So you guys know that I view myself as a somewhat respectable (and smartassish) person right?

well its because i am

when it comes to most things. I don't think I'm a genious or anything (like..seriously nope XD) but I do like to think that I can more or less solve my only problems.

Well... mostly apparently.

So when I went to the UK, my laptop started acting odd from time to time. It would shut off and tell me that the harddrive could not be reached. It freaked me out. I told all techs I knew and most told me that well.. it may be dying..

and then it stopped working altogether.

fastworfard some months, I'm home with my laptop safe and sounds after my longass (DELAYED AND CRAP) flight. I asked the guy (dad's friend) that sold me the laptop to come over and checkt he damage. He can order a harddrive for me for cheap right?

So.

He comes in. Plugs the laptop in.

waits

AND IT ING TURNS ON.

Ok so apparently what happened isn't necessary just my dumbness (I MEAN I ASKED ALL KINDS OF PEOPLE ABOUT IT, INCLUDING ONE THAT I HOPE WOULD NOT LIE TO ME - COUGH - I'd kick their if they did - cough. The voltage of electricity in Hungary and the UK aren't the same and... the transformer thingie for plugs is not enough to make 'em work. So what happened is that my fighter of a laptop used what little juice it had in it for months, apparently barely even charging over there and stuff, and when it could not function the - perfectly healthy - harddrive just could not turn on. I mean in all honesty I was praying for something like this to be the issue - i am moving in MAX 2 weeks and i cant exactly afford to replace the laptop fully right now, gonna need all the cash I have to make it to Edinburgh... but it's just so..simple. And I mean seriously. too simple. I checked HP's page, didn't find the issue like this XD So now I need a replacement charger (right plug and all that) and preeettty much that's it. problem solved. The reason I'm ranting about this is because I feel so silly XD I knew that the laptop was OK deep down but I never actually took it to a store to have a look at it. I mean if I did, I could have just gotten a charger and bam, works XD 

on another not if anyone near Edinburgh knows of a flatshare or anything please tell me cause i dont wanna spend more than 3 weeks in hostels XD I'm getting my job ASAP and all that so it's cool but still :D
