" In this case, he was both the cat and the cat's killer. His reflection on the mirror proves that. He really wanted to know what gave him (and nox) their circumstances, so he wanted the answer. When he had the blue eyes, he took the identity of the cat. He had the knowledge, but not an answer. But he was taken to The Veil, where the cat had most likely belonged.
— The red room was about something that had been chasing them both, but it's really unknown.
— "Satisfaction brings it back" When he'd stomp on his curiosity, he'd accepted his fate. The things that had tied him went off. He accepted that the world has once, is now, and would always be uncertain. The broken spinner represented the old him, and now he is no longer who it is. The nine keys was all about he and s, eager for a new world still uncertain, but he's ready to face them.
— He covered the screen to hide what he's about to do, something that is full of surprises.
