— alert :: yu-soul is a very detail-oriented person; along with being very observant, she jumps into action when somebody or something seems to be unusual. she's normally somebody whom you can count on to solve just about any problem you come across.

 

for example, if a team member is struggling, she has such a
quick mind that she will cover them almost instantaneously.

— benevolent :: she doesn't like leaving anybody hanging; she's determined to keep everybody around her going. often times, she's dubbed as "the life of the party", but she's aware that even that has it's limits. not everybody or everything can be fixed, but she won't give up without a fight.

 

"nobody gets left behind, or forgotten."

 

— charismatic :: her goal is to spread her enlightenment (or happiness), onto those who look at her. in order to do so, she becomes humble; she enhances both her strengths and flaws. everybody is different, and in order to connect to her fans, she keeps that humanity with her; she doesn't let the fame get to her. if she can make connections with people for being herself, then who is she to hide even the bad parts of herself? it's that kind of quality that gives her such an enormous stage presence.

— perfectionist :: when it comes down to things she's passionate about; yu-soul puts her all into it. she works long and hard, sometimes to a point where she needs to be told to stop, but she'll never give up on it until it's perfection.

not worthy to be shown to anybody else."

 

— courageous :: although nobody might be expecting it, yu-soul can do the craziest things. she thinks of life as, "too short" and at any point that "it can be taken from you". yu-soul doesn't like wasting time thinking about the what-if's. if she's capable of doing something, she will go out and do it. if she feels any fear or hesitation, it fuels her to try harder to do something; she hates looking back on things and thinking "what if...?", it eats her alive.

— liberal :: yu-soul's never been close minded; and this fact alone has gotten her into trouble  many times before. her parents had always expected a certain thing from her, but she never cared about it much so long as she did what made her happy. she thrives when she can see other peoples perspectives and craves to learn more; from opinions to lifestyles, always.

— disorganized :: because she's so prim looking, nobody ever expects for her to be the way she is when it comes to organization and cleanliness. she may as well be the messiest member. when asked where something is, its quite easy for her to say that she has no idea.

— anxious :: yu-soul has always had a history of anxiety; some days its worse, and other days not so much . she's great at talking to people and being in a crowd, but when it comes down to situations that go out of her control, she finds herself with the lack of breath or in a dark room, confined to her bed. there are few people who can actually calm her down, and that's her close friends, or significant other.

— blunt :: yu-soul was born with a sharp tongue, and this is pretty much the only thing that stuck with her throughout most of her life. she doesn't like to tell lies, and even wishes that people would tell her how it is when she needed to hear it, so that's what she aspires to do for other people, even if she comes off as a b*tchy or jerk-ish, she knows that she's done the right thing. Sometimes it will catch peopple off-guard, because she appears as a sweet tulip, but is actually a venus fly trap. watch out!

— boisterous :: yu-soul is known to be very energetic and lively. comforting to most, but annoying and unbelievable to those (anti's) who believe she can't be like that ALL the time. In a way, becoming an idol, is a lot of work, so by the time she gets back home, or has time off, she's completely pooped.

— clumsy :: as expected from somebody who's unorganized; she easily trips over things in her corner of the room, and manages to topple over things that aren't even there. its questionable on how she isn't in a hospital for life. Sometimes yu-soul will trip in public and she'll play it off as cool, or like it never happend; with so much or a tilt of her sunglasses or flip of her hair.

— fiery :: yu-soul isn't one to get angry easily, however, say something about her close friends, family or anybody she cares about in general and you will have started an untameable fire. she sticks up for what she belives in, and helps others with their own conquests.

— this story goes back way before me.

july 1993. misung lim attended university away from her parents for the first time. at this point, she was wild and adventurous; not so much dedicated to her line of field in the slightest. she wanted to experience it all (being a university student); it wasn't at all surprising that she'd found several lovers within her first year of univeristy either. And by the middle of her second year, she was threatened to be taken out of the medical program. That's when she really had to put her life back into order. She never thought she'd want the program more than when she was threatened to be removed from it. She promised to do better, and she did. The way she excelled with boys; she re-routed her brain to think for her classes, and she quickly excelled in her studies. There was no way she could erase her past in university, but she could definitely re-write people's view on her. And despite the oncoming struggle, she pushed through. She couldn't keep her eyes off of her weakness though; a man she'd never considered before. She tried to keep her mind off him, she tried to keep her new image alive, but the second he showed the slightest interest, she had to do something about it. She was addicted to infatuation, and she wasn't letting this one go. lim misung wound up pregnant at age twenty-two, and gave birth several weeks following her graduation. it was a baby girl, whom would take the name lim haewon in honor of her father song haeseul although haewon stayed with her mothers surname. misung was ashamed to have had an illigitamate daughter; so she kept her from the world and continued to pursue her education. haewon was put into the care of her nanna ji (her maternal grandmother). for most of haewoo's life, nanna ji raised her to be the perfect woman, who faught for herself and herself alone. she was the complete opposite of misung, and misung hated it. misung was envious; she wished she was like her daughter, but she'd never admit it. nanna ji, yet again, wasn't surprised to see misung with another boy only two years after the birth of her daughter. when introducing namsae, she had said that haewon was merely a charity case. nanna ji didn't like that one bit and, in front of her date, lectured her about her failure as a parent. 

"you call yourself a mother? you are no mother, you should be ashamed of yourself misung. if this was going to be your move all along, you should have gotten rid of your daughter when you had the chance. no mother calls their child a charity case. you were the one who decided to keep her, so you better shift your into gear and start being a mother to your only daughter or get the hell out of my house where the only place we'll be seeing you is in court in a few weeks." 

misung left the next day, and nanna ji gained custody over haewon several weeks later since misung didn't show up to court at all. haewon had heard the entire conversation though. her demeanor in life changed entirely, and at only two years old, she made it her goal to be somebody her mother envied more than anything; to make her regret doing what she's done. 

A year later, they received a letter in the mail for an invitation to a wedding. "You are coordially invited to celebrate the wedding of yoo namsae and lim misung on October 28." The nerve of this woman. Nanna Ji and Haewon attended the wedding only to se if 1) misung was really in love with this guy, and 2) To voice their thoughts when the minister said "if anybody should not wish these two to be married, then speak now...". Nanna Ji and Haewon didn't know much about Namsae, so when the two got married, they didn't wish to know him because of how sour misung was after the ceremony. They went directly home where Haewon remembers her Nanna saying she was ashamed to call misung her daughter. Yet, Haewon was ashamed to call Misung her mother too. 

— here's where i come into the mix.
Misung had been married to Namsae for half a year, by the time she found out she was pregnant. Hopefully this time it'd be better. Maybe she wouldn't be ashamed of this one. On December 24, Yoo Misoul was born. She was beautiful, and everything Namsae had dreamed of. However, Misung felt nothing toward this child, despite being semi-excited for her arrival. Truth be told, she just wasn't git to be a mother. The days following their release from the hospital changed everything. Misung refused to be near her daughter and it caused various heated arguements with the newly-wed couple. Namsae couldn't belive the monster he married. He reached out to Nanna Ji, where she offered that he come see her. When he did, Haewon was excited to know that they weren't the only ones who felt disgusted over Misung's behavior. She was eager to meet her baby sister, beit only if she was her half-sister. Namsae voiced his opinion, stating that he would not leave Misung for he sake of Misoul, but it would be hard. Nanna Ji offered to nurse Misoul, but Namsae didn't want to spend any time away from Misoul. The other option was for Namsae to move in with her and Haewon, and tell Misung that since she didn't like the idea of Misoul, that he'd move away from her, not strings attatched; just until she was onld enough to partially take care of herself. They all knew Misung wouldn't buy it, but when he went back and voiced his opinnions to Misung, she agreed with the condition of being free to do and see who she wanted. Their seperation would act as a split between them. Being head over heels with his daughter, he agreed; but there wasn't a doubt that he was heart-broken to hear the words from his spouse's mouth because he'd been in love with her too. Eventually, Misung stopped seeing Namsae, and Namsae needed to provide for the family he had moved in with. He started working again, assured that Nanna Ji would watch over the kids, and he even took Haewon under his wing as his own as well.

Growing up, Yu-Soul took no interest in wanting to know her mother. To her, Nanna Ji was her mother and grandmother, while Namsae was her father and Haewon was her sister. She didn't care about how people saw their family, only that she was happy and content with the life she lived. They also found out that at age five, Yu-Soul had quite the knack for singing and performing. Nanna Ji signed her up for dance classes, and by the time she turned six, they entered her into a local beauty pageant where she made it to third place; which wasn't bad for a first time entrance. She had won judges over with her talent which had been a musical tap dancing skit. Her beauty pageant appearances didn't end there, she continued until she was twelve years old. Her new dream was to become an idol. She was inspired by seeing her sisters career lift of that she wanted to do the same.

ever since she was born, misung never spent enough time with yu-soul. insted, she went back to work. she had been dissapointed with everything in her life, and found a resolve in working. it was pretty much the only thing she loved. namsae wihses he'd not even made a family if misung wasn't going to take responsibility for their children. so to put it frankly, yu-soul doesn't know her mother, nor do they share things with each other.

TRAINEE LIFE

— yu-soul was about to turn thirteen when she got signed as a trainee. she had a very tough time transitioning into a trainee because she had always been used to training at her own time and at her own pace; now, she had a schedule, and she was forced to train for longer hours, often making her weak and exhausted. yu-soul collapsed about three times total throughout her trainee life, but she pushed herself to do it, because with each passing day her body grew more conditioned to do it, and everything came easier to her as the time passed. she was the type of person who learned off of others and exchanged her ethics to help or aid others. she made a handful of friend and kept contact with them even if they decided the path wasn't for them or if they moved companies.
