PERSONALITY :

Taken from a Red village as an orphan when young, Chanyeol had been raised to become a weapon, one utilised by the Scarlet Guard. At the age of 6, he was trained in fighting, shooting and weaponry as well as educated in all the ways he could steal a certain Silver lady's heart. It was an easy feat for him, really. He ran on algorithms, plans, lists; methods to win her over. He lived like this in everything he did. It made him seem cold and unemotional. He missed out on his childhood, was stripped of his humanity as he was used like a pawn and that in turn switched off his ability to feel freely as humans should. Love. He doesn't know what it is, what it feels like; only what it should be according to his instructions given to him by the general. Despite all this, he is a reliable soldier, one who knows how to follow rules to the T and get his job done efficiently. This is only backed up by his strong will and strong need to bring justice to their race; his father died in the trenches and his mother died at the hands of silvers who attacked her one night on her way home from work. He hates silvers. Hates them. Thinks they're all the same. The scum of the Earth. He's opinionated, set in his ways; thinks no Silver could ever understand the hardships Reds have to go through. His burning hatred for them and his emotionless ways turn him into a perfect human gun for the Scarlet Guard to wield. 

Chanyeol often speaks in short sentences, only speaking when spoken to unless he is enraged and speaking of something he's passionate about; it's in those moments you're reminded he is more than just a robot created by the Guard. He doesn't feel resentful to the Guard for stripping him of his humanity, in fact, he's grateful. He would've died alone on the streets and had he survived long enough, he would've thought himself too weak to have lived past conscription. To him, being emotionless is the same as being strong. Emotions are everybody's weakness; he saw what they can do to people with his own eyes as he witnessed the downfall of the Silver Lady he was sent to trick. Yet why had he felt a pang of guilt as he watched her break down in front of him? 

BACKGROUND : 

An orphan. His father died during conscription. His mother was murdered by Silvers with nothing else to do but harass Reds on the way home from work. He was empty. Until he was recruited by the Scarlet Guard.

Sometimes Chanyeol let himself fall into the act, allowed himself to laugh and enjoy moments with her but whenever she told him she loved him he always hesitated to repeat it for the lack of understanding the concept what love even was. He leeched information from Miyoon for years, relaying back everything she told him to the Scarlet Guard (where the Silver balls and festivals were being held, what time, how many people would be there etc) and she never suspected a thing.
