Guys, haven't we learned yet? K-Pop idols are not dolls we can play with. They're real human beings with real emotions. We can't keep piling hatred on them simply because they want what everyone wants. They want love, they want companionship. What's wrong with that? 

So can we please stop? I don't want to read about Sungmin and his wife getting a divorce because of us. Or read about Sungmin being the next idol to commit suicide because of our hate. 

I don't want to read about Taeyang and Min Hyorin breaking their engagement, or Taeyang leaving Big Bang. Or, again, Taeyang or even Hyorin killing themself. It needs to stop..

I know that it's not all of us who do it, that it's mainly Korean fans and netizens that pile on the hate. After all, entertainment companies market idols as our boyfriend or girlfriend. But that's simply not true. Sure there could be a few lucky fans that will get the chance to date them but not everyone can. Idols get their love with other idols mainly and that's not a bad thing. Hating on them for loving someone that's not us is wrong and it needs to stop. Hating on them for any reason is wrong. For those suffering from depression, it could be the final step to push them to kill themselves.

I really don't want to wake up to yet another idol trending because of what they did to themself. So, please... Think of what you're doing. Put yourself in that idols shoes, even if it's just to experience all the hate being directed at them. If all our hate has the power to kill someone, what could our love do to them?

All I'm asking is that we think about what we post online before we post it. I wouldn't be surprised if every hurtful thing we say reaches the idol. Maybe not when we post it, but eventually. And don't excuse yourself by thinking, oh, so and so can't read English. Wouldn't surprise me at all if some fan that can read English translates it to Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Thai. If that happens, then yes, the idol will realize how much we hate them.

And I'm sorry for lecturing but the k-pop industry really fuels competition between fandoms and that fuels hate culture. We get too caught up in competition and we start hating any popular idol that isn't our favorite. It has to stop, we can stop it, even if it's just with ourself. Don't post anything that could be hurtful to another fandom. Don't post things that could hurt any idol who happens to read it.
