positive and cheerful: Jaedeok is a very happy person in nature, won't let the worries get to him, won't let the haters bring him down. He's the mood maker of the group who always shouts motivational words and believes in his groupmates. When he's not smiling, you can be sure that something's seriously wrong, because in his life, everything's about the pluses. he's usually so happy that it looks like he's beaming, sending out sunrays that are filled with jaedeok's own happy virus.

Clever and hard-working: jaedeok is a model student, not only happy all the time, but also having great grades. He's a clever boy who learns anything fast and is great at connecting things together and figuring it out, he's a riddle genius, and is also really good at memorising and strategic boardgames like 4 in a row. no one in the group can beat him at that, and he'll outsmart everyone in such games. it is his main talent on variety shows actually. but it's not like he doesn't put effort into anything because he's naturally gifted with the brains. He does his best with anything, even when he doesn't like it, and is very hard-working to reach his goals.

kind but selfish: jaedeok is not only happy and positive, but also very kind to others, he'll always try to help out and make them happy through various things like doing favors or just having a nice chat. friends often praise him because of his kindness, but don't be fooled. yes, he is very kind, but he's a selfish guy in the core. no, he would not let someone die if saving him would bring his own life in danger, no, but it is very obvious in the smaller things. He'll always take the biggest piece of the pizza, the last cookie without even asking, try to queue before others in sneaky ways and take advantage of people if it brings advantage to him. others often have to scold him for that, but he will keep doing it, it is something that's been hidden in him for years, and he puts himself first because he's afraid that he'll be in the shadows again.

Emotional and insecure: behind that cool happy man, hides a young boy who is fragile and very insecure about himself. He is constantly worrying about himself being good enough and such things. He never had to worry before because of his position as second place, but now that moonbyul isn't there to hold his hand and lead him, jaedeok feels very vulnerable. That made him not able to hide his emotions very well, especially sadness and disgust. He shows it very easily, even in front of the camera. For example when The song they are performing is very moving, he might cry.

Private: Even though he's a very kind man, jaedeok doesn't quickly reveal stuff about himself. He's a closed book that's very hard to be opened, only once you've gotten his trust, he'll actually tell or show you things that he considers precious to himself. He might be very open with showing his emotions, but that doesn't mean he's an extravert.

Cowardly and squeamish: This... is... terrible. Jaedeok seems to be scared of anything. He actually isn't, he's just so easily startled or disgusted by something that he just completely freaks out. Anything slimey and gooey makes him nauseous, and he absolutely hates being dirty. Not to kazu's extent but still, he'd rather be very clean, so them sharing a room in the dorm would be ideal, it would be spotless. He freaks out at things like touching wet food leftovers while doing dishes and seeing a snail or worm, and whenever he has to do something he doesn't dare to do, he just completely stops, refusing like a little child, to the point that groupmates have to drag him along.

impulsive: this side is pretty unexpected from the squeamish and cowardly jaedeok, but once he is actually not scared or disgusted, and he's 100% for the plan, he'll throw himself into it without overthinking the consequences, often taking risky moves because he just wants to do it as fast as possible and get it over with.

background: jaedeok was born as the second and final child of a family, growing up pretty much being protected by his sister, moon byul yi, a talented, happy and friendly girl. She was always the family's favourite. Jaedeok was talented, happy and friendly as well, so why was he always second place? it was obvious even to strangers that their parents preferred his older sister. the only one that actually put jaedeok first in the family was the sister herself, always holding his hands and teaching him what she learned herself so they could be on equal foot. At school, jaedeok worked really hard, but he was also naturally clever with a high iq, but not exceptionally high. It is expected to be around 126. even at school, he was second place, all the time in his class. Over the years, the first place changed quite some time, but if first place got beaten by a new one, they were always beaten by jaedeok as well. He was always second, every year, always just a few points behind first place, it was like he was cursed. but jaedeok always finished first in anything related to language, because he enjoyed doing that so much. Only the last year of high school, he finished first, and the taste of victory? it was amazing.

by being second place all the time, jaedeok developed a selfish mentality. He had to stop giving, start taking, and maybe then he'd be first. That's what he thought. he remained friendly and kind, but he wanted to get the advantage by keeping resources to himself. He started to put himself first, for example only being happy for someone else when he could be happy for himself as well. his sister advised against that, but jaedeok knew better, that he should let go of her hand and get to the top by himself, not taking anything for granted. When he was a little child, he always wanted to join the same company as his big sister, but once he started growing older, he definitely wanted a different company than her. So when he finished high school when he was 18, he went to jellyfish entertainment with newly found courage because of his first place in the ending exams. Now, two years later, he'll debut, but guess what's waiting for him? second place.

- han sanghyuk / 22 / a good sunbae of jaedeok that he likes a lot, in a short time, they became very close, getting along very well and loving to joke around. when jaedeok had a hard time and moonbyul couldn't be around, hyuk would get a call from her, asking him to take over and take care of her baby oo. hyuk often calls jaedeok little punk, because he forgets that he has to talk to hyuk formally. (if ruiwen gets accepted, jaedeok will tease hyuk a lot about him, knowing everything that's going on.)

- murakami yoshie / 19 / a little cutie that jaedeok adores a lot. they immediately got along because of their common love for gaming. they are the geeks of the company, always talking about games and such, and they are the best gamers as well. Yosh is better than Jaedeok at most of the games, except for overwatch, then they are on equal foot and an amazing team. They really have different playstyles in many of the games, while yosh just barges in with crazy powerful plays, jaedeok is the type of silent killer who prefers to keep his distance, so snipers are really his thing. They also joined Jellyfish at the same time.

family:

- moon byul yi / 24 / jaedeok's big sister, the one who was always ahead of him and favourited. Despite all that, they really care for each other and byulyi has teached jaedeok so much in his younger life, trying to get him on an equal foot with her, holding his hand while growing up. Now that they are separated, they miss each other a lot. They really look alike. They also have matching pajama's to remember each other every day.

personality:
wheein is a total sweetheart, fun-loving girl who doesn't care about her image, loving to just be her dorky self on and off screen. She is always smiling, just like jaedeok, and loves to make other people smile as well. She doesn't let haters bring her down, and even though she's short, she just laughs it away while taking advantage of her height. She is quite blunt though, and often says things she actually doesn't mean to say, blurting out possibly rude words and then realising what she said, feeling apologetic. She says it a lot that she should overthink her words more, but she just has no time for that and forgets about it anyway. she's also way too noisy, making others have a headache sometimes just with her loud chatter. she's also very stubborn, and that often collides with jaedeok, causing a stir.

how they met:
it's quite obvious how they met, since wheein is the groupmate of jaedeok's sister. They already met back when Jaedeok was a non-trainee and a minor, and mamamoo didn't even debut yet. Back then, nothing was wrong, but jaedeok was still busy having his typical high school crushes and didn't look at the older ladies (even though wheein is only a year older, she looked way older than him back then). But as mamamoo debuted, it all started. jaedeok was just 18 at that time, and well, he always really liked wheein, and the debut showed what had been hidden inside him for a while already, a crush.

how they interact:
jaedeok automatically gets very shy around wheein and becomes very formal and nervous. wheein thinks it's adorable and really likes him, but not romantically at the moment. the main reason of jaedeok's shyness is because of his strong ual attraction towards wheein. That's the disadvantage of becoming a man, he guesses. he gets teased a lot by the rest of 5k and mamamoo because of that, especially moonbyul loves to poke fun at him for his adorable crush, saying that her baby oo is blushing and such things. At the other side, moonbyul also worries, what if it becomes a scandal? and just... imagine your younger brother liking your best friend... sounds pretty awkward, right?
