I looked up to Jonghyun because I was inspired that someone so nice, kind, and famous could care about us; the little people. He advocated for mental health and gave me hope to not give up, to live.

Jonghyun was not only an advocate, but he was an amazing singer as well. I may not have been able to sing as great as you could (my voice would always crack) but I appreciated it.

When he came out with Let Me Out (my ringtone)….it spoke to me on so many levels….that he was hurting too. That he understands. Little did I know that he was going to let himself out….

When I got the news (I was reading a fanfic and it popped across the screen as a promotion), I thought it was a joke, like when people thought Betty White died. Or that it was a different Jonghyun. Unfortunately, it was not.

Today, we lost a star who will no longer shine on Earth, but in heaven. You are truly an angel now. On your stroll around heaven, wear a jacket since it’s cold out….
