FULL NAME pepper gurem min 민구름

FACE CLAIM  lee 'yeoreum' jinsook wjsn BACK UP  kim jinkyung

NICKNAMES basics // gugu, mingu, min, reum-ah. any general variation of her name, basically. note : no one calls her gumin except joohyuk ! pepper! bless you! // a quirky thing made up by gureum's best friends - her english name is pepper, which is hoochoo in korean. dayoung is the only one who uses it, and yeonjung always says it sounds like she's sneezing, hence a little comedy duo that consists of one calling out 'hoochoo!' in delight upon seeing gureum and the other piping up with a 'bless you!'

APPEARANCE light brown chestnut hair, a deep dimple on her right cheek, a dainty rounded nose, delicate lips, and a small oval face. min gureum isn't striking eyecandy, but a natural beauty. long legs, slender arms, and casual makeup finish off the 18 year old's look. she dresses the part of a regular girl in fall, but makes it look more chic. knit sweaters, oversized cardigans, ripped skinny jeans, distressed tees, fleece leggings, turtlenecks, extra large hoodies. gureum's all about being comfy and conservative, rarely wearing short shorts, skirts or tank tops. if it's hot, you can see her in most likely the same coverage, just lighter material.

"i season your life, everybody."

PERSONALITY gureum is the one kid in class voted as 'most likely to kill herself with kindness'. she loves people and always wants to see the best in them and do her best for them and have the best for them. she's naturally a people pleaser - generous and compassionate - and she's continuously burdening and stressing herself out trying to make others comfortable and satisfied. because of this, lots of people think she's naive and easy, but she can stand up for herself when she needs to - which she doesn't think is often because people can get moody, maybe they were just having a bad day. gureum firmly believes 'better me than them', but she really does overestimate herself in this. she can be very independent and sacrificial, but in the big picture, it's helping anyone but her. she is but a 18 year old girl trying to help her broken family get along - but, of course, hardly anyone knows of this. besides her two best friends and other scattered family friends, no one knows what gureum hides behind her ever-present smile and just as ever-present sarcasm. gureum, on the surface, is a bright and bubbly personality. it's not like her love for puns and her loud head-throw laughs are fake - gureum never lets her family situation bring her down so much that she's a bother to people around her ( because then they'd be uncomfortable and oh no !! ) and she's pretty positive about it all anyways because being sad or angry or upset takes up too much energy. so yes basically she's a very friendly person - sarcasm is her way of expressing affection, but she's always moderate on savageness and in summary gureum is a hufflepuff.

BACKGROUND there is indeed quite a heavy load hidden behind gureum's smile, though. the 18 year old used to not be in need of so much money. in fact, it was the exact opposite. gureum's family used to be very well-off - her father was a high chair in a marketing company and her mother was a secretary for the same company. but when her father fell chronically ill with a rare disease, proper treatment was only available in their hometown - south korea. until then ( about age 15 ), gureum had been born and raised in los angeles, california, but she had no objection to moving halfway across the world if it meant her father could be helped. upon arriving in korea, gureum's father's condition got slightly worse, and things didn't help when someone came and promised them that some new studies and technology could help him, only to scam the min family of all their money. gureum's mother had given up her job back in california to move to korea and the trio found themselves in a seemingly hopeless situation. but time has passed, and things are looking up. gureum has made two reliable, loyal best friends, her mom's job as a hakwon instructor is going well, and by some miracle, gureum's father's condition has improved. there's no saying it'll completely go away, but the min family is fine with what they have right now.

"who do you cook for?"

RELATIONSHIPS

lim dayoung, yu yeonjung these three girls have been the best of friends ever since the first month of school when they were all put together for a group project. all their bright, outgoing personalities immediately clicked and they're now the inseperable three musketeers. the 18 year olds like to spend their time screaming at karaoke rooms, buying each other crack gifts, bursting out into loud cackles in the corner of the classroom, and crying at 2 in the morning after having deep talks. the three of them can sometimes be too loud for anyone else's taste, especially when they're all together, but they match each other just fine and they're satisfied with that. to outsiders, they're a weird trio, always looking like they're planning world destruction amongst themselves, but in their little circle, it's all just love and compatability.

jung haera, min seungyoo gureum's loving parents. they've done their best to raise her to be the kind, compassionate girl she is now, and one glance at them will tell you just where she got it from. they're just as caring as their daughter, but the trials of life have made them more headstrong and they know when the line is crossed. gureum loves her parents and looks up to them and their relationship a lot - they talk things out a lot and never raise their voices at her or each other and they have very good morals and they emanate very positive vibes in general. min family is love, min family is life.

TRIVIA one she's fluent in english because it's her first language !! her parents raised her speaking korean on the side, too, though, so besides the times she needs translation or help with pronunciation, she's pretty fluent. two she loves puns wow three she is a music enthusiast - music makes so many people happy and it can send messages and cross borders and people are so passionate about it and it just makes her so happy and yes. she's into kpop, as well as khiphop, r&b, pretty much anything. she gets into the groove easily and can never stand still when music's playing. four her natural hair color is black, but she's dyed it twice since coming to korea to get to the chocolatey hazelnut color she has now. five in the future, she has lots of things she wants to go into - culinary arts, music, performing arts, etc. she's pretty artistically talented in various ways - she likes to draw and she actually took ballet classes as a little girl and food is definitely a form of art, so gureum has lots of options for her future ! six she loves cilantro omg cilantro is love cilantro is life seven she hates showing her weak side to others because then she feels like she's burdening them eight her favorite number is nine because nine is 'gu' in korean !! nine she has an ig and a sc @9ureum ! twitter is too scary for her lmao rip ten gureum is a pretty good student, she's above average but not top 10, but she still has to work to get where she is. eleven she looooves kids omg. specifically babies, as in 2 or younger. she gets distracted by babies on the streets like you would a dog and she always smiles and says hi at them and has an itching urge to hug them tight and squeeze their cheeks. twelve more tba

"extra pepper on the side!"

LIFESTYLE gureum wakes up half an hour before she has to leave for school, an hour if she has to shower ( she rarely ever showers at night because her hair rarely ever cooperates the next morning ). she washes up, throws her uniform on, then kisses her mother goodbye before walking to school. about halfway there, she'll meet up with yeonjung and dayoung, and the trio will link arms and talk and laugh all the way to school. they separate to go to their individual classes and the rest of the day is a breeze - or not, depending on what gureum's learning in math that day. she wears her earphones as much as possible, loving some alone time with her music. she eats lunch with, of course, yeonjung and dayoung, the three girls stealing each other's food and feeding each other their own. she tries hard not to fall asleep in history class, and sooner or later, the school day is over. gureum walks back home, this time alone since her friends have after school clubs, and the rest of her day is spent either doing homework, watching youtube videos, looking up recipes, checking up on her customers and such, or actually going out and delivering. a majority of her weekend consists of lunchbox delivery, but gureum doesn't mind doing what she loves. her mother fully supports her working there, too, since it brings profit and gureum enjoys it.

LUNCHBOX DELIVERY ! "rain or wind, sleet or snow, we'll bring your food if you've got the dough!" was a suggestion gureum had for their slogan, but she was, sadly, rejected. it didn't upset her much, though. gureum loves working for lunchbox delivery for reasons other than money - she loves making food and making people happy with the food she makes for them to make them happy. gureum's always had a passion for cooking - she got it from her father, who aspired to open his own restaurant - one that isn't five-star in the papers, but five-star in the hearts. he always told her that you must make food thinking of the person you're making it for, and gureum enjoys thinking about her customers. making up stories, imagining scenarios, wondering about the truth. be it sad thoughts or happy thoughts, gureum puts lots of insight and care into her meals, even making it her signature thing to attach a colored post-it to her lunchboxes with a short message telling the customer to enjoy their meal. but just as much as she loves cooking for people, she can't ignore the fact that her primary reason for working is the fact that she needs money. with her father in the hospital and her mother working as a mediocre hakwon instructor, not making as much as the better-off instructors but making more than those in the lower hierarchy, gureum feels she needs to help contribute to and support her family.

LOVE STORY

well, you see it all started on a cold autumn day. gureum was preparing a meal for a new customer - pork cutlets, rice, veggie salad, the works. she topped it off with her signature post-it note and set off on the motorbike to go deliver it. upon arriving, she rung the bell and waited for the door to open. she bounced up and down on the balls of her feet, blowing hot air into her hands, considering for the nth time getting some gloves and regretting it for the nth time for not and then deciding for the nth time not to commit what she believes is a fashion crime. with all these thoughts going through her head, she was surprised when the door opened abruptly, then even more surprised when she had to look up, up, up into the good-looking customer's face. she had to admit, his looks were striking - but gureum had to keep it professional. she smiled at him and tried to stop bouncing from the cold. "1-800-lunchbox-delivery! here's your order!" just as she was suffering from the cold, the customer seemed to be breathing heavily, too. "thanks!" he got out. "sorry for making you wait, i had to go run and grab my wallet." as he spoke, he reached for the food and gureum held it out to him. it wasn't a big box, and he had big hands - their fingers brushed against each other, but the touch was firm enough for him to notice how cold her hands were. "oh, wow, you're hands are really cold! if you want to come inside, i could make you some tea or something!" he said, his eyebrows furrowed in concern. gureum pulled her hands back and slid them into her pockets. "oh, no, i'm fine! my hands get cold really easily." she chuckled sheepishly. "no, i insist! i mean, i did keep you waiting out here for a while. i would like to make it up to you." he looked at her imploringly, seeming genuinely sorry. gureum hesitated. she really did feel like she was about to freeze up, and tea sounded good about now. upon her hesitation, the boy grinned and made room in the doorway for her. "it's fine, come on in!" gureum slowly stepped in, surprised at how nice the house looked. he hurried past her after closing the door, setting the food on the table and hurrying to prepare a warm drink for her. gureum awkwardly stood around, never having been inside a customer's house before, and the boy told her she could sit down at the table. unknowingly to her, he stole glances as he heated up the water, smiling to himself. "hey, what's your name?" "you have a nice house." they both said at the same time, wanting to break the awkward silence. they burst out into laughter and he responded, "thanks", and she apologized for talking over him. "what did you say? my name?" he nodded. "oh, my name's gureum. min gureum." she smiled, and he nodded, trying to make it seem like he hadn't known that already. "that's a pretty name! i'm joohyuk! nam joohyuk!"

but the thing is joohyuk had always known who gureum was. he had a friend who worked at lunchbox, also, and who always seemed to have stories about the cute maknae of the whole delivery service. joohyuk always listened intently, quite intrigued by her pleasant sounding character, but he didn't become completely interested until one day. he was out one spring day, with nothing really to do, it being the weekend and him not being some huge party animal, so he decided to go visit his friend who worked at lunchbox ( you can make this an applicant or create an oc, idc !! ). upon arrival, he opened the door, only to almost crash into a tall, lean girl with a lunchbox and a helmet in her hands. "ohhhmygod i'm so sorry!" she laughed and bowed, then squeezed past him. joohyuk's friend looked up and his eyes lit up in surprise. "hey, man, what's up? fancy finding you here!" he grinned and came around the counter to greet his friend with a high five and a hug. joohyuk returned the actions and nodded to the door. "who was that girl?" "huh? oh, that was probably gureum. i didn't see, but if she's laughing or apologizing or both, it's most likely her. she's cute, huh?" "and taller than you, but whatever. not my problem." joohyuk's friend glared at him, upon which joohyuk laughed. the two boys talked and chatted for a while, the friend simultaneously working, and after a while, gureum came back. joohyuk's friend called out to her - "hey, gureum, sorry if you were about to go on break, but one more order came in!" the girl looked up and nodded. "alright, that's fine. i had to stay a little later to prepare for tomorrow, anyways. thanks for letting me know!" she disappeared into a room and joohyuk's friend sighed, shaking his head. "so young, but so hard-working. she's one of the few at lunchbox who actually makes the food they deliver." "she cooks?" joohyuk asked. "yeah - she's pretty popular. we always get lots of orders for her." joohyuk nodded, wondering how such a young girl could be so hard-working yet efficient. doesn't she have schoolwork? as questions ran through his head, gureum passed by the two again, not really noticing joohyuk. "hey, i already told you i can't come tomorrow, right?" joohyuk's friend nodded and gureum nodded a thanks, satisfied. joohyuk waited until she left to ask his friend - "why isn't she working tomorrow?" his friend looked up in the direction gureum had gone off in, gazing in wonder. "she's visiting her dad in the hospital. gureum actually has a really rough family life - that's why she works at the lunchbox, to get extra money to support her family. i don't know how she's so sweet all the time." the friend shook his head in awe, returning to his work, but joohyuk continued staring at gureum, able to see her through the small crack in which the door was not completely closed. she was cooking diligently, a smile on her face, and joohyuk was hooked. the smile was all it had taken.

and so joohyuk had specifically asked for gureum to be the one to deliver that meal on that specific day when his parent's weren't home. he really wanted to get to know her and become her friend, and his first feelings toward her were pure curiousity and intriguement. joohyuk's always been interested in the different mentalities and physiques people have, and gureum was no exception. he wanted to understand how she thought, how she managed to stay so positive, how she really felt. he wanted her to open up to him, to not put up a facade, to not bottle it all up. joohyuk didn't know why he had such passionate feelings towards gureum, but he just knew he had to do something about it. that day in his kitchen, the two made small talk and got on the level of acquaintances. gureum was luckily free for the rest of the day, so they weren't pushed for time, and she left his house with a light heart and a smile on her face.

time flies numbers of lunchbox deliveries and chats and exchanged numbers later, joohyuk finds his feelings towards gureum changing. at first, she was kind of like a project - make her a friend, be a friend she can rely on. but now, she was something else - something more. his purpose for wanting to be reliable to her changed - it wasn't just because he was a compassionate, intrigued person. joohyuk liked gureum, and he wanted her to trust him and lean on him and rely on him as a man and a partner, not just a friend. the two don't go to the same school, however, so the only time they can see each other is through the deliveries. although they've built a pretty solid relationship through those small meetings, joohyuk wants more. their story right now revolves around them finding out their feelings, then doing something about it.

it goes like this both of them have very friendly personalities, so they got close pretty quick. they're currently at a comfortable stage, where they joke around a lot and tease each other. he puts her into headlocks a lot and she smacks the back of his neck. she threatens to poison his food and he pretends he doesn't have money to pay her. no one really knows how they got so close just through deliveries, but no one's questioning it either. they're just good, playful friends, but throughout the story, joohyuk will start to be more intiative and direct. he does a lot more skinship and bluntly compliments her at times and is more open about wanting to spend more time with her. gureum doesn't know how to feel about all this - she's been so caught up with the delivery service and making money and supporting her family and she's never had friends other than yeonjung and dayoung and all this attention from this cute boy is flustering her!!1! it takes her longer to come to terms with her feelings, but of course she does and yay happily ever after wow was this story boring --

jooreum one ok rip their ship name translates to 'wrinkles' two joohyuk loves skinship, so yes you do what you want with that information three he's so punny wow he always orders from her and asks for "extra pepper on the side!!" four he realizes she's not lying when she says her hands get cold easily and he has dubbed himself her personal handwarmer because "who else is gonna make me food?" "your mom." tbh he just wants to hold her hands. five he's called her gumin for a while, because everyone else used mingu and he wanted to be different, but once they start dating ?? he's all like "ohoho gumin of my heart!" gumin means 'resident' btw six he has this lowkey obsession with her dimple. he's always poking her cheek and telling her to smile to see if he matches where it is. seven he's pretty surprised when he realizes korean's not her first language, but then he finds it cute and points out her accent and mistakes only to help her fix it the next second. eight after they start dating, he waits outside of her school to walk her home squeals nine no rated scenes for this fetus couple !! detailed kiss scenes aka make outs yes very good but yknow not the frickity frack. ten he tends to make her stay and wait until he's done eating, but she gets payback by making him help her on her schoolwork. eleven more tba
