- sensitive - "easily hurt emotionally" he has a bit of a victim complex, as if everyone is out to get him. if he detects even the slightest annoyance in their voice, he'll immediately think that they hate him and he'll get really sad. cries really easily. too harsh on himself.

aki's father wanted him to go to a university in japan and become a capitalist slave like him. he was really not into that so he stayed in sydney to pursue music. his dad was enraged and disowned him (it was a huge show). it wasn't much of a problem his first two years of college since he had guaranteed housing. now that he's a junior, he's been hopping from friend to friend and even stays at airbnbs when times get desperate. when he found out about the sharehouse he asked haley to help a bro out and now he lives there.
he used to be a really straight-edge kid but once his dad disowned him, he let loose. during his first two years of college, he went crazy and almost died a couple of times (kid gets crazy when alcohol is involved). once he started living with haley, he started smoking weed, but he doesn't do it that often. he still prefers drinking more.
lifestyle aki is majoring in music at the university of new south wales. he's someone who works hard and plays even harder. he has morning classes (everyone thinks he's crazy for purposefully signing up for them). after classes he either goes to the library to study or he goes back to the sharehouse and compose/practice piano. aki makes it a point to do music-related stuff for at least three hours a day. then when he's done with that he either hangs out with friends, works out, or goes to his part-time job.
he works at a 24-hour convenience store that's a 5-minute walk from the sharehouse. his hours are from 8pm - 3am. he only works on tuesdays and thursdays though, so when he doesn't have work he hits the sack early. basically: on mondays and wednesdays he wakes up at 8am and goes to bed at 8pm; on tuesdays and thursdays he wakes up at 8am and goes to bed at 4am.
he has no classes on fridays so that's when he parties until he drops. then on saturdays and sundays he djs at alter ego (he always has a hangover but his dj skills are still fire). haley's been trying to get him to work on friday nights, too, but aki absolutely refuses. he needs fridays to party. on saturdays and sundays, when he's not helping out at alter ego, the only other thing you can find him doing is sleeping.

how will you be able to help out around alter ego? can you swing by often?
i'm a dj. i can play some jams to shake things up, i guess. (haley: "how do you differentiate a jam from a bop?") i think a jam is more of a classic while a bop is something you can really get down to. but it really depends on your own perspective. but i think most people would at least agree that a jam is a classic song. like [redacted due to length] (haley: "ok ok stop talking we're getting off topic I'M CONDUCTING AN INTERVIEW HERE")
