Is this normal the days?

Ok, So I found a new writer like 2 weeks ago (not gonna name her or anything) and after reading her story I left a nice comment about the story and her writing. Since the story was completed and on subscribers only I unsubscribed after that. It's something I have been doing for years because I don't see why it matters if the only thing that is ever gonna be added is a commercial for a new story.

Now this author kind off 'attacked' me saying that I must have not loved the story since I unsubscribed and she doesn't like that behaviour. So I explained myself telling that it's something I usually do so I don't get any false hope for new chapters of stories while it's just an author note for a completed story. She said she understood that and our talk ended very normal (at least that's what I thought)

Now I ended up readin another story of her and commented again. It was a completed one shot so I did unsubcribe like I always do. Now today I wanted to click onto another story of her that I saved to read later and I suddenly got an error page. I googled her on an invisible page so my account wouldn't be logged on and I could suddenly see everything again. Making me believe that she ended up blocking me.

Now I have not said one bad thing about her stories or her writing. Is it normal to be blocked by people these days just because you don't want your notifications to go off for finished stories ??

Because I honestly have never seen this kind of behaviour before so I'm kinda shocked she actually did something like that.

I was browsing through AFF and I found this blog post. It’s been months since you posted but I see that nobody answers your question yet, so I’m going to answer it with my opinion. Yes, it’s normal to be blocked by authors because of things like that.
I’ve learned that there are authors who block those readers who “unsubscribe after finished reading” or “readers who don’t comment after reading” or “comment without subscribing” even “readers who don’t upvote”, it all depends on the author’s preference. I myself have been blocked by an author for not commenting on a story after subscribing (even though I subscribed to read later, so they blocked me before I got the chance to read). I can’t complain though, authors have full rights since they’re the ones working hard for their stories. Unfair it might be, but well, we are the readers, we enjoy their hardwork.
For some authors, staying subscribed is the most basic respect a reader can give to an author so maybe she’s like that? Or maybe she knows you stay subscribed to some completed stories but not hers so she’s upset about it? The only way to know is to ask directly.
