The Battleship Island, a short review

This is my first time in reviewing a movie in English, so bear with me if there are any grammar mistakes. I had plan to watch the movie this weekend or next week, just like I said to amoet-16, but I just can’t resist to watch it haha...so I went to CGV yesterday during the one day holiday of my country’s Independence Day.

Okay, so what should I review about the movie? The Battleship Island consists with three different POVs before they finally meet in the island. There’s a singer and his daughter (I forgot the cast name and the girl), there’s also the female whom she’s a ual worker and there’s also the soldier (yes, Joong Ki, of course).

All I can say is the movie is awesome and gruesome in some parts (this is a war movie with Japanese colonial as the setting, of course, it’s going to be gruesome), but lack of background story, but it’s understanable for the duration. Don’t expect to see Joong Ki clean and cut just like in DOTS. His character also endures the force labor, he’s dirty, but somehow still looks handsome. Reminds me to what No Ji Wook (Ji Chang Wook) said to Eun Bong Hee (Nam Ji Hyun) in Suspicious Partner, “you’re still pretty even when you’re dirty” hehe...

Overall, this movie is DAEBAK. Almost as good as Train to Busan and much much better than Ji Chang Wook’s Fabricated City (sorry, Oppa...). I may watch it again from another resource :)

P.S: Just gave a good review about The Battleship Island, so Joong Ki can take care of his woman and make a living...lol.

Omoo...really can't wait to see it. Lucky you, dear latlat :)
Thank you for the review, though. As for the gruesome part, I already expected that, but thanks for the early notice :)
