Burn It Up or Energetic? Pt. 2

So Wanna One have finally made their debut and I recently watched a subbed video of their debut showcase on Youtube. And I was so touched by literally everything. I'm so freakin proud of how far they have come since the P101 days. I also watched a few fancams too because apparently many scenes were cut away from the broadcast.

Now anyways into the main topic: the title songs.

So Energetic was chosen almost unaminously, and I have no objection on that.

The afternoon they debuted, I went online and watched the Energetic MV. The overall atmospere of the song is just so fresh. The piano choreography is super nice and creative. My boys slay as usual. Then I went to search for lyrics videos. (Seriously, are those video makers night owls?) I checked the line distribution of Energetic first and decided that Jisung needs more lines. Then I clicked on a lyrics video for Burn It Up.

And after a few listens of both songs, I decided that I like Burn It Up more (even if I like both songs)

Why?

Reason 1: The beat. Seriously, it's so lit and upbeat, it would fit for a Bangtan or Bigbang song (that's a compliment). Right from the beginning I was like "wow omg this is hella nice".

Reason 2: Lyrics. I quote a comment from Youtube, the commentor said that Energetic is better for a debut song melodically-wise, but Burn It Up is better lyrically-wise. The lyrics are basically talking about how they're gonn rock the world, and like they themselves had said, it's a song that shows their ambitions and will. I love the lyrics.

Reason 3: Lines distribution. Jisung gets more than one line. The sub vocals shine. Minhyun's voice fits this song a lot.

Reason 4: VOCALS. This kind of song mostly focus on the rap part, but the vocal line slays thoroughly. Jinyoung's husky voice fits this song well. Minhyun's sweet voice compliments the song perfectly. Jisung finally shines. Sungwoon and Jaehwan's powerful vocals enhances the bridge esprecially. Jihoon is a multitalented cutie and hottie. Daehwi's crisp clear voice surprisingly fits this song. (Like have you heard the adlib he did in the bridge? Simply heavenly.)

Reason 5: Rap. God Daniel's voice for the rap part had me on the ground. Woojin slayed as usual. And then there's Kuanlin. More on him next reason...

Reason 6: "WE KNOW HOW TO LIVE OUR LIFE...YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO LIVE YOUR LIFE". I tell you, the didn't even reach the until this line comes on. And despite multiple sources that states everyone did this line together, this line is actually done by our swaggy maknae Kuanlin. This is such an important line in the whole song, and I'm proud that Kuanlin took that line. This is easily one of my favourite part in the song (alongside with Seongwoo's opening line and all of Daehwi's parts).

Reason 7: The dance and the MV. Oh. My. Freakin. GOSH. The dance is so good and the MV complies it so well. After watching the behind the scenes, I'm literally so surprised and impressed by how they danced in heavy rain but the wetness actually made them extremely y. My gosh. Why am I swooning over such young boys. Literallu half of them are underaged. I need some holy water.

Well...I think that's about that. I like both songs, but I favour Burn It Up more. I just hope for all the best for Wanna One, and for annoying Wannables to stop bothering them, and for Wannable to not become one of the worst fandoms in history, and for Wanna One to walk on the flower path until whenever.

Note: My favourite parts in Energetic are all of Daehwi's parts, Jaehwan's high note, Daniel's rap parts and Sungwoon's "You tell me how to feel". That part is literally so underrated it sounds extremely y I don't even know what kind of stuff it has done to my heart.

Note 2: The acoustic version of Always made me cry so hard. Everyone sounds so angelic and sincere.

Note 3: For Wanna Be...Seongwoo's voices suits the chorus extremely well. And I'm seriously attacked by Jihoon's "nae maeum soge jeojang" line.

Note 4: The OT11 ver. of Never sounds weird for some reason. Something doesn't feel right but I don't know what. I shall continue to listen to Nation's Sons version of this song.

Note 5: Woojin's line in Pick Me OT11 ver. is precious
