Is it just me or is Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo really good?!

I mean, I am possibly being biased here, with me watching for Baekhyun (hey, I am just excited for puppy Baek's first drama!) and all the pretty boys there (hello LJK, KHN, BBH and HJH! I am still getting acquainted with JS and NJH though) but going 8 episodes now in the drama, I am very much into it (no dozing off unlike the last two dramas I've seen. Sorry Ok Taecyeon and Kim Rae Won!)

Of course, I still hope for better music direction and I wish to keep those nagging thoughts away why the princes (except for two) all seemed to be attracted to Hae Soo to the point of being creepy haha. But I must say if I hadn't known that LJK and IU are the main couple, I would actually ship IU with KHN. While their relationship feels wrong at first, I am warming up to their budding romance, I want everyone else to leave their love alone. They are at peace and are happy to be together, I don't want any prince to come in between or keep them apart (LJK nooo!). Or maybe KHN's acting is so good, I am even falling the dreamy prince myself and he isn't even my bias. (I have to prepare for your eventual heartbreak Wang Wook, but know where you can come running to when it happens!)

I have heard and read so many criticisms over this drama so I am trying to keep my expectations low but with a promising cast and premise, I seriously can't. Now that I watching it already, I'm pleasantly surprised to see they're all doing so well. Heck, I even hate everything HJH now even I am secretly crushing on him the last time I saw him on a drama. And I didn't know IU can act and cry so well (I never watch her dramas before, not even DH, sorry) and Baekhyun isn't so bad. All the rest, either I know are really good or I am seeing for the first time (or some in a different light).

So yeah, it's a drama that delivers for me so fa that I'll stick around, excited for the next episodes. I just wish the music scoring improves and just keep the theme instead of going all pop-py that it won't feel weird and shakes me off back to reality (a friend says the OST is amazing so I am hopeful! yey for that!) Here's to more dreamy Kang Haneul and even more Lee Jun Ki, because the pretty, bad boy persona also makes me swoon!
