what the happened?!

So I'm just randomly scrolling around on twitter (yes returned to twitter after a long time)

and I saw a link to Zhoumi's video for "what's your number?"

I have listened to the song, but not watched the MV before (was away from fandom for a while...)

umm.... why is there over 37,000 dislikes?

I've not been paying attention to SJ past few months... what did Zhoumi do for this to happen? :(

He voiced support towards China for a political matter. The Chinese had illegally banned Filipino fishermen from fishing and where using Philippines water and arresting Filipino fishermen for doing their own job. The international court had not supported the Chinese activity. Because of this many Chinese went "Chine can't get any smaller" . This led to Vietnamese, Filipino and many non-Chinese people to voice their anger at Zhoumi. Mainly people who is politically troubled by Chine - Vietnam, Philippines, Taiwan and India (though there are few ELFs here) shut him down.
Long story short, China is bullying and illegal taking land and water from other countries. The people from bullied countries are defending their land but hating on Zhoumi. (It makes no sense but that is what it is)
Again as a Chinese. he has a right to express his support for the country and if people find what he did was wrong, then they have a right to hit the dislike button as well.
The truth is many fans are "hurt" by his comment. Fei, Jia , Lay then some Fiestar member are also suffering.

It's wrong to attack people because of their political opinion. But it's also wrong for an idol, or any celebrity to talks about political issues at all. Celebrities should stay neutral in public, in any matters actually, if they want to stay for long in the light... XD

It's something abt political issues. Zhoumi posted that "china couldn't get any smaller" in his ig. I can't really explain tho since it's really complicated, but China is claiming some of other countries' area, and Zhoumi is supporting it

Now that I see those comments .. it's so ridiculous to put hate on idols because of political issues ... they are human beings and all human beings have their right of an own opinion ... he's Chinese so of course he'd take the Chinese side and if not he would have got all Chinese hate like wtf ... we are liking our idols because of their music and not their political opinions .. like if it was sth like supporting or sth horrible like this I'd understand hating on an idol but because of a simple political opinion ...

He supported China in the China Phillipines matter...and many non-chinese fans of that region got upset. He lost a lot of support from those asian fans and China has a separate platform: therefore the dislikes
