PERSONALITY :　
Athletic and energetic: Minkyu has always been a hyper boy who was overflowing with energy. He always took it out with practicing several sports, and he's become a very athletic boy. Not necessarily muscled, but he has incredible stamina and speed, because he has been into long distance running all his life, because it was easy to shake off the energy he had too much.

Charming and social: Minkyu is a real stan attractor and steals a lot of hearts. He knows how to charm anyone with his words, voice and expressions. He has developed a silent but very cool and handsome stage persona that really attracts fans, but off-camera he's extremely social and makes friends easily. But sometimes he gets too excited and social, and he becomes a huge chatterbox that will stick to you just to finish his story that he's telling for the nth time. He can't shut up, unless someone tapes his mouth. Some people get really annoyed by that, but others love it.

Confident, assertive and conceited: Minkyu knows best, he knows that he can wind anyone around his finger in no time, and that makes him very confident. He feels like he could take on the world by himself, and that might be a bit too much, but it really boosts his mood. He kinda lives from his confidence, it makes him happy and ready to work hard and make it. It was only a matter of time that he got overconfident, and it is making him conceited as well. He thinks he's the best looking of the trainees and shows, and even though he still cares about his friends, he just can't help wanting to admire himself and brag. Whenever someone disagrees with him and tries to bring him down, Minkyu will become angry and go in denial, because again, Minkyu knows best.

Boyish and childish: What many people don't expect is that Minkyu is actually behind on people of his age when it comes to maturity. He still thinks of love as holding hands and pecking cheeks, he'll get all red and giggly when someone mentions something rated, just like a preteen kid. He isn't ready to become an adult and is still amused by things like a plane flying by or a little bird eating his bread. In that aspect he's still like a teenager, sometimes even a child, and he really needs someone to look after him, because he just can't stay on his own for long without messing something up and panicking.

Competitive and calculating: Minkyu knows best, Minkyu wants best. He wants to become the best idol, win the survival show and all. He's someone who hates to lose. He'll whine and kick like a child when he loses and he has lost friends before just because they defeated him in a game he's confident about. He always does his best, even in something he doesn't like, just because he wants to win everything. He has found a good way to do that, always have at least one plan. Even though Minkyu can have his really immature moments, he always tries to have a plan, and a plan B, and a plan C as well. He thinks that victory will be achievable when he finds the pattern and is able to predict the moves of the enemies.

Emotional and envious: Minkyu's childish and assertive nature makes him very vulnerable to emotions. Especially sadness and anger. One bad thing can turn him into a crybaby or a fuming, stomping and kicking boy who lashes out at everything that moves. His moods change quickly, and when he's not happy, he can become jealous at anyone or anything that is better than him, it's crazy.

BACKGROUND :　Minkyu was born into a family that seemed perfect. They were rich, happy and good-looking, living somewhere in a penthouse in the middle of Gangnam. Minkyu was the only child and he was a young and happy kid, at least it seemed so. But just like his parents, he was a great actor. It was really an acting family, and because of their jobs, his parents were often gone from home. He was basically raised by a nanny with a lack of affection, he was just drilled to enter the idol world and since a young age he was trained by several teachers hired by his parents. Blah blah blah cliche drama story yada yada yada.

Minkyu basically grew up acting, and that's how he could develop his stage persona, but under that cool dude who seems to be made for the idol world, there hides a little kid that has wasted so much of his childhood and that he wants to catch onto it, that's why he's such a childish chatterbox. But unlike most of the stories like this that Minkyu breaks from his parents and goes another way, he actually started to enjoy it. If this was really a drama, the story would get so boring because Minkyu just followed what he was told to do, and when he was 14 his parents made him get into Pledis entertainment pretty much without him doing any effort, even though he was good, but the other trainees didn't like it. They pretty much avoided Minkyu, kids like Seventeen and Pristin stayed away from him. It only made Minkyu, who was eager for attention, mad, and he broke the contract and ran off without a trace. He only paid the fine of breaking his contract years later, when he was already a trainee in Starship, where he got in with his own effort, and was actually liked among the trainees, especially one trainee in particular. When Mnet announced a new survival show, Minkyu really wanted to join and begged the staff to be able to audition, but they were planning to let him and some other trainees audition for it. Including that one trainee that liked him a lot, and he liked that one back. His best friend. While Minkyu easily got accepted, maybe because of the buzz that his family connections will give and his captivating persona, his best friend got rejected. That made Minkyu determined to win the show. But little did he know what price he would have to pay to win.

don't let them be together if you want the place to be silent. They get along really well and because both are very talkative people, they are constantly engaged into a conversation, and they can get so loud together that it can cause headaches. When the cold lemonade plotline is around, Minkyu will always get one of his mood boosts and he will automatically feel better because of her and her pretty face. A lot of people ship them, but they actually don't like each other that way. They sometimes argue as well.

In the company, Gwanghyun is called the king of survival shows, even though he never got really far. He knows perfectly how mnet and survival shows work and has given the other trainees who applied tips on how to appeal on camera. Before that, he and Minkyu were already great buddies, messing around with people's minds and being able to chat informally because they are the same age.

TRAINING BACKGROUND :

▸ At first, Minkyu pretty much got forced into Pledis entertainment by his parents, he didn't even have to audition, they just let him in because of his famous actor parents. Because of that, the other trainees were distant and didn't want to have anything to do with the boy that cheated his way into the company and immediately got the #1 trainee spot just because of his connections.  He hated it, and after a year, Minkyu decided to break the contract and abandon Pledis. He immediately went to Starship where he felt way better, even though he didn't get much debut chances at first. Minkyu didn't mind, as long as he could train properly without people constantly gossiping, glaring and despising him. He worked really hard to polish his skills and persona to grow into a boy that's absolutely ready to debut. After a few years of staying under the radar, he finally decided to pay his fine to Pledis for breaking the contract, with his parents' money. When he appears in the survival show, Pledis might act snakey and call him out, but his parents are keeping their eyes on the company that they don't say any bad word about Minkyu, not even think one.
