  • APPEARANCE: Miso is gorgeous, anyone with two eyes can see that, and they had better. She paid enough money for it. Big eyes, small nose, pointed chin, respectable C-cups, currently warm blonde hair to soften her features more for good measure. She'd make many people look twice just walking down the street, and not just because they recognized her face as rising actress Ok Miso. It doesn't matter than she's quite short, with a face like that, legs for days were unnecessary. Miso is a planet pulling you into her orbit one blindingly white smile at a time.

STYLE: Miso hasn't spent all that money and gym time and diets to be gorgeous only to hide it with inappropriate clothing, what do you take her for? She knows exactly how to dress to make herself stand out. Skinny jeans or shorts with heels to make her legs look longer, tight but conservative shirts so Korea knows she's a Good Girl (tm) but can still appreciate the job. She does like standing out, so occasional cleverly planned fashion terrorism suits her well. Her face should be enough to draw attention when standing in a girl group lineup, but Miso isn't taking chances. That bright polka dotted shirt with the big bow will draw even more attention to her, nevermind that it's ugly. She had good fashion sense, she knows exactly when something is atrocious, but something the atrocious serves her purpose just as much as the flattering.

i've got a wild heart.

PERSONALITY:  Mischievous, confident, charismatic, frivolous, focused, stubborn, goal-oriented, dismissive, smart as hell, ambitious, manipulative, patient, positive

Miso is one of those people who gets what she wants, even if she has to scheme for years for it. She's got ambition for days, Ok Miso wants to become the next it-girl, the next Korea's Whatever. She wants her face on billboards and her smile advertising everything from toothpaste to soju to fried chicken. She wants the wons to filter into her pocket one hairflip at a time. She wants adoration of the masses. Once upon a time, many years ago, all she really wanted was to debut and become an idol. Now? Oh boy her sights are set much higher. That's what happens when you let a dream ripe and fester for years and you re-open the bottle and find out that the contents are just not enough to quench that thirst anymore. Now? Now Miso wants it all. And Miso will get it all.

She's in no hurry though, she's been biding her time for a long time. Miso is patient, she can wait, she'll know it will come, in the mean time she'll just move her pieces across the board. She's definitely a schemer, always has a plan in her mind, and can be manipulative. Miso is not above moving others across the board as pawns, though she's not a monster. She woudln't throw anyone under the bus that she doesn't think deserves to be thrown under the bus, though she has some strange moral codes. Cross her and she'll put you on the pawn list. She's not one for petty revenge, but if you're on the pawn list, well, she won't hesitate to sacrifice you on her board. It means she simply does not care about the personal consequences anymore. She also has a habit of doing things 'for your own good'. Miso likes to meddle in the lives of her friends and orchestrate things behind their backs that she thinks will be beneficial for them without ever asking them about it herself. She thinks her friend will do well as an actress? Pull some strings, talk to a director, and wow they just got called in to audition for a side-character. Oh you're terrified of cameras? Just it up, it's for your career! She's so used to her won ambition and her own schemes that she doesn't really stop and think about if others have the same ambitions. She just assumes they do.

Aside from her own goals and schemes, Miso is a mischievous and frivolous little thing. She loves having fun and is in a constant inner battle btween hard work to further her ambitions and the draw to be playful and have fun. She often pokes good natured fun at anyone around her, making little jabs and jokes at their expense, but it's all in good fun (at least, for her). She's a sassy little thing, able to throw comebacks at a moment's notice and plays very well with those who also have a sassy and savage sense of humour. Miso also does very well at variety for this exact reason, just put her in a room with a snarky MC and you see that impish grin start to form. She's crafted this perfect variety image of someone who doesn't take things too seriously and is ready to cause chaos at a moment's notice, and that's really not entirely an image. A little chaos is fun! It helps that she's incredibly charismatic, she knows people, and she knows how to make people love her. She also has confidence for days, now that her face is a work of art nothing can get her down again and nothing will. The world is Miso's oyster.

Miso is a natural leader, she likes taking charge and the feeling of being in the spotlight and being the one everyone listens to. She loves the feeling of control, which is probably one of the reasons why she loves meddling in people's lives so much. Look at her being a little puppet master, they'll thank her later. She loves the attention being a queen bee gets her, and so of course Miso pulls those minions to her. She's very protective of her friends too, she would probably destroy the world for them if the world harmed them. Miso has never really had lasting friends, or a group of people she could truly call her own, and she is determined to make 4xU family and to keep them family. Such friendship is just not something she has ever had before. If anyone hurt any of them, well, that is a declaration of war to her.

She's a force of positivity too. Miso doesn't let things get to her for long, even in the face of adversity she tries to square her shoulders and think of the long run (and already be thinking of ways around this new obstacle). Nothing is definitely, everything is only a temporary setback. She radiates this same positivity to others, even when she doesn't always feel it herself. She will never let the world know that it got her down, that would be conceding defeat, and Ok Miso does not concede defeat. She's equally positive with others in mind, and is always showering people in complements and trying to get them to feel better if they're down. This sadness is only temporary you beautiful sunflower, you'll get back up there in no time. As with everything, Miso still has this inability to look past herself, so she's positive in the way that she herself relates to, not specifically what they would like. Always looking towards the future, promising that adversity will be temporary, and would they like her to arrange something for them? Never mind, she's already done it, was that a no?

i used to wanna be living like there's only me.

BACKGROUND: Once upon a time, Ok Miso dreamt of stardom. She didn't have much in the way of talent, or much in the way of visuals, but what she did have was determination and vision. She was determined to make it. And so our heroine applied for every company she could in the hopes of finding The One, that was, the one who would actually accept someone with a mug like her and nothing much else to offer. She found The One in Woollim, a small company at the time with not a lot of trainees. They weren't very picky, so here she was.

Little Miso trained and trained and trained. She was only 12 at the time, a little sunny thing ready to make her mark on the world. The company doubtless thought that puberty might be kind on her, but puberty was for from. The wrong things grew, the right things shrank, and her face was far from the artwork those who paid the paychecks wanted it to be. Plastic surgery was suggested, even for such a young girl, but little Miso wanted nothing of it. Thus, when Faerietale debuted, it was not 4xHer, Ok Miso was left with nothing.

Miso was devastated of course, but she didn't have that determination for nothing. She left Woollim, after all, it hadn't done her any good and she wasn't about to admit her defeat by giving into their demands right after being shafted. That wasn't Ok Miso's style. She dreamt of bigger things, and now she had a bone to pick. They didn't want her? Well, she'd show them how wrong they were. Miso had a plan, a plan that involved a lot of waiting, hard work, and the snatching of college funds for a new face. No biggie. She had grand plans of come-uppance and stardom and all sorts of kdrama moments, though of course life does not exactly work like that. First her parents blocked her by refusing to let her finish school and use her college fund on a new face, which she thought was really unfair and inconsiderate. If her parents thought that three years away from trainee life would have her forget about her ambitious goals then boy were they mistaken. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, and Miso's heart ached for her old dreams. When Miso came home from her graduation ceremony, her parents were waiting with a surprise present double-eyelid surgery. Miso laughed and told them that was only the beginning.

Nose, eyes, jaw, lips, s for good measure. It was one hell of a procedure, and one hell of a recovery, but when all was said and done Miso had a new face and not a cent to her name. Her parents looked at her and could barely recognize their only daughter. Miso looked into the mirror and saw a world of opportunity and the birth of a new life. It was time for this princess' round two, finding The One and Only for her, but this time she had choices, boy did she have choices! She ended up joining an acting company called Namoo actors, it's amazing what doors open when one conforms to the traditional beauty standards. She spent a year getting acting lessons and some smalltime modeling gigs here and there when she got her first small role, just as a side side character, but which snowballed into more and more roles here and roles there, each increasingly less inconsequential. She wasn't a good actor by any means, her skills were serviceable and her face did the rest, but that didn't bother Miso. Acting wasn't her passion anyway, it was a means to an end.

Then, two years after her acting debut, one of Miso's performances hits a chord into the mainstream. She was playing a villain side character at the time, the usual y girl out for the female lead's man, but Miso's beauty and face served her well and suddenly people knew her name. The drama increased the premise of the role, Miso started getting actual invitations to auditions, and everything picked up. Her grand scheme of being succesful as a stepping stone was finally paying off! She had two more roles after that, as bona fide side characters, not quite leads but close enough, and then she heard about Tina. This was it! This was exactly the kind of opportunity she had been looking for! She reached out to Woollim and basically offered to terminate her contract with Namoo (if they covered the fee of course), and in turn she would take Tina's place. They would get a former trainee of theirs who knows their work style, is newly gorgeous, and also a rising star in the world of acting. She would achieve that lifelong dream of standing on stage and also rub in how big a mistake it had been of them to not pick her for Faerietale to begin with, this was great!

Don't be mistaken into thinking Miso has achieved her goal now, though. Miso has much bigger ambitions than that. She has achieved one of her goals, but her true goal is to reign supreme over Korea as one of its biggest starts, and she will make 4xU famous if it's the last thing she'll do.

TRAINEE LIFE: When Miso was first a trainee at Woollim she was a wee child. An insecure sweet little thing who always felt the sting of her appearance but was too scared and stubborn to do much about it. She was still playful and positive, though without the edge of ambition to it. Mostly she was just an actual 12 year old with everything that came with it. Sunny, excitable, always a hair's bredth from bursting out crying, a child in a high pressure environment. Then all of it fell apart.

Years later she trained as an actress at 18, and oh boi everything was different now. She was focused, driven, ambitious. She threw her everything into learning how to act so that she could advance, and that paid off.

Then she heard about Tina and the rumours of Woollim looking for replacements, and she knew just what to do. She'd never been able to let go of Faerietale and everything that happened, and the original group's failure against her own success had sated her revenge plans. Now all she saw were the girls she had trained with so very long ago, and a chance to stand on stage and sing and dance again, and maybe help those who had been her friends before to reach the top. Just, you know, a little less the top that she'd reach herself. She reached out to Woollim, and they invited her back to join the group of prospective replacements, but she knew it was just a formality. They'd be crazy not to pick her.

FAMILY:Mom| Kang Yoomi  | 45 | clerk | alive | Cheerful, hardworking, open minded, patient |

Dad | Kim Jonghoon | 43 | marketing manager | alive | Positive, hardworking, stubborn, conservative |

Miso's parents are rather traditional and simple, they really don't stand a chance controlling a daughter like Miso. They've always tried to do right by her, but Miso simply outgrew their expectations and views. She loves them, but she doesn't have a lot in common with them, so she doesn't talk to them often, and going home for the holidays just makes her feel trapped in this house with these people who don't really know her.

EXTENDED FAMILY:
Cheon Sangmi / When Miso was a wee thing, Sangmi had always seemed unapproachable. First she was connected to the company by familial ties, and then the Gigi battle took over. She's still not Miso's favourite, Miso has a hard time letting go of her old perceptions of the girls and Sangmi is no exception, and there is some tension when Miso tried to take some of the reigns into her own hands. There are times when things go well enough, and there are times where Miso and Sangmi clash heads in equal measures.

Lee Naeun / Miso doesn't understand what Naeun sees in Gigi, since the girl (from the stories of the other girls) is so obviously evil. This girl honestly needs to be saved from herself, but Miso doesn't have the energy to be saving anyone who wants so badly to make a deal with the devil. She avoids Naeun a little bit, there's something off with the girl and Miso feels a little uneasy about her.

Chaicharoen Kraiputra / Miso always liked Chai, Back when they were young trainees together, Miso always looked up to Chai's playfulness and charisma. Back then she was too sweet and shy to participate in Chai's whims, but she is a whole new Miso now. Miso can match Chai's sass in her own clever ways, and the two can be fireworks once they get going. Flashy and loud and harmless as long as one doesn't get caught in the crossfire. She would prefer if Chai had more of a filter though, another member leaving is enough scandal for one group please don't add to it.

Violet Chan Xingyu / It's weird, had Miso made it into Faerietale, she would have been the maknae not Venus, but Venus can't seem to let go of her old position. Miso is glad that she never got put into the maknae box, so often they get dismissed as young for the rest of their careers, and Miso has no time for dismissal. She doesn't understand why Venus doesn't feel like she is freed from her old position. They used to be good friends, same age friends even, but now Miso feels a little weird around her. She wishes they were still the same, bubbly and new fresh trainees, but that's just no longer the case and both of them have changed.

Jung Soojin / Miso appreciates Soojin a lot for being the one who takes care of people. She was always there for Miso when they were trainees, and she hasn't changed much since then. While Miso is very different from the girl she once was, and Soojin might have difficulty putting the two Miso's together, there is a tug in Miso for how things used to be, and that tug is strongest with Soojin.

Yoo Sophie / Miso and Sophie are technically same age friends, but there seems to be such a gap between them when it comes to maturity and ambitions. Sophie is nice, don't get Miso wrong, she loves Sophie's quirky songs and playful personality, even if she thinks the girl should work harder to fulfill her potential. She has a banging voice and is obviously talented with that guitar of hers, so why is she stuck making stupid songs all the time? Do something with your life, girl! Miso will drop hints and try to meddle and push her in the right direction, but in the end Sophie has to find her own way and it frustrates Miso endlessly. Is that embarrassing aunt who ships the hell out of Sophie and Sungjae and midkey loves to embarrass her niece.

Yoon Jinsol /  Clara is as meek as it gets, and Miso needs someone to play off of, honestly she forgets Clara exists sometimes. Miso wishes Clara had more confidence, the world is so tough for those who don't have it, but that's not something Miso can do anything about. Insecurities come from within and have to be solved from within as well, and until Clara finds her own worth, meddling and creating opportunities for her won't do any good. Miso wants to connect more with Clara, but she's just not really sure how to do so., but if Clara ever needs some help with her many-step skin care routin, Miso is here with the details, and if Clara would ever make her some of those paper cranes, Miso would gladly hang them from her wall.

TL;DR for all of this: Miso feels a little weird around those she used to train with. They all knew her as someone entirely different, someone who was sweet and a little shy and most importantly very young. They haven't seen each other for many years and everyone has changed, it's a weird experience for them all to see this girl they haven't seen in close to a decade and work with her like nothing has changed, when everything has changed. Miso keeps having the urge to fall back to who she used to be around them, but she does not want to be who she used to be at all, that girl was replaced with this creature of ambition and cunning and confidence. It's easier with the two who weren't there before, Sophie and Clara, because there just aren't any expectations there that she cannot fulfill.

forget about all the stupid little things.

LIKES:

- Chess, to nobody's surprise. She was the chess champion in high school, she's really quite good.

- Compliments, both giving and receiving.

- Sailor Moon, it's a show she used to watch when she was little, and she likes to think of herself as a Sailor Venus. Gorgeous, competent, independent, and obviously much better suited as a leader.

- Makeup and skincare. Miso knows how to make herself look the best, she has a lot of experience with beauty products and loves it.

- She loves the night atmosphere. The night feels like secrets. It feels like opportunity. It feels like renewal. It's amazing.

- Winter and the cold.

DISLIKES:

- Hot weather.

She's allergic to bees and thus terrified of them. Bees could kill her man.

- Doing aegyo: she's pretty decent at it but it always feels a little degrading.

- Cooking: She's really bad at it and also just doesn't enjoy it so she has no wish to learn.

- Super sugary food.

HABITS:

- She has a habit of calling people honey this and sweetie that.

- She's a pretty bad driver, she tends to be impatient and impuslive behind the wheel and that's never a good combination. It's best of others drive, trust me.

- She automatically checks herself out in reflective surfaces. She can't help it, she's always wondering if her hair is in place, her clothes are flattering, or if there's anything amiss at all.

- Nobody takes care of their beauty like Miso does. She always observes her skincare routines, even when sleep is hard to come by, and you better believe she never oversteps her diet. It took much effort and money to obtain this beauty and she's not going to let it go so easy.

HOBBIES:

- She likes reading comments about her (or the rest of the group). She honestly finds the hate and negative comments very amusing, don't they have better things to do than spend their time criticizing those they don't know? The fact that they take the effort means they care.

- She plays a mean game of chess.

- Reaching out to her adoring fans. It's always good to stay in contact with those who keep you in business, and she's well aware that it makes her seem approachable. She's often posting on their fan cafe, and is always ready to snap a photo with a fan.

- She really likes skateboarding, it's something she picked up in high school as something to do while planning her success.

FEARS:

- Staying inconsequential. Miso needs the world to remember her name, she's terrified of dying another speck on this earth who achieved nothing. Forgotten by time. She needs to make her mark upon this world at any cost.

- Bees. Seriously, could kill her.

TRIVIA:

- She has been on a diet for like four years straight now. It but it's the price to pay for a body that thin and she knows it.

- She studied both English and Japanese thoroughly, and is working on Mandarin. One does not become a hallyu star by stubbornly sticking to Korean alone.

- She's very very smart, but more in a business savvy/ambitiously cunning kind of way as opposed to an intelligence kind of way.

- She'd like to get a degree in business at some point, but right now it's much more important to solidify her own fame. Don't think she hasn't thought of the possibility of starting her own company someday and using that talent for scheming for something that will really put her mark on the world.

- She's not the biggest fan of acting, but it fulfills a purpose, and she'll continue if she thinks it will add to her fame. No more side-roles though. Main cast or nothing.

- She's aual but heteroromantic. An unfortunate extension of this is that she's never really been in love. Ever. Love comes slow for her, and she's never let her guard of ambition down enough for that to happen.

if you like me, then say you like me.

LOVE INTEREST: Yoo Seok

FACECLAIM:Sandeul (B1A4)

PERSONALITY:Seok is honestly a nerd. He's very intelligent and thoughtful and is often lost in his own thoughts. He doesn't really care about mainstream pop culture, he's too busy trying to figure out the secrets of the universe and also watching the occasional crime drama (he really likes crime dramas for some reason). On paper Seok is the quintessential nerdy science guy. He gets lost in thought, loses himself whenever he starts talking about physics, and just generally loves what he does. He loves sharing his work so much, getting other people interesting in physics is awesome! It's great! Everyone should be as enthusiastic about physics as he is! He talked a bit too much sometimes as he gets overexcited whenever people show interest in his work, but it's all for the right cause.

He's fundamentally a good egg. He's a sweet guy who goes out of his way to be polite and considerate to strangers. He doesn't like to be a bother and he likes the feeling of being helpful. He's a very helpful little bean, Yoo Seok (though it's also totally not because he definitely likes her a lot and does not want to stop their midnight run-ins and escapes to the roof). He's always ready to listen as much as he's ready to talk.

Seok is adventurous and curious, he loves learning new things and having new experiences. He's always ready to jump into the deep and find out where he ends up, as long as he learns something new from it. This means he has approximate knowledge of many things, though he also does lke his safety and making sure that he doesn't, you know, die in the process. No biggie. Miso once suggested she teach him how to skateboard on the roof and he was quick to point out that sudden death awaited over the edge. He's also very creative with solutions and is very good at thinking outside of the box. Sometimes Miso likes to just talk to him about her ideas and her plans and her problems and he always has a fresh perspective on what she's struggling with. He doesn't really agree with her meddling, and usually advises her first thing to just take a step back and not, but when she pushes he relents and helps her.

Don't mistake that intelligence and scatterbrained nature for weenie-ness though, Seok isn't a wet blanket. He can stand up for himself, and has his own brand of sass. That's what intrigued Miso about him first, he looked like such a kdrama stereotype of a little nerd boy, but when she playfully called him a little nerd he sassed her right back and it was so wonderfully unexpected. Suddenly he became interesting.

RELATIONSHIP:

Meeting:
Yoo Seok just happened to live in the apartment next to 4xU. Miso met her at some point after she moved in (whenever is up to you, maybe even the day she moved in? Whatever you think is best.) She was struggling with carrying something into the apartment and he, ever the helpful guy, helped her out. She was half expecting him to as for an autograph but he had no idea who she was. She was absolutely indignant about this, how dare he not know who Ok Miso is! She played in popular dramas! She was in a girl group now! Sure, she wasn't Song Jihyo, but hey she was a rising star in her own right! He told her the only rising stars he was interested in were in space, and if that didn't intrigue her nothing did, but a schedule had to be adhered to and so she as pulled away.

First Steps:
They're neighbours, of course they kept running into each other again, and Miso had been thinking about him quite a bit. He was an anomaly, and moreover he had interesting information about, well, science and astronomy. Miso always had this tiny itty bitty voice of regret in her head that asked her what if you had gone to university instead? She was very quite smart, certainly far above average, she could have become something in the academic field, and science would have been her prime target. She asked him more about his work, and he offered to show her. He had a free few hours anyway. Miso let curiosity get the better of her, and so Seok grabbed his telescope and led her to the roof where he set it up with a blanket to cover their heads against the light pollution. Miso was intrigued. Miso was in love with what she saw through that telescope. She both loved and feared the faraway stars that made her feel so small and inconsequential, and her friendly neighbour sure ended up being much more interesting to talk to than she had previously anticipated.

Friendship:
Nightly trips to the roof became a recurring thing after that. As a Ph.D student, Seok hardly slept much, and as an idol Miso fared the same fate. Should they be extending their lack of sleep by meeting on the roof and staring at the stars (or hint of stars) and talking? Probably not, but it became Miso's favourite thing. It was just kind of a break from reality, from the pressures of being an idol and the constant reminder of her plans. On the roof she didn't have a 100 step plan to assured fame. On the roof she was just Ok Miso, talking to this nerdy little scientist about all sorts of things. They started just discussing science and philosophy and politics, sometimes she'd ask him about his research, sometimes he'd ask her what she thought about the concept of justice, sometimes they just talked about the meaning of life. Conversations became more personal, Miso started telling him more personal things, and they talked to each other about their fears and aspirations, or sometimes just little things they wondered about. They became friends, and Miso very much looked forward to evenings spent under the stars.

Flirt:
Remember how I mentioned that Miso had never been in love? At one point both of them were looking up at the stars, taking turns looking through the telescope as Seok explained what she was seeing and why it was interesting. She looked at him, face all animated as he talked about the thing he loved, and the penny dropped. She finally realized that, , she really liked him. He was wonderful, he was sweet, he was interesting, and she really really liked him. She had had no idea how it happened, she had never been in love and she didn't even really know what that felt like, but here and now the penny is dropping and oh boi she has no idea what to do with it. A relationship is dangerous to her career, but also these moments on the roof always feel like their own little pocket dimension, something totally unrelated to her career and her normal life. A break from the constant pressures. On the roof it feels like it's okay to give into those feelings, since they don't leave their tiny bubble. What's a bit of flirting, a bit of hoping, a bit of fantasizing, when none of it's really 'real'? Of course things get complicated when the feelings really are real, and Seok reciprocates.

Relationship + Ending:
I'll leave this up to you, honestly. You're so good with any kind of adorable love stories and I am sooo here for it. They'll definitely keep it a secret, Miso's ambition won't have any other way, though it also depends on how you develop her as a character. It'd definitely be interesting to see how Seok and everything about him starts emerging out of its bubble and into the real world, and how Miso will feel about that (panicked at first probably, scared, but would develop past it), and how Seok would feel about it too.

TRIVIA:

- You better believe Miso reminds him of the fact that his name is essentially 'you '.
