STYLE: Somin still has her style she had before going under the knife to improve her looks. It's plain, boring and often about not standing out as much as possible. Plain colors, plain patterns and plain clothes. She mostly wears oversized hoodies, preferably ones that can hide her face when she puts on the hood. Other members often pick out clothes for her when they have to go outside, because she is considered the fashion hole of the group. While other members know perfectly how to bring out her charms, Somin doesn't at all. She even wears fake glasses and mouth masks often, just to hide her face.

Kind, loyal and honest: Somin might be a shy girl, but she's also an absolute sweetheart. Her friends are simply blessed by having her, she'll never lie, stay really loyal to her friends and help them out whenever they need to. She's a really kind person in general and help her friends out when needed. Well, she'll try to be kind to everyone and wants to be friends with everyone too, but her shyness just keeps getting in the way. The staff love her, the fans love her, and her friends love her. She also often helps out the elderly and homeless around town and sing for them.
Patient and humble: this girl will almost never get annoyed, she'll either handle all the struggles calmly and on her own slow pace, or run away from it. She's really patient, with herself, with other people, with basically everything. She has all the time in the world! Why rush and take the risk of messing it up? She's also very humble, whenever you give her compliments, she'll shove the compliment to her friends like 'but he did better than me' or 'she would look way better in this dress than me'. It's just how she is, she stays calm, in such situations at least.
Shy and slow: It's not easy to get close to Somin. Even though you get into her heart easily, she has trouble showing it, because she's really shy. She has a lot of trouble holding a conversation with a stranger, and she'll often get so nervous that she'll just run away. To befriend her, you'll have to do a lot of effort, but also take in consideration that too much will just make her scared. At the entrance ceremony of her middle school, she actually cried because there were too many students around her and she was so afraid. She's also just slow in general, she'll always be the last to understand what's going on, if it's an assignment or a joke, just anything. It's just not easy for her, you know? Her friends have to work their off to make Somin catch up to them, but it's all worth it once they get drowned in love and appreciation when they manage to do so.
Socially awkward and anxious: Somin used to be quite the ugly girl, and even though the magical knife has fixed it now, she still sees her ugly self every time she looks in the mirror, and inside, she's still that ugly girl, who has a great body, but a face that simply ruins it. Well, it was not THAT bad, she wasn't horrendous, but she was still not fit to be idol at all. She did gain a bit of confidence after seeing her improved face, but the effect slowly faded away, and even though she is praised and gets chances now, she still feels just as insecure and anxious for her appearance. She always has to take 5 minutes at least to feel at ease on a variety show, but her members usually make her feel at ease. When Lex and Euijin left Woollim, Somin fell into a void, but gladly Sangmi was able to pull her out. Even now in 4xU as visual, Somin still has a hard time, and she still has a hard time conversating with strangers, because she is always worried about her image and impression. What do they think of her? That's a question that is constantly spooking through her brain.
Cowardly: this goes hand in hand with her shyness, she's startled and distracted so easily, and the smallest creepy things will make her stay up all night, because she's afraid of getting nightmares too. She's scared of everything and nothing, well, she has no terrible fears, but she just gets started so easily. Jumpscares are her ultimate nightmare, and don't show her horror movies or she won't sleep for a week no matter how bad and obvious they are. Even when you just poke her from the back she might start to cry from the shock. It's really crazy, and the only one who ever properly knew how to deal with all her outbursts was Lex, but now he's not around for that much anymore.

BACKGROUND: Somin was born in an extremely wealthy family of music fanatics, her parents had both made a career in classical music, and it was the first thing she heard when she was born, just like her two older brothers. Classical music was fed with huge tablespoons in their mansion, and people around called it the music mansion, located on the outlines of Detroit. But their parents weren't really happy with their mansion anymore, and when Somin was 9, they decided to make the big move to Korea, moving to a penthouse in Seoul. Somin really enjoyed herself in that house, and praised herself lucky to be part of such an awesome family, even though her parents were often away from home and the nanny had to raise her. Her parents were rarely seen on school activities and all, and that made other children take their distance from her, because she was 'parentless'. Somin grew afraid, because she felt different from other people, and looked different as well, and distanced herself from other kids too, because they were either avoiding or mocking her. She had a friend in music, that's what she said herself, but no one of her class took that. The singing fanatic who was singing all the time grew afraid of showing her skills and the thing she loved the most to others.
Because she didn't dare to practice vocals anymore, Somin got behind on other people who kept practicing all the time. But when she was 14, in 2007, she went to an open audition in a whim. She didn't get accepted, but the tingles were there, the urge to become idol and show other people how she feels and prove herself... It was so strong. She didn't look like an idol at all and wasn't even pretty, but since she came from a family of famous classical musicians and had an incredible stage presence, Somin got accepted in Woollim after her audition. She worked very hard and because of her connections, Woollim kind of favored her over some other trainees. But when they decided to debut Farietale, Somin couldn't debut with them. She wasn't ready, and her face wasn't either... Somin was disappointed at first, but could understand Woollim's reasons and decided to distract herself by training even harder, but the anxiety was always luring in the back. She wasn't fit to be idol, she was shy. Okay, being shy is still fine, people might find it cute, but her face was the big problem, and Somin knew that herself. As soon as she turned 19, in 2012, she went to the CEO of Woollim and asked if she could consult a plastic surgeon. The CEO agreed and praised her for her thoughtfulness (which was really painful, yet assuring for Somin), and she went to the surgeon with a small heart. Somin expected that her whole face would have to be fixed, but the surgeon had other ideas. Everything was perfectly fine, except for her eyes, those were the culprits. Somin decided that she wanted to do it. She was always fine with plastic surgery and didn't see it as a bad thing, because it could be able to make her feel better. Yes, it did make her feel better, but the anxiety stayed forever. She did get more attention from people, but because she's so shy, it made her even more anxious, but she never regretted the decision, because her chances to debut finally came.
After 3 years of working hard and waiting, Woollim decided to gather three leftover trainees with potential. Somin, Lex and another boy. They were going to be a new project group, and if they did well, their chances to a real debut would be guaranteed. They were totally in for it, but after a few months of preparation, the third trainee just suddenly disappeared, leaving a text for Somin that he was going to leave Woollim. The company didn't wait and went to look for a quick replacement outside of the company and they ran into Euijin, who had just left A.cian, and they smoothly came to an agreement. Euijin had wanted to be a normal person when he left A.cian, but he had quickly grown bored of it, so this was a win-win for both Euijin and Woollim. And so, Forti was born. Short for Fortissimo, Italian for very strong, used in classical music a lot. It was a suggestion by Somin, and Woollim decided to go with it. Everyone was happy when Somin finally debuted, well, almost everyone... One girl of 4xU had never liked that ugly duckling, and she had always said that Somin would never be able to debut, even with that new 'mask' she was wearing.
TRAINEE LIFE:

She wasn't a popular girl at all. Firstly, she got in because of connections and stage presence, secondly, she was ugly. Most of the girls that did like her were members of Farietale, people she had to say goodbye to after just a single year. Well, not really goodbye but she couldn't be with them anymore. She started to train on her own, and it is pretty much the only thing she did except for studying. She did improve lots, but just never got to showcase it very well because of her looks. She was on her own, until a male trainee joined in 2011, Jeon "Call me Lex" Hyungmin. A calm, yet cheerful boy who really gave Somin all the space to get used to him around, and didn't judge her for her looks, but looked at her heart instead. He disagreed with the plastic surgery at first, but realised that it would make Somin happier, so he decided to support her. In 2012, Somin got the surgery. Preparations for 4xU were being made simultaniously as the preparations for Forti. Since they weren't planning to debut Somin with 4xU because she wasn't young and fresh like the three new members, they picked her up for the leftover group, Forti, which could disband at any moment and had no real contract. Forti actually debuted earlier than 4xU, but their activities stopped in the same year already, and Somin fell into a deep void. She was so happy to be on stage, but it ended so quickly... Sangmi and Naeun tried their best to pull Somin out, along with her brothers, Lex and Euijin. But there was another girl trying to push her down as well, Venus. "You'll never get your chance..." "You're unskilled and ugly... give it up already..."
Somin was about to give up, in fact, when Tina suddenly left 4xU. Somin didn't expect anything to come, but Woollim needed a new visual and lead dancer. And there was only one girl fit for that role in their company, a girl that was free, cute, lovable and waiting loyally for her opportunity. The moment when they said the words: "Somin, you'll be added to 4xU to replace Tina." She went crazy of joy, she had never felt so happy to finally properly debut. Woollim assured her that if they got the chance, they would revive Forti, because extra money could always be useful, but for now she had to concentrate on 4xU, and in just a few weeks, Somin got hurriedly prepared for her addition to the group. She wanted a stagename, because Somin was a pretty common name after all, and Chase came up with a creative idea. Somin's stage name had to mean victorious, because after 10 years of hard work, Somin had risen victorious. Together with Sangmi and Naeun, they looked for names in several languages, and one stood out for them. The Arabic name for victorious, Fayza. It's finally time for Somin to shine properly.
FAMILY:
Ryu Hojin and Lee Sehyun / parents / 54 / professional conductor and violinist / sweet, optimistic, creative, hot-headed, stubborn / alive / both of her parents are very alike, and have almost the same interests and personality, a perfect couple. They aren't around a lot, and Somin and her brothers never saw them much, but they still loved their children a lot and were very close to them. They support their children no matter what and are very excited to see their middle child step into their footsteps to become an artist.
Ryu Changmin / older brother / 28 / bartender / friendly, open-minded, lazy, envious / alive as hell / Changmin was stuck for so long in college that he got tired of it and went to become a bartender instead, because he didn't really like the stressful life and wanted to just have a good and relaxing life. He really cares for Somin a lot and protects her as much as possible. He looked for a job in a bar close to Woollim entertainment on purpose so he could easily go to her when something was wrong, or just for a check-up or if he wanted to see his precious sister. He babies her so much that Somin often gets annoyed because of it.
Ryu Gwangmin / younger brother / 20 / college student / mischievious, clever, quick-witted, stubborn, hot-headed / alive, but dying at college / Gwangmin is Somin's mischievious and annoying little brother. He just lives to and honorifics do not exist in his life. He has the same temper as his parents and that often makes him collide with his siblings, but he actually cares for them and can't live without them, even if he doesn't always show it as much. He's really proud of his big sister now that she's finally debuting, and is secretly her biggest fan, always monitoring her on broadcast.
FRIENDS:
Shin Bohee / best friend / 23 / writer / cheerful, open-minded, pessimistic, possessive / alive / Shin bohee is Somin's best friend, and has been for ages already, even before Somin joined Woollim. They still try to hang out as much as possible, but it is quite hard now, so when they see each other they simply fly into each other's arms. They keep no secret from each other and Bohee has always been around to support Somin when she had a hard time, and the other way round as well. Bohee is extremely possessive over Somin and when she's around, no one else can have skinship with her. Bohee is actually biual and has been crushing on Somin for a few years now. Somin did have butterflies for her as well, until Lex came around. Sadly, Bohee didn't realise her feelings for Somin yet when Somin actually had feelings for her. When Bohee realised she was bi, it was already too late and Lex had stolen Somin's heart. They often cosplay together and because of those duo cosplays and Bohee's rising fame as author, she's gaining a fanbase as well.
Lee Ui Jin / groupmate in Forti, professional third wheel / 27 / member of Forti and Bigflo / optimistic, sociable, indecisive, aimless / alive / Euijin was the last-minute addition to Forti, but Somin and Lex actually liked him way more than the original member. He was happy and sociable, but not annoyingly happy, like some people are. He didn't know what to do a lot of the time though, he never had a real position and after leaving A.cian he didn't really know what to do, but he has now found his place in Forti and Bigflo. He loves to tease Somin and Lex, and really doesn't mind being the third wheel of Forti, no, he actually loves to laugh about it.
Farietale members / friends / varies / members of 4xU / varies / alive (at least I hope so) / Somin had befriended all of the Farietale members except for Venus. They were very nice to Somin and gave her her space to actually open up to them, expecting her to debut with them when she was a young teen, and they have teached her a lot. When Somin wasn't with farietale, Sangmi, Naeun, Tina and Chase were disappointed, because they liked Somin around. Somin was, and still is their little baby, and even though their friendship has decayed over the years and it's a bit awkward now, the three members welcomed Somin to 4xU with open arms and Tina has also sent her support to her 'replacement'.

newer members of 4xU / neutral / varies / members of 4xU / varies / alive / After Farietale debuted, Somin was isolated from other trainees, and the only one who could pretty much get close to her was Lex, so she never knew more about Clara, JJ and Sophie than their names. She didn't have time to develop a grudge against them for debuting with 4xU while she didn't, because she was busy with Forti. Somin is still neutral about them and hopes that they will like her. She's very anxious about how they will react to her joining the group. How Clara, JJ and Sophie feel about her is unknown (that means that the author and creators of JJ and Sophie can decide on that)
Venus / they do not get along / 21 / member of 4xU / see her profile/app / alive / Strange, while Somin got along with all the other members (except for Gigi, who she never got to know properly), she never got along with Venus. Somin never understood why, but Venus always saw her as inferior. She was always the one trying to bring Somin down, but now that Somin is joining her group, they will either talk it out, get awkward with each other or simply just ignore each other... or 's gonna go down. Somin is always open to talk it out though, and still cares about Venus. It makes her sad that they were never able to get along.

HISTORY:
november 2015, Lo.J leaves A.cian/Forti assembles
While Lex and Somin were both leftover Woollim trainees, together with an unknown third person, Euijin was leader of the group A.cian. Woollim was planning to debut the leftover trainees in a new co-ed trio, Forti, for a long time already, and they had already a few pre-debut appearances. They were going to be a project group, so they weren't bound to last long, but just to create buzz, and maybe they could use the members later in other groups to create more buzz to them. Forti was basically made to try out what was possible with co-ed groups, since a lot of fans and netizens were wishing there could be more of them. Right when they were going to debut, the third trainee decided to step out of the project and simply went MIA. Woollim didn't want to wait for him and needed a quick replacement that already had experience. Not so long after Euijin left A.cian, Woollim contacted him, and he agreed to be in the project group, thinking it would be exciting to try out new things.
February 2016, Forti debuts with Play with me
The debut was delayed for about two months, but it worked out really well. Euijin, Lex and Somin had great chemistry on stage and they were quite loved. They weren't super popular, but more like the Pentagon level of popular. Woollim was pretty happy with it and promised the three members that there would be more to come, since Play with me was just a single with two songs, and all three members were longing to be on stage more. While the general public still doubted them, their fanbase was already pretty solid and loyal. Their fanbase also spread internationally, because they had a music style that appeals a lot to international kpop fans. Forti lived up to it's name, strong.
July 2016, first mini album: Psychotic love
This mini album was a bullseye, even though it was a change of their style. This time the concept was less strong and more y. The album was sold very well and a lot of people praised the group and Woollim for the amazing album design, styling and overall performance and music. All three of the members weren't really exceptionally strong, but the song choice was able to completely hide that fact and bring out their full potential. People could also easily see how much these three loved to be on stage, and to be together. Everyone could easily see that they had become the bestest of friends, and many fans hoped they would never separate, even though it could happen at any time.
September 2016, disagreements with Woollim
After promotions for What am I to you had ended, things started to go downhill for Forti, at a rapid pace. Somin was fine with any concept Woollim told them to do, but Euijin and Lex didn't. When Woollim proposed their new concept, Lex and Euijin didn't approve and refused to participate. Both sides handled the dispute really well and after a few weeks of proposes and discussion, Euijin and Lex decided to part ways with Woollim, but still on pretty good terms, leaving Somin behind. They had agreed that there would never be any statement about Forti's disbandment, and that if Euijin and Lex joined a new group and their company agreed, that there could be a possible Forti reunion when they had the chance. The fans were left wondering when Forti would return, it could happen, but no one knows when, or if it ever will.
Early 2017 - now, All Forti's members joining new groups
When Bigflo shared their new line-up, the fandom was shook. Lex? and Euijin as well? The kpop world was really shook, since they thought Forti could return at any time. The fans were really upset, but what they didn't know is that Forti is still half alive, it really depends on the fact that both companies could come to an agreement to revive the project group. Somin was left behind again, as trainee, now the longest Woollim trainee of all. Until Tina left the group 4xU, and Woollim decided that it would be best to add Somin, because the fans had been begging, even protesting, that they would let Somin out of the dungeon. She took on the stagename Fayza and became the new visual of 4xU, finally, Somin could properly debut as well. It created a lot of buzz for 4xU and it eventually became an advantage for the group. Even though they have split now, fans still keep hoping for a reunion, and the members themselves as well.

PERSONALITY: Lex is a very nice man, a friendly, talkative and happy one. He's really thoughtful, always giving people their own needed space, he is dubbed the shy person whisperer, because no matter how socially awkward or shy they are, they are always able to open up to Lex. He is a bit awkward himself actually, well, make that a lot. He might not be socially awkward, but he sometimes has those weird, unpredictable comments that makes the conversation awkward. He feels second hand embarassment at pretty much anything he does and then he'll just laugh it off, a very cute and goofy laugh which Somin loves to hear. He might be friendly and talkative, but he's not all that happy. Lex is usually cool and relaxed, but gets stressed easily, and once he gets stressed, it's bad... He becomes a huge clumsy, brabbling mess and there is no way to stop him. he's also very impulsive and doesn't overthink important decisions much, which sometimes results in him making the wrong decisions. He's also very stubborn and always feels like his idea is the best, even if it's not always the case. He just can't accept doing a concept he isn't for himself and that caused all the struggles with Woollim. After those disagreements, Lex matured and realised that he had to tone himself down, but sometimes he just still can't agree. What especially causes fireworks around Somin is that Lex is just as possessive as Bohee, and both want Somin. They have fought a few times before, like the fights that go 'she's mine!' 'no, she's mine!' and so on, for ages. Until Somin can't handle it anymore, and then they both get apologetic and become buddies again. Once Lex is with Somin, he has two moods: the awkward, super in love adorable boy, or the angry lion who watches over his lady. Don't dare to touch, court or harm Somin when he's in his angry lion mood, it won't be your best day... Somin is HIS lady, and NO ONE can have her except for him. Remember that.
RELATIONSHIP: Somin and Lex are very sweet together, the American and Canadian, who somehow both ended up becoming an idol in Korea. Lex sometimes can be way too cheesy, making everyone, including Somin, cringe. He always has a new pick-up line ready for Somin, and when it works, she'll love it, but when it doesn't work, she will hit him instead, gently. They used to live together and be together 24/7 as Forti, but now that they are separated, their relationship has actually grown, even though they're not even dating yet. The longing to be together became stronger, and when they are actually together, they are happier than before. Lex knows everything about Somin and will always perfectly know how she'll feel and react and what she'll say, except for one thing: he doesn't know that she's biual. Yet. He has known her since pre-plastic surgery, so he knows how she used to look like and is completely fine with it. While Somin is just happy that Lex can be with her and likes her, Lex is worried about Somin all the time, knowing how fragile she is, he's always protecting her and looking out for her, and is very possessive as well. He's really the type of manly yet cute boyfriend, even though they aren't even dating yet. Another cute thing about them (according to their friends) is that they look like opposites. Somin looks like a doll, a sweet, soft doll, while Lex looks very sharp and manly, with his broad build and sharp features, he sometimes looks like he came straight out of a gang or the mafia. Friends of them (especially Euijin and the Farietale members) love to poke fun at them for looking like that.
