the question is, why would you want to know about the kid who sits in the corner by himself? park jongyul is an eighteen year old third year, born on the 19th of june. he's fairly tall at the height of 185 centimetres but apparently his weight fluxuates often so he barely checks anymore, last he checked it was 77kg. people usually say that he looks a lot like day6's jae, on some occassions golden child's daeyeol. jongyul frequently bleaches his normal black hair to blonde and sometimes rosegold for no apparent reason, even if he gets scolded for it, and is never seen without his thin circle glasses.
jongyul is a born and bred seoul child. his only language is korean, although he does speak some popular english phrases in broken english. since jongyul is quite unsociable and doesn't have many friends, he doesn't have many nicknames. in his grade he's known as the 'corner boy' as he's always spotted in the corner, anywhere, any time. another nickname that's less frequently used is the name 'chicken little' as he resembles the chicken a lot. 'jonggi' and 'sax guy' are also nicknames he is addressed by.
chicken little's personality is a tad bland. he's quiet, conservative and is always calm. jongyul does tend to get snarky when someone tries to talk to him and gets even more sarcastic and blunt if they dare to continue to talk. even with the cold attitude, jongyul is intellectual and the smartest in the class. he has a knack for improvising and adapting on the fly which always seemed better than the original plan.

it's a bit of a stretch but i think the whole adventure is like a search for happiness. it's mysterious and you're never going to find out what's gonna happen next. it's nostalgic and melancholic in a sense as to find happiness you'd have to find yourself.

jongyul's life is all in all an average one. nothing to him stands out. he was tutored since young which led him to have his smarts and grew to love jazz music which led him to play the saxophone but that's all to it. perhaps winning some awards throughout the way but those don't matter to jongyul. so when he got accepted into daeryang high, it was like a small stepping stone for him. new setting but nothing changed. to say the least, jongyul tried to fit in. bleached his hair to fit aesthetic trends but it didn't even garner any attention apart from the school's office. he kept it, jongyul wouldn't admit it but the blonde looked nice on him. and that's it. jongyul's life.
now jongyul lives in a nice spacy apartment with his dad as his mother works elsewhere, who knows? he leaves the apartment to the secluded bus stop with the small group and heads to school with his saxophone case in hand. he practices during his lunch when he's not in the corner revising notes casually. then goes to the jazz band which the school had set up and leaves nochalantly. goes back home, eats dinner, studies, goes to sleep. absolutely a bore.
kwon sangil to jongyul was the closest he ever had to a friend. they're classmates and they sit next to each other in a comfortable silence. it may seem a little unnerving to some but the fact that someone's willing to sit next to him and respect the value of silence and space in a relationship made the silent friendship blossom. so when jongyul arrived at the bus stop and counted the heads of the people there, noticing one missing, he had a gut-wrenching feeling when he couldn't spot sangil. he doesn't propose the hunt for the missing boy but he does hint it until someone picks it up and asks to search for him.
as plain as his personality and history was, jongyul's trivia is similar. his likes are literature, jazz music, silence, art and storms while his dislikes are loud music, bratty or idiotic people, sweet foods, school and insects. he has a cat, as featured on his instagram, named whiplash. it is named after his favourite jazz song. jongyul always has the newest iphone - he isn't that rich, his phone plan allows him to get the newest model and that's it. he always buys hardcover books as it's better for him to hold and doesn't bend like paperback. his fashion sense is just the plain ol' 'find anything in the closet that doesn't smell' style. doesn't wear contacts because he has an acute reaction when wearing them.
