APPEARANCE
Haseul has a scar on the bottom of her right foot from stepping on a piece of glass during an argument with her baby's father (On the arch). They were arguing in the Seoul streets late at night, she only wore slippers since it was meant to be a quick trip to the convenience store, and the glass sliced right through. Since the memory was somewhat traumatic to Haseul who had never even sprained anything, she ended up covering the scar with a tattoo (x). She normally wears socks so no one really knows about it. That being said, those tattoos are known to fade and she doesn't think she will have it redone.
HEIGHT & WEIGHT — 166 cm & 58 kg (Will be 62 kg at due date)
FASHION SENSE
Generally, Haseul's fall and winter wear is a bit different than it would have been last year since she went through those seasons mostly pregnant this year. She wasn't a big fan of maternity clothes and instead wore very baggy or layered clothes. She definitely stuck to sweaters, stretch pants, and jeggings instead of denim and skirts, though was was particularly fond of one long skirt. Haseul is definitely the type to wear thematically relevant sweaters at the holidays.
This spring and summer, Haseul will be focused on healthily losing her baby weight but will definitely be a bit self-concious about it. Because of that, she tends to stick to sweaters still, now paired with shorts and skirts. Still, she loves her light and bright dresses and can't help but wear some. More into summer she might start to branch out a bit more into her older, more T-shirt and jeans style. Haseul is quite fond of floral patterns. It's more than likely that she'll cut her long hair short in the spring or summer.
In all honesty, she did end up choosing to wear a bunch of maternity pajamas and they're so comfortable, she doesn't really want to switch back to what she wore before. She is also buying nursing-specific maternity pajamas.

PERSONALITY TRAITS —

"Haseul, why are you crying?" hufflepuff "I just can't help but give and give."

(+) warm, practical, sensory, charming, passionate, maternal
hard to get to know
frugal, subjective (=) artful, determined
do not micromanage
competitive, unpredictable, easily stressed, giving, worrisome (-)

Introversion Sensing Feeling Perception values individuality

ELABORATION
Something very notable about Haseul is that she innately gives. You may think this is a good thing, but she takes it much too far. She rarely leaves time for herself and becomes all-consumed in helping others. She forgets herself in the mix, even though she notoriously needs time to herself. This is because she cannot help but worry about others. It is in her nature to care for them, hence the maternal feeling she has had her whole life. While she worries about people occasionally to an extreme, her natural maternal instincts are very comforting and gives her a soft feeling. Her warmness is an aura about her, like hot cocoa on a snowy day. It envelops you and really makes you feel comfortable. Haseul is determined in everything she does, and this can lead to her becoming overwhelmed and easily stressed. While her determination does get the job done, it can and will take it's toll. This is something to be wary of if you pursue friendship with her.

What is unique and refreshing about Haseul is that she is very much a sensory person. This really has developed her artful taste. She lives in the moment and wants to create positive memories. She recalls moments in sights, scents, feelings and emotions. This translates into her artistic side and she can beautifully represent what a moment was like in some art form or another. She is spontaneous, almost, but she is much too practical to simply hop on a train without a second thought. This natural practicality leads to her frugal spending and she does value saving money. She tries to lives with less than more, but this is a trait that is slowly being pased out as her son comes into her life. Haseul does things logically, however she is known to be subjective. How she deals with situations entirely depends on who she is with and what she is feeling. Her opinions are rarely solid. That being said, one thing that will never change is that she is competitive to a fault.

She is passionate with the things she loves, and this gives her such a charming feeling. Haseul simply draws people in with her sweet concern for others, her warm aura, her passion or the arts, and many find it endearing how giving she is. There is a lot to be said about Ko Haseul, but the biggest thing? The girl simply is sugary sweet.

BACKGROUND + CURRENT EVENTS —
to become a flower
When Ko Haseul was born, her family seemed somewhat perfect. She lived with her mother, father, paternal grandmother, and a few years later was graced with younger twin brothers and sisters. The twins, Ko Eunah (F) and Ko Eunsoo (M) were very precious siblings to her. She learned very quickly that she loved children and that she wanted to be a mother when she was older. Eunah and Eunsoo adored their elder sister who was like a second mother. Haseul was well-liked by her teachers for her charming introversion, and she never acted out or caused any sort of trouble (Excluding that time in second grade where she poured glue in Lee Soyi's hair, but Soyi had just cut a chunk of Haseul's hair out and she needed revenge okay--). However, this loving family began to fall apart when her parents' jobs began to really pull them apart. Her mother, Son Minhee was a lawyer and her father, Ko Byungsoo was an accountant. They both worked long hours and even after three children, they fell out of love. When Haseul was twelve years old, and the twins only four, their parents divorced. The twins went with Byungsoo and Haseul went with Minhee. She missed her grandmother and siblings so, and struggled a lot in the next few years. This is truly when her love for the arts came about, as well as her overwhelming trait of giving too much.

to begin to wilt
While Byungsoo, Eunah, and Eunsoo stayed in Sokcho, Haseul and her mother ended up moving to Daegu when her mother met her new boyfriend. Kim Jungmin was a kind man and he treated both of the girls very well. By the time Haseul was fourteen, her mother had remarried him. The couple began to foster six-year-old Min Haeil whom Haseul loved just as much as her twin siblings. She only saw Eunah and Eunsoo during summer and winter breaks so Haeil was a wonderful little gift. When her father remarried to a Rusian woman by the name of Liliya Mikhailov (who had moved to South Korea while pursuing a translating career), he and Minhee mutually decided that it was time for them to effectively switch kids. So while Eunah and Eunsoo began to live with their mother for the first time in four years, Haseul was sent to finish up high school in her hometown of Sokcho. Liliya was fairly pleasant but just that. The two never created a strong bond the name way Haseul had with Jungmin. She missed Haeil greatly and while she loved to see her father again, her hometown simply wasn't the same. It was in this time that she found her greatest interest of baking. She took cooking class in her last two years of high school and fell in love. She and Liliya bonded a bit more through the latter teaching her how to make Russian desserts. Liliya and Byungsoo had a daughter the same year they married- Siyeon Natalia Ko. After graduation, Haseul chose to stay in Sokcho, in love with her new baby sister.

to think of what happened between
What was surprising about her situation was that the father of the baby was four years younger than Haseul. That was the reason he left her upon finding out about the baby- He was barely twenty-two and he wanted nothing to do with a child. Lee Sangho had been the perfect boyfriend for three years and they had planned a future that was her future no longer. In the years between graduation and becoming pregnant, Haseul sold watercolor paintings and pastries at farmer's markets, still living with her father and step-mother. They had the room and money to keep her with them, and she took care of her grandmother and Natalia while her father and Liliya worked. She, once again, knew what it was like to be idolized as a mother figure by a younger sibling. Haseul saved up most of her money to open her own bakery, because baking was what she really loved to do. It was her biggest passion, alongside watercolor painting. She got very close with her younger twin siblings (Making regular trips between Seoul, where they now lived and Sokcho), but unfortunately by the tiime she graduated her foster brother Haeil had been taken in by a different foster family and they had no contact. He forever held a special place in her heart. Haseul never pursued a secondary educationa nd instead focused on her boyfriend and friends. She wore herself thin many times taking care of them, but life was good.

to become a mother
In May of 2017, Ko Haseul became pregnant with her younger boyfriend's child. She planned for kids in her early thirties- not mid-twenties. The two had only had unprotected because she supposedly wasn't ovulating. Haseul had been quite sure it was fine and no child would result. Still, she found herself anticipating it, but also nervous. How would Sangho react to becoming a father so early in his life? He was only twenty-two, but she was ready to reassure him they could do it. She told him at fifteen weeks, just before she found out the gender of the child. He booked it, and she was heartbroken. Haseul had never truly entertained the thought that he would leave her. It was strange, to suddenly be alone. A number of her friends pushed her away upon discovering her prengancy, falling prey to the social stigmas of unwed single motherhood in South Korea. Byungsoo and Liliya also rejected her, kicking her out and forbidding her from seeing Natalia. She stayed between her best friend's house in Sokcho and her mother's house in Seoul. While her mother was less than supportive, Jungmin really stepped up as a father figure. Eunah was a bit embarassed thanks to the normal Korean stereotypes but she still loved her older sister- Eunsoo was thrilled beyond belief. Minhee warned her eldest daughter that she would not tolerate a newborn in her house, however, citing that she was too old and Haseul was old enough to take the consequences of her mistakes. This worried the twenty-six-year-old. All of her money that she had saved over the years was meant to go to her bakery. However, she could give it up if it meant being able to care for her baby boy...Then The Together Project made it's appearance and changed her life. She is due in February.

(Subject to change based on time the fic starts. Trying to take into account how long applications might be open. I plan to have her only a month and a half left of pregnancy when the story starts.)

RELATIONSHIPS
Mother, step-father- Son Minhee & Kim Jungmin (54 & 55) - Laywer, photographer

Minhee was close with her daughter for many years, but she is quite traditional compared to her husband and does not believe she owes Haseul her support for the baby. She does not want that kind of distraction in her household and believes that it's time for her eldest to finally move out of her and her ex-husband's homes for good and take care of herself. If she can use the baby as an excuse to get it going, then so be it. Jungmin is much more accepting of the whole situation is disagrees with his wife about kicking Haseul out, especially since her father and step-mother already made her leave their place. While he is playing a more active and supportive role in her life now, he is not willing to stand up to his wife.

Younger siblings - Ko Eunah & Ko Eunsoo (18) - Students

It took a long conversation (Mainly Eunsoo scolding Eunah) to get the six-minute-elder twin to really understand that her older sister did nothing wrong by becoming pregnant. Eunah is much more like her parents than Eunsoo is, but she adores her elder sister and is now excited for the baby to come. A nephew! The three of them often go out to meals and Haseul helps them with their homework. Eunsoo loves his elder sister unconditionally and hopes for the best for her and the baby. He definitely plans of visiting her often, especially after his nephew is born. He wants to be an active part of their life. Despite their ages, Eunsoo and Haseul can often be found cuddling on a couch together. They truly are close.

Best friends - Sang Seungah & Shim Mikyung (26 & 24) - Journalist, freelance artist

Seungah and Mikyung are the only two friends who stuck by Haseul after all was said and done. Seungah is her best friend in Sokcho, and trust me, she bitterly glares at Byungsoo and Liliya every time she happens to see them. She had no idea how they could posibly abandon Haseul like that. These two were best friends from the time they were five- Hell, even after Haseul moved away to live with her mother and moved back, they stayed the best of friends. They support each other through thick and thin, and have awesome adventures together. Unfortunately, Sokcho is about two and a half hours away from Seoul, so they can't see each other as often anymore. Before The Together Project, Haseul lived between Seungah's and her mother's house. In Seoul, her best friend is Mikyung. The two are thick as thieves and are often found on friendly coffee dates together. Mikyung has a fair amount of money from her family and is willing to help fund Haseul's bakery in the future, if she would let her. She has no problem with the fact that the elder is pregnant. So what?

PLEASE, SIMPLY INTRODUCE YOURSELF. — "Okay," She took a small breath, "Good morning! My name is Ko Haseul, I am twenty-six years of age and I will soon be the happy mother of one!"
INTRODUCE YOUR BABY. A fond smile immediately appeared, and her left hand absently her swollen stomach, "Haeil is going to make his first appearance in, oh, a month and a half or so. I'm really anxious and excited for him to get here! Already I know he will be my pride and joy. I can hardly imagine what it will feel like to hold him in my arms."
WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS? — "I hope that some time after Haeil is born I can open by own bakery. However, I know that childcare is expensive so I am trying to live more in the moment. Haeil is going to be my main focus, I can't..." Her expression filled with love, "I have to dedicate my life to him. There just isn't any other way. My main goal is to be a good mother to my myshka."
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A MOTHER, TO YOU? — "Ah, gosh," She shook her head, "Being a mother is being yourself, but putting someone else before you. You're not number one anymore, you selfish girl! All kidding aside, being a mother means providing all the affection and experiences you can to and for your child. You have to give them happy memories to balance out any potential sad ones life will bring them. You are their cheerleader and you love them through thick and thin!" She peeked down at her stomach, where you could see something poking from her shirt. "Oh, I think that's his foot. Hiya cutie!"
THOUGHTS ON TOGETHER. — "Wow. Just, wow. South Korea is really a closed off place. They don't take kindly to anyone who is outside of the norm, and single motherhood is so very taboo. Together is really an amazing project and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity. Helen Kim is a hero to me, and I'm sure the other mothers. This project is absolutely life-changing."
HOW DO YOU THINK YOU'LL BE WITH THE OTHER MOTHERS? — "It's true I'm introverted," She picked absently at a scab on her left hand, "I might have some trouble getting used to living with others, but the fact that they'll be mothers will really help me with my myshka. Sure, I've taken care of younger siblings but I know that being a mother, much less a single mother, will be entirely different. This is a fact. I don't reveal all my secrets easily and sometimes people call me mysterious. I hope that my innate introversion won't cause any problems. I really hope to make friends, you know? Gosh, maybe we can even become a family all together. Wouldn't that be the dream?"

BIRTHPLACE — Seoul, South Korea

FACECLAIM — Elroy (Blogger Tammy Tay's Son, hard to find newborns. Her blog, x, has pictures of Elroy from birth)

TRIVIA
• Haeil is still in the womb when the project begins, but Haseul picked his name from the moment she found out the gender of her baby. Haeil was the name of her foster brother when she lived with her mother.
• He will be a very colic-y baby.
• The child is especially fond of wrist and ankle rattles.
• Uncle Eunsoo sewed him a baby blanket when he first found out about him. It looks like this (x) and is his official baby blanket.
• The due date was January 18th
• Haseul's nickname for Haeil is myshka, which is Russian and she habitually picked up from her step-mother Liliya talking to her half-sister Natalia. It means little mouse. Though she may not be Russian, she spoke it frequently for ten years and it comes out every one in a while.
• Once born, Haseul gets him into a specific feeding and napping schedule, which he does very well with until he gets colic-y.
• He is very fond of Joo and she is his favorite in the house excluding his mother.
• For whatever reason, once he is a few months old, whenever Haseul shows him anything with penguins on it he laughs and laughs. No one can really figure out if he just really likes penguins and they're his favorite animal or if he thinks they look really ridiculous buy by God do they put him in stitches.

RELATIONSHIP
Well, it may be true that Haeil is not yet born, but he is very popular once he is. The boy is much like his mother in the way that he naturally attracts people and is very charming. He prefers to be awake more than asleep and loves toys that make noise. Haeil is happiest when he has physical contact with another person and is fascinated with the older kids. His personality seems to be very sociable and Haseul loves him more than anything. She first time she held him, she burst into tears. The very fact that he exists fills her heart with joy, and she is ready to run herself ragged, dedicated to him. He. Is. Her. Everything. She is relieved when the other girls take over for her for a short while, however, because she does forget to take care of herself sometimes. Haeil is not afraid of strangers and latches onto whoever is holding him- Haseul is sure to keep his little nails clipped so he doesn't scratch himself or someone else.

LOVE INTEREST — Song, Daewon (OC. FC: Yoseob of Highlight)
BACKUP — N/A

PERSONALITY — Accepting, easy-going, contemplative, challenging, spiritual, hedonistic, well-meaning, delicate
Daewon has always been considered to be a very accepting, go-with-the-flow type of person. From a young age he was raised to respect everyone and to not make judgements about people based on things like their age, race, gender, uality, gender identity, social class, anything. He was always told to look into a person's heart and his own before making judgements. Because of this, he is very progessive and accepts the good and bad of numerous people. Daewon is easy-going in terms of how he reacts to things and situations. It is hard to rile him up- He simply doesn't like to get tense and takes things as is. That is because he is fairly spiritual and likes to evaluate himself and his morals. He cares about himself and others and is quite in-tune with himself. Daewon is kind and loving.
Still, just because of these things does not mean he will not argue a point. Daewon often challenges people's thoughts and opinions. He does this with no ill will- Instead, he wants them to think. He wants to have real conversations. Daewon will challenge all of your ideals and beliefs and world views, and it can be frustrating. He does this, however, out of a place of caring because he believe you will understand and truly be able to hold an intellectual conversation. He believes you will benefit from this. Daewon is well-meaning but often he can overstep his boundaries. Some people find his kind, quite well-meaning behavior to be annoying and hard to be around. He himself just likes to think. He does not like to make rash desicions and he contemplates the world. Shouldn't you, too?
Daewon chases after pleasure. He is hedonistic more than most. Though not often physical pleasure, if something is likely to invoke positive emotions or feelings then he wants it. Really, truly wants it and goes after it without abandon. This can lead to desicions like overeating, eating too many sweets, leaving one friend behind to do an activity with another that he perceives to be better, overspending, etc. The worst part of this is, he thinks out these choices and knows that what he is doing is not always right. He is overly self-indulgent in this way. When people criticize this behavior, Daewon is apt to taking it too close to heart. He is delicate in his emotions and is easily hurt. If you do not carefully think over what you say to Daewon, it's likely you'll hurt his feelings. He is prone to laughing things off with a teary smile, but the moment you ask him if he's okay, he'll break to pieces right there. Daewon's delicate emotions are what make him a truly three-dimensional man.
LOVE STORY
Daewon and Haseul originally met through Mikyung when Haseul started staying at her mother's house again. Mikyung was aware that Daewon would accept Haseul's situation no matter the views that Koreans traditionally held. In fact, he would probably love to get to know her. She introduced them and they hit it off well. Due to her situation, Haseul needed all of the support and love she could get, and Daewon happily supplied these things. He found her to be fascinating and wonderful, and by the time Haeil was born, he was becoming hopelessly entwined in their lives. He was always fond of children, and wanted a large family some day. Haseul found this to be charming and endearing, and really felt she could trust her new friend with her child. It was amazing to have another person to rely on in those tougher times, and he never hesitated to be there for her.
After Haeil's birth, Daewon became a prominent figure in Haseul's life. He always seemed to be available when she needed anything (Mostly because he completely lives off of his parent's money and graduated college already- He does not have large plans in life), and she found herself constantly turning to them. Daewon loved to be around her and the baby, and began to fall in love. With each smile, each shared laugh and lingering touch, their chemistry became increasingly apparent. He fell in love with her soft kindness, the way she enjoyed sensory experiences much like he did, and her unconventional intelligence. Haeil's pure existence was like magic to Daeon- The little boy captured his heart from first glance. That's what truly brought Haseul's feelings to life- Seeing how tenderly he cared for her child, how much joy he felt, it made her heart warm and flutter. Their relationship grew naturally and slowly, never rushed. These two took their time, really experiencing falling in love.

RELATIONSHIP — By Haeil's very first birthday (Daewon buys him a "Smash Cake," it's amazing), the two are just starting to date. The baby has created an inseparable bond between them, and truly, Haseul cannot imagine living being in love with anyone but Daewon. One hundred percent, he has erased the lingering love she felt for Sangho and replaced it with her love for him. She gladly would teach Haeil to call Daewon "Appa."

BABY FATHER — Lee Sangho (INX)
BACKUP — Lee Jun Yong (INX)

PERSONALITY — Energetic, resourceful, contemplative, youthful, careless, unprincipled, selfish, irascible
Sangho often showed a tendancy to be somewhat quick to anger. While he could reign himself in quite well, for whatever reason it was not hard for him to get angry in the first place. Many believe it had to do with his abundance of energy. He never could sit in one place and used his energy to get things done. Sangho rarely tired and could work for hours. He was youthful for sure, and always looked at things with a wonderfully fresh eye. He was rarely blinded by the normal societal standards and looked at things from such a unique perspective. That was what made him attractive.
Still, he was often careless and did not think about the consequences of his actions. He only cared about how his choices and decisions would affect him. This was deeply connected to his youthful personality. It was never will ill intent, he simply did not think of these things or of many other people. He was mostly left to raise himself, and lacked many principles that most people do. Still, Sangho was always known to be contemplative. Sure, not about things like his actions, but anything that could provide an intelletual challenge or art or the like? He spent a lot of his time simply thinking.
Now, just because he left Haseul and the baby does not make him a bad person. That situation was not one that Sangho could grow in and become a better person. He knew that. Sangho would make a good for nothing father and he had so much more he wanted to do. He was so young. Haseul was his first love, and there were so many other people to meet. So he left. This does not make him bad.
STORY
Sokcho is known for the nearby Yeongrangho Lake. Haeseul was often found there in the months following graduation, painting with her watercolors which she even sold during the popular Seorak Culture Festival. She was naturally introverted but loved to meet all the people who admired her artistic work. Haseul met one boy in particular at age twenty-two. She had been dual-selling Ptichye Moloko (Bird's Milk) and her watercolors at a farmer's market the weekend after one such culture festival. He was only eighteen years old but he made such an impression on her- Lee Sangho really understood the artistic value of her work, and she was enamoured. Never before had someone spoken to her with such respect, such knowledge and truly saw behind her many layers. Sangho was just as fascinated with her- In the years they knew each other, not a day went by that he didn't learn something new, shocking, and exciting about her. The two became fast friends, and soon enough, lovers. It was strange, to be the older one in a relationship. Sure, through the years she had dated a few boys, but they were always two or three years older. Never four years younger. Still, they nagivated their relationship well, most of their dates by the Yeongrangho Lake. It was lovely.
They dreamed helping each other with their dream jobs (Haseul to open her own bakery, Sangho to become a physical therapist), of staying in each other's arms forever. They planned their whole lived in Sokcho and everything seemed perfect. Then the pregnancy happened and it all went to hell. Sangho ran straight out of Sokcho and never looked back. All Haseul could do was look at the broken pieces of what she'd known and sigh. He was a child at best, and she should have known. He could never be a father. He didn't change his number or block her but made it very clear he was not interested in a relationship of any kind, he would not be putting his name on the birth certificate, he could not afford to pay child support as he was now attending university, and he did not want to be contacted about the child. Haseul keeps his number in her phone but she doesn't think she'll ever speak to him again. It still leaves her in tears. She thought that in the next few years they would have gotten married, opened her bakery and gotten him his job as a physical therapist and started their family. To be abandoned like that is painful indeed.
FINAL WORDSI believe Daewon and Haseul match and contrast very well with each other. She is frugal and gives, he is the type to overspend and focus on oneself. Daewon is the kind of guy that can teach her to value herself more.
Hey there! Soooo in love with this fic, first time I've applied to anything in a while. I'm very thankful to my friend, Minyoungie_Lee who pointed this fic out to me! I really focused on the social stigmas that S.K. holds as in the past I really did heavy research on single motherhood there. I also noticed that just about all of the apps had their L.I. be the baby's father, which I found unrealistic. Hope you enjoyed and tell me if I took anything too far in her background and if I have anything to change! Please note that in the interview, she is not quite her typical personality due to pregnancy hormones and stress. After Haeil is born, she really personifies the sweet mother. I will try to come back and take a look at any spelling and/or grammar errors! Not quite sure what happened with the space above the personality traits...I'll see if I can fix it sometime.
SCENE SUGGESTIONS —
• Ice cream party? It's a great way to really let the girls get to know each other!
• Perhaps Joo attended Haeil's birth and that is why he likes her so much.
• TBA!
