appearance long ash grey hair with calm and lazy eyes, sarah always looked like she was bored to death. that's a no doubt there, and she sits up straight a lot. with a slender body and pale complexion, along with fashion sense of a businesswoman, her beauty may seems indistinguished, but some people thought that she has mysterious eyes; and yes, she's known to have an infamous death glare, but that's not my point. people ought to think she may have the kinder first appearance, but she has a lot to show.

seen as one of the more 'cool' members of tessellate, being quiet, almost always adapt and relaxed. but truthfully, she's just in-tune with her own nature; the little details, the small gestures, the interactions; none of them were lost in her eyes. and when faced with other trainees or members or idols, she's the one to ensure that everything about their concerns and needs are listened and understood. and she always tries to motivate them as much as she could. her attentiveness comes with her being organized; settling priorities, utilizing people to their full potential, and with that, she has to bear through everything. she's calm and collected, being able to strike through bad rumors and had people talking behind her backs; and she's much more determined to prove people wrong about it. and she never takes failure as a slumping card; everything is delivered in high-quality regardless of her mood, and while she doesn't like all the challenges the judges gave to her, she knows it will be her stepping stone to reach better things. every criticism gets her to up herself better than the her before; and she's going to reach it, no matter what. part of her personality gains tract with others, good or bad.
a past upbringing of harsh failures and rejections never sits well; she doesn't reinforce the stereotype. always crushing the prejudice, she was highly sought (if not respected due to her young age). but being 21, she's still younger than she looks and acts. in attempts to do so at the time she's not going to be taken seriously, harsh, straight-up crushing rejections and pain has left her in a sour view of the world. and when she's not careful with being untalkative herself, slipping up would cause disasters with the k-netz. and while she always attempts to do take care of people she's supposed to, most of the time, if she doesn't held them favorably (or had done something effectively making them worth it), she doesn't hesitate to cut them off when they had went straight too far. the indifference had people calling her 'heartless', but she could only do so much before the most logical thing to do had to be done. and sometimes, being too private gave out the false assumptions that she meant evil and manipulation and harm—she doesn't. She can mean well when she's being blunt, and she's also trying to be considerate to others, but so many times words that left out slipping can mean disasters although she tried making up for it. born out of wedlock, saera was sent as a baby to a christian orphanage in ansan in the middle of the night of 12th of august. the caretakers who found her predicted that she wasn't born too long ago, and settled for 9th of august as her birthday and 'sae' as her nickname (meaning 'new' in korean). in a few days, a couple with one deaf child came to adopt her. they gave her the name saera, derived from sarah (her christened name, coincidentally).
she discovered she like singing and dancing since she was young; from singing in church choirs or accompanying other dancers until she was ten, where her parents decided to give her vocal lessons. sarah became even more passionate about singing and started doing gigs to other places when she was 14. it wasn't until she discovered her adoption papers that she fell into a big shock. she was 17 at that time.
although her parents gave her hours or talking, saera never felt even more crushed when she knew that her biological mother gave her up. she fell unto a period of downtime (i wouldn't say it's depression, but i'm not too sure either.). however, in the end, while she doesn't like to talk about it, something became clearer in her mind; her parents genuinely loved her as their baby daughter, and her older brother became a key point in getting her to tackle the thorn out. although he couldn't hear whatever she was singing, he knew that she has always been happy, and although he would never understand what she'd gone through, he's heartbroken and wants her to get back up again. it was also during this period that she'd become tightened with her faith and the idea of selfless love that finally enable her to at least climb back up. around june 2013, she started her own, independent gig.
in april 2014, she was street casted by a bighit staff when they saw her performance. in june 2014, she came to be bighit's trainee.

— Lowkey craves for skinship. Even if she looks like she's too prideful for hugs, if she had people doing it for her, she doesn't mind them. On the other hand, she is terrible at comforting people emotionally. She gets rather uncomfortable with people crying, so don't expect her to give a leaning comfort (although she tries. even born being hearing impaired, sungjoo is no doubt still an to saera at her development stage and still fought with her without a problem. but without doubt to, he was the key guy on getting her back to her feet, and although he drives her crazy almost everyday, he gave her the happiness of an older brother she may never have in the first place. saera also helped sungjoo in getting more coordinated, and often protects him when people bullied him.

saera indirectly met siwon one and a half year ago, where siwon was watching her audition. although siwon herself admit that saera is talented and is admirably passionate with her craft, sometimes saera getting so involved in the music's producing makes her want to pull her hair out. and yes, saera doesn't view siwon in a completely positive light either. although she admires her for being their producer and all, sometimes she felt that siwon was too withdrawn to herself that it wasn't helping the already fragile team. in current time though, both respect each other and can occasionally help each other while enjoying some talking time.

yoongi and saera are close compared to her and a lot of trainees; some stemming from the fact that both have opposite-heads personality and are dominant people, but what saera likes is that both of them has such similar agreements and statements that it kinda... terrifies her in a good way. both drop their formalities when no one's looking, and although saera is younger than him, he admit he might have liked her a little more than he thinks, but they both knew their circumstances made it hard for them to even start, and much less that saera doesn't heed feelings other than being a 'just friend'. both bumped to each other a few days after she was in bighit, although they just talked another few more days.

a former trainee of bighit and a still-good friend of saera. the older talked to her and managed to befriend her after two painstaking months. heeyeon was never open to begin with, and then the idea that she wasn't even particularly good with any of the specialized three talent division, and also that she was getting much more focused on her studies failed her evaluations and she left the company, not planning to get into training anywhere to begin with. but still, she remembered fondly of saera, and when both of them are not either busy studying engineering or practicing, they met up.

she was street-cast by a staff when they saw her performance at the dongdaemun park in seoul, asked to do the audition in may 2014. afterwards, she was accepted to audition at that time.

it's not even close to say that she has no friends; she talks and socializes a lot more than what she seems to look. yet still, not many are close and are mere 'good' acquaintances. noted by coaches that she was one of the speediest girls to improve and the secret lies when she never gave up; every criticism turns into stepping stones and hate turns to admiration. that's her goal, and while she grew enemies of her own (mainly because she could be a nightmare or an awesome partner to work with), she let herself ignore them. the most worrisome part was yoongi, but she tried to keep that relation a secret for his sake.
