Weight/Height: 54 kg, 161 cm

Fashion style: Sijin doesn’t really put much effort into fashion. She believes that since clothes were meant to be worn all day, they should be comfortable and hassle-free. That’s why her usual outfit is a simple t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. Of course, that doesn’t mean she can’t look good. Sijin’s clothes may be casual, but most people will agree that her style is cute and fashionable. If there’s an event going on, Sijin will opt for a cute a-line dress. Moving on to jewelry! Sijin is literally never seen without bracelets. They’ll usually be thin metal bangles, but she’ll wear anything from charm bracelets to beaded bracelets or leather strips. She just needs something on her wrists. Another thing you won’t find her without is earrings. Typically, since she’s too lazy to change them, they’ll just be diamond studs, but if she’s feeling really fancy, she’ll wear dangles. She doesn’t really care much about her hairstyle and usually has it down or in a ponytail. Even when she’s going to a party, she’ll just put it in a bun or put half of it up. Honestly, that’s the best hair you’ll get out of her unless you drag her to a salon or something.

Appearance: The first thing most people would notice about Sijin is her face shape. It’s a very envied oval, and her skin is almost flawless. Her hair color is dark brown, but surprisingly, it’s not dyed. This comes from her mixed descent; her parents think that her mother may have had a fairly large amount of Mongol blood in her, which would contribute to her light hair color that she passed on to Sijin. Speaking of which, Sijin’s always been proud of the fact that if you look at her hair extremely closely and under the right lighting, you can find some red streaks in there. She thinks it’s the coolest thing ever. On the other hand, her eyes are brown, which isn’t so exciting. They’re not the biggest eyes either, and when she smiles, her eyes crinkle. She doedn’t like that, although her friends insist it’s adorable. Sijin’s not very tall, but she’s a respectable height, and her weight is in proportion as well, although she looks skinnier than what people would expect.

Personality: optimistic, sympathetic, ambitious, stubborn, quiet, sensitive

Let’s start with the positives! Sijin is usually a pretty optimistic person, and she’ll always have a cheerful greeting. It’s pretty well-known in her friend group that if you’re having a bad day, hanging out with Sijin will make you feel better. It’s not just because she’s always happy; she’s also a great listener and extremely sympathetic. If you’re feeling sad, Sijin is your shoulder to cry on. She will drop everything she’s doing to listen to your worries, and she’ll sometimes give advice too. Most of the times, however, she’ll just stay quiet and let you spill your emotions.

Speaking of which, Sijin is a really quiet girl. Sometimes, like when people are coming to her with troubles, it can be good. Other times, however, it can be bad. Other people never know what she’s thinking, and even if she’s hurt (physically or emotionally), she won’t say anything about it. Later, when people find out what she’s been going through, she’ll only shrug and say that she didn’t want to bother anyone. Another neutral trait that Sijin displays is sensitivity. Sure, this is pretty obvious since she’s so sympathetic, which is the good part. The bad part is that she gets hurt very easily. Even the smallest offhand comments other people make will strike deep in her heart. She won’t say anything about it, but she’ll remember and try to change herself because of it.

Now, onto the not-so-great stuff. She might not look it, but Sijin is extremely stubborn. So far, none of her friends have been able to win any arguments against her. When Sijin has her mind made up, she’s going to get whatever she wants no matter the consequences, even when it’s not good for her. This ties in a lot with another negative trait: ambition. Sijin doesn’t usually talk about her wants and desires, and she’s usually a very chill person. However, that’s all a mask to hide the fact that she’s extremely ambitious and would stop at nothing to rise in power. Okay, so maybe she wouldn’t do anything illegal for power, money, fame, etc, but she would definitely try to become one of the elite, whether that be in richness or power.

Background:

Kim Sijin was born on May 9th, 1998, in Busan, South Korea, to a Chinese mother and a Korean father. Her father was an elementary school teacher, and her mother ran a business company. Both were extremely busy people, so Sijin’s childhood was a bit lonely. She doesn’t remember much except her parents taking her and her sister to the amusement park when she was five. She rode on the little roller coasters with her mother while her father took pictures. Looking back, she would definitely choose that moment as the defining moment of her childhood.

Anyway, two years after Sijin was born, on November 7th, 2000, her sister, Kim Woojin, was born. Sijin doesn’t remember how she originally felt about Woojin, but she did remember that after Woojin was born, her mother started to stay home a lot more. Sijin remembers being really excited because she thought her mother was a princess (that’s how beautiful her mother was). However, things didn’t exactly go the way Sijin wanted them to. Yes, her mother stayed home a lot more to care for Woojin, but it also meant that Sijin was often neglected or pushed aside. Her mother also yelled a lot more, and she began to drink from green glass bottles that smelled bad.

Sijin didn’t realize it, but her parents’ marriage was falling apart. Nonetheless, Sijin’s mother tried to hold on for the sake of her children, but she could only do it through the help of alcohol. Eventually, the year that Sijin was five, she and her husband took their children to the amusement park for one last family outing. The day after that, Sijin’s parents divorced, and the children were placed into the custody of their mother, who moved back to her home in China.

Hence, Sijin spent most of her life in Qingdao. Her Chinese name is Shiqin, which is the name of an instrument. She wasn’t really bullied for it, but the weird looks she got made her really self-conscious. Anyway, being in China was what really made Sijin realize the differences between her and her sister. Woojin had no problem fitting in right away, but Sijin couldn’t seem to find her place in this huge country. That was the beginning of the rocky relationship with her sister. The other major thing that contributed to it was her mother’s favoritism. It was pretty obvious that their mother preferred Woojin over Sijin, and Sijin was absolutely hurt by this. She thought that, because she had the best grades, did the most work, and could do almost everything asked, she would be the favorite. No! The favorite was Woojin, who had terrible grades (she had three Cs out of five classes!), did absolutely no work around the house (not even the dishes!), and was absolutely spoiled. If Sijin refused to give her the TV remote (it was a good reason! She didn’t want her sister to wear glasses!), Woojin would cry, and their mother would rush out of her room, slap Sijin so hard that she would fall, and let Woojin do whatever she wanted.

Sijin couldn’t wait to get out. Anything, any life, would be better than this one. Anything would be better than attending to a drunk, biased mother and a spoiled excuse of a sister. Thanks to her optimism, Sijin somehow managed to get through life, and when it was time for her to go to university, she applied to a university in Korea, knowing that, while it wasn’t the best she could have done, she would definitely get accepted. And she did! SHe finally managed to escape from the chaos of her life and had to chance to start over.

She didn’t have many friends in China because her mother refused to let her go out for any reason other than school or shopping for necessities. That’s why she was absolutely thrilled to meet some new people in her father’s home country. Speaking of which, her father had never contacted her, but she used her mother’s contacts (because they were at least nice people) to find him. He was ecstatic to see her and introduced her to his colleagues, the teachers at the elementary school that he’s principal of. That was the first time Sijin met Kim Sunggyu. He was nine whole years older than her, but she loved his carefree humor and fell in love with him immediately.

I’ll talk about their relationship later haha so let’s get back on track. Sijin enrolled in university and had a hard time keeping up at first. She was completely unfamiliar with the language because her mother refused to let her come in contact with anything to do with Korea, including beauty products, music, etc. However, on the first day of school, she met a Japanese girl, Hoen Akemi, with the exact same problem as her. The two quickly became the best of friends, and together, they learned Korean and caught up on schoolwork. Quickly, as they began to converse more with their classmates, another person joined their friendship: Yoo Kihyun. He was originally a very shy boy, completely focused on his schoolwork, but Sijin and Akemi thought he looked lonely and sat with him during lunch one day. They discovered that Kihyun was actually very nice and had a great sense of humor. Eventually, the three of them became inseparable, and Kihyun slowly crawled out of his shell to show his bright personality to the world.

Occupation:
Full-time college student with a side job at the cafe in her university

Likes:
Sunshine, just like her personality
Raspberries; she has the most amazing raspberry perfume and it makes all the girls swoon in jealousy
Cats; honestly, if she didn’t have Sunggyu, Sijin would probably have around ten cats in her apartment
Dislikes:
Alcohol; well, this is pretty obvious since her mother abused alcohol
Fighting; Sijin’s a peaceful person in general, and fighting reminds her of her mother, whom she abhors
Sports; well, part of this might just be because she’s an academics person, but Sijin doesn’t really understand why people choose to tire themselves out

Habits:
When nervous or scared, she grabs the closest thing and clutches it for dear life (usually it’ll be a person’s hand)
Tilts head to left when thinking
Plays with bracelets absentmindedly
Snaps her fingers when she can’t remember something
Trivia:
Her Chinese name is Jin Shiqin
Her English name, given by her teacher Mr Simmons, is Darcie
She had braces during her youth
Absolutely cannot put up with horror
Scared of spiders and bugs in general
I did not put this in the personality section because it’s not a big part of her personality, but she has a deadpan snark (sorta like sarcasm, but like you answer everything in monotone like “wow, no way, I had no clue”)
She’s slept until 3 pm before

Family:
Mother: Li Wenjun // 44 // not close at all
Father: Kim Byungho // 45 // they’re still getting to know each other, but Sijin definitely likes him so far
Sister: Kim Woojin // 17 // definitely not close

Friends:
Best friend 1: Hoen Akemi // she was the first person Sijin met at university, and they bonded over language struggles. Unfortunately, because roommates were already set, they could not room together ;;;
Best friend 2: Yoo Kihyun // he was originally a very socially awkward boy, but Sijin and Akemi helped him open up to the world (may or may not be Sunggyu’s love rival lol)
Roommate: Park Choa // actually, Choa would have been Sijin’s best friend, but she was absent for the entire first week of school. Her family was still on vacation and couldn’t make it back in time. They each have their own friends, but at the end of the day, they come back to the dorm and get along quite well.

Where are the mirrors in your home?
Well, I live in a dorm, and we have a mirror in the bathroom. My roommate has one of those makeup mirrors on her desk, and I have a small one hanging above my bed.

Kim Sunggyu

Occupation: elementary school teacher
Age: 25

Birthday: April 28, 1992

Personality:

Honestly, Sunggyu would not be the first person you think of when you think ‘teacher’. Kim Sunggyu, with all his sass? Kim Sunggyu, who absolutely roasts his friends? Kim Sunggyu, the ultimately memer? It’s hard to see Sunggyu calm down enough and bring out his patience when teaching kids, but somehow, he manages to do it. After all, Sunggyu does know the line between professionalism and casual hanging out.

A bit unfortunately, because he’s so salty all the time, Sunggyu gets mad easily. Fortunately, however, he does calm down quickly and apologizes if he’s in the wrong. If he was in the right, though, he’ll insist that the wrongdoer apologize and will ignore them until they do so. Paired together with Sijin’s extreme stubbornness, all their friends wonder how they’re even together.

Sunggyu’s very prideful. He takes his job extremely seriously and genuinely cares for all his students. Likewise, he’s so protective of his loved ones (including his students) that he’ll actually fight a mob boss for them (that hasn’t happened yet, but hey, you never know).

Relationship:

Sijin and Sunggyu are so similar in personality that they might as well be siblings. At the same time, though, they’re so different that their friends wonder how they even managed to get together. Actually, in the beginning, even Sijin couldn’t believe that she liked him! What was so attractive about his small eyes and casual snark? ...oh wait--

Kidding haha. His eyes aren’t actually that small after all (who’s she trying to fool lol). And his smile was the brightest thing in the room, and his voice was so smooth like jazz-- (sorry I had to do that). ANYWAY. Ahem. Sijin was really scared that her father would find out and fire Sunggyu or disown her - or worse, both! - but when they finally mustered the courage to tell him together, Kim Byungho just laughed. He said that love knows no limits and that he was grateful that his daughter found a good man worthy of her beauty.

Even though Sijin’s father approves, not everyone else in Korea does. Korea, being a fairy conservative country, harbors many traditionalists. The first few times they went on dates, many old and middle-aged people confronted them, saying how scandalous and shameful they were, how ashamed they should be, how utterly inappropriate it was for a young girl to be dating someone so much older than her (I mean, they can tell Sunggyu’s no longer in his 20s). And Sunggyu kept up his calm demeanor if only to spite those people, but he so wanted to punch those ers in the face. Who were they to insult his precious girl? Who were they to judge such a beautiful relationship? Who were they to think they’re better than everyone else? Sijin was so hurt by those kinds of people that she considered breaking off the relationship so that Sunggyu could find someone closer to his age, but he grabbed her in a hug and told her how ridiculous it was that to think that he could ever love anyone else. From then on, they’ve strictly been the netflix-and-chill couple, and on the occasion they do go out, they pretend like they’re siblings.

From all that, you might think that they never fight, but that’s not true at all. Sijin and Sunggyu are so similar in personality that they both get mad easily and are too stubborn to admit that they’re wrong. Obviously, someone has to give in first, and they’re not people without conscience, so oftentimes, the one who was in the wrong realizes and apologizes. The other will usually sigh and admit that they did something wrong too, and everything will go back to normal again.

First meeting:

Sunggyu and Sijin first met at the elementary school that Sunggyu teaches at because Sijin’s father is the principal. Sunggyu didn’t understand why his employer had called everyone in for an emergency meeting; did inspectors suddenly show up? No, his elder daughter had finally escaped the clutches of his evil ex-wife and would now be living in Korea! Everyone had heard about the principal’s alcoholic ex-wife who was granted custody to their poor daughters… Sunggyu winced, expecting a gangster, ‘I grew up on the street’ child.

But no. The principal’s daughter was a sweet, young 18 year old, due to start college soon. The moment she looked at him and smiled, Sunggyu swore his heart stopped. No, no, he was not doing this. He was definitely not in love with his employer’s daughter who’s nine years younger than him. Nope, totally not, what are you even talking about.

“Sunggyu, come over here and show her around.”

Yes sir! Oh wait sir, I can’t, my stomach hurts-- But she was already in front of him, introducing herself in a shy voice. Oh god, oh no, oh my ING GOD--

Fortunately, Sunggyu managed to get a grip and start a (hopefully) casual conversation. In his comforting presence, Sijin soon opened up, and so did Sunggyu. The day ultimately ended with them exchanging contact information, and Sunggyu hoping that his employer didn’t notice his obvious attraction to his baby daughter.

(He did.)

Trivia:
Sunggyu is allergic to pet dander, but Sijin loves cats ;; so Sunggyu went and got medicine for his allergies, and then he adopted a kitten. He let Sijin name it, and she named it Hoya ;)) (he's an orange tabby with surprisingly long hair and likes to cuddle; he sleeps a lot lol and meows a ton the top of his lungs)
Sijin likes to sleep with her leg hiked up (like the second woman in this picture: http://img.minq.com/vb/21313e3f/a1941a6002189e8a62b74fda7e5e9b61218f5fda.jpg ) so when she sleeps with Sunggyu, she’ll throw her leg over him
Sunggyu brags, and Sijin just looks at him with a long-suffering look
Sunggyu’s left-handed, but Sijin likes to cuddle up on his left side
Sunggyu has a great singing voice, and Sijin begs him to sing to her

Last comments for Earth-realm characters:
I included a lot of  pictures! I couldn’t just pick one link because all the pictures I liked were from different places :”((( and I’m sorry it took up so much space
I wasn’t sure where this story takes place, but I saw that Jineul lives in Daegu and Asa lives in Busan, so if it’s okay with you, Sijin lives in Seoul :D

Scene requests:
Since Sunggyu’s so much taller, I would love it if there was a scene where he when she wanted a kiss.
A bit darker, but I lowkey want to see Sijin and her mother fighting (like fist fighting) to show just how badly Sijin’s life was
Oh, I mentioned that the amusement park was Sijin’s influential moment. It would be nice if she could have a flashback to that day at some point.

Other names:
Bae Hajin: a pseudonym for when she goes on missions during the daytime
The Shadow: hints her to position as assassin and power; she is silent like the shadows and manipulates them to her advantages
Queen of the Night: another allusion to her power and position

Birthday: October 17
Age: 35 (elves age much slower than humans, so Sijin may be 35 in age, but physically, she’s still barely in her 20s)
Hometown: City of Hearts
Faction: Deimos
Position: Assassin

Species: Elf
Weight/Height: 55 kg; 175 cm

Style: Sijin doesn’t care about her clothes, as long as they don’t get in her way. Who knows when she might have to fight? That’s why she absolutely will not wear loose flowy clothes. Most of her clothes are black and tight. Not skin-tight, but definitely won’t obstruct her movement. Sijin is adamant about wearing pants when fighting. She also does not wear armor because it weighs her down, decreasing her speed and agility.

Her usual combat outfit (or should I say, her usual outfit) is a long sleeved black turtleneck, tight black pants, and long boots. She wears leather gloves on her hands and sometimes a cloak, although she goes through pains to not wear it.

If she’s at a formal event, Sijin will dress in traditional elven clothes, although she abhors the flowiness of the females’ clothing. That’s why, no matter how important the event, she’ll always wear men’s clothing. Sure, it’s still not as fitted as she would prefer, but it’s definitely better than what the women wear. Like most elves, Sijin doesn’t wear jewelry. Her skin gets irritated in the presence of any type of metal but silver, and silver is rare to find (also, metal reflects, which would not be good for an assassin).

What she wears: https://sep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-55945181203785_2270_40733713
What the women usually wear: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/17/cd/9d/17cd9da71caf84c2410bf14474bbfe0c.jpg

Appearance:

Sijin is slim and fairly tall. She weighs a lot but doesn’t look like it, but that’s because of her muscle mass. Her eyes are a odd amber color, rare among elves, and they seem to blaze with fire when hit with the right light at the right angle. Her skin, as an elf, is paler than humans’ skin, just enough to distinguish her species, but not enough to make people scared of her. Another easy way to tell that she's an elf is by her pointed ears. Like most elves, Sijin’s hair is jet black, long, and straight. She isn’t allowed to cut her hair (perhaps just a family tradition, or it could be a species thing), so she usually wears it up in a tight bun to keep it out of the way when she’s fighting.

Personality: cold, sarcastic, ambitious, childish at times, merciful

Being an assassin, it’s no surprise that Sijin is cold. She gives no second thought to killing other individuals, sometimes even families. She sees it just as a way of life, and that it was their time to die. It was their fate, and she is Death’s messenger. Along with her cold personality is her sarcasm. Sijin will not take any of your crap; nope, she’ll roast you so hard you’ll burn like a wildfire. Oddly enough, however, she hates puns. Anyway, going back to her assassin nature, is it so surprising, then, that Sijin’s ambition is the driving force behind her entire existence? To be able to serve the faction, that was all she wanted at first. However, as she rose through the ranks, her greed grew, and eventually, she set her goal on becoming the faction leader.

It’s weird, how her personality clashes. Even though she’s killed so many, she still has an inner child. She laughs like nothing in the world matters, even when the world is burning up around her. She’ll try new things like an excited child, and she’ll even expose herself naively. Going back (again) to her position, Sijin doesn’t seem like a particular merciful assassin; she’s killed newborn babies before. Nonetheless, Sijin believes in her instinct, and if her inner voice tells her to spare someone, she does without hesitation. This has only happened twice, but both times, it’s paid off (I’ll explain in the background).

Background:

Sijin’s first memory was of a beautiful woman in flowing robes smiling down at her. A taller man stood behind the woman, looking worried.

The next thing she knew, Sijin had been sent to live with her aunt and uncle in the countryside. They were respectable people, the owners of a fairly large ferry operation, and Sijin grew up with them, learning how to navigate the waterways. However, one winter when she was seven, she fell into the river and nearly drowned. It didn’t help that the water was freezing. From then on, Sijin stayed away from boats and anything to do with water.

The summer she was twelve, Sijin unknowingly passed through the mirror in her room into the Earth-realm. She didn’t realize, however, until her Earth-realm counterpart was approaching. In a moment of desperation, Sijin hid under the bed and hoped that the counterpart would go away so that she could go home. Unfortunately, Sijin had to wait hours until the counterpart was done with homework and went to shower. After she returned, Sijin developed an almost unhealthy obsession with the mirror and her counterpart, often watching her counterpart through the mirror (I’m not sure if you meant for this to be a thing lol).

The autumn Sijin was fifteen, her aunt and uncle came to her with an important message: she was the daughter of respectable magic users, and they sent her away for her safety. Now, both of them have been killed in the war between factions. They were in the Deimos faction, who have sent scouters to recruit her. Even though they didn’t know what Sijin had in store, they were certain that the daughter of their best agents would not disappoint. From then on, Sijin lived with the Deimos faction, training to become an assassin.

The spring she was seventeen, Sijin nearly killed a fellow Deimos. She was practicing throwing daggers, and a girl leapt from the roof of the training house directly into the path of her knife. Sijin was furious; if that girl died, it would have been her fault and she would have felt terrible for months on end.. She stormed up to the girl and shoved her rudely. The girl shoved back. It only took two shoves and a shouting match for the two to become enemies. Later, Sijin would learn that the girl was Baek Yerin, one of the fastest runners in the training group. Over time, they have learned to control their anger and now have a frosty, grudging respect for each other.

Ah, now comes the fun part. During the winter of her twentieth year, two years after her first field mission, Sijin was sent out at night to eliminate the family of an Aries faction supporter. They lived in a humble cottage, and Sijin, already used to killing by this point, hesitated. Something in her told her to go in there, to see if anyone was there, and even though she tried to talk herself out of it, she went anyway. ‘Maybe they heard about me and ran away,’ she tried to convince herself. Well, that was certainly not the case, since the entire family was sleeping. Sijin’s footsteps were silent as she crept close to a hanging box in the back of the room. As she peered into it, she knew that she would have to do the unthinkable: she would have to save someone. In the box lay a small baby boy, sleeping peacefully. Sijin tried to suppress her training, wanting to leave this little boy behind, but a tremor shook her, and quietly, she picked up the baby. By the time the cottage started to burn, Sijin and the baby were already long on their way back to Deimos headquarters. Obviously, HQ was not pleased, but Sijin promised that if anything bad came out of it, she would take full responsibility. Sijin named this boy Yoo Kihyun, and he grew up to become her first apprentice.

I said twice, didn’t I? Well, yes, now this is the second time. Fives years later, when Kihyun was only seven, Sijin was sent out to the war. She knew that something would go wrong; her instincts buzzed at her to stay, but she went because it was her duty. By and by, she was right. During the battle, an Orc knocked her down, and they struggled in the muddy battlefield, fighting to cut each other’s throats. Sijin obviously did not want to die, so using the last of her strength, she pulled out her dagger and slashed her opponent’s leg. Her opponent released her, knowing full well that he was about to die. ‘Do it,’ he hissed. ‘Don’t humiliate me.’ But Sijin paused, her inner voice screaming at her to spare him. The Orc was confused, but he couldn’t lunge at her with his injured leg. After a split second hesitation, she knelt down and began to patch up his leg. ‘Go back,’ she told him. ‘I don’t know who you are or what you do, but I know you’re important. I don’t know why I spared you, but if my instincts told me so, you must be someone worthy of life.’ His name was Lee Howon, and later, much later, he would save Sijin’s life in a very similar battle. That was also the battle in which he died, and despite circumstances, Sijin staged him an elven funeral.

Trivia:
Sijin has a resting b**chface (sorry idk if you cuss or not)
Has a partiality to berries of all sorts
Likes to bask in the sun
Always entranced by fire
Left-handed

Family:
Kim Byungshin and Lee Moonhan: parents and extremely skilled magic users; died in battle against Aries faction
Lee Moonhyuk and Park Sangha: uncle and aunt; manage a ferry operation and have very little to do with the war; Sijin grew up with them

Friends:
Yoo Kihyun / 15 / he was the small boy whom Sijin saved from the family of an Aries faction supporter. He grew up under her care and training, and the year he turned twelve, Sijin told him his story. At first, he felt betrayed and was on the verge of running away, but thinking back on everything Sijin’s done for him, he decided that the past was past.
Choi Junhee (Juniel) / 24 / I didn’t mention her in the background, but she’s one of the general faction members and helped raise Kihyun while Sijin was at war. Honestly, Sijin just picked her at random, but when she came back, the girls became close friends. Juniel brings out the child in Sijin, and they both have optimism in common. Juniel’s a very sweet girl, and some people (cough YERIN) wonder why she bothers being friends with someone as dark as Sijin.
Allies:
Deimos faction
Lee Howon, of a sort: Orc; she spared him in a battle, and years later, he repaid her by saving her life from a Deimos traitor. Unfortunately, he died that same day, shot down by his own people who witnessed his mercy. After the battle, Sijin returned to the battlefield to collect his remains and gave him a proper elven funeral (only because she doesn’t know how Orcs do funerals).
Enemies:
Baek Yerin / 20 / more of a rival than an enemy. Yerin is the fastest messenger in all of Deimos faction and a daredevil. She jumped off the roof of the training building in front of Sijin’s knives because her friends dared her. Sijin despises her, but she also admires certain qualities.

Weapons:
Daggers: daggers are Sijin’s go-to weapons since they’re so easy to use and carry.
Stealth: Sijin depends on her silence and invisibility (not literally haha) in order to harness the element of surprised
Bow and arrows: very rarely, since they’re so bulky to carry

Fighting style:

Sijin’s a quiet, night-assassin type. She uses the power of the night to hide her actions and mask her steps as she approaches her victims. If she can, she’ll opt to use throwing knives since they’re convenient and have a long range (she throws far). If not, she’ll creep up and slit their throats in one quick motion. Obviously, she has quite good aim, which is why she would make a very good archer.

Equipment:
Daggers
Mirror fragment wrapped in cloth
Flint and steel

Strengths/weaknesses: speed, stealth, magic, intelligence // weak, sensitive to noise

Strengths: Sijin’s footsteps are so quietly that you wouldn’t notice her until she was already killing you. Other than that, she’s fast too, which gives her the element of surprise most of the time. Paired with her elven intelligence and use of shadow magic, Sijin can be quite the opponent.

Weaknesses: Of course, you can’t have all the good stuff. Sijin relies so much on her stealth that she’s very physically weak. That doesn’t mean she can’t run a good distance or that she doesn’t have muscles, but compared to the Orcs or Dragons, she’d lose a wrestling match. Plus, as an elf, her ears are very sensitive, which means that in the midst of a huge battlefield, Sijin would be disoriented and dizzy (which is what nearly got her killed those few times she actually went to war).

Powers:

As you’ve probably already guessed (lol), Sijin has the ability to manipulate shadows. She can reach out to the shadows and wrap herself in darkness, shrouding her from prying eyes. Of course, she only utilizes her power during the night because it would be really weird seeing a walking shadow during the day. The catch is that it’s very physically draining, so she’ll be vulnerable after she uses it (which is why she tries not to). The most she’s ever used her power was twice in one day, with a five hour rest in between.

Have you ever entered Earth-realm?
Well, once, and it was an accident. My counterpart nearly found me, but I was too scared to introduce myself, so I just hid and came back as soon as I could.
Where would you likely go in Earth-realm?
Definitely to see my counterpart and properly introduce myself. Other than that… hm, I’ve heard the nights are beautiful, so maybe a desert where I can watch the stars.

Position: Tactician
Age: 25
Birthday: May 24
Faction: Deimos
Species: Human
Backup: Lim Changkyun

Personality:

Never underestimate Kim Sunggyu. Sure, he may not look like much, but his temper is sure to scare off anyone unfortunately enough to interact with him. A bit unfortunately, he is always in a bad mood, so there’s no telling when he’s going to snap. And when he snaps, oh boy, he snaps. The person getting the brunt of his anger will definitely be dead (brain dead and emotionally dead if not physically dead) by the end of his tirade. Under that anger, though, is a genuine heart. He hates to see any injuries or deaths because it would have been his fault for not planning it out well enough. If even one person gets injured, he’ll feel guilty for days. Sunggyu is the type of person to hide his worry under a pretense of annoyance, but you’ll know he’s worried because he literally will not leave until you get better (or help comes).

Weaponry:

Honestly, if you asked Sunggyu, he would proudly declare that his only weapon is his mind. That’s not true, of course, since he’s proficient in fencing. He always has a sabre tucked into his belt, and he’s not afraid to use it.

Power:

Sunggyu is able to read others’ minds, but only for a split second. The amount of time he can hold it is just enough to find information he needs, so he needs to know exactly what he’s looking for in the other person’s mind. The other person, if they are aware that he’s reading, can block him out.

Fighting style:

Sunggyu’s not a fighter; he’s just the brain behind it all. Sunggyu tries his best to minimize damages and mitigate risks. He can use his sabre quite well, although he rarely has a chance to do so. When he does, though, he utilizes a very fencing method, which is pretty much useless on the battlefield. That is to say, Sunggyu’s better off in the back than in the front.

Equipment:
Sabre always
Water bottle
Notepad and pencil

Strengths/weakness:

Sunggyu is quite a mastermind, making all the plans for the soldiers. He also has a good memory and is able to recall small details with ease. He’s pretty versatile, able to fill in for people who are away; he makes a damn good healer.

However, being human, Sunggyu can only do so much. He’s quite weak in battle, and he’s not strong in general either. His temper also makes him vulnerable to emotional attacks, and when he reads minds, if the target is a mind reader as well, he could very easily be overpowered (and the opponent would be able to read his mind).

Relationship:

Sunggyu and Sijin are an odd couple. Who knew that the assassin and tactician would end up together? Their combined intelligence, however, remains unmatched, and whenever they’re seen together, other faction members make sure to stay away. Part of this is also because both have tempers. It’s weird, though, how Sunggyu is almost always calm in Sijin’s presence. (Still, who knows when he might explode - or worse, both of them).

Surprisngly, it’s Sunggyu who cracks a joke first. Sijin laughs, and sometimes, they end up a laughing mess, but more often than not, Sijin’s the only one who stays so happy. Sunggyu, oftentimes, is just content to watch her with a smile on his face.

It’s a pretty obvious relationship. Sunggyu flushes whenever he sees her, and Sijin always reaches out to him. She likes to hold his hand and lean on him, showing her rare vulnerability, and while he pretends to not like it, he always puts a protective hand on her waist and draws her in. Literally, being together is the one and only thing guaranteed to make Sunggyu smile.

First meeting:

Sijin was sitting on the roof of the training building, experimenting with shadows on a small scale (so it doesn’t take up as much energy), and Sunggyu was watching from behind. By the time she realized that he was there, he had already sat down beside her.

“That’s a useful power you have,” he said quietly, looking up at the sky. There were no stars that day, and even the moon was hidden by the clouds. Sijin didn’t say anything, but she nodded. Sunggyu laughed, breaking the silence of the night, and surprised, Sijin started laughing too.

They sat in more comfortable silence then, and finally, as Sijin rose to leave, Sunggyu said, “You know, if being an assassin turns out too hard, you can always transfer to my department.”

Sijin raised her eyebrows. “I’ll keep that in mind.”

Trivia:
She likes to hold his hand; he secretly likes it too
She’d never admit it, but he’s her weakness (and vice versa)
Sunggyu never gets mad at her
They don’t talk about work (unless they’re working together)

Last comments in general:

I sorta want to make it Kihyun jealous of Sunggyu. Idk like he realized that he feels for Sijin differently and not just as a mother/sister figure. It’s a minor thing though, and even I wouldn’t know how it would work, so feel free to disregard this XD

Scene requests:
I would love to see the two scenes where she had mercy on Kihyun and Howon
And Howon then saving her
And then her giving Howon a full elven funeral
