height : 163 cm × weight:  45kg. there's nothing that differs from her faceclaim. juyeon has her natural dark brown hair cut short, with bangs that lightly fall over her forehead. she's not allowed to wear makeup, but her grandparents continually enforce the idea that she must always look her best. juyeon's hair is brushed every morning, not a hair out of place, and she has an extensive skin care routine.

fashnstle.

"why didn't you change after school?" "... i did."
the clothing juyeon wears outside of school doesn't differ much from what her school uniform looks like. button downs tucked into pleated skirts, knee socks, and mary-janes are her go-to, with the occasional cardigan in chilly weather. she must look professional all the time, according to her grandparents.

prsoNlity.

what a darling intelligent, clever, compassionate, cultured
she's not that great cynical, blunt, gloomy, envious
i'm not sure really self-abnegating, reserved

— "she watches the bustling city from the comfort of her window-"
megatron might not be too far off when it comes to describing jung juyeon. many of her characteristics are very robot-esque, her smarts being a major factor. given that she is clever and intelligent, she has the power to be both logical and quick-witted. for example, if a problem were to arise, her clever side would come up with the quickest solution, whereas her intelligence would come up with a more logical, yet slower solution. she would then take both of these ideas and determine the one that would work out the best overall.

— "... she sees the moon, and the stars. she knows she should be studying..."
juyeon does seem rather robotic, but within her is a very deep compassion. she keeps her compassionate side under lock & key, believing it as nothing but a flaw in her system, making her weak and distracted from getting good grades. however one day, she would see a homeless dog wandering the streets and think about it late at night. a few tears may fall down her face, thinking of the pup being cold and alone, with no one to give it love and happiness, but then she'd quickly scold herself for being distracted and get right back to studying. juyeon grew up with a good education, was taught proper manners, and even took part in the refined art of ballet, all of which contributed to her growing into a cultured young lady. the way she speaks can only be described as logical with a taste of sophistication. she remembers the times in her etiquette classes when she was struck for slouching, mumbling, etc, which is why currently you'd never see her do that. she is always sitting straight, talking with a clear and even voice.

— "as she daydreams about a life with happiness, with friends... she pauses to remember that people are selfish individuals-"
years of false satisfaction has shaped juyeon into quite a cynical individual, in the sense that she believes the worst of others. if anyone tried to be kind to juyeon, she only sees it as the person doing it for selfish reasons, as such events have happened to her before. students continuously trying to befriend her only to use her for doing homework, getting test answers, etc. of course, after years of this juyeon believes that no one is truly nice at heart and everyone only has selfish motives. never is juyeon one to sugarcoat or be evasive with her words. you want the truth? she will give it to you forthright. blunt is the only way she can be, it's just illogical to her and a waste of time to be anything but.

— "... however, she secretly yearns to experience friendship..."
you could say spending days and nights studying for someone's else satisfaction and not your own would turn someone despondent, and you would be right in juyeon's case. the girl is rather gloomy 24/7 since she studies basically 24/7. those rare moments when juyeon is simply eating, zoned out, or trying to sleep and her eyes are off of a text book she may feel nothing more than content, but other than that, she's mostly feeling down in the dumps. her envious side is another flaw in her system, according to her, and one that she hates the most. she knows in the back of her head, that no know matter how many excellent marks she gets on exams, that she's never truly happy or satisfied, and when she sees friends huddled close together laughing without a care in the world, she feels such a deep yearning. she's extremely envious of other kids that seem to be so happy even if their grades are slipping or just downright terrible. juyeon would never, ever, admit this to anyone, mostly because she can barely even admit it to herself.

— "... she dismisses this thought. her eyes find her book again."
the only questions juyeon could never answer are a long the lines of "what do you do for fun?" "what is your favorite movie? tv show?" "what are your interests?" she set aside her own interests for years to study that she doesn't even remember what she liked to do before. this makes her self-abnegating when it comes to studying. in public places, most notably school, juyeon is very reserved, her only focus being studying and learning and not socializing.

chapter one: the calm before the storm.
jung juyeon had a rather interesting childhood, having two starving artists as parents. yes, one stormy july night, artist park joori gave birth to little juyeon. her father, artist jung daeshin, decided on the name juyeon. being a starving artist essentially means that most of the money you make strictly goes to your paintings. however, hyori and jungshin of course set money aside to care for the household, it was mostly just enough for the bare essentials. despite not having the newest technology or the fanciest clothing, juyeon did indeed have a happy childhood. her parents chose not to spoil her with items but they did spoil her with love. she continued to live like this through her school life, up until middle school. her life was going pretty great at this point; juyeon's parents kept having their art being sold at shows, which meant they were financially stable. juyeon's grades were all passing, she had some friends and was a very happy girl. the beginning of juyeon’s last year in middle school is when things went down hill.

chapter two: the hurricane.
new rivals moved into her parent's territory. these artists were esteemed all around seoul, around korea even. this caused a significant decrease in her parent's painting sales. by the middle of her last year in middle school, juyeon's family was dirt broke. her parents were desperate and worried about juyeon. they decided to send her to live with her grandparents on joori's side. you see, joori's parents were very well-off. joori herself didn't agree with that lifestyle, nor did her parents approve of her choices in career, which is why she left to do art. her grandparents didn't live too far away, obviously in the richer part of seoul, but she could still continue to go to the same middle school. juyeon was furious about this; she had only met her grandparents a few times before, and she was very young those times. going to live with them made her so nervous. but her parents needed to take on odd jobs to get some money coming, and they knew they couldn't be there for her like her grandparents could. so, unwillingly, juyeon had moved in a few months before summer. her grandparents were very, very strict. they forbid her to see her friends and they made her study, study, study as soon she got home from school. summer came, and they still made her study material that she would learn in high school. additionally, to merge her into the high-class lifestyle, they signed her up for both etiquette classes and ballet, and she didn't enjoy either. juyeon slowly felt like she was losing herself.

chapter three: the aftermath.
over that summer her friends didn't hear from juyeon once; they knew of her situation and didn’t know what to do. 1st year of high school rolled around, and juyeon had entered it completely changed. over the summer her grandparents completely grilled her on the importance of good grades. she was lectured almost every night, and she studied every day. thankfully they let her leave her etiquette class and ballet lessons, so she could solely focus on studying. eventually her friends started to drift away, not being able to handle this new juyeon and although it hurt, she assumed it was for the best, as she needed to focus on studying after all. and this is how her life continued- she began to excel in school but with every high grade, juyeon only felt low. she’s now in her third year, and her grandparents have successfully molded her into the perfect granddaughter they wanted.

fun facts.

— like previously stated, juyeon had been only studying for so long that  she doesn't even remember what her previous hobbies were. but after her wish and some healing, she'll discover that she really enjoys photography, specifically photographing landscapes. jungkook would be the one that convinces her to try it.

— juyeon may be slightly addicted to soda. she drinks it frequently during the day but mostly at night, when's doing homework and studying. the sugar helps keep her awake and alert, although lately she's slowly starting to get immune to it since she drinks it so much. she's considering switching to coffee.

— juyeon is in charge of her own breakfast and lunch everyday, and for dinner she eats whatever the house cook makes. but the thing is, she literally makes the same thing everyday. for breakfast it's always oatmeal with a banana. and for lunch, she'll pack bulgogi lettuce wraps with a side of kimchi, rice, and a few pieces of kimbap (with a soda to drink, of course). it's just so routine for her at this point she doesn't even consider changing anything.

— juyeon still keeps in contact with her parents occasionally, although not as often as they all would like. her grandparents limit contact with them, believing it's nothing but a distraction and a "bad influence."

— if her wish succeeds, photography would becomes her number one hobby (and possible eventual career path) but she also eventually takes some interest in painting and tennis.

— if she starts to heal and remember her old self, she would remember and even gain some likes and dislikes, such as:

× likes : pizza, dogs, late-night soap operas, stargazing, art & art history, sleeping in.
×
dislikes : studying (this takes awhile for her to admit ofc), pleated skirts, strict people, unreasonably high prices, suffocating surroundings, insects.

lifestyle
"always the same routine everyday, even the food is the same."
juyeon’s grades are of course, always on point. typically she wakes up at 6 am (years ago juyeon would never get up this early. goes to show how much she's changed) and she'll study for a good hour or so. around 7 she'll make her breakfast and eat rather slowly, relishing in the fact that she's not studying. when 7:30 rolls around she'll go and get changed into her uniform and come back down to the kitchen to make & pack her lunch. this usually takes her around a half an hour. after everything is said and done, it's usually 8 o' clock. typically the bus closest to her grandparent's house leaves at 8:10 (she managed to convince her grandparents to take the bus, absolutely hating the idea of being carted around by a chauffeur) this gives juyeon ten minutes to herself. she'll go sit on the bench by the bus top and open a book, but her eyes would wander elsewhere, observing and taking in the sights. this is her favorite part of the day. after school, it's study and homework until dinner at 6:30. after dinner and a shower, it's back to the books until midnight, in which she will then go to sleep.

rElAtnshp.

grandparents : lee haeri & park hoejung × 73 & 75 × heirs of a successful steel company × refined, arrogant individuals, intelligent, calculating, professional.

— in a way, juyeon knows her grandparents are the way they are because that’s how their parents where. the steel company they own was passed down in their family, and with it came the cold personalities, apparently. that still doesn’t stop juyeon from resenting her grandparents. she wonders how someone as wonderful as her mother could even come from the same family. juyeon tends to avoid her grandparents as long as she can, save for important events or functions that juyeon has to attend, forcing smiles as she declares lies that she loves her grandparents. outside of these events her grandparents don’t mind avoiding her either. besides the occasional check in to see how her schooling is going, the elders tend to stay in their own lane. it angers juyeon even more, thinking about how they changed every fiber of her being and they’re not even around to see it.

parents : park joori & jung daeshin × 40 & 42 × starving artists × warm, creative, loving, hardworking, a bit selfish.

— at this current state, juyeon doesn’t talk to her parents as much as she’d like. it’s mostly a phone call every few weeks. during those calls, her parents try and reassure her that they’re doing well, working some jobs and trying to get their lives back on track. but juyeon can hear the tiredness in their voice, and she tries to forget it or else it’ll break her composure and make her cry. juyeon’s parents also notice how monotone their daughter has become, noting how robotic her replies have been and they can’t help but wonder what life is like for their daughter. juyeon doesn’t share much about her life, not wanting to make them feel bad. though sometimes juyeon wants them to feel bad. she can’t help but wonder if her parents back in the day would focus on normal jobs, and do art on the side, how much different their lives would be. it leaves a bad taste in , thinking about how they gave up stability when they decided to focus on art solely. but in the end, she still loves them and misses them.

crush : jeon jungkook × 17 × thrid year high school student × loud, humorous, witty, caring, impulsive, adventurous, childish, hot-tempered.

juyeon doesn’t allow herself to indulge in many distractions but one thing she has a hard time controlling is her eyes naturally staring at jeon jungkook. he’s an attractive teenage boy with a warm smile, good grades, and many friends. in juyeon’s eyes, he is absolutely perfect. it’s just not fair to her that he can have good grades and still maintain a normal life. how does he do it? despite the slight envy, juyeon notices how her heart speeds up when she watches him laugh, admiring the way he jokes around with his peers so effortlessly, mesmerized by how kind he is to people. even to her- they don’t talk, but juyeon receives a warm smile from him if their eyes meet. that certainly wasn’t anything she was used to from the peers at her school. sometimes she’ll day dream about what it would be like to be his friend, maybe even a bit more than that. it’s something she softly wishes for in the back of her mind every time she gets lost in his smiles.

"I WISH i could be a normal teenager."

juyeon wishing it so passionately in her head was pretty impulsive. at the same time though, it’s secretly something that wishes constantly, just in the back of her mind before she forces herself to stop thinking like that. it’s something she always secretly desired, especially watching the other students at school. her mind instantly though of jungkook’s face as she wished it, so secretly she desires to be one of the normal teenagers that gets to be a part of his world.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF WISHES?

— juyeon thinks wishes are stupid and useless but it doesn't stop her from wishing for things silently. she'd never admit it, she might not even realize it herself, but it's the hope that comes from these silent wishes that keep her going.

comments. hello! so i finally finished it hehe. i think i went a bit overboard with the amount of detail, i apologize for that. i put a lot of detail her grandparents and parents even though i'm not sure how important they'd be with juyeon's wish, but just in case i wanted you to have something to fall back on. and i was thinking of bts' jungkook when i created juyeon's crush but if you'd rather me change it to an oc, i don't mind! i just needed inspiration for a boy and instantly thought of him. so yeah, i hope you like juyeon and i wish the best for this story!
wishlist.

— teenage self-discovery, jungkook guiding her as he shows her what it's like to be young and foolish, innocent blossoming teen romance,  maybe juyeon realizing jungkook isn't as perfect as she thinks he is (which is okay), juyeon finally cracking a genuine smile.
