2000 kpop vs 2017 kpop

As the tittle described...and kinda sure that I have written this before...

Anyway once again I have to see new kpop group claimed to be called as legend just after winning SMA, GDA and some other awards.

Dear all newbie always remembered that legend not created in a night. Winning an award doesn't mean you are legend.

YouTube views also is not a measurement how successful your kpop group are.

I am sorry to said this I will never agree with the fact some new kpop group is the reason why kpop are known this days.

Never ever look down on group like shinhwa tvxq wonder girls super junior and snsd. All fans of kpop do need to thanks this legends cause back in 2000 is way much different with now days.

I know kpop when I was 20..and yet that time now many people have access to internet compare to now days where my 10 years old cousin can named who she like from super junior.

Country such Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia not exposed to kpop back then compare today.

I don't expect other fans to like my kpop group but at least respect the fans as well the idols. Always remembered others won't hate your group cause of the idols, but cause you, the fans

Totally agree with you on this. The older groups like Shinhwa, Sechs Kies, S.E.S, Fin.K.L, H.O.T. and others are not even known by fans who claimed themselves as the true fans of the K-pop world.

And also I hate it everytime people start stating their favorite groups who has debuted less than 5 years as 'legends' merely because of few daesang awards & YouTube views.

The new groups hv gone a lot of things to get where they are now but they cannot beat the experience of the members from older groups. That's the thing for sure.

Ikr! I feel you. Its not that new idol generation is not good. It just that they really not deserved the tittle of 'Legend' yet. This is because their journey is way long to go not like the 1st and 2nd generation idol.

out of the groups you listed...only Shinhwa clicked with me if we're talking 2000...since the rest were from diff generation already but not to nitpick on that....i got into kpop around 2005 but only lately i actually tried songs from this duo Country Kko Kko(they're from same time as Shinhwa n had been rivals for 1st place in music shows too) and eversince then i'm so addicted to their music until now. as an older gen myself i have to say i do prefer songs from back then 90s n 2000s...i do listen to kpop now...but something(or a lot of thing) just feel lacking...n i get tired of the songs faster as i feel the sound are becoming more lacking in variety...the fandoms though...yeah, well, and i agree with you on youtube views...i mean...fans even proudly do things like stream nonstop to increase views...what meaning is left to the viewcounts other than crazy fans? anyway, this reply is all over the place n mostly out of topic...sorry bout that...i just get excited over any talk on old kpop...

That's a nice point there that was nicely put out too ^^
I agree with you ^^ I see people coining the word "Legend" with a group which had hardly debut in the past 2 or 3 years and yet they call the groups that have survived for nearly a decade or more as irrelevant.
I have lost my interest in quite a number of new groups just because of their fandom even though the group happens to be really talented.
btw how long have you been into kpop?

i totally agree with you.
thats why i still stick to the old group like tvxq, shinhwa and bigbang. they went through lots of hardship than the new group now.
i didnt mean it was an easy path for a new group to rise, it just easier since people around the world know kpop now compare to the time when shinhwa and tvxq debut.
i dont have any new group. they didnt do anything wrong to me. i just not into them. i don't expect anyone to like what i like too.
not sure if i explain it right. but hope people understand. hahaha xD
and i want to say it again i totally agree with you. you got the point *thumb up* (b^_^)b
