ELABORATION
hyungwon never really thought of it this way. he really didn't.

he saw the young man with black apron talking to a female part-timer; they both spoke with relaxed faces in the midst of the busy timeline. hyungwon then coughed, garnering the attention of the two. he directed his face at the overwhelming bouts of consumer. the young man was slightly taken aback, but smiled in return, shoving up two lattes for the girl to serve. hyungwon tilted his head back to see the work he's doing; his hands remained busy and agile as he saw the next order. another waiter leaned back at the counter, waiting for the next line of drinks and food to be served. he looked more disgruntled than ever. hyungwon also noticed each drinks had their own drawings; he turned to one of the customers that had them, and one of them, a highschool student, shyly smiled at him. hyungwon shook his head, but continued working while watching him intently. he found it much harder than it was seen for the man.

yerin looked from the back of the cashier, and rethinks back to her decisions on how things had went. having a full-time decent barista at sweet symphony sounded like a great idea, but she had an inkling that nobody knows what ruma would do next with his creations or anything short of ideas, making it hard for the cafe to adjust. and with a smile coming from one customer, she had another grumpy one complaining in front of hyungwon or her about their drinks. but even with both of them reminding him a few more times about what to do and not, he seemed unmoving even when yerin's patience is wearing thin. in the online site, she saw ruma as an even more mysterious, whose intellegence and curiosity remain tainted vague when persisting problem of reality remained. she sighed, not realizing the thin smile flashed to her when she stared. but even then, although she knew better that he wouldn't hold a hand onto her without a certain reward, there's always something haunting in his eyes that only hyungwon seemed to catch. he was so human, yet  nobody knew which part of him is even close to that.

BACKGROUND

The moment he woke up, the only thing he remembered was he was covered in sand, in the very edge of a shore in the middle of nowhere. he was only wearing a black hoodie and jeans, with a scar in his left ankle, still fresh with him barefeet. he heard gentle whispers, more coherent than the whirring wind. As he turned around, two figures were talking to each other, but their faces remained inexpressive and only when he coughed, they disappeared. his head was wheezing and his sight still remained fuzzy, but he managed to drag himself near to a tree. Looking back, nobody else was there but the silver ray of the moon beaming back at him. the next morning, he found himself being taken care of by an man named Min Jinhee.

for the next few hours, Jinhee told him that it will not be safe where he was found and he should not be here, but he also gave the boy's name Ruma, yet to never use his surname in any given conditions possible, while also stashing him some money and a necklace. Ruma ran away a few hours after that, and just as he escaped, he saw Jinhee was dragged away by a crowd of people. a few hours later in the evening, when he settled, he swore he'd saw a saddened Jinhee, whom smiled at him, but then also disappeared. days later, he heard rumours of a recluse was murdered by a crowd of people who demanded a 'property' to be returned to them. that moment in all has put the painful truth in him; he was all alone because of something he never knew, and did not desire to keep them that way. but even then he reflects; his name is Ruma, he has white-esque hair, and that he could've been around seventeen to his early twenties, he'd calculated, and he can see ghosts or spirits, something that many can't do. around these days, he kept on thinking that his hair was dyed by sometimes prior to his days, but it never changed back to its original colour. people only thought that the boy just had his hair dyed.

there were things that he still remembers; he still has all of his skill memories intact, but never truly remembered what had happened before he found himself alone in the middle of nothing. he then started working as a waiter in a shambled, almost bankrupt restaurant just a few months before he quit. other short-lived careers as a waiter. but in the midst of it, he made a new friend with a telepathic barista; Son Hyunwoo. he was gentler, much soft-spoken compared to the brash and outgoing Ruma. there was something that settled Hyunwoo almost differently than the others; he never freaked out when Ruma started whispering towards something or avoiding them. Hyunwoo lived alone at that time, and as time passed by, they became friends. he asked Ruma to get out of the shelter and lived with him. the first time Ruma had felt warmth of a friendship from a family, was Hyunwoo. After he quit his job at their cafe, he kept on living with Hyunwoo, where the older man started teaching him about how to make drinks.

Things felt so much safe now. Whenever he met a demon, he'd avoided them, but their presence has been alarming that at his weakest, he had been possessed from more than one occurence. Only by prayers that he even made it out. They are much harder to distinguish from real spirits whom are lost in the middle of nowhere, which is why he almost never talked to them. Hyunwoo also introduced him to the site We Psychic Few—where he was also getting active there. that's where he started getting to know its owner, whom had psychometry. He started privately messaging her about his condition, and was met with much warmth, and expressed his desire to meet her, in which she talked about Sweet Symphony.

But in December 2014, Ruma was outside in the street when he saw Hyunwoo's spirit closing near him, and then it disappeared. The older male was not supposed to be there. Much less his spirit. Ruma's stomach churned and his forehead became sweaty; he felt another presence, an alarmingly real one, watching behind him. he passed by other spirits, all who had been alarmed by what happened, but could only helplessly watch as Hyunwoo dissipated into the light itself.

When he returned home, he was greeted by the sight of a cold, unmoving body of Hyunwoo, with one note neatly tucked at his pocket; that four years ago, they'd nearly caught him and they hadn't got his eyes on cover yet; he was coveted and prized, and he knew he wouldn't make it out alive had he stayed in gwangju. So, he returned Hyunwoo's things back to his family and bought a ticket for himself to Seoul with little precious belongings and money. When he stepped on Seoul, he rent a small apartment and started searching for a job. And then he thought of Sweet Symphony..

Fifteen-year old Hyungwon was not too young when he remembered that there was a cult that dragged a young, brown-haired boy to a tub full of water, where a young girl remained unconcious. She was to weak to get up, and too beaten to even do so. Her skin are red and one of the eyes are bruised. Yet even with legs are too weak to move, but he could feel a warm hand tapping it. His stomach churned when they both made an eye contact, but the boy was not fazed. There was a bitter smile that came from him, but Hyungwon was too focused to not notice by then.  He kept on clenching his fists until their eyes met, and Hyungwon felt his heart beats faster, looking back at the young girl and silently pleading for her to be saved.

He heard shouts just above him, and just as he turned away, he saw that the boy was also submerged under water. Both did not appear after another few minutes, but then, the girl weakly raised her hand to the edge of the bathtub, and people held her hand, Hyungwon being the first to pull her out, hugging her.

But the boy remained down in the water, where Hyungwon started noticing that the brown colour started changing to fully white. Just as he got the girl out from the commotion, he saw the boy was dragged away, far from the village they lived in. He silently took her to Min Jinhee, a well known medic, to examine her. When the much older male nodded, he sighed in relief, gently kissing her forehead.

In the present, Hyungwon stared at the white letter in front of him, and the name 'RUMA' in bold above it. He never exactly had any idea why Yerin wanted him to see the paper; not exactly when it was never done before, neither had he felt like reading one to begin with. But having Yerin forcefully shoving it to him and asking him to read sounded a bit much for the usual unmoving lady.

However, he felt the presence of the lady just a few metres at his back, shaking her head. "Hyungwon, you know him."

"I disgress," Hyungwon turned to her, sighing. "he was a stranger... I'd never met my sister for years until that day too."

"Did she knew about him?"

Hyungwon's expression changes. "Said that his mother mysteriously went away and was never seen again. He didn't have any other relatives to begin with."

Yerin paused. She lifted her head up again at him, "Did Hyunjung knew his name?"

"The villagers called him Lee Dal," Hyungwon said. "Dal, precisely."

"And what was the purpose of getting him to do that? What happened to him?"
"People think he died when he was dragged away, because he probably drowned and nobody else were bothered," Hyungwon shrugged, but he remained shifty. "you know she's a medium, right?"

Yerin nodded. "Some people thought transferring power is a possible idea between two people because it also switched the 'bad energy' and 'good energy' between a medium and a normal human. But farther than that information, I don't know."
"Was he human in the first place?" Hyungwon shook his head.

Yerin paused for a few seconds. Then she turned to Hyungwon, and said, "Get him as a part-timer."

RELATIONSHIPS.

hyungwon - 25 - part-timer/debt

although ruma could not remember about hyungwon, the very present male has been a welcoming presence for him and some people compared ruma to a slightly clueless, more extroverted hyungwon. although both enjoyed their times together, ruma couldn't help but felt that hyungwon had some hidden mysteries of his own; not that ruma himself would've bothered to know, but he couldn't help but feel so. hyungwon had figured out the very thing that happened to him and was, even in its vagueness, a key to ruma's hidden memories.

son hyunwoo - 23 (at death) - old friend/victim

an old friend and one of the very few people ruma looked up to, hyunwoo's death severely affected him and the community of we psychic few, not only because it revels ruma to a stronger deal, but the very emotional effect that, while it didn't completely shut ruma down, definitely made him even more vulnerable and distrustful against people. however, he was much kinder and definitely complement hyunwoo in both  persepctives of each other. even if ruma denies it, he misses hyunwoo more than he thinks, alone once again.

nam yerin - 25 - frictional relationship/help

generally kinder than the average population and pretty much the one who gave him a desired job, ruma is still indebted to yerin no matter what he thinks, but sometimes their relationship had gone from quite the mutual respect to strain, mainly because yerin seemed so 'meddling' with his business and especially thoughts of his past, and yerin felt that ruma was so unpredictable he actually made her annoyed.

LIFESTYLE.

with him working on sweet symphony, he definitely follows them from morning to sometime before the evening hour. after that, he stays around the cafe for slightly longer time until its closing time. both yerin and hyungwon are not very aware why he does this, but they let him be. it's only around the night that he still suffers paranoia. people noticed that he lacked lots of sleep, but with the current runaway status, he was never safe to begin with.

TRIVIA

: although he can see demons, he does not talk and completely avoided contact with them. not only that, many of them disguised themselves as normal, harmless spirits. hence, he almost never talked to any even if he saw them, in fear that they had a potential threat to possess him (and it was not an isolated incident.)

: one of his favorite things to do is talking, ironically. many customers and part-timers (and hyungwon) noted that he did talking while he works and when he goes home. hyungwon is worried that ruma is attracting a menace while he's out of his guard many times. but ruma knows that he is being watched occasionally, and he has tried his best to be careful.

: he suffers insomnia, currently for living alone, and also after hyunwoo's demise. his apartment was never too crowded, but it was one of the busiest streets and he always slept with lights closed.

: in the past, ruma (dal) was a child of a single mother, and was sacrificed to test hyungwon's sister, who was injured badly after being beaten up. her own power was already draining her in the first place and she was slowly leaving her own body. in order to prevent that, they used dal to transfer all of her power by water medium and bits of black magic. and it was, with a side effect of him having white hair, and losing his memories.

: ruma was targeted to be captured and have his memories permanently erased because his memories could've returned any time sooner. apparently, there was a malfunction/glitch that he can still have bits of the past in his head. hyunwoo and jinhee became the cult's unfortunate victims as they protected his location.

: ruma wished he could go study. with his financial situation and the basis of living in fear of capture, education only come from reading books in the library, a pastime he's getting increasingly fond of, although he doesn't feel there's any intellegent air around it, but merely a fascination, especially towards math.

: he's not more friendly to humans or spirits; but comparing to how many hostile encounters he had with them compared to how little he had with humans, he's probably more friendly with humans by a little bit.

: i lost ideas. tba.

i can't succumb to my own weaknesses.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU USE YOUR POWER? it's a part of my life. i can say that to define the term 'using' is utilizing it. unfortunately as fortunate it is, it is something i don't have control of and for.
HOW DOES YOUR POWER AFFECT HOW YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE? other than the fact that i can't talk to them, it's... definitely not little. serving customers are a mild inconvenience that i don't really found my powers useful as it's supposed to be. apparently, harsh words, your k-drama rom-coms about mystery solving because of a dead ghost is not a real thing in life.
DO YOU HATE IT? BEING ABNORMAL? personally, i haven't found good news about this, but i can't say i am supposed to hate something i'm already used to live with. is that even a possible thing? it's not a disease, definitely, but personally, i hate its effects, not the power itself.

WITHIN WE PSYCHIC FEW, WHO ARE YOU CLOSEST WITH? evocation dude/girl seemed really cool in general, they have pretty awesome one. i can't decide whom i enjoyed to talk with, since most of them are averagely enjoyable.
WITHIN WE PSYCHIC FEW, WHO DO YOU TRY TO AVOID? ...cafe owner. gah, even i can't call her name in the end. i don't personally feel for her even if i felt bad of what happened to her many years back.
HOW DID YOU STUMBLE UPON THE SITE? a friend showed me a few years ago, sometime after the site was built and active.
HOW DID YOU FEEL WHEN YERIN FIRST MESSAGED YOU TO INVITE YOU TO THE MONTHLY GATHERINGS THEY ORGANIZE? i'm the part-timer there. i just do that automatically. there's a little indifference through all of the things that happened.
WHEN WAS THE FIRST TIME YOU VISITED THE CAFE? WHAT DID YOU THINK OF IT, AND WHY DID YOU ENTER?

i contacted the owner and she told me about sweet symphony. it was a cheesy name, but they have decent workers and a nice place for refreshments. i need money and when i moved to seoul, that cafe was the first to come in mind.

let's stay asleep in this neverending dream.

QUESTIONS/COMMENTS
1) I kinda passed through the whole fc thing, but then again I think Minhyuk himself had done a  gig with modeling and he looks like a model (and so is Myungsoo).

2) I kinda had a mishap over the background, but it should be noted that they were written by ruma and hyungwon's point of view and thoughts, not the reality of the misconception itself. so if you want the accurate reason, it's in the trivia.

3) I KNOW ITS MESSY BUT please forgive me ;-; i really don't have an idea whether hyungwon has a background you have decided but yeah.

Woah. I'm applying for medium and had my character's hair be white as well, except mine was born with it. Hope you won't mind me having a similar concept?
