PERSONALITY:

Yisoo was raised with money, and that for sure has made her superficial. She sees things and people on their surface- Someone pretty? Well she must be smart. Someone ugly? Well she must be stupid. She's critical of people's actions and appearance, though she doesn't often speak these criticisms harshly. She knows better than to be rude about it, because then people won't listen and the problem is not solved. You can feel her "judging stare" sometimes, though. Yisoo is a single-minded person, only able to focus on one thing at a time. Not only is this bothersome to many, but she has a hard time singing and dancing at the same time, because she feels the need to focus on one- So, despite her fairly good voice, she gets little lines compared to some other bandmates. Yisoo  doesn't tend to follow very many morals to get her where she wants to be, instead prone to forgetting morals even exist if the situation doesn't pressingly call for them. She often isn't concerned whether or not her actions are right or wrong- Surely someone else will inform her, right? She expects a good amount from others, because she's always recieved it, and isn't very concerned with being grateful for it. Yisoo doesn't appreciate a lot of sacrifices and hard work those around her have put in, even if they're for her. When she is appreciative, she gets very shy and sheepish, which is the only way people know she's ever been thankful in her lifetime- Still, that's not very often. Yisoo has this uncanny need to have control of a situation, making her wish she was the leader sometimes, and glad she isn't others. If she doesn't, she can feel lost.

She has always been very open with her words, but not so much in a way to offend people. Though those more sensitive might take her words cruelly, she does intend them to help. Yisoo stands up for the (Few things) she believes in, such as taking care of yourself physically and mentally. She is most likely to step in if trainning is one step too far or they haven't eaten recently enough. She encourages the girls daily to take care of their skin and take time to themselves. Yisoo is determined to make those in the group happy, to have a good work environment and simply because she cares for them. She will fight to get to the top, and no one can stop her. This girl is undoubtedly one that takes care of herself well- One of the few Gladiolous doesn't have to check on often to make sure everything is okay. She does anyway, but knows unless there's an emotional problem, she's certainly not needed. Yisoo knows how to be funny, and uses her wits to bring laughter at the most opportune of times. She likes to give the group a pick-me-up with a few witty jokes, or puns for those who are so inclined.

Charistmatic and charming explain a dynamic person, and Yisoo fits those descriptions well. She draws people in with a single glance and is seen interacting with them a lot. Yisoo has manners and etiqutte, exuding elegance and grace with everything she does and is. Even if she dresses "edgy," she's inexplicably elegant. Yisoo can rarely be considered childish, and does take responsibility for her actions, surprisingly. She thinks logically about something before she makes a choice, and often does make the best one. She cares for others as much as she does herself, and Yisoo restrains herself from getting into too many arguments, because she is simply better than that. She doesn't argue emotionally and isn't overly prone to tears- Only when she is alone and the time is right. Yisoo is naturally sociable, and likes to be with others. Though she likes being alone just as much, she loves to interact with other humans. Talking is one of her favorite things to do. She is honest not only with herself, but others. Yisoo isn't the kind to really keep secrets or lie to people- Telling lies really doesn't have a point but to serve for making a mess, so she keeps out of those. Yisoo always thought that if she were to date as an idol, she would be open as soon as she knew the relationship was solid. She is honest to herself about her feelings in every situation, as well as to others. If a fan asks how she is? "I'm tired~ How are you?" If a member asks, "Are you angry?" "Yeah, but let's move on." She doesn't like to hide herself.

BACKGROUND:

Kim Yisoo was born the seventeenth of January as the youngest of three children- Herself, Youngjoo, and Yubin. She was raised with a lot of love and enough money to do the fun things as a kid, like the zoo, amusement parks, the beach, everything. She was the youngest by three years, her older brother nearly three when she was born, and her older sister four, turning five. Her life was fairly average, nothing too flashy or too sad. She was average in school, friendships, and simply life. Yisoo grew up much more closely to Youngjoo than Yubin, who really put her on edge due to his loud and playful nature. She never really liked him that much, and he knew that. Even still, he adored his sisters with all of him heart. He always took care of them, even though Yisoo always denied the affection. Youngjoo always found their relationship adorable. Though Yisoo will never admit it, it was Yubin who inspired her to pursue music. He was firm in his dream to become an actor, no matter how much their father put him down for it. Eventually, their mother threatened to divorce their father due to the way he constantly verbally abused them. Yubin did not back down even though the arguments got worse. With that, Yisoo found the courage to do what her brother had- Express her dream to be in the entertainment industry, but as an idol rather than an actor. Her parents have been separated since. Yisoo, with the promise of doing better in school, began to train, always silently blaming herself for her parents splitting. How couldn't it be her fault?

In high school, she made many more friends than she had in her previous years in school. She used these key years as the years she grew, becoming a strong, mother figure in her small, hurt family. Yisoo learned to forgive and forget, just like her parents had always insisted, and found herself branching out. She wasn't just interesting in singing and dancing, no- Art became something she loved and could find love with. Because of her interests and talents in many things, it was no surprise that both within her company and within school, she became popular and well-known. In her junior year, Yisoo began to actively participate in her community. She was seen at charity events and working as a volunteer, be it picking up trash off the streets at four in the morning to animal shelter adoption events. She would make beautiful signs for them and sing to get donations for the causes she supported. Despite being amazing at what singing, Yisoo's company, DSP Media, did not debut her in the girl group Kara. However, at age fifteen she prefered to focus on her schoolwork anyway. She balanced that, her trainee life, and volunteer work with little difficulty- She knew how to plan and follow those plans. Yisoo also knew how to deal with failures and how to work around them. In 2009, when Yisoo was well-known in the community for her volunteer work and for her voice, she was heavily considered to debut in Rainbow. However, she was cut last minute and replaced with Seungah- Yisoo was anywhere from one to four years younger than the others, and at the time didn't quite fit their image. She was hurt when only weeks later they released debut teaser images, but once again focused on school. She was graduating next year, so she shouldn't be an idol, right...?

Just before she graduated, Yisoo's trainee contract ran up. She was offered the option to resign, and she seriously considered it. But then she thought about the two groups who had debuted without her, their popularity levels and how likely it would be for them to debut another girl group, and when. She didn't like her chances, and doubted they would debut her as a soloist so she denied the offer and left. Yisoo auditioned for JYP Entertainment and Starship Entertainment, but upon being rejected from both, Yisoo decided to give music a break. If it was meant for her, something would inspire her again or she would find the opportunity presented to her. She instead focused on life at Ewha Womans University, even moving into their student dorms. Yisoo became very involved with the school's art program, and began to do murals for the school. During the summer before her second year, she even repainted all of the sudent dorms in various, extremely beautiful ways. It was during one of her singing-for-charity events that she continued to do that she was scouted by Bloom Entertainment, just about two years ago by Baek Tae Hyun. It took Yisoo a few months to get the courage to audition, but her then-roommate was a smoker and she hated being in her dorm room. Not only would she get another chance at her dream job, but she could spend less time at the dorm. It was perfect, right? After her rendition of I Don't Love You, she was in and has been training since.

LIKES:

HOBBIES:

✩ Photography, she's had a camera since she was a kid and has tens of thousands of pictures developed. Her walls are covered with them, from nature to herelf to her friends and family, objects and events, she loves to photograph it all.
✩ Fishing, she used to do it with her dad every weekend but stopped around age fourteen. She wishes she hadn't stopped.
✩ Basketball, it's her favorite sport ever.
✩ Shopping, she's always loved it. She wastes all her money on shopping and photography film.
✩ Party planning, from simple get-togethers to elaborate baby showers, sleepovers to birthday parties, Yisoo is your girl. Just give her a call, explain the basics of what you want and who it's for, she'll tell your her price and get started immediately. She'll also offer an optional photography service, of course only a $50 extra charge, and more if you want pictures printed or Polaroids.

HABITS:

✩ She's biual and doesn't like to recognize this. She worries a lot about society would view her, and what that could do to her career, so she masks any attraction as skinship-y affection. She's yet to find someone that would make her want to recognize her feeling for women. Oftentimes, Yisoo pretends uality isn't even a thing to make life easier on her. If it doesn't exist, there's nothing to worry about.

✩ Actually, she does flute covers of KPOP songs. Her favorite to do is BTS's Butterfly, she really thinks the song is beautiful and the whole video for it...Amazing.
✩ Yisoo is closest to Apple Blossom, Daisy, Lotus, and Petunia, surprisingly.
✩ Less close with Rose, Gardenia, Daffodil, and somewhat Carnation. That being said, she wants to be closer with Carnation.
✩ More or less is  on a better or little worse standing with Gladiolous, Fuchsia, and Lilac. She's more neutral, and gets along with them a little better than some or a little worse than others. Nothing too big.

FAMILY: 

✩ Mother - Kim Ahseong (56) | Stay-at-home mother| Maternal, charming, stubborn, worrisome | 8.5-10 (FC: Choi Hwajung)
            Kim Jinah had always been a hard-working woman, accepting and caring for her children- Yisoo is no different. She adores her youngest as much she does the other two, and gave up everything for them. While her husband had rejected their dreams, she encouraged them to do what they loved. Living was not always easy for her but she made the most of her life, and now her children are making enough money to support her and even each other if they fall on hard times. She's very proud of her children and hopes they find all they want in life. Yisoo isn't very grateful for her mother's sacrifices but she does love her and wishes she could spend more time with her. Alas, Yisoo is too busy and instead calls home weekly.

✩ Older sister - Kim Youngjoo (30) | Assistant sales manager | Intelligent, loving, nosy, perfectionist | 9-10 (FC: Gyuri of KARA)
           Youngjoo is the eldest of the Kim siblings, and let's be honest- She adores her baby siblings. Yisoo is her baby girl and she treats her like so. They often text and call each other just to check on how they're doing, and Yisoo looks up to her older sister for how hard she has been working. Youngjoo was bullied a lot in middle and high school, but she never let it get to her and to Yisoo, that's one of the coolest things in the world. Youngjoo still lives with their mother, but not because she can't afford to move out- Rather, she wants to stay and support their mother by helping around the house, whereas Yubin helps more with the monetary part of things. Youngjoo worries about how the idol life will affect her younger sister- Yubin, as an actor, has had to undergo a lot of stress and drama and it took it's toll on him. Still, Yisoo does her best to reassure her older sister that all is well and that she can definitely handle the lifestyle she chose. Yisoo likes to take Youngjoo out for lunch dates.

✩ Older brother - Kim Yubin (28) | Actor | Playful, empathetic, picky, loud | 4-10 (FC: Jo Minho, model)
            Yubin and Yisoo are not very much alike, and this is a lot of the reason why she does not feel like she can get along with her elder brother. She, of course, loves him. After all, he is her family and he has done nothing but support and love her through the years (With a healthy side of nonstop teasing and poking fun at her, as siblings are apt to do). However, his playful personality in even the darkest of times kind of rubs her the wrong way, and he's always so loud. It grates on her nerves, and even if Yubin tries to tone it down when she's around (Aware that his younger sister does not like it), she just gets annoyed easily with him. Still, he is the one who inspired her to pursue her dreams as an idol and though she will never admit it, she is thankful to him. Yubin is well aware of his younger sister's uality, but he and the rest of the family are progessive and open-minded. His biggest hope for Yisoo is that she will find it in her to accept herself and pursue true love. As always, he will be here to take care of her if she needs it.

FRIENDS: 

✩ Best friend - Shin Nana (24) | Receptionist at Bloom Ent. | Confident, rational, spoiled, procrastinating | 9-10 (FC: Hani of EXID)
          Shin Nana and Kim Yisoo met in the fourth grade and haven't seperated since- Seriously, Nana even got a job at Bloom Entertainment when Yisoo said she was accepted as a trainee. They love each other a lot and though they argue a lot, both know it's never serious enough to harm their relationship. They acccept each other's personalities and secrets without question, claiming to never be able to hate each other. They often banter and insult each other, but at the same time they also compliment each other a lot Like..A lot. Every few words are an insult, and the others are a compliment. People find them to be fairly ridiculous but they found each other when they were both having a hard time, so have a very strong bond. They known everything about each other.

✩ Roommate + Close friend - Park Aejung (24) | College student | Humorous, passionate, emotional, critical | 8-10 (FC: Hyelim of Wonder Girls)
          Park Aejung is Yisoo's current roommate at Ehwa Womens University. Despite only knowing each other for a few months, they've gotten very close- That's what being a roommate does, makes you insanely close or insanely hate each other. Thankfully, these two were the former (Unlike some of Yisoo's past roommates) and they actually share a lot of interests. Aejung used to train at SM Entertainment as a rapper but left to pursue college full-time instead. Yisoo found that to be pretty cool, and they suddenly had a lot to talk about concerning music and KPOP in particular. They bonded quickly and have learned a lot about each other since. Aejung misses Yisoo since she's not at their dorm room as often- She's too busy and normally sleep at the band dorm unless it's between promotions, or sometimes promotions for subunits she's not in. They still text often.

✩ Friend and crush - Yoon Bomi (23) | Idol (Main dancer, lead vocalist, Apink) | Sincere, generous, soft-hearted, overworked | 7-10
          Bomi and Yisoo met mcuh differently than one would expect. They actually met at an animal shelter they both volunteered at (Bomi actually does quietly volunteeer at animal shelters and stuff, it's pretty cool) a few years back. Yisoo thought it was pretty cool that an idol was volunteering, and was really sweet and kind. Yisoo asked to exchange numbers and Bomi enjoyed her company enough to do it, with the promise that Yisoo wouldn't put it up online or tell anyone there. To that, Yisoo replied, "Since my brother is an actor, that would be pretty cruel to do." She waved goodbye and left, leaving Bomi shocked. It took a lot of pestering before Yisoo finally told her who her brother was. XD They're not too close, but they're friends you would go to see a movie or have dinner with,and Yisoo thinks that Bomi is very pretty and kind. She doesn't realize it's a crush.

✩ Friend - Park Eunsuh (23) | Library technician | Kind, imaginative, quiet, overbearing | 6.5-10 (FC: Ji Ae of Lovelyz)
          Eunsuh and Yisoo have known each other since their second year of high school. They met at the library (Funny that Eunsuh works at one now) while studying for the same project- After that, they became study buddies. They were studying the same thing in college but Eunsuh was smart enough to graduate with her degree early- However, she's kept her job as a library technician/librarian. Eunsuh is often the first to send a "Good work today" or "You did well" text or sall to Yisoo- She's just that kind of quiet, sweet person. She doesn't have a loud personality unless someone she loves is in some sort of trouble. Yisoo really admires her for her ability to finish getting her degree early and be so...Sweet. It's really amazing. She's one of a kind.

OTHERS: 

✩ Manager - Lee Ji Ae (34) | Bloom Ent. Staff | Hard-working,  determined, strict, cautious | 5-10
          Yisoo understands Ji Ae's harsh ways, actually. She doens't hate or love her in any sort of way- She's definitely on the middle ground and often can be found explaining her motives and harsher words to the more sensitive or younger members. Yisoo is sure that Ji Ae cares for them in some way- She's like that overly strict parent, who wants the best for you but doesn't show it well or goes about it the wrong way. Yisoo is pretty sure that's what her dad was like- She doesn't remember him much since her parents seperated wehen she was young and he's been pretty absent from her life, but it feels right. Ji Ae tends to favor Yisoo over the other girls often- It's her personality, I guess.

✩ Manager - Baek Tae Hyun (27) | Bloom Ent. Staff | Passionate, active, overprotective, stubborn | 6.5-10
          It's kind of weird, since Tae Hyun isn't much older than her, but she kind of finds a father in him. She's known him since she joined Bloom Entertainment, and he's always been pretty kind to her. He did scout her, after all- He'd heard and seen her work in the past and liked it, so when he saw her on the streets he knew that it would be good if he scouted her. Yisoo is very grateful that he gave her that kind of opportunity, and often makes sure he knows it. Sure, he gets a bit overprotective of her and the members, but she knows he has their best interests at heart. Tae Hyun Oppa is prety cool.

STAGE NAME: Yisoo
PERSONA: The Queen

TRAINEE YEARS: Six years, nine months (Five years at DSP Media, one year and nine months at Bloom Entertainment)
TRAINEE LIFE:  Yisoo has been training for a long time- Nearly seven years is nothing to laugh at. Originally, Yisoo trained at DSP Media for five of her trainee years. While there, she was passed by multiple times for debut. She worked very hard to improve her craft, even though she was only thirteen when she started to train. Yisoo was definitely a dancer more than a vocalist, though she was able to improve her vocals quite nicely, she focused on becoming a sharper dancer. In 2007, DSP Media put together the lineup for Kara- Yisoo was fifteen, but wasn't a part of it. She was only a year younger than the youngest member, and when she inquired why she wasn't going to debut with them, she was still given the anser of "Too young." She was fiteen, older than some that had debuted. However, she put that behind her and thought to herself, "I'll debut in their next girl group." She continued to train, doing volunteer work and in just a few months, member Sunghee was leaving. However, Yisoo was still rejected and didn't join. In 2009, DSP Media was going to  debut Rainbow. She was supposed debut with them, and even trained with the group for a while. However, just before they actually recorded their debut muusic, Yisoo was pulled rom the group and replaced with Seungah. The creative director had convinced everyone that at hre age and currnet looks, she could never fit with their decided concept, and she was reverted back to a normal trainee status. When her trainee contract ended just before she graduated, Yisoo cut it and ran. If she was meant to debut, something would happen and she would be able to feel it. At that point, she didn't feel like a debut was possible.

In January of the year 2014, Yisoo was scouted by Bloom Entertainment. They wanted her to go through a scouting audition or two, and she felt like that was what she had been waiting for. They were a small company, sure, but out of everyone, they'd shown an interest in her, and so she would show an interest in them. Yisoo put all of her emotion into the first round of scouting auditions and sang I Don't Love You for the first round. They were certain they wanted her, because while she wasn't the best singer, they were sure that the emotion in her voice would be more than enough and they'd already seen her dancing skills. She was accepted and began to train the next week., She kept her brother's identity a secret, just like she had in DSP, and was well-liked for her talent and personality. The was a good trainee and her trainers never had many complaints. She enjoyed her time while training under Bloom Entertainment, it felt more like home than DSP ever had.

PREDEBUT:

✩ Backup dancer for literally all DSP artists that were active when she was a trainee there
✩ Backup vocals for Rainbow and Kara. Even now they use some old recorded backup vocals for April.
✩ Released DSP Media trainee hype track in 2010, Only One (In 2010, DSP released a lot of trainee hype tracks, to prepare for the special auditions they were about to open. You can put that in 480p so it looks it would have in 2010--)

SCANDALS:

✩ Flower Girl's Yisoo Curses on Live Broadcast! (2017) | True
         So, Flower Girls were on a live broatcast and Yisoo slipped and landed roughly on her arm. she mutted a quick, quiet "!" but it caught on her mic. Netizens were quick to point it out and the company issued a formal statement and she posted an apology video, promising to never do it again.

✩ Yisoo Caught Smoking At Dorm? (2018) | False
         It definitely wasn't Yisoo, who finds smoking to be extremely gross. It was a look-alike (If you can call her that, she was wearing a hood and sunglases, her hair was just inspired by Yisoo's since she's a fan, who actually came forward when no one believed Yisoo or the company, stating that it was her- Which you could tell becuse she had a mole on her jaw that Yisoo doesn't. Afterwards, they actually become close friends.

✩ Yisoo is Caught Kissing Bandmate Caira (Late 2018) | Ha true but whose gonna admit that--
         So Yisoo did what she shouldn't have done and kissed Caira in public- She thought they were alone and were in an alleyway near their dorm. But when the picture began to circulate and their bandmates saw, suddenly looking at them with more suspicious eyes, Yisoo knew she messed up. When they were called into the CEO's office to explain, Yisoo already had her explanaition in mind, "It seemed like there was a bug on Caria's jaw- She's terrified of them. I was simply trying to take a look, sir, it was definitely the camera's angle. We'd never do anything like that."
