It's been about 5 days since MAMA has passed. And I have finally got the mood (and time) to write a blog about it lol

Speaking of MAMA, it has never been some event unproblematic, and I have been thinking of boycotting it as well. However, I finally decided against it because, well, BTS. And also, GFriend. Oh and the possibility of Bangtan winning a Daesang is now bigger. To be honest, I have my hopes up quite a lot since they won their first Daesang ever at Melon Music Awards.

I missed the red carpet tho, because I was at a tuition centre.

So I got back home just in time to switch on the television and watch the opening of MAMA (because I subscribed to a package and it included the TVN channel). And then I just sat down and watch it all the way.

Okay so I am going to divide this blog into a few sections:

Performances

1) Seventeen + GFriend

HOLY THAT'S MY FAVOURITE COLLAB STAGE OF THE NIGHT. Yuju started off things beautifully with a ballad version of Rough, and then the other GFriend members and Seventeen members just appeared on stage, while doing some awkwardly adorable skits like "oh-you-dropped-the-mail-so-I'll-pick-it-up-for-you" and also "I-apparently-recieved-a-call-from-the-public-phone-and-I-think-it's-for-you?!!" situations. And then Seventeen performed their new song Boom Boom and also Very Nice (with GFriend and their occasional "MAJA"s). And then there's the dance break omg I LOVE IT their moves are so beautiful. And then GFriend ended the performance with Rough (which, I won't admit it but, deserves the song of the year). Overall it's a really nice performance and I can't get enough of it.

2) Twice + IOI

The opening VCR is quite cute?? But it honestly didn't leave any big impression on me. IOI has a nice performance tho, with Pick Me as the opening. I am a little bit mad because they didn't perform the dance break (or Whatta Man, any one will do lol). and then there was Very Very Very, which started right from the rap part (read as KILLER part) and left me screaming. Then Twice appeared with a "shy shy shy" remix (really MNet??) and performed Cheer Up. Then a huge pumpkin appeared and the smiley face turned into a "TT" face, indicating the intro of TT. That pumpkin is quite cool lol 

3) Taemin

Okay I forgot about him completely just now because he's kind of opening the whole night but then some incident made me remember. He ruled the stage completely. And when he started to his shirt I was internally screaming and I kind of just lowered my head and stare at my phone for a long time because my mum is home and I don't want to fangirl in front of her lol

4) Monsta X + Got7 + NCT

That rap battle is lit and come on guys admit it that GOT7 DIDN'T DESERVE THAT KIND OF TREATMENT. They literally performed one song and the camerawork is . But the others are okay. Monsta X got ty camerawork too but the rap battle saved the world. NCT is lit, I never thought Fire Truck is good but the choreo kind of made it better

5) BewhY + Yiruma + PREPIX 

Let's say, Yiruma's my role model since I first heard his music. I am still salty over how MNet cut River Flows In You off and starts right away with Day Day. I mean, that transition from A Major to D flat major (is it? I knid of forgot and I can't check lol) is GORGEOUS. I don't really know BewhY or PREPIX but Day Day is a good song.

6) BTS

HOLY FCKIN I CAN'T GET OVER THAT FREAKIN PERFORMANCE ESPECIALLY THAT SKIT WHAT THE-  okay I'll stop now. Jungkook was hanging on a swing and generally just being gorgeous. And then Hoseok appeared and Boy Meets Evil starts playing and I was like NO-OO-OH YOU'RE NOT GOING TO DO THAT. After he did part of the dance Jimin appeared from nowhere with a blindfold on and THAT'S EXACTLY WHEN I LOST EVERYTHING. Even if Jimin was blindfolded but he was in perfect sync with Hoseok and I was mindblown. Then everyone appeared and performed Blood Sweat Tears. And FCK THIS HOW AM I GOING TO TALK ABOUT THE SKIT. So literally Seokjin was kneeling and Taehyung walked to Seokjin, knelt down behind him and flipped his jacket to reveal two scar that were once wings. It's Bighit and their aesthetic no one understands again. But then Taehyung leaned forward and Seokjin's eyes in such a provocative way, breathed on his neck (someone said he kissed his neck) and then smirked in SUCH A PROVOCATIVE WAY. UGHHHHHHHH I HATE THOSE BOYS. Later someone on Twitter referred that skit to "satanic softcore gay " and I agree fully on that. Oh and then dancers in robe appeared and (I heard there are over a hundred of them? Wow) they started performing fire and literally set MAMA on fire. And thus, MAMA is saved, the night is saved. Bangtan slays MAMA.

7) FANXY CHILD

I have a lot to talk about them but I think Aff has a word limit so I'll just keep it short. I still have one group to talk about. Dean's hat is tragic, but his vocal is 1000000000% on point. Crush is a freakin vocal legend too. And then Zico came and set the stage on fire with his tongue techno (sorry Yoongi, copyrights go to you). And then the three of them performed Bermuda Triangle together. The stage was lit. They saved MAMA. Again. (But why are the views so low too? I can understand Bangtan since they have a lot of antis but hello, who doesn't love Dean? Or Zico at least?)

8) EXO

I still can' believe this. They turned Transformer, a non title song, only performed on concerts- into a freakin bop of the century. I know the song because I once stanned EXO too. And there was a very VERY cool VCR which is linked to scifi (so apparently they are robots now? I thought they're aliens what). I can't understand the story tho. Why was Jongin the only one with a green neck light? Is it because he is the only one who isn't a human? I don't understand lol. Then they performed Monster with a dance break in between. I jammed to the song too because come on, who doesn't like Monster? Everytime Monster plays, I got a mini heart attack and start jamming. Overall this is a really good performance. I enjoyed it (even though I'm not even that big an EXO-L anymore).
