appearance. yubin is probably one of the more average-looking members when it comes to height. He stands at 177 cm and weighs 66 kg. He has quite the normal body, having normal proportions, even being a bit chubby, but in a healthy way. he has a layer of fluffy fat on his stomach that just never leaves him no matter how much he tries to get rid of it by working out and dieting. While it does make him insecure, groupmates and close friends absolutely adore his fluffy tummy and it is often rubbed and used as pillow. he currently has short, black hair that exposes his eyebrows. he has this naturally sad looking puppy face and even when he smiles, people see a hint of sadness in him because that's just how he looks and how his face turned out to be, looking eternally sad while he's completely fine. He has a very lovely and cute smile, but all his expressions are cute in general and he often makes people want to take care of him. He currently has braces, so he talks with a slight lisp and his smile exposes all his teeth and braces as well, which fans absolutely love. He rocks the braces.

style. oh no do not get me started on this guy's style. He absolutely does not put any effort in his clothing and it's either the staff or groupmates that have to style him. yubin has a strange addiction to sweatpants and would wear them at any occasion except for something that actually requires a suit. he's also color blind, so color coordinating is really not his thing. Well, not like it would be if he wasn't color blind. He does have a type of color blindness that makes distinguishing colors really hard to do for him. He can barely distinguish colors like blue and green, or orange and red. He sees everything in pinkish and blueish shades of color, which is one of the rarest color blindness conditions. This is why he tends to wear a lot of blue and red, just because those are the real colors he can see.

Caring and cheerful: yubin is generally a very nice and sweet boy who wouldn't hurt a fly. He loves to see people smile and it is even better when he is the reason because they are smiling. he's usually all smiles himself, a lovely little ray of sunshine with his bright gummy smile. He beams, he shines, he lifts up the mood. he's not only caring for humans, he cares for every living thing, but he stays realistic. Some people wonder why he's not vegan if he's so caring, but he knows that it's the cycle of life and that people are meant to be omnivores and need animal meat. he wouldn't save an insect from a spider web either because that's also the food chain and circle of life, but that doesn't mean he's not caring towards animals. Yes, he does feels bad, but he moves on. a realistic sweetheart, a ray of sunshine.

creative and neat: yubin has always been a creative boy who absolutely loves to draw, write and play his guitar and clarinet. He has a very creative mind and is full of ideas that other people would never come up with. he never colors his drawings though, because he obviously can't distinguish many of the colors. He prefers to shade them in black and white. he is also a very neat person and always cleans up after himself and others as well. yubin sees cleaning as a way to destress and he feels at best when living in a clean dorm.

emotional and reserved: Yubin is a very sensitive softie and shows his emotions way too easily. He often cries at the stupidest things and then he'll get mad at himself for being so childish and crying over it. if he sings a beautiful ballad that moves him, chances are high that he'll cry as well, but he'll keep going no matter how much emotions he feels. Because he's so emotional and easily distressed, yubin tries to be reserved. he is ashamed of his strong emotions so while he approaches people easily, he'll try to hide his emotions and this is why not many people actually know him well, he's a mystery to lots of people around him because he got to know them, but without noticing, he never told anything about himself.

childish and moody: yubin needs to be babied and taken care of, even though he doesn't want it and often refuses it, he really needs someone to look after him because he isn't capable of making big decisions himself yet, because he's often very immature. He reacts heavily to things only younger people react to and handles conflics like a child. He's also really moody, and along with him being very emotional as well, people need to seriously watch their words cause one word wrong can trigger him harshly and made him mad at them for days. His emotions are unpredictable and only really close friends and people with very strong mother and father instincts can read him. (thank god we have lene and shigeru for that.)

timid and cowardly: many things that I have mentioned before have made yubin to become very timid and cowardly. he might hide it all with a smile, approaching everyone while beaming, but this poor baby can't get a rest. he's very timid and doesn't open up easily, while he gives out compliments constantly, he completely closes and hides in his shell when he recieves one. He seriously doesn't know how to deal with praise and compliments and he'll become a mess and run away, or even get angry because he doesn't believe so. His self confidence is really low, and people have been trying to bring it up for years already, but no effect... he's also really jumpy so any sudden noise will make him terrified, he is scared of everything and nothing, except for animals, literally any animals, which is really strange. luckily for the groupmates he's the silent type when scared, he never screams, because yubin has that automatic reflex of being as silent as possible when he feels threatened. But he will definitely be screaming inside.

Little yubin was born as the only child of a very normal family, having a very normal life, really plain, yes, nothing to say here. the only thing that was different about yubin to other children of his age was always his creative mind. instead of playing soccer or play on the playground, he would sit on the side to draw, go to music class and learn how to play instruments quite early. the boy was seen as a weirdo by other boys because he didn't want to play with them, but the girls of his class were completely fine with him around, so yubin mainly had female friends, and it stayed that way most of the time. the boy loved to sing, play with the family cat and draw, if he did go outside, he would go take a walk in the park to feed the ducks or other animals. yubin might've had weird hobbies for a young boy, but that was just yubin. he got his genes from his mother, who's also a very creative lady, she teached him the basics of clarinet and good singing technique before he was old enough to attend music academy. yubin was always a mother's little boy and never got that close to his dad, he was always a bit reluctant to get close to him. he just had that strange feeling about his father that made him uncomfortable. and when his mother caught his father cheating, his feelings showed him he was right. his mother immediately divorced his father and she got full custody over yubin. they stayed together, deciding to make a new start, a new job, a new city, just the two of them. yubin and his mother moved to seoul when he was 11 years old. at first the poor little boy was on his own, but after a few weeks, he had made some new friends, luckily.

his mother always openly expressed her dream of little yubin becoming an idol. he personally wanted to become professional musician instead, but he simply couldn't say no to his mom. So on a hot summer day when he was 12, yubin decided to surprise her and join dsp media's open audition. he got accepted into the company and was probably the youngest trainee they had at that time. it was 2007, and he was starting junior high school. He was immediately the little baby of the company who always surprised everyone with his special voice color, it was husky and beautiful. even though yubin was very shy at first, he became a favourite among other trainees quickly. Especially the upcoming girl group who ended up debuting two years later, rainbow. these seven ladies straight up claimed the little boy to themselves, helping out with his nonexistent dancing and just teaching the little boy about the big world that was about to come for him. when dsp announced their first boy group in a long time in 2012, most of the trainees expected yubin to be a part of the line-up, he was the strongest vocalist of them all, but he was still only 17. yubin ended up not getting chosen, but even though he cried a lot, he kept going. not so long after, a very interesting boy joined, who was the same age as him, and also an aspiring vocal. And with this the 'male trainees that deserve better' squad was born. song yubin and jo junghee, who were the same age and getting along really well, plus the duo that had appeared in rainbow's sunshine music video, kim taehyung and matthew kim. two 92 liners and two 95 liners. they would've made a good boy group, but dsp had no plans for that after a-jax' failure. in 2016, after members leaving, a-jax was in need of a new vocal, giving yubin new hope, but the one who ended up getting chosen was junghee, because he fit the group better with his lighter vocal tone. Yubin started to hate his own voice, because even though everyone complimented him on his tone, it was actually in the way of him fullfilling his mom's dreams. when kard got put together and his whole squad debuted without him, yubin decided to leave dsp, after 10 long, long years of waiting. but he didn't want to give up yet, and told himself to go for the first company he saw when just walking around randomly on the streets of seoul. he always had a back-up song ready to perform when he had to show himself. the first company that he walked past happened to be milky way, and he asked if he could audition. on the same day as he packed his bags in dsp, he had unpacked in milky way entertainment. he actually cried of joy, and allegra cried as well, because his singing was so beautiful and mesmerising.

It was like an invisible rope had been connecting them for years and has been pulling them towards each other all the time. they immediately bonded when they saw each other and in just a few days they had grown into best friends. they laugh together, cry together and are always by each other's side, even though they can't always be for real. If they wouldn't be idols with their own schedule, they would be together 24/7. celestial originally thought the two were a pair of boyfriends, but they are extremely in denial. (for now)

— other half of the squad :: bm & j.seph :: 26 :: members of kard :: varies but both are very dorky, uncle-like dudes :: the two besties yubin and junghee formed a squad together with matthew and taehyung. the 'male trainees that deserve better' squad, obviously not dubbed by themselves, but by the fans who knew about them and by their friends. bm and j.seph absolutely love yubin and a lot, especially about his love life. they greatly care about him though, and even though they are some silly uncles, they are also some of yubin's greatest friends.

There was a group of ladies in particular that really loved to baby him and had adopted little yubin in no time. this group was rainbow. Jaekyung, woori, hyunyoung, jisook, noeul, seungah and yoonhye. they absolutely adore yubin and have teached him a lot, while also making sure baby yubin feels at home. now that they have sadly disbanded, their schedules are more free, and they are simply running down milky way's door to make sure that their little baby boy is doing okay.

— yubin's foster babies :: sprout and cherry :: just a few weeks old :: taking everything of yubin's attention and time :: sprout is a calm and snuggly kitten while cherry is really active and playful :: somewhere around debut time, yubin will discover these two little sisters when he hears them cry in a dumpster very close to the company building. He saves them and is in a great panick because he wants to foster the two but has never fostered kittens before. he'll take the kittens to any schedule, be hooked to fostering videos and stop variety show recordings and such to feed his little babies, he might even feed them on screen when the recording can't be stopped. people who foster kittens usually put them up for adoption at 8 weeks, but yubin wants to keep these two forever, when they are old enough, miss sprout and miss cherry will join the knights, but now they are still a bit too young, don't you think? The kittens have been giving yubin lots of stress and sleepless nights lately and he has become even more sensitive than usual and will panic easily, he just wants the kittens to be safe and feel at home, but luckily these two don't have any health issues. when he'll discover and rescue the little missies, they will be so tiny that they fit in the palm of his hand and still have their eyes closed. When they open their eyes, yubin will probably freak out and have the happiest day of his life. he has to wake up every 2 hours to nurse the little babies, making him exhausted as well, but it's all worth it. he will probably cry every time something good happens with the kittens, or more like every single time they do something cute or meow. Yubin is usually the immature one that needs babying, but little missies sprout and cherry are bringing out his fatherly (no, make that motherly) instincts and they will make him more mature over time. he is very proud of his kittens and of himself and he even created an ig account only for sprout and cherry. common scenes include cuddling, crying over the two, freaking out over the two, showing the two to other people and probably the cutest of them all: yubin falling asleep randomly because he's so tired and sprout and cherry curling up together on his chest to nap as well. In the first weeks, no one will be allowed to touch the kittens except for yubin, except when he really asks them to take his place to take care of them, mostly asking yoi, shigeru or lene. he's just so afraid that someone might harm them. #tinybutmighty (but seriously can you imagine donghun fostering two tiny kittens and start to cry because they are too cute?? why am I crying rn this is just too adorable asdfglsgd)

yubin started out very early at the age of 12, having no dance skills at all, but his vocals were amazing. he was the company's little baby who got babied by every other trainee, but always ended up getting the shortest end of the stick solely because of his voice, missing three debut chances. he got lots of help and comfort from other dsp trainees and artists and pretty much knows all of them and tries to keep in touch with them but of course he has his favourites. he worked very hard and even though it was emotionally really hard for him at times, yubin didn't want to stop at all. after 10 years of waiting and giving his all, poor yubin decided to leave dsp with a broken heart that he has to leave the place of his youth behind, but he had to grab his chance now he still had the time. he wanted to join the first company he saw, and that was milky way. his audition astonished everyone, jaws dropped at his vocals and he got accepted the same day as he left dsp. in milky way he didn't have his 7 moms of rainbow and bestie junghee to drag him along so yubin was much more lonelier while training in milky way, but so much more recognised. his dancing became quite great over the years and his vocals were just so out of this world that he was immediately put amongst the top trainees of the company who definitely had to debut.

how does it feel to finally debut? i think i've had one of the longest trainee times of any idol ever... I've lost my chance to debut 3 times in a row because my voice tone didn't fit... to be honest, i was losing hope, until milky way entertainment showed me that my voice was a blessing, and not a curse... well- I still don't think it's a blessing though- I don't like it... /at this, he mutters, being unintentionally adorable, yoi's dying in the back/

how does it feel debuting in a co-ed group? do you get along with the opposite members? i am very curious about how it will be, but i bet it will be very fine because i'm very close to kard, especially matt-hyung and taetae-hyung, they tell me that being in a co-ed group is a lot of fun. i don't know all of the female members well yet, but they are all very nice people.

what inspired you to be an idol, and do you have anyone you look up to? i had a creative mind ever since my childhood, and I got it all from my mother. I mainly started training because of my mother as well, she's my inspiration. but I do look up a lot to rainbow as well, they are amazing ladies! i absolutely love them.

are there any special moments during your trainee days that you would like to share with us? special moments? i've trained for 11 years, i have too many special moments... when I first joined though, i was only 12 years old, and rainbow didn't even debut yet, but they still claimed me as their own and practically raised me in dsp entertainment. another special moment was when junghee joined dsp, he's my best friend... and when i auditioned for milky way and just see everyone's jaw drop the first time they hear my singing... in dsp i never got a debut chance due to my tone, so that admiration really did give me a boost.

what is your role in the group? i call myself the fashion hole, but other members mostly call me the cat... I love cats, don't get me wrong, but they rub my tummy and pet my hair too much, I don't like it! /he whines, being unconciously cute again, jaeyoung is almost vomiting while yoi is dead yet again, someone stop this boy/

what would you like to achieve in the future with the group? i want to beat kard. i want to beat a-jax, i want to beat rainbow. i want to show them that even though I debuted last, i can be the best! but my main goal is just to make my mom proud... mom, i love you so much. /rip yoi again/

is there anything you would like to do with the group other than your usual schedule? definitely some teambuilding trips! we need to increase our teamwork! i would also love to do some voluntary work at a shelter, helping to bring attention to pets that can't find an owner, maybe some fans might adopt them then! oh- yoi, can we actually like do that? It's a great idea-

if you could join one program in the near future, what would it be? i want to go on as many fun programs as possible! but please don't make my schedule too crazy... my missies need to be taken care of...

junghee is pretty similar to yubin in some ways. he is a ball of fluff who beams when he smiles, simply having the cutest smile the world has ever seen (according to yubin, according to junghee it's the other way round). he's a very friendly boy who is usually quite open and just beams. when these two are together, people will have to put on sunglasses cause they shine too brightly when smiling at each other. junghee is also one cheesy motherer and often tries to make cute but really tacky puns and jokes. he's also quite the innocent boy as well, but way less innocent than yubin. he has heaps of energy and is hyper like crazy, it's like he's always on a sugar rush and while it can be annoying, it can be super cute as well. he's also very emotional and moody just like yubin, which might cause struggles between them from time to time, but they just know each other so well that they make up immediately. the big difference between yubin and junghee is that junghee is generally pessimistic, and he'll lose courage easily, while yubin will be the one to drag him out of that void. junghee demands and needs lots of love and affection, and yubin is always ready to give it to him, well, almost always, not when he's fostering his missies.

love story. junghee joined dsp entertainment somewhere after a-jax' debut, so yubin was already there for around 5 years. both of them felt something special when they saw each other for the first time, as explained before, and after a few days it was like they had known each other for years already, becoming besties through thick and thin in such a short time, it was astonishing. they were always by each other's side, and when junghee got chosen over yubin to join a-jax, their emotions were turned around, while yubin was really happy for junghee, junghee only felt sad for poor poor yubin. but now yubin feels bad for junghee, because he is less known and a-jax hasn't released a korean comeback since 2013. junghee comes over to milky way a lot, and they were so close and touchy that people at milky way assumed they were boyfriends, but both went in denial strongly, even getting quite pissed. back then, the denial was true, but not so long after that, it all started with one movie cuddle session, and both started to think about how it would be to date the other. that night, yubin dreamt about junghee, and junghee dreamt about yubin. they brushed it off at first, but it was the start of red ears and cheeks, the brightest smiles in the world and innocent hearts beating for each other. seriously, while the talk of milky way entertainment is who would be the top or bottom of the two, because both seem like a bottom, the boys themselves don't even think about it. well, junghee did once and he became a mess. they just want to hold each other's hands, cuddle the little kittens together and just being close with one another. give the boys a break and stop setting them up and embarassing them... looking at you lene, kard, rainbow, yeonjin and most of the milky way staff.
