옌니 ◇ a nickname created by lee seokmin when they first met. she was applying for a job at jeju's disneyworld where he worked, but she got lost. being the super friendly person he is, seokmin was the one to speak first. he asked for her name, and with yena being incredibly shy, clumsy and awkward, she introduced herself extremely quietly. "yenni?" he thought he heard her say. it took a little while after that for him to realise that her name was in fact "yena", but oh well. the nickname stuck and the two hit it off, seokmin easily getting the shy yena to talk. oh yeah, and then he walked with her to the place where the interviews were taking place.

한국어 ◇ simply put, yena was born in korea and has grown up in korea her entire life. she's bound to be able to speak the korean language fluently and, for the most part, without fault.

영어 ◇ back when she was still in school, english was a compulsory language for students to learn due to the amount of english-speaking tourists that visit south korea every day. especially to be able to converse with those tourists who visited jeju's disneyworld, yena furthered her english studies and became fluent enough to hold conversations and help and answer questions in regards to disneyworld.

delicate and sweet-looking ◇ yena's type of visual is innocent and fine-china. she's got delicate features that all combine to form a sweet and pure face. her lips are naturally pink and her nose is small, with a slight point at the tip. yena is currently donning bangs along with long, dark-brown silky hair.

( tattoo ) : 새끼손가락 ◇ yena's tattoo can be found on the bottom of her right hand's pinky finger. it's placed in a spot easily visible to her and unconsiously, she'll always find herself staring at it. the tattoo itself reads "l.s.m.", which stands for "lee seok min". 

( style ) : 

fluffy and casual yet feminine ◇ when not in her work uniform, yena will be dressed in clothes that make her look super squishy and adorable. she can most often be spotted wearing jumpers or cardiagns with a short skirt or dress and converse shoes. her hair is either tied in a ponytail, high bun or just left out. you'll also find her wearing a backpack. all in all, her colour theme is "pastel", which adds to her soft and sweet image.

untouched and undiscovered, venturing into new waters ◇ first and formost, kim yena has been noted to be similar to a jewellery box. pretty on the outside, with soft, feminine decorations and on the inside, a delicate ballerina with gentle, twinkling music. she's sweet through and through, from her looks to the way she acts. yena genuinely does not have a bad word to say about anyone and is compeltely innocent. physical features are one thing, but her sweetness only enhances the delicate and feminine aura that radiates off her face and soft smile. her sugary persona makes her easy to befriend (despite how shy she is initially) and her guileless nature, from her simple and honest answers, creates an image for her of a deer that needs protection. in addition to this, yena is quite the affectionate person once you get close to her. she loves holding hands, and skinship in general, clinging onto you with her long, slim fingers and soft palms. she's one to shower people in love with her small gestures such as giving them candy or just sitting down to have conversations with them. it's this innocence and charming manner that makes yena such a loveable friend to have.

even the morning sky still holds remnants of the moon ◇ yena's not exactly the most talkative person. in initial stages, she's actually quite shy and extremely quiet. it is, however, easy to get her to talk what with her easily trusting and naive nature. she can befriend almost everybody, which people do tend to find strange at first since she appears to be so bashful and awkward. she's not so much a moodmaker as she is a moodbreaker, with her feeling the need to add pieces of unnecessary information or accidentally knocking something over. in any case, her 'easily befriending' persona isn't always the best of things, though. her naivety encourages her to talk to people who more knowledgeable and less innocent peope would immediately tag as 'creepy' or 'unsettling'. she just doesn't know left from right when it comes to people who have good intentions and people who want to harm her. when it finally does become apparent to her that someone is not all that nice, yena feels hurt on a deeper level. she trusts people easily and expects the trust not to be betrayed, so when someone doesn't treat her with respect, she's incredibly sensitive and gets upset more than an average person would.

down the rabbit hole, a journey in the dark ◇ unfortunately, her friendliness and love for everybody is also her undoing. along with her innocence, yena is extremely cowardly. she believes that everybody should all be friends, and so, if one person is badmouthing someone else and wants yena's opinions, she can't say anything. she could be called a people pleaser with the way she acts, trying to stay on everybody's good side. yena despises conflict and will do anything it takes to take the easier path away from it. she's ignorant when it comes to these social matters and regrettably for her, it's quite frustrating. she tends to rely on people too much and is not able to read other's emotions. additionally, yena's not one to impose her feelings onto others. she's seen how friends can end their friendships because one lets out their emotions too much, and she doesn't want that to happen to her. she would much prefer to have someone beside her happily and without much depth, than commit and reveal what she's actually feeling. she's a follower and goes along with the majority to avoid drawing the spotlight onto herself. is she all that capable of making decisions for herself?

big families equal bucketloads of happiness ◇ as the middle child in her family of seven, yena's never had to make any decisions for herself. it's always either been "oh, the eldest kids can decide today" or "it's the younger ones' turn." yena falls into neither of these categories and she's perfectly fine with just following along with what everyone else wants. it wasn't a sad life for her, though. you always hear those stories about how the middle child is always left behind, but for yena, it's a rather good posiiton. she doesn't have the spotlight on her that often and can do things without her parents always criticising her (as the oldest two are always scolded) or being overly protective (which they are over the two younger kids). the she has with both sides also plays a role in her personality and the way she's treated. the two elder ones are closer in age, as are the two younger ones. she's got a good position in the family and acts as the peacemaker between both sides. her two older brothers look after her well, hence how she's quite innocent and naive, but at the same time, she looks after her younger brother and sister well, so accordingly, she's affecionate and loving.

on the other hand, it also means less money ◇ whilst the big family brought a lot of joy, there was always the topic of money. it wasn't a major issue, but the three elder kids knew that their parents wouldn't be able to pay for the tuition of all five children. yena's two older brothers both found permanent jobs upon graduating high school to pay for their own university tuition and now it's her turn. yena applied for all sorts of jobs. from babysitting to being a cashier at a supermarket to even being a teacher's assistant. nobody ever contacted her back, and even if they did, it was only to say that they found someone who'd be much better suited to what they were looking for. she felt like the world was against her. one windy evening, her younger sister came home from a school trip to jeju's disneyworld. she carried with her a bunch of brochures (you know kids. they like to collect random junk) and yena was flipping through them to see if there was anything of actual use. eureka! there was a flyer which said that disneyworld was hiring staff for the summer! yena applied immediately and well, looks like she managed to land herself the job.

one percent of something

◇ yena grew up in a family of seven. she has four siblings, being the middle child of the five. she has two older brothers and a younger brother and sister.

◇ originally, yena would have been left handed. she observed her two brothers, though, who were both right handed, and thought that she was writing the wrong way. from then til now, she's used her right hand for writing, but when it comes to anything else (like using chopsticks or giving something out), she uses her left hand.

◇ her whole family is musically gifted. her dad sings, her mum plays the piano, yanghyo (the oldest son) plays guitar, taejin (the second oldest) is a drummer, jiae (the youngest daughter) is able to sing and play the piano, and binhyung (the third son and youngest in the family) is plays the violin. yena herself sings.

◇ her favourite colour is yellow, mainly since it's the colour of the sun and she prefers hotter days over colder ones, hence why summer is her favourite season and winter is her least.

◇ she's enrolled herself in university with a maths major. not sure if she's actually planning on becoming a mathematician but in any case, she's insanely good when it comes to handling numbers.

◇ english is also an okay subject for her (since she enjoyed learning it), but that's about it when it comes to subjects she liked during school. history and geography were definite hates of hers.

◇ yena doesn't use any perfume but she does have a signature scent from the strong shampoo that she uses. it smells of a mixture of cherry blossoms and guava. may not sound all that appealing, but trust me, it's good.

◇　loving affectionate trusting　◇

and here we have yena's family. everybody is really close, with takyong and mihyun being as in love today as they were when they got married nearly thirty years ago. yanghyo and taejin are just as stereotypical older brothers are, with their relentless bullying and teasing yet fiercely protective nature towards their younger siblings. both jiae and binhyung argue day in and day out, but they'll often be spotted falling asleep beside each other when they tire each other out. that just leaves yena, who is counted as both one of the older ones and the younger ones at the same time. she loves her family and they love her, too.

◇　playful effervescent audacious　◇

the two first met each other when yena got lost on the way to the interview for a job at jeju's disneyworld (where seokmin just so happened to work). he helped her out and he became her first friend at the amusement park. they talk regularly, with seokmin always going to visit yena at the souvenir stand that she works at whenever he's on break from being donald duck. it's easy to see that he has a crush on her with the way he treats her carefully and always rushes over to the souvenir stand asap to limit the time she spends there alone with other workers (this is out of pure jealousy, mind you). anyway, she's pretty clueless to it and just thinks that he treats everybody the same way. she realises her own feelings for him, too, eventually. more of that in the love interest section ;)

( introduce yourself! ) : h-hello. my name's kim yena and in my first year of university. she pauses for a moment, unsure if she should keep going or not. avoiding eye contact, she speaks again. i'm turning 19 this year. nice to meet you. please take care of me. she bows.
( ah, nice to meet you! so, what job are you applying for and why? ) : i she clears . i'm applying for the position of a clerk, possibly at a souvenir stand. i need a summer job to pay for my tuition at university, and i really want to put a smile on kid's faces when their parents have paid for souvenirs and hand it to them.
( so, what qualities do you think you posses that makes you qualified for this job? ) : i placed first in my year for maths during high school and i'm currently studying at university with a maths major. i can handle money easily and efficiently, so you wouldn't have to worry about getting the wrong change or anything like that. she glances at the interviewer momentarily before looking on the ground. i also wouldn't steal the money. she meant that as a joke but the interview didn't seem to find it as amusing as she hoped. also, i'm quite good at speaking english, so if there are english tourists who would like tp purchase something, i can help them. additionally, if they need help, i can point them in the right direction. she feels the need to add one final remark. um.. i may seem like i'm really shy and unable to talk to people well, but i can guarantee that i'll be able to get the job done!
( what are you opinions on kids? ) : finally, a smile breaks out on her face. i absolutely love them! they're really adorable and they have the cutest, most innocent smiles ever! she realises that she proabably shouldn't be this excited, so she stops herself before she blurts out everything she loves about children.
( and why do you need this job? ) : she blinks for a moment. didn't she answer this a little moment ago? oh well. maybe she didn't speak loudly enough again. i need money to pay my tuition fees at university and i've been rejected by every other place i've tried going to.
( okay! thank you! we'll call you back in a few weeks to say if you got the job! thank you! ) : thank you! she bows and turns around to exit the room. at the door, she turns around and bows again before leaving.
