Personality 
the good: due to her upbringing, yeeun is a very hard-working individual. her father was very strict on her growing up, and made sure she knew that nothing in life was ever free. yeeun has always strived to be the best in what ever she does and won't settle for less. she has also grown into quite the wise individual, always offering her advice when she thinks others need it, even if they don't want to hear it. because of this people usually trust yeeun with their darkest secrets as they know she has words of wisdom for whatever life throws out. of course, she is highly considerate of others and their feelings, usually being the one in the group who sets back and quietly observes others and is the first to tell if someone is upset or acting out of the ordinary. this isn't to say she isn't talkative though. she always makes sure to add her own witty and humorous comment to whatever the topic is in hopes at least one person would laugh. yeeun is also very open minded due to her family situation. she doesn't judge others for their pasts as she doesn't want people to judge her for hers.

the eh: yeeun is extremely competitive by nature. as she was raised to always be the best in what she does; she gets easily irritated if she sees another group member slacking or goofing off on stage. she doesn't quit even if she's exhausted, and others would say yeeun is a very tough girl both physically and mentally who doesn't easily show fear. need a heavy box moved? yeeun's your girl. scared of a spider? yeeun's got it for you. even if something hurts, which is rare considering she has quite a high pain tolerance, she will very rarely show it.
although yeeun may have gotten excellent grades in school, she's still a bit of an air-head. she tend to speak before thinking and will ask questions about the most simplest things. Yeeun can also be quite the flirt. She doesn't mean to honestly, it just comes naturally, especially when she's on stage. It's all in good fun really. Her flirty nature can be used as an advantage as well as a disadvantage. An advantage because she has great stage presence, but a disadvantage because it can sometimes get her in trouble especially with netizens.

the ugly: yeeun can be quite the narcissist, probably once again due to her upbringing. this also goes along with her wanting to be the best at everything; as she quite literally thinks she is the best. if she's weak in one area she'll ignore it and pretend like it's nonexistent instead of trying to improve. due to this attitude she tends to quit easily if she knows something is too hard for her instead of trying to work through the problem and is very short-tempered. she can also be quite blunt, telling people what they need to hear instead of what they want to hear. this isn't necessarily bad thing, but due to her wording it may come off as rude to those who don't know her very well. yeeun was brought up in a strict household where she had very little freedom. due to this you might say she has became mischievous and daring. wanna pull a prank but don't know how to go about it? yeeun has all the best ideals. Wanna go rock climbing? Take Yeeun. Sky diving? Yeeun's down. Shot contest? Best believe she's there. Ouija board or ghost hunting? Count her in. She lives for adventures, even if it's not always the smartest thing to do. At least it makes for an interesting story later, right? most people wouldn't say this is a negative trait but yeeun's antics usually end up getting her in quite a bit of trouble. she just finally has a bit of freedom and wants to be the spontanious person her mother was.
 

Background ahn yeeun comes from quite the wealthy, yet broken, background. her father was the director of the kyungnam high school in busan, where as her mother had left her father early on in yeeun's childhood due to her own personal decisions and life goals. from a young age, yeeun was taught to uphold her public appearance due to the nature of her fathers job and live up to his expectations of her. she was told her grades were her number one priority and the only way to get ahead in life was to get into a good college. because of this, yeeun became a slightly narcissistic person who was taught to think highly of her self, but was still never one to put others down as she has her own skeletons that even her closest friends don't know.
she had quite the sheltered childhood, with the only time she felt freedom was when she went to visit her mother in seoul. her mother had dreamed to be a dancer; with her dreams being crushed when she learned she was pregnant with yeeun. she was unmarried at the time, and with yeeun's fathers upbringing the two were forced to get married. she then became a stay at home mother who had untreated post-partum depression from her life rapidly changing so quickly. this isn't to say she resented having yeeun as she loved her very much, she just resented the situation. the pressure of her situation eventually got to her and she ended up leaving her husband and yeeun and moved to seoul to pursue her dream. yeeun's mothers mental state had never been good, and she had never been a stable person after moving back to seoul. she lived with relatives while going from job to job, but in all honestly yeeun had a closer relationship with her mother than her father as he was always busy with his own job and was strict with her upbringing. 
while her mothers dream of becoming a dancer never came true, yeeun inherited a love for sports and dance from her mother. she joined a few sport clubs at school and while she was at her mothers she went to dance classes in seoul. yeeun eventually wanted to become a professional dancer after seeing idol groups like snsd and kara on television. of course, her father wasn't very supportive of yeeun wanting to pursue dance as a career instead of a hobby as that's what took his wife away from him and didn't want yeeun ending up as a "failure" like her mother. of course, the daring and adventurous yeeun didn't take no for an answer. when she was sixteen yeeun went behind her fathers back and auditioned for jyp entertainment. her father was upset with her decision, but he did eventually decide to let her move to seoul to train under jyp, under the one condition that she kept her grades up while being there. 
of course yeeun had always been a decent student due to her upbringing. she wasn't the top but she was just above average, her grades only slightly faltering after becoming a trainee. she ended up graduating from hanlim multi art school in seoul. yeeun originally thought she was going to debut in twice but after not even being included in the line-up for the survival show sixteen, yeeun decided to eventually not renew her training contract with jyp as her father wanted her to focus on college. yeeun enrolled at kyunghee university in 2015 to major in business administration. it was also around this time that yeeun decided to take another shot at becoming an idol after learning that a newer entertainment company was accepting auditions. yeeun ended up auditioning for moon entertainment in late 2015 and was accepting later debuting as a member of rose in 2017.

— is really good at sports especially softball as she played since childhood and for a year in high school. she eventually had to quit due to scheduling conflicts between trainee life and studying, but she still likes to play if she gets the chance.

— father / ahn jangeun / 54 / director of kyungnam high school / as her father was a very strict and business oriented man, his relationship with his daughter isn't the best. although he only wants what's best for yeeun, he goes about it in all the wrong ways. he doesn't approve of her debuting in rose or as an idol in general as he doesn't want to see her fail and end up jobless and thinks she should quit and become a full time college student. he places a lot of stress upon yeeun due to him always pressuring her to give up on her dreams and that stress is usually met with her doing a lot of reckless things. although yeeun can't find it in her to resent her father for this as he is the one who took care of her growing up, she just wants him to realize she's finally doing something to make herself happy.

Trainee years four years under jyp (2011- early 2015), one and a half years under moon entertainment (late 2015-2017) : five and a half years total

Trainee life yeeun trained for four years under jyp entertainment before she moved to moon entertainment. while under jyp yeeun wasn't the most like trainee due to her blunt personality and competitiveness, but she wasn't the most hated either. she had a relatively normal training period where she lived in the dorms jyp provided and when she wasn't training she was at school. between trying to do her best in school and doing her best as a trainee she didn't have much time to many many friendships, although this is where she first met her best friend park jimin. after hearing jyp planned to debut a new girl group in late 2015, yeeun thought that her time had finally came and started slacking a bit with her training. she spent more time hanging out with her already debuted friends but when she wasn't even put in the line up for the survival show 'sixteen', yeeun decided to not renew her trainee contract and return to college as her father wished.
although, when she saw posters around her campus for auditions for a newer company called 'moon entertainment', she took this as her second chance. yeeun ended up becoming a trainee at moon entertainment in late 2015 where she wouldn't settle for second best. she spent the majority of her time training and her hard work finally paid off as she was set to debut as a member of thorn. yeeun ended up taking a leave from her university to focus on her debut.

Scandals

—  thorn's nova spotted hanging out with jae of day6 / august 2017 / jae invited yeeun to hang out with a few of his friends and one happened to be coco lee of cocosori who is also known for her youtube vlogs. yeeun was briefly featured in a few scenes but for most of the video she was cut out. it was a big deal as people knew she kept in touch with a few jyp artists and knew jae and her had been friends for years, however people started to question why she was only seen in the video around jae and purposely cut out of the rest of the video and wasn't introduced in the beginning of the vlog. yeeun's never commented on it, but she asked to be cut out as much as possible as she wanted to keep her friendship with jae as lowkey as possible to avoid future scandals between them.
